‘I Don’t Like What I Do’: Chris Cuomo Goes On Rant About How He Hates His Job

CNN’s Chris Cuomo trashed his job during a rant on his Sirius XM radio show Monday following a novel coronavirus diagnosis. Cuomo began “Let’s Get After It” by updating listeners on his recovery after being diagnosed with the virus March 31. He then diverted into a speech about how the virus has made him rethink his life, adding that he doesn’t “like” what he does for work. The rant was first reported by the NY Post.

“It made me think hard about who I am and how I live and what matters to me and what I value, and I haven’t come to any really hard conclusions about how change will look, but change is coming,” Cuomo said on his radio show. “Why? Because I don’t want to spend my time doing things hat I don’t think are valuable enough to me, personally.” “Like what? Well, I don’t like what I do, professionally, I’ve decided … I don’t value indulging irrationality, hyper-partisanship, I don’t think it’s worth my time anymore.”

Cuomo added that he doesn’t want to spend “time trafficking in things” he thinks are “ridiculous.” The CNN host then began to tell a story about “this dick” on a bike during Easter Sunday who was allegedly telling him how he should still be quarantined in his basement. “I don’t want some jackass, loser, fat tire biker being able to pull over and get in my face and in my space and talk bullshit to me. I don’t want to hear it,” Cuomo said, adding that he can’t say anything during times like that because he’s “a celebrity.” “That matters to me – me being able to tell you, ‘you shut your mouth or I will do you the way you guys get to do each other …’ I want that back. I want to be able to tell you to go to Hell, to shut your mouth, I don’t wanna hear it.”

The CNN host said that being able to do that “matters to me more than making millions of dollars a year.” He noted that he’s saved his money and doesn’t “need it anymore.” Cuomo said that it would be nice to be able to tell someone, “I don’t respect what you’re saying, I don’t respect your presence in my existence and you’re gonna leave or I’m gonna make you leave.” “I value that more,” Cuomo said.

Cuomo continued with his rant, saying that he feels as though he’s “being perceived as successful in a system” that he doesn’t “value.” He added that he values “being able to live my life on my own terms” then what he does for a living and that he doesn’t feel he makes a difference.

The 49-year-old also talked about President Donald Trump during the segment, saying Trump is “full of shit” and that he’s tired of dissecting the president, according to the NY Post. “So, I’m gonna make changes,” Cuomo reiterated. “Why? Because I’ve gotta be happy. Why? Because life is short. Life is short. And I’m pretty far down the road – I’m gonna be 50. I’ll never be [Fox News’s] Sean Hannity. I’ll never have this mass following that echoes a political set of ideas and principles that I’ll agree with. News Corp says acquitted cardinal faces new claims over alleged incident in the 1970s when he was a priest in Ballarat

Cardinal George Pell is being investigated by police over a new allegation of child sexual abuse, according to News Corp reports.

Pell was released from jail last Tuesday after the high court acquitted him on five historical child sexual abuse charges. Pell, 78, spent more than 400 days in jail after being convicted by a jury in December 2018. The high court acquitted Pell after finding the jury should have held a reasonable doubt as to his guilt.

Pell has given an exclusive interview to his longtime friend and supporter from Sky News, Andrew Bolt, which is due to air on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday the Herald-Sun reported that Pell was being investigated by police over an incident in the 1970s, when Pell was a priest in the Victorian town of Ballarat. The report did not suggest the allegation was true, and Pell has always vehemently denied all allegations of sexual abuse against him.

A Victoria police spokesman said: “Victoria police will not be providing any comment in relation to these allegations.”

Guardian Australia has contacted the Catholic archdiocese of Sydney for comment.

Pell’s spokeswoman, Katrina Lee, was quoted by the Herald-Sun as saying: “In any police matter there should be due process through the proper channels.”

In a preview of the Pell interview released by Sky News, Bolt alluded to the possibility of new investigations and said Pell would respond to questions about Victoria police in the interview. In the preview Bolt asks Pell: “How would you react if the Victorian police were to keep trawling for victims, keep trawling for attempts to prosecute you?”

Pell responds: “Well, I wouldn’t be entirely surprised. But who knows. That’s their business.”

At a Victoria police media conference on Tuesday afternoon, deputy commissioner Shane Patton was asked for his response to allegations police had a vendetta against Pell.

Patton said: “I don’t have any comments to make at all in respect to Cardinal Pell.”

Bolt wrote numerous opinion pieces in support of Pell before the criminal case had concluded.

The conclusion of Pell’s criminal trial last week sparked renewed calls for the federal attorney general, Christian Porter, to release the redacted sections of the child sexual abuse royal commission’s final report that related to Pell. The commission, which examined institutional abuse throughout Australia, published its final report in 2017 but pages relating to Pell were blanked out so as not to jeopardise his criminal case.

However, a new criminal investigation may place the release of the commission report in doubt. The redacted section examines the actions of Catholic church authorities in Ballarat, including at the time when Pell was a priest in the region.

Pell was cross-examined by the commission in 2016 on what he knew about the notorious paedophile priest Gerald Ridsdale, who was a friend of Pell’s at the time in Ballarat. Pell responded: “It was a sad story and of not much interest to me. I had no reason to turn my mind to the evils Ridsdale had perpetrated.”

Pell shared a house with Ridsdale and sat on a committee of priests who made decisions to move Ridsdale from parish to parish.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — After a viewer sent CNYCentral a video of a group of people playing soccer at Henninger High School in Syracuse, Onondaga County District Attorney, William Fitzpatrick, said there are punishments that can come if people don't follow the guidelines.

"If you have a gathering of more than 10 people, you're playing a sporting event or having a tailgate party or whatever, you’re breaking the law," he said.

He said the first encounter with a group will be a warning because they want to give people a second chance.

"If you’re going to be flagrant about it and you’re going to be just selfish about it, quite frankly you’re going to be prosecuted," DA Fitzpatrick said.

He said the second encounter could included a ticket worth at least $1,000 as well as a possible criminal record.

In regards to the video sent, DA Fitzpatrick said the police responded to the gathering.

"Enforcement told the people to disperse. If we see the same kids and, they were mostly young people, they think they’re in vulnerable, if we see them back out there doing it again they’re going to start after issuing tickets," he said.

Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon said it is police department and park rangers responsibility to break up these gatherings.

“We’ve given the tools to help enforce these policies, if they chose not to enforce them, that’s on them," he said.

The district attorney said they have not issued any tickets so far, but departments are willing to do so.

The Syracuse Police Department responded to a total of 21 calls of gatherings from Friday to Sunday, issuing no tickets.

"We’re not looking to arrest people," DA Fitzpatrick said.
