I found something that's creeping me out.
Turns out group selection is real and we have proof now. Nightshades selecting for self-rejection, object level boring bla bla bla https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/ioWH9ERY3TTzRJFTD/group-selection-update
It also turns out that the whole thing is obvious (anyone with half a brain knew before we had proof) and compatible with reductionist gene-centric models, that is, the people claiming it wasn't possible were "not even wrong".
Now it gets creepy. There are way too fucking many articles, books, etc. going back a long time about how group selection is a dangerous, misguided, etc. (heretical) mistake. Yudkowsky wrote "The tragedy of group selectionism", Steven Pinker has "The false allure of group selection"…
All of them are on the same side! Replacement of all fun activities (it's all signaling/romanticism anyway) with fun pills, maximum atomization, selfish masturbationism, destroying metis out of spite, etc.
It's obviously not a conspiracy but damn, I didn't expect alien memeplexes to be that capable of brainwashing otherwise intelligent people. Yud is smart enough I'm tempted to believe he's just lying but also passionate enough I could buy him lying to himself.
We have to figure this shit out /ratanon/ so help me here. What stands to lose if people understand individuals / genes are not the only real agents?

Why are you distinguishing groups and equating genes and individuals?

I'm not, it works at all levels.

People think agency and selection only works at those levels but it works at all levels.
Maybe I wrote it poorly, maybe you're being obtuse, that's what I meant anyway.

Lol, more "not even wrong" bullshit. Dude doesn't even understand the concept, thinking group selection goes against "the selfish gene"
Thankfully we have proof so none of it matters anymore.

If your "group selection" goes against selfish genes, it's wrong.
If your "group selection" does not go against selfish genes, you can just model it on the gene level and group selection is irrelevant.

>You can just model it at the gene level
No, I can't, because I'm not a matrioshka brain. Importantly, it can be safely modeled at all levels so focusing on genes just to satisfy sophists is ridiculous.

Scott on class warfare:
>But this is really weird and interesting – much more interesting than it looks. It suggests that, in the presence of a useful selfish goal to coordinate around, a value system will “spring up” that convinces people to support it for altruistic reasons.
>I’m talking about a moral system which is genuinely self-sacrificing on the individual level, but which when universalized has the effect of helping the rich person get richer.
>There’s some sort of spooky system that generates heartfelt moral philosophies on demand to solve coordination problems
Ding ding ding!

(((They))) don't want you to believe in group selection because if you do you'll realize that Jews have group-evolved to parasite off goy societies, hence (((their))) support for progressive policies (anti-racism, anti-religion, pro-globalism) leading to the breakdown of goy social norms that don't suit them, and the atomization of goy groups that would oppose them

Why can't us goys do the same then? There are many more goys compared to Jews and hence we can make the same technique even more effective.
This is what I don't get about antisemites. Why not imitate Jews instead of bashing them?

Jews are presumably a bit more group selected than most but they're not at all parasitic.
There's something much more interesting going on here.

This board's denizens are all outliers. You might as well take a black rationalist posting about their IQ here as evidence against black IQ being low.

Nah. Natsoc leaders had high IQ. My point is that people need to learn from other successful people.
Everybody can learn something from the Jews. The absurd thing about antisemites is that they simply consider Jewish things immoral and refuse to consider them.
That's really similar to black power and their "fuck YT".
