So I gather the characters you are looking for are "boyish", somewhat polite, shy boys that have a certain determination deep inside?
There's got to be tons of characters like that, but I just can't think of too many right now. I'll post more suggestions as soon as I cani come up with any.
In the meantime, give "Made in Abyss" a try. The characterdesign or Reg might be more monsterboy than what you are used to but I think you'll like his behaviour and personality.
