And now, their lives at the Menagerie are very reported by Blake to be dangerous, but it's all because of natural perils in the island such as the wildlife and the fact that most of the island is desert, and I'll tackle this later with some questions.
Their products at the market, if I recall correctly, were mostly seafood, as if they don't know any developments in agriculture or are not taking advantage of it. Not only that, they aren't any trade embargo by any state or nation in the Remnant, and it is explicitly said that the overseas workers of their kind are given equal pay.
We can now naturally assume many things:
1. They have an inborn advantage.
2. Their decisions are questionable. I mean, if they got the Menagerie, a naturally dangerous island, because they won the latest war, it's either it was given to them or they chose it themselves. If it was given to them, why are they letting the defeated enemy of the wars impose on them? If they chose to live there, didn't they scout it first before settling there? Either way, what the fuck are they thinking?!
3. They are subject to economic discrimination at all, yet don't take advantage of international trade and agricultural technologies that can help them in the long run to improve their lives.
So, I can only judge, by these factors, that the Faunus in general, are fucking retarded.
