Actually it is the fat-shaming crowd who are failing to calibrate the appropiate level of coddling that is required for our sad world right now. And I'm being extremely charitable here and assuming they aren't mostly immature kids just bullying. Are you trying to get them fit and beautiful or are you trying to get them depressed?
It is people like you that end up giving fuel to ideas like fat-acceptance. I am disgusted by fat people too, as they themselves are. Bullies masquerading as some kind of crusaders are even worse.
I can respect someone who sees the problems with fat-acceptance and works pragmatically and compassionately to fix and counteract this tendency (While understanding where it came from in the first place, and working on something that better satisfies or eliminates those impulses, without causing problems). I can't respect vitriolic bullshit though.
