What's the current status on Tattoos in Japan? I look very gaijin (aryan), there's no way I'll get mistaken into a yakuza member or the like. Will I still get kicked out of Onsen etc.?

>kicked out of onsen
Does that actually happen? Always thought it was just one of those memes people made up about yakuza. Anyway I really doubt anyone will care and probably not even give it a second thought unless you've got some crazy full-torso/body tattoo or something. I never went to an onsen/sento when I was in Japan but I imagine it's like everything else there where people will be very non-confrontational unless you seriously make problems. You probably should concern yourself more with the public bathing etiquette rather than worry about tattoos, basically.

/rec/ has become home of actual discussion about things anime and japan related.
That should give an idea of how poorly moderated /a/ has become.

Hitler said Germans and Japanese were more related than one would like to believe. In a non-canon episode of Rurouni Kenshin…a German Merc elucidates that his people are very much the same as the Japanese (almost as if he were saying that in very ancient times, both were of the same race) to his female ninja companion.
It is simply an anime. A cartoon as it were…but even so I did notice that part of it. Hmmm.
