Everything from Invidious/YouTube embeds to WebMs & mp4 and everything else music related – not necessarily sapphic in nature, though that is a big plus.

Last night I dreamt the hot teacher and another female teacher (newly married and devout Christian irl) announced that they were now a couple and I was so upset.

Silly Sandman, that's not how this is supposed to work.

Yeah, perfectly on the level. Into gardening apparently, and they are really serious about fixing that house up. It was used to house new non-Western immigrants, so I reckon it could do with a touch up. Certainly the garden has been left untended to for years, so they should have enough to do when the snow melts.

I think one of them was on a reality dating show on TV a while back (obvi.)…

>I would buy a Tesla if I had money.

IKR. Already got one neighbour driving a Tesla, and no more non-Western immigrants in the neighbourhood. Things are starting to look up!

Came across this track by Mandy composer Jóhann Jóhannsson on a complication album by Röyksopp, and after that I had to go back and listen to his score for Mandy. Good times were had.

Not gonna lie, I despise Tesla. I wish other EV manufacturers that aren't hell-bent on using a cult-like approach to sell garbage got more love. Teslas are the Prii (that''s plural for Prius, like Lexii is for Lexus) of our time. There's a tendency among their drivers to be smug as if their poorly built soulless lithium-mobile is saving the planet. They're admittedly quick, though.

I would buy something like a Renault Twizy if I could, it appeals to my autistic sensibilities without the dishonesty a Model 3 has where they sell poor design as minimalism.

>hurr no buttons

Congrats, now you have to operate the AC with a touchscreen that isn't even properly integrated into the dash.

Elon Musk is the new Steve Jobs. Admittedly a business genius, but his dumb worshipers make me sick. SpaceX is really cool though, and I like the look of the Cybertruck. But the Model 3 is an insult to its buyers. The only button is the one to operate the hazards, and it's so poorly designed (almost disguised) that people have to be told by the salesmen where it is. And don't get me started on them removing features remotely.

Whatever it is I am glad they are turning that neglected garden back to its former glory.

Listened to some Cradle of Filth again now, and it turns out their music video for Nymphetamine Fix is another MV with a sapphic bent that completely escaped me the first time.

Beautiful song, and the Gothic æsthetic is gorgeous too. Some quite obvious Shakespere references in this MV as well, in particular the play The Tragedie of Hamlet, Prince of Denmarke; the death’s-head (“To be, or not to be, that is the Queſtion”), the play being performed on a stage, and what appears to be hebenon(?) being poured into someone’s ear.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hebenon – being the pleb that I am, I only recognised the (possible) reference from The Simpsons: https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=O41bHX7kUPU

The kiss appears to wake one of the characters, the Prince?, from a spell, or sleep, like in a fairytale. Later on the blonde woman who wakes the Prince with a kiss has a mask put on that appears to block her vision – blinded by love?

And in a further reversal all the characters are played by women – in Shakespeare’s time all the characters were played by men.

Idunno, I can appreciate her original songs as well. I do prefer some of the remixes of Heartbeat to the original though. Think there is a lot of untapped potential in the song My Love Is Better as well; they could improve that song and give it some extra kick/energy.

I read it because we studied sections of it in high school now that I think about it. And Baz Luhrmann's flick was all the rage. I think I just picked up Richard III' at a dollar book store and thought "why not?" I really would like to read more of his work, right after I get through the million others that are just lying there waiting for me to read them. Just waiting. I started Moby Dick'' like 3 months ago and am only about a fifth through. It's really engaging when I'm actually reading it but my discipline is so poor. Have to get back in the habit.

Did not care for Romeo + Juliet when I saw it back in the day. Maybe my tastes have matured somewhat since. Never was a fan of the “classics” they had us read in school. Imagine reading plays would be extra tedious tbh. Plays should be experienced on a stage, not read in silence.

Best of luck with Moby Dick though. I believe in you. You can finish that book!

Just noticed that Röyksopp included this track by Popol Vuh from Herzog’s Aguirre, the Wrath of God on their Late Night Tales compilation album. Popol Vuh also did the music for Nosferatu – Phantom der Nacht (1979), and many of Herzog’s other films.

Also, Florian Schneider, one of the founding members of Kraftwerk, died on 21 April this year. F

There’s a technique metal singers use to do that style of singing, “growling”, without damaging their voice – if you do it wrong you’ll end up sounding hoarse, maybe worse…

Tatiana moves from growls to harsh vocals effortlessly in the blink of an eye, and her clean vocals are stunning…

Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth does that switch between growls and clean vocals effortlessly too, but he’s growls are not as aggressive as Tatiana’s. Their sound reminds me of Opeth though, but I’m not familiar with Opeth’s later albums.

Tatiana has the most impressive metal vocals I have heard – she can go from clean female vocals to growls, unlike any other singer I can think of.

Quite. Apparently the film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, was banned here till 1982, according to the guys on the radio.

You often hear how they’d cut films in the UK (“video nasties”), but I’d wager it was worse here. Got hold of a VHS box set of the three Alien films some years ago, and they had been completely butchered by the censors! “The Last Supper” scene where the baby alien kills Kane was cut, so it went from the crew sitting down to eat, to them shooting Kane’s corpse out into space… If I hadn’t seen the uncut film before I would have been wondering what the fuck just happened.

He’s a good guy, but his laissez-faire approach to moderations emboldens low-effort shitposters to go nuts. Serious posts/threads were few and far between, and he is way too hung up on femanons finding the place. Like that is gonna happen.

>Catherine Zeta-Jones/Salma Hayek

I just watched Andy Sidaris’ Picasso Trigger (1988), and one of the new faces in that is Roberta Vasquez, who plays an agent nicknamed Pantera. She puts both Zeta-Jones & Hayek to shame. God, what a body! And the outfits she wears looks painted on. Thankfully it looks like she became a regular in Sidaris’s films.

It is like listening to two ents holding Entmoot, isn’t it? An Entmoot with a bunch of ads. I gave up when it became blatantly obvious they are trying to be so damn PC in regards to Indians/native Americans in two episodes in a row. Not sure if they are drinking the SJW Kool-Aid, or they are playing it safe not to scare away their sponsors, but either way it was a bridge too far for me.

There is another podcast called MonsterTalk (one of the two hosts is from Down Under), and I stumbled on another podcast on BitChute recently, called The Paranormies.

You can’t miss her. Close to getting Savage Beach too. Gonna watch all the films in the series. Fingers crossed Sidaris will give us some /sapphic/ scenes too. Only if you want to speed things up. If it is too much of a hassle, you’ll have to wait in a line for your wicked deed to be carried out.

Been listening to a lot of Death In June as of late, and the words on the track Hidden Among the Leaves comes from Yukio Mishima. As much as I enjoy seeing Biden making a fool of himself, and how fun it will be when Trump is re-relected and the salt mining season is back, it would be a lot safer to have someone like Gabbard on the Democrat side.

This Opeth music video reminds me of Edward Gorey’s book The West Wing, the one without any words at all and you have to interpret the illustrations yourself, but with women in corsets kissing.

F

According to the Wiki article a number of outlets and Grimes accused SOPHIE (amongst others) of “female appropriation” for using female names as their artist name. Maybe SOPHIE got a free pass after coming out as trans?

Loving the music; sort of a mix of Crystal Castles/Alice Glass and Poppy and Grimes.

>Sure.

Not buying it? 🤔 Trannies do tend to have a rather higher than average suicide rate, and suicides are up because of the lockdowns/pandemic too (at least in Japan).

If it was accidental, it does sound like a rather poetic, beautiful way to go, climbing up to see the full moon and then falling.

>Strange. Who cares what someone names themselves? Especially an artist name.

Guessing all the artists mentioned are white men. Then everything you do becomes some kind of “appropriation” or “-ism”. Sounds like SOPHIE found a loophole by using the trans defence. Only TERFs will attack you after that. God, what a bizarre shitshow we’re living thru; only thing we can do is sit back and let the trannies and the TERFs fight it out, maybe stoke the fires a little?

<Early in Sophie’s career, Sophie’s real-life identity was the subject of press speculation. Prior to coming out as a trans woman, some commentators accused Sophie of “feminine appropriation”, on the assumption that Sophie was a man using a female stage name.[60][61][62] In a 2013 Pitchfork e-mail interview, when asked about the choice of Sophie as a stage name, Sophie responded: “It tastes good and it’s like moisturizer.”[17]

Robert Anton Wilson said that “reality is what you can get away with believing. If you can’t get away with it, it ain’t real.” (https://yewtu.be/watch?v=yY5r_zox-a8). If enough weirdos consider something real and true, and enough journalists and politicians push something, it will end up being true; it will end up in books, documentaries, on Wikipedia. And they are pushing a whole lot of whacky ideas as true now, and in the minds of many bluepilled people it has already become reality.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reality_tunnel

Pretty sure I saw Blaire being mentioned in the news lately. Some more slander I think. As if being accused of being a TERF wasn’t bad enough, I think there was something about being right-wing. I thought you could get away with a lot more as a transsexual, but it seems you have to tout the party line and be a good leftist no matter what.

Here are two working archives of the Vice article that 404’d: https://archive.vn/DueFZ / https://web.archive.org/web/20201127054956/https://www.vice.com/en/article/8q3nq4/please-dont-let-2014-be-the-year-that-female-djs-are-a-novelty

>Nothing is stopping women from being DJs. Stopping men from the job doesn't make women suddenly better or more likeable DJs. Using a performer's name to attack their success is asinine.

Read a very harsh essay called “Silly Novels by Lady Novelists” by George Eliot a while back: https://archive.vn/xj20y

George Eliot was the pen name of Mary Ann Evans (1819–1880): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Eliot

Perhaps she chose a male pen name to avoid association with women who wrote “silly novels”? Whatever the reason is/was, it is hard to see why anyone would give a fuck about what name an artist or author uses.

Looks like Marilyn Manson is the latest to get #MeToo’d with abuse allegations. And that comes on top of the crime of “feminine appropriation”.

>The LOVE track is terrible.

Really? That bad? I love that harsh electronic noise mixed with soft, often distorted vocals; I think it works well together. Reminds me a lot of Crystal Castles.

>IKR. I am revisiting Bones again. Starting from S1. Would never be created today. Identifying sex and race by bone, oh no no no.

There was a memorable scene in Miss Sherlock where she (Sherlock) commented on a boy playing with a girl’s toy (turned out it belonged to his dead sister, and was relevant to the case). Guess they haven’t declines as much in Japan as they have in the West yet.

Only caught bits and pieces of Bones when it was on TV. Only thing I know is that David Boreanaz is in it (ex-army?), and Zooey Deschanel (nope, wrong sister) Emily Deschanel, and that it is sorta like CSI?

You just know they will either remove these old shows and films from streaming services, and then remake them. A blue checkmark on Twitter would find something problematic with just about any TV show made before the current year.

>reality is what you can get away with believing. If you can’t get away with it, it ain’t real.

Precisely.

>If enough weirdos consider something real and true, and enough journalists and politicians push something, it will end up being true

It may end up being believed. That has no bearing on whether or not it is true. More so on the extent of one's mental health/illness.

<One simply elects, consciously, whether or not to share the other's reality tunnel.

True. If one's reality tunnel includes an understanding of gravity or what we ascribe to it at least, and another's doesn't, who leaves their house through the front door? And who leaves their house through the 2nd story window? And who is likelier to survive the experience day to day?

>Reality-Tunnel: How Beliefs And Expectations Create What You Experience In Life

<You can see only what your reality-tunnel allows you to see!

Lol, I think there is a conflation between what is, and what is identified in much of these things. A = A, Not A = Not A. What we give meaning to as shapes, in this case the lovers and the dolphins does not affect the configuration of the image, it does not change the placement of pixels in either case. Those are what they are no matter the observer. Quantum physics on the other hand, yeesh. But then again, we live and experience our everyday lives without much consideration for the quantum state of things.

<just that our access to it is mediated through our senses, experience, conditioning, old beliefs, and other non-objective factors

Sure. And then there is willful ignorance and magical thinking. That way lies the destruction of civilisation.

>Here are two working archives of the Vice article that 404’d

Cheers.

<When pressed about how he would frame this event, he went onto say that although he would invest personal time in the organisation of it, "the thing is I can't pay them as much [as male DJs]. See when it's the festival, when you're doing 60-70,000 people, you can pay people more money.

Reasonable.

<It's not just the painfully apparent sexism in this that pinches at me, it's the defeatism too; that booking female DJs is such a poor commercial investment for a major promoter, in an exploding, near-billion dollar industry, that Richards would dock wages and scale back on events in order to "make it work". Richards judges not on ability alone, but on being female as a marketing tool.

What a load of tosh. I imagine the author has never had to manage money.

<dock wages and scale back on events

Supply and demand. If only money grew on trees…Does the author think that the organiser is keeping extra money from the female DJs? And purposely making their crowds smaller? The author is ignorant.

>Not enough females!

>ok we'll make a female DJ only event

>You're using females as a marketing tool!

<Using the feminine to create an air of mystique not only panders to the misogynistic stereotype of the woman as the voiceless and unseen figure, but in only engaging with the female or feminine on a surface level, it could go as far as to actively undermine women who rightly seek to just put in the work, and not have gender treated as a selling point.

Oh fuck off. Does the author say the same about drag queens? Or is that as yet a protected class?

<"I found it frustrating", he confesses. "Not because I wasn't getting the attention because I was male, but because I thought the concept of a magazine wanting to run a piece on female producers was weird. As though being female was some kind of handicap for them, and that if they were good at what they do then it should be, extra celebrated?"

Yep.

<I thought about changing it altogether, or at least doing variations on it, but then I thought that it might be more effective to use this weird situation I've found myself in in order to speak out about the issues that it's brought up, and try and frame it in a more positive way."

Imagine having to perform these gymnastics to avoid being eaten alive so that you can continue to have a career.

>Read a very harsh essay called “Silly Novels by Lady Novelists” by George Eliot a while back

Thanks for the link. Will get around to reading it eventually.

>Perhaps she chose a male pen name to avoid association with women who wrote “silly novels”?

Yes, quite probably. Avoid stigma. Have her work taken on its merits rather than through the lens of being a female author.

>Looks like Marilyn Manson is the latest to get #MeToo’d with abuse allegations.

He always rubbed me the wrong way and struck me as a creep.

>Really? That bad? I love that harsh electronic noise mixed with soft, often distorted vocals;

The contrast is too much for me on that one. Just puts me on edge.

>Guess they haven’t declines as much in Japan as they have in the West yet.

It's quite terrible in the West now. Almost full circle. With traditional gender roles being used as evidence for being born in the wrong body. Say goodbye to tom boys :(

>Only thing I know is that David Boreanaz is in it (ex-army?), and Zooey Deschanel (nope, wrong sister) Emily Deschanel, and that it is sorta like CSI?

YES. I hated the character of Angel and Boreanaz is compelling enough in Bones that I now see him as the character of Booth. Yes like CSI but I don't know, there's something about it that got me into it. Better dialogue perhaps. Or maybe because it was based on the books of an actual forensic anthropologist. It's quirky and quite addictive. I only ever saw it years ago now and then so it's fun to watch it from the start. Emily Deschanel is kind of autistic in it so maybe that's why it's so entertaining.

>It may end up being believed. That has no bearing on whether or not it is true.

Sure, it doesn’t rule out objective truth, but when you have the vast, mast majority of journalist and people in the media present a narrative, it might end up being the accepted truth. Wikipedia uses these kind of sources; most people only Google something and end up at the Wiki article. If only a fraction of people see through the bullshit, it has become truth to most people.

>Quantum physics on the other hand, yeesh. But then again, we live and experience our everyday lives without much consideration for the quantum state of things.

“Today’s scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. The scientists from [Benjamin] Franklin to [Samuel] Morse were clear thinkers and did not produce erroneous theories. The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane. Though free to think and act, we are held together, like the stars in the firmament, with ties inescapable. These ties cannot be seen, but we can feel them.”

— Nikola Tesla

>What a load of tosh.

That is modern-day journalists for you. These individuals have no idea how the real world outside their big city work.

>Oh fuck off. Does the author say the same about drag queens? Or is that as yet a protected class?

Yes. Saw YT had two hideous-looking drag queens be the hosts of some YT Award for 2020. Drag queens are probably more likely to get the axe first, since they are not even pretending it is anything other than sexualization and fetishism of the feminine driving them.

>Imagine having to perform these gymnastics to avoid being eaten alive so that you can continue to have a career.

Sounds like business as usual in the entertainment business these days. You make one wrong comment in an interview and the blue checkmarks will be demanding your removal.

>Have her work taken on its merits rather than through the lens of being a female author.

What about unisex/neutral pen names, or artist names? If you know what will happen these days, that could be the way to go. Or just use initials and surname.

>He always rubbed me the wrong way and struck me as a creep.

That was part of his image. For the ’90s and early ’00s that was considered cool and edgy. Now it is pretty vanilla stuff. But I’m guessing a lot of people still have that image of him in their minds now, making it easier to believe any claims made against him. Everything from sexual abuse to making his Jewish GF help him collect Nazi memorabilia. It just seems like another smearjob to get the guy cancelled. They pushed blame on him for the Columbine massacre back in the day too; because the shooters listened to him, and because of his image.

>Say goodbye to tom boys :(

Never thought about it that way before. You are right. Tomboys are gonna end up being an endangered species now.

>The contrast is too much for me on that one. Just puts me on edge.

Then this fitting hymn might be more your thing.

“Material” performed by Terry A. Davis. Lyrics: Terry A. Davis / Melody: God

>Bones

NCIS had that qt Goth chick with the ponytails, and CSI has the memes (CSI: Miami in particular). never could get into NCIS, but I watched a lot of CSI back in the day. With things being what they are I doubt I can get into a current year show; maybe Bones is worth a try?

>Emily Deschanel is kind of autistic in it so maybe that's why it's so entertaining.

Seems like that is the new character trait now. Sherlock and The Big Bang Theory, and even Miss Sherlock, you have this weird, yet adorable autistic character who tells it like it is (leading to awkward situations), and needing a tard wrangler partner to reel them in at times. In The Last Days on Mars (2013) the best character (Kim) was also this straight-talking science-focused tomboy. Really enjoyed that one, quite underrated for a science fiction horror film IMHO. (((Romola Garai))) who made that awful Amulet film last year is in it though, and as the romantic interest no less. Kim all the way for me.

Get the autistism here; she seems awfully naïve, but I suppose that is fitting if her character has only been conserned with science and university life and not how courts work.

Did he died?

Oof! Big yikes. When did you join #RoseArmy?

Turns out DIE HEXEN is /sapphic/, especially this MV.

Btw., Refn; I was listening to Chelsea Wolfe’s ASMR edition of Be All Things and in the introduction where she talks about the inspirations for it, as she brushes a raven feather against her arm, she goes: “The language of the lyrics was inspired by poetry and books of times gone past; you can imagine morning sunlight brushing of your skin like a soft feather, you can imagine an unkindness of ravens with their rattles and caws; hunting and alerting the others of coming dangers.”

The lyrics of the song mention ravens as well.

wew! Just found this all-female Japanese Lovecraft-themed synth/metal band called NECRONOMIDOL and the first track on their brand new album is called TUPILAQ

https://necronomidol.bandcamp.com/album/v-mjelseriter-2

If they had named a song after Lovecraft’s cat I would have fallen out of my chair
