Black Magic Thread.
Talk about how cute F6 is. How unappreciated F5 is. And how no one will ever care about Duna Typhoon.

F6 is a doll.
F5 exploded, so she's a blow-up doll.

Be careful, tiny Shirow, when the M-66 is constrained, she detonates; if you hug her hips too hard, her butt might explode!

Must result in some frustration. And confusion, as they're basically walking barbies.

I'm sure a good rub is all they need, as they're certainly pressure-sensitive

Hah! No wonder they overheat so frequently, naughty dolls they are
Good thing the army doesn't make them wear something too tight, who knows what they'd be up to if they had to wear something more stimulating.

That's exactly why they're given the baggy outfits; attempts to have a tighter camouflage/dust covering just made them far too stimulated to be useful; ended up with them humping the air and haiguring away to rub it against their featureless groin. Very embarrassing for Professor Matthews!

That's what you get for selling ditzy bimbo robots to the military. What's next? Sunny Miami as a submersible anti-torpedo unit?

Not with those breasts, too much drag. She could probably work as a floating naval mine though.

I think we can see here that F6 is an action figure; look at that hidden gimmick in there! Lotsa play value.

So I was looking at the animation model stuff for one reason or anoher and I noticed something about the service rifle of the regular soldiers in the OVA.
It's got an odd shape, doesn't it? But if you look at it; there's two influences that instantly spring to mind. Notice how the rifle seems to be offset, with the stock not being in line with the magazine? Very similar to the overall look of the MAS-38 smg. However, where's the magazine for the rifle? Is it in the pistol grip? No. Shir was a gun nerd and that's paying dividends here. Look at the rectangle above the barrel; that's exactly the same as the caseless magazine in the G-11. Furthermore, the 'lock' style charging handle is a similar design and in the same position as the G-11.I bet if I went back and rewatched it, I'd not see cases eject from the regular army's rifles when they're fired.
Fuck yes, Shirow.

And even if it isn't a caseless rifle, that's clearly how it's set up, so even with a forward mounted cartridge magazine, it still works.

I added that extra post because I saw what could be an ejection port. However, it's likely not an ejection port because it's not in line with the barrel. So it's likely an inspection port for clearing a stoppage.

I was trying to find scans of it to screencap and such after reading through it again the other day as it's interesting from Shirow's development, even if the M66s and the MA-77 aren't as cute as F5 or F6 and I found the english covers from the first floppy releases.
I think they speak for themselves.
