What's the most ethical thing I can do with my life as someone who has bipolar disorder? Should I reproduce? I attempted suicide when I was younger. I'm struggling in university (4th year at 25). I have an IQ of 127. 90% of marriages that have a bipolar person in them end in divorce. I'm basically broke, and living off my wealthy parents. I'm going to have to go take the job I had as a teenager to finish paying for school. I am totally humiliated and at rock bottom.

Christians would just say to persevere no matter what, and just do the conventional thing of raising a family, but I'm not so sure.

What's the rational course of action? Feel free to ask more questions. I'm in the top 1% of family wealth globally, but I feel like a loser.

Are you being treated for bipolar? How effective, subjectively, is the treatment?

>Are you being treated for bipolar?

Yes. Sorry, I forgot that so many people don't take their meds.

>How effective, subjectively, is the treatment?

The treatment is like 100% effective if I take the meds. The catch is that the meds make you fat. At my heaviest, I had a BMI of 41. I have since learned how to not be fat from Dr. Jason Fung. I can only eat 20 grams of carbs or less per day, every day, or I get fat. I enjoyed it at first, but it's been two months how and I miss potatoes, rice, pasta and other things. I rarely defecate, and when I do it's just small. I hate eating this way, but it's the only way I can lose weight. I'm down 15 kg. I get 80% of my Calories from fat, 15% from protein, and 5% from carbs.

>What's the rational course of action?

Rationality is a means. The rational course of action depends on your values. What do you think those are?

I don't have any money for groceries right now. Thinking about getting a job. My parents basically lied and said they could support me, but they can't.

Green beans = 3 grams of fibre for every 6 grams of carbs. Very cheap all year round frozen. Safest of the legumes if you're worried about gay tadpoles.

Post your food budget if you think you can't afford green beans,

I'm not supposed to have a food budget. I won't have to worry about it once I start paying my own tuition again. Canadian tuition is cheap.

isoflavones, found in legumes - soy, clover, peanuts, beans etc. Causes fertility problems in sheep, might be of concern for humans too, the research is inconclusive.

Soy is absolutely packed with the stuff but green beans are so low it's a non-issue.

I'm saying low carb diets are typically expensive with all the eggs, meat, cheese and oil involved. You could afford that for two months of dieting, so why can't you fit in a few dollars of cheap vegetables to keep yourself regular? If your parents were footing the bill ask them for some green stuff.

Read over this list https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_with_bipolar_disorder Figure out what people with bipolar can be good at. Compute the intersection of those activities and activities that have positive EA impact. Profit. Seems like bipolars are good at creativity? Try to generate new ideas related to EA or friendly AI or some topic that interests you during next manic period.
