Ayo guys
So, i've decided to make a decent male avi for my alt; thing is, i have no idea on how to even start.
Making a female avi is easy, as even without spending one 1L$ you'll find tons of gifts.
But for the dudes, i've found out it's pretty hard.
I've seen A LOT of male avis, but they look all the same (a blocky mass of muscles), so my goal was to make something more feminine.
The only male stuff that i know about are:
(1) The Raven Bell bento head: this is where i need most of you guys to help me out; the demo sucks, because there's no customization HUD, and there's barely any info about it (compared to other mesh heads).
Which shop has skins for this head? Is it good? ("good" as in, worth 1500L$ good)
Body: most of the cute guys i saw use a combination of Maitreiya + V boy chest.
This is..expensive af.
Is there any decent alternative to it?
I'll post a few pictures just to give you guys the idea of how i want my avi to be:
(and PS: i've already tried with kemono body + venus head but it looks too cartoonish and it really doesn't satisfy me)

the BJD Lance bento head is an OK upgrade from the others as long as you know slider-fu and can make it look proportionate from every angle. it's very easy to fuck up unfortunately. I think having a good skin is important for it. the downside is nobody makes any skins for the BJD Lance aside from maybe one store with very niche products. you can get the demo and try any omega skins as long as you have the omega applier kit for the BJD Lance which is 99L on mp (50L in world with a 5l group fee)
most people who have success with it simply make their own or touch up another skin as a base. if you're not good at editing or textures... I'm sorry, just save up for a catwa head or whore yourself out at boystown or something. catwa is user friendly for people who aren't good at editing or mods. you can also get skins tooled for it easily.
for femboy bodies, maitreya is the best if you want to move away from kemono. it has a wide range of clothes already out to choose from and getting freebies for maitreya is also simple if you hit up the right blogs. worth the investment. pic related, nabbed off of my flickr feed

And you're absolutely right: i've tried looking up for some stuff and holy shit i swear it was like a desert.
So, i followed your advice and i've been trying some stuff with Catwa heads (i already have one on my alt btw): would you advise picking up Catya or Lona?
Lona does look better, but Catya looks more realistic.
Also, about the body: i've picked up a Maitreya demo with the Boy chest: the problem is that i can't seem to apply the skin im using on both the Catwa and the Maitreya on the Boychest: do i need an Omega? (Is there even an Omega for the boychest?)

The v-tech is an omega product and so you will need the omega installer to test demos. all omega installers are 99Ls on MP and 50Ls after joining the 5Ls group.

Okay so how does this work? I want to use a maitreya body with the v tech chest and a skin from Pink Fuel. Pink Fuel has an applier for their male texture to the v tech mod, but the only appliers they have for the maitreya body are female textures, so you end up with a male texture upper chest and a female texture lower chest. Is there any way around this?
I think someone mentioned something about the omega system appliers, but I've been looking through their website and I can't figure out what their product does or how it works.

i personally use the new belleza jake with a female shape for a more natural (but not FOOTBALL PLAYER ON STEROIDS) kind of lean, but that also depends on what kind of body type you're going for. maitreya/v-tech combo works out too and has a lot more clothing options and shit if you're going for thin/teenieweenie bois. and also depends on your skin n stuff. as for heads, i agree BJD line is your best bet, but it is very lacking in skins unless you know how to mod like fuck or know someone who does lol. there's a very few nice mods for heads 3/4/lance (enfersombre, artificial hallucination, etc.) but if you wanna use something LL based, it all depends on your skin, once again. a lot of people use female heads for their boiz and it works out nicely if you know how to mess with it right. (shape, skin, etc.)

Kiki's femboy chests for Maitreya/Belleza come with 3 skin tones out of the box. They don't have as much clothing support as the v-tech though, but some items made for maitreya fit it better.

Why? Most mesh male avatars are ultra muscular steroid induced hulk rage monster bodies, great if you're some gorean faggot who has to overcompensate for being a fat piece of shit IRL.
But some of us dont have insecurities which we blast onto the unsuspecting public.
Slink gives you a very average body, doesn't look like you're ready to line up 36 dicks to suck off, and seems to work well with a lot of clothing out there.
My only gripe is the fact you have to pay extra for hands and feet.
For you anatomically correct fuckers out there, it comes with an on-functional dick. But honestly, people who want dicks on their av are going to lewd, so who gives a fuck. The only worry is if you're in a group like /vg/ that could get you in trouble.
I have heard belleza makes a good one too.
