I used to use Taiga in combination with MAL, which worked really well until MAL dicked itself over, and those retards still haven't fixed the API in months. Taiga can detect whatever you are watching and update lists for you.

I use mangarock. tt notifies me whenever a new chapter of my favorited manga updates.It cost a couple of bucks if you want it ad-free, though.
