Kind of a weird thread I suppose, but here goes. I'm having trouble watching anime about teenagers or High School (so 95% of anime) since my teenage/high school years were so shit. I get very jealous of the characters experiencing young love, going on adventures and all that since that's something I completely missed. Any tips on how to deal with this?

Fundamentally, the trick is to remain bitter and cynical about reality but enjoy the simple fact that more interesting/satisfying worlds potentially exist because of people's dissatisfaction. If the world weren't shit and constantly disappointed people, there would be no fiction because there'd be no need for it. This applies to far more than high school anime, it's basically applicable to anything; books, vidya, other anime, etc.
