Everything from HookTube/YouTube embeds to WebMs & mp4 and everything else music related – not necessarily sapphic in nature, though that is a big plus.

Listening to t.A.T.u. is a guilty pleasure of mine – there are quite a few witch house remixes of their songs worth checking out too. The music video to All The Things She Said is probably the most famous lesbian-themed music video of all time.

I can't even remember much of it, just that I loved watching it as a kid. Would be fun to revisit it.

>Still, I’d see that one over the Flopson remake for sure.

Yeah that one is highly unlikely to ever get a viewing from me.

The fuck is that music video tho? What a hot mess. It's amazing how much /sapphic/ content is around all of a sudden. Every tv show, commercial, movie…has something.

It really would be a featurette then, which would have been awesome. We need more rock opera!

Just imagine; a feature length horror film with music by Poppy, who also writes, directs and stars in it! She is a true auteur.

We’re going to add it to the film club when it releases, right? Maybe it will finally turn you into a poppy seed too!

I wanna check out Jean Cocteau’s 1946 adaptation, La Belle et la Bête. As much as like Linda Hamilton, the beast makeup looks like a bad parody.

>Yeah that one is highly unlikely to ever get a viewing from me.

According to Zach it is certified кино. Kinda interested to see if Flopson’s singing is as bad as they say though.

>The fuck is that music video tho? What a hot mess.

Yeah, it comes dangerously close to being pure smutt. They’re not even being clever about it, just shoving it in your face.

You’d think they shot enough footage to cover the full song, right? And they probably shot the thing on film in widescreen, so it would be cool to see a director’s cut version (maybe with explosions?).

Speaking of, someone made a rock opera based on Lovecraft’s ‘The Dreams in the Witch House’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iv8uBVi0pIU&list=OLAK5uy_ntle5pY7ShN5daQ0M_B8CpBBVgtNpgUBs

Yes, and no. She’s obviously committed to portraying a persona, also outside her videos, but her intentions are pure and her heart is in it. No one else can give the middle finger to the music industry and at the same time do it with a smile and make кино music videos.

Not my favourite Rammstein song or music video, but this one has girls making out in it.

I still haven't read any Lovecraft. But then again, I haven't read much of anything for ages. The voice actor in confession reminds me a lot of the voice that plays Raoul in this Phantom of the Opera dramatic reading.

Even if she had no input and say in the creation and development of the character she is still the star, portraying this weird and wonderful role for so long, never once breaking character.

We’ll see what happens now that Titanic is out of the picture, though I’d be very interested to see what he comes up with next too.

I do think she and Titanic worked together on the development of the character though, and the music videos.

<Aurora

It still hurts, guys ;_;

This fair, elfin girl with the voice of an angel giving a truly enchanting, magical performance, and in the back of your mind you can’t get rid of the blacked meme pic from her later music video…

It is especially sad and powerful seeing her perform in Nidarosdomen.

Here is the cast for Dreams in the Witch House: http://witchhouserocks.com/maddening-fear

In the main role you have Andrew Leman, and Sean Branney as the priest. Both are involved in the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society, and appear in their film adaptations of The Call of Cthulhu (2005), and The Whisperer in Darkness (2011). Unless I am mistaken they are both amateur actors – didn’t know they sang too, but there was something really familiar about their voices.

Some of the songs in Act Two are quite good IMHO.

>Yes, once I started I couldn't stop until it was resolved.

Indeed! Thankfully someone was seeding it at a pretty decent speed. It’s been a while since a show held my interest like that.

I know you are just trying to cheer me up, but thanks. Much appreciated.

That said, you could be right. A lot of these artsy types just do something they think is “æsthetically pleasing” without thinking about how it looks/what kind of message it sends.

>Argento did a version in 1998. And Morricone did the score!

<there are many differences between the book and the film (the biggest being that the Phantom is not disfigured).

WAT

It would be cool to see because Argento directed it though, and his daughter, Asia, is in it. Morricone’s score is probably top tier too. A bit worried about the late ’90s production date though; can’t think of anything good made by Italian giallo/horror directors post 1990 or so.

>>1872

wew! I know about that podcast. They’ve had Andrew Leman on as a guest, and the two hosts appear in the films made by the HPLHS, and worked on them as well. Sadly both hosts are legit soyboys who refuse to address some of the recurring themes in Lovecraft’s fiction since it makes them uncomfortable; they just avoid discussing these themes/ideas, and joke about Lovecraft just being an ignorant racist. Sad!

Yes, it manages to be almost lewd without resorting to cheap tactics like showing too much skin.

Just the way she is reclining on the récamier in the opening, with her legs spread, and then almost biting her lip with anticipation as she looks longingly out at the night-sky.

Could be another great song to use in a (sapphic, obvi!) vampire film, if you look at the lyrics.

I think that author sees MKUltra shenanigans and CIA conspiracies all over the place. Wouldn’t be surprised if he was a glow-in-the-dark tbh.

Even I could see she is dreaming, longing for the night. She certainly isn’t scared, though perhaps slightly apprehensive.

I can see it as being mostly in her mind though – hazy flashbacks of what has happened. You can see the masked guy asleep in her bed in the opening. That would explain the strangeness of the music video as well – the clearly artificial street, the ballet dancers, and the hallway with the arms reaching out for her. That last part might be a reference to Jean Cocteau’s 1946 La Belle et la Bête.

>I did find the doll weird though.

Yeah, it is a real shame the MV is in so low res.

Just looked it up, and this MV was directed by (((William Friedkin)))! I just shat on him in a thread over at the bunker the other day.

First Michael Bay and now Friedkin? How many directors started shooting MVs?

You can be a lot more experimental and have more fun than on a feature film, I think. Not sure how well it pays though – and when was the last time we had some mainstream artist/band put out a memorable music video?

This mcmolo chap seems breddy cool. Reading his comment below made me think of embed related.

<while there are multiple conspiracies of action running at any one time, if you push your way past all the conspirators and get to the metaphorical back of the boat, you'll find the human race is on a rudderless ship. No one group/individual dictates to the rest, and no consortium of groups/individuals truly rules the world. That's just how it seems to me. I get a kick out of the various theories and likely always will.

>You can be a lot more experimental and have more fun than on a feature film

True, a lot more room to move.

>and when was the last time we had some mainstream artist/band put out a memorable music video?

Can not even think of a recent example.

Ah yes, an entertaining remake that one.

Anything's possible.

Well, it took forever but we’ve gotten our first cases of the Corona virus too.

I think we all could do with some relaxing ASMR by Chelsea Wolfe right about now.

That really was relaxing. Very atmospheric.

>Well, it took forever but we’ve gotten our first cases of the Corona virus too.

RIP anon. How are people taking it there? I am very skeptical of our official numbers of infected considering our demographics. I am itching for them to close the school so I can bug out for a while. Alas everything keeps ticking over here while my skin crawls watching it all unfold. I get that it's already everywhere but I'd rather be in a less populated area if quarantines are instated or unrest occurs.

I think I've mentioned to you before how I get addicted to tracking happenings. Well this one is quite the happening. I have a problem.

Insanity isn't it. I was about to say your numbers had caught up to ours but we have more than doubled all of a sudden to around 50 cased that are acknowledged.

>Looks like it is all happening down in the capital for now.

Fark isn't this near where your ancestors lived?

>Hospitals and school are among the last places you’d wanna hang around during an epidemic.

I know right? For now I am shit out of luck. They are not even talking about it at school now. One mention a month ago about some students in quarantine and that's it. I am swamped with planning, marking, and upcoming events while also expecting it stop at any moment.

>Have you started prepping for the apocalypse?

I am a terrible prepper. About enough to sustain me for a couple of weeks if rationing.

>It helps having something to occupy yourself with, right?

I suppose so. Though it has been draining my sleep. Most world streaming updates are in the middle of the night here.

>Any idea what is behind it? Some Chinese bio-weapon gone wrong? That South Korean “death cult” plotting to end the world by infecting everyone?

The South Korean death cult is straight out of a movie eh. Incredibly effective. 1 lady to over 5000 spanning the entire country.

The proposition that China accidentally released it is more than plausible considering not too long ago they left a crater in Tianjin.

Just heard the latest number here is up to 86 now. If this continues I am going full innawoods.

Yeah, and just last month there was a massive outbreak of the flu; 310 students were home sick at the same time, at a school with 826 students in total: https://www.nrk.no/trondelag/massivt-influensautbrudd-i-trondheim-_-310-elever-syke-ved-samme-skole-1.14902663

>I am a terrible prepper. About enough to sustain me for a couple of weeks if rationing.

Guess it must be a lot harder to go off the grid/innawoods down there too, with all the creepy-crawlies you guys have down there, not to mention the high temperature probably makes it harder to preserve food.

>I suppose so. Though it has been draining my sleep. Most world streaming updates are in the middle of the night here.

Caught some of Mister Metokur’s latest streams about the outbreak, and it sounds like he’s got a similar fixation on the oubtreak like you, though I’m almost certain you’ve got him beat with that 4,4GB Corona folder.

Btw., back in the late 1890s/early 1900s Theodor Kittelsen did a number of illustrations for a book on the Black Death, and some of them feature original plague-death-chan! Her name is Pesta (Plague), and she carried a besom and a rake as she traveled the country; if she used a besom when she arrived at a farm she would kill everyone there, but if she used the rake a few would survive, escaping like leaves through the teeth of a rake.

And it probably should have stayed in the movie world tbh. Is that cult even mentioned in the mainstream news? It’d be kinda funny if it all went to hell because of Chinese incompetence and poor hygiene. You should check out the episode of An Idiot Abroad, where Karl Pilkington travels to China – he gets to taste toad, and visits a local Chinese market place I swear, the Chinese will eat anything. And when he’s on the bud he is sat next to an old woman he keeps coughing up something into her shopping bag. No wonder the Black Death and the Corona virus originated in China…

Myrkur is dropping new songs, so it’s not all hopelessness and despair – yet. The line in “Ulvinde” (“She-Wolf”) where she goes “Det er her at jeg vil leve, det er her at jeg vil dø” (“this is where I want to live, this is where I want to die”), that part still sends a chill down my spine.

Her “Leaves of Yggdrasil” video could have been directed by NWR: https://invidio.us/watch?v=ofm99bGPtn0

Holy mother of based, the dyke gang isn't just a thought experiment anymore. After reading the claim on /tv/ that t.A.T.u. were faux lesbians I decided to investigate a bit and while it turns out that is true, one of the singers has a dyke gang mentality. She wouldn't accept a gay son ("a fag" like she said in the interview) and said it "isn't natural" but wouldn't mind a lesbian daughter and said girls with girls are "aesthetically nicer".
