But, as much as we feel like criticizing some people’s behavior online, it’s also true that many people display a capacity for grace under pressure, using humor to face even the harshest reality of an impending WW3.
In the last few days, a viral meme trend has arisen that’s a good example of that: social media users are posting humorous content about how North Korea’s dictator Kim Jong-un, who Donald J. In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, the president noted that Russia could theoretically stop supplying gas to Western European markets immediately rather than in a month, as proposed by the EU. Moscow, he suggested, could instead concentrate on more promising markets elsewhere.
Formally, no final decision has been made. Putin has only instructed the government to study the issue. But even this preliminary statement should not be dismissed as rhetorical flourish. It carries a clear meaning.
Contrary to what some observers assume, the signal is not primarily directed at the EU or other external players. It is addressed to economic actors inside Russia who still hope for a return to the old model, one in which the country’s energy industry was built around “traditional markets” in the West.
In more human terms, the message could be interpreted as follows: are you certain that Western Europe remains a reliable partner?
The warning is simple. The current surge of EU interest in Russian oil and gas, fueled in part by instability in the Persian Gulf, may prove temporary. Betting the country’s long-term strategy on such fluctuating demand would be risky.
For this reason, the emphasis on “promising markets” in the president’s remarks should not be overlooked. Putin rarely uses words casually in public speeches. In this case the term was clearly stressed, and the implication is obvious: Western European markets are increasingly viewed as declining rather than promising.

The BBC has been accused of mistranslating remarks by Pete Hegseth about the conflict with Iran, after a speech was altered in a way that suggested the United States was targeting the Iranian “people”.

The decision blocks enforcement of Indiana’s abortion ban for a certified class of plaintiffs and members of the activist group “Hoosier Jews for Choice,” who argued that abortion can be a religious practice.
In the order, the court accepted arguments that abortion may qualify as a form of religious exercise protected by Indiana’s RFRA if individuals claim their beliefs require terminating a pregnancy.
The ruling states that the plaintiffs believe their religion can require abortion under certain circumstances, including situations involving mental, emotional, or physical wellbeing.
“The organization and its members believe that under Jewish law, an abortion is directed to occur if it is necessary to prevent physical, mental, or emotional harm to a pregnant person, even if there is not a physical health risk that is likely to cause substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function,” the court wrote.
Judge Klineman concluded that enforcing Indiana’s abortion restrictions against people who claim such beliefs would “substantially burden” their religious exercise under state law.

The US attack on an Iranian ship returning from a naval exercise hosted by India was a blatant breach of international maritime norms, former Indian diplomat Kanwal Sibal has told RT.
A US submarine sank Iranian Navy frigate the IRIS Dena on Monday, 40 nautical miles off the city of Galle in southwestern Sri Lanka. At least 87 people were killed in the attack. The Sri Lankan Navy and Air Force, with assistance from the Indian Navy, conducted a major rescue operation, saving 32 sailors.
Attacking the unarmed ship returning from the naval exercise in the Indian Ocean was “unnecessary,” former Indian Foreign Secretary Sibal told RT.
“They [the US] were aware the ship was there. They had the plane capable of surveillance. And then they position themself at a spot to make sure the frigate was sunk. It is nothing to boast about,” he said. “If they wanted to attack it, they could have done it when it was close to Iran where the war is taking place,” Sibal said.
India had invited a host of countries, including the US and Iran, for its biennial MILAN naval exercise. The US Navy participated in the drills with a P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol and reconnaissance aircraft (MPRA) from Patrol Squadron, according to an official statement.
Sibal said ships do not come armed for the exercises. “So, it is not as if the Iranian ship was armed to the teeth. It is a bit embarrassing for India since we were the hosts [of the naval exercises],” he said.

Absolutely. Ground wars are more difficult now a days with the advent of hypersonic missiles, and the current known tactic of sniping through small holes in walls. It would be nice if these robots could be capable of seeing through walls and relay that info to troops in the formation. There are only seconds in a fire fight, and that could give us a tremendous advantage, and be the difference between life and death. Doesn't have to be perfect, just enough to fool an enemy at a distance, which is usually around 300 - 500 feet.

US Military:
Eventually the US will need to setup counter missile defenses around the mountain ranges of the Strait of Hormuz on both sides. Bridging the mountains is no easy task and the US Military should have aerial vehicles such as this, to go over the mountains, to carry personnel and supplies, and to immediately evacuate if necessary. Although we do have blackhawks, stallions, cobras, and apaches, these are harder to fly and takes years of training. As a monolithic solution, for the cost, they do not provide the disperse factor nor the time to theater that for the same cost, a series of these types of air transports can supply but would complement our helicopter and ospry mechanized forces. If we could build some of these units that are capable of carrying two, it could provide tremendous advantage. One thing that always bothered me about helo types, is that, most troops are not utilized until they land, whereas something like this exponentially increases utilization. ThankQ for your attention to this matter.

Records that should exist — about misconduct and spying on federal lawmakers — do not seem to be on file anywhere, nor is there an indication they were destroyed.
This is by design. The bureau developed its own system for handling its most explosive cases and has reserved the right to prohibit access to anyone, including Congress, which is charged with oversight of the bureau, and FBI agents themselves.
Racket News has obtained a 2023 user guide to a top-secret database for extremely sensitive info that cannot be held in the bureau’s normal filing system because of its classification requirements. So-called “prohibited access” files can be found in this database called “Sentinel Gold,” per the guide.
The database is an upgrade to Sentinel, the FBI’s case management system. Agents uploading data and documents to the Sentinel system apply one of three levels of access to the info, either unrestricted, restricted, or prohibited, according to a 2021 Department of Justice Inspector General report.
Information labeled “prohibited” will only appear in searches of FBI files for those who are granted special privileges. The members of this secret society can be counted on one hand, Racket’s Matt Taibbi reported earlier today.

The Sri Lankan Navy helped offload sailors from the second ship, the IRIS Bushehr, which had requested port entry due to engine trouble, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake told reporters on Thursday.
Like the sunken IRIS Dena, the IRIS Bushehr had also participated in a naval exercise hosted by India in February.
Dissanayake said the Sri Lankan Navy decided to formally take charge of the IRIS Bushehr and its crew after discussions with the relevant authorities, diplomatic missions, and the ship’s captain.
While Colombo is neutral in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, triggered by US-Israeli strikes on Iran, it will not allow its territory to be used by any nation in conflict, Dissanayake asserted.

Hopefully, we'll find some feeder pigs, and maybe we'll get a couple calves, too, if we can find a good deal. Pigs are definitely on the agenda.

Congressman Seth Moulton’s illegal immigrant guest during the State of the Union addressis referenced in police reports involving sexual assault and juveniles, police say.
The Herald submitted a public records request to the Secretary of State’s Office and the Milford Police Department =•regarding two reports, one from June and the other from September of 2021, where Marcelo Gomes da Silva was apparently named as the person of interest.==
The Herald sought the police report numbered 21-23101 dated 9/15/2021 featuring Marcelo Gomes da Silva and 21-16254 dated 6/30/21 also featuring the 19-year-old.
Milford Deputy Chief John Sanchioni denied both of those requests, indicating that the police report from June 2021“involves a sexual assault and juveniles,” and that the report from September 2021 “involves juveniles.” He did not elaborate.
The deputy chief simply wrote: “The records you are requesting are not public records inaccordance with M.G.L. c. 4 s. 7 cl. 26 (A). Report 21-23101-OF involves a sexual assault and juveniles. Report 21-16254-OF involves juveniles.”
Moulton brought Gomes da Silva to the State of the Union address Feb. 24 as his guest in a highly publicized trip announced earlier in the month. Moulton had posted on social media thathe had to allow Gomes da Silva to hide in his office after leaving the speech early due to social media posts about him by the Department of Homeland Security(DHS).
“Gomes DaSilva is an illegal alien who has no right to be in our nation. We are committed to enforcing the law and fighting for the arrest, detention, and removal of aliens like him,” said DHS in a post on Xabout Moulton’s guest.
A spokesperson for Congressman Moulton told CBS News the decision to escort Gomes da Silva out of the House gallery was made “out of an abundance of caution” due to DHS “targeting and harassing Marcelo.”
In an appearance on MSNOW following the address,Moulton called Gomes da Silva a “great American,” a “patriot,” and “a reminder of what courage looks like.”
“We all know Marcelo because of his tragic immigration story where he was thrown in a detention facility for days on end, sleeping on a concrete floor and not even given a Bible… and yet throughout that time he insisted on helping others, [was] more focused on translating for other detainees and helping them contact their families than even his own safety,” Moulton said.
“He wanted to come here and confront not just Donald Trump at the State of the Union, but his MAGA Republican enablers, who are my colleagues here in the House of Representatives, and he did that. He put a human face on this immigration tragedy and what I think so many colleagues saw is not just an immigrant, but a great American, a great young American, an amazing patriot, someone whose courage we should all emulate in these challenging times,” he said.
Following his visit to Capitol Hill, Gomes da Silva recently testified on Beacon Hill in support of proposed legislation to ban ICE agents from making civil immigration arrests in state courthouses and on other state-owned property.The bill would also ban sheriff’s departments from entering into any new 287(g) agreements in Massachusetts.

“It’s very important to note that a lot of kids that are growing up in our community now are going to build some type of anger not towards ICE itself but towards anyone they deem to be working with them. We should note that a lot of people are really nervous and scared about police officers and a lot of people don’t want to go off to work. I think it’s important for our community to go out and be able to build a better economy and work,” Gomes da Silva said while testifying before the House Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security on the Protect Act.
Gomes da Silva was held for nearly a week at ICE Boston’s Burlington facility back in May after agents detained him while he was driving his father’s car. ICE had been searching for da Silva’s father — a habitual traffic offender via speeding violations — on behalf of local law enforcement when they took him into custody.
Both Moulton and da Silva have claimed he was treated inhumanely during his detainment, saying he was “denied basic necessities, including access to a shower and a bed to sleep in.”
Moulton conducted an oversight tour of the ICE Burlington facility back in Dec. to follow up on a previous tour he made earlier in 2025. He told reporters following his Dec. visit that “the abuses of ICE need to be prosecuted. Not just defunded — prosecuted. They need to be held accountable to the law that they claim to enforce.”
ICE Boston says Moulton’s and Gomes da Silva’s claims are untrue.
The situation sparked a highly publicized feud between Moulton and Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, who called Moulton’s words “disgusting” and “pure political theater.”
Da Silva was reportedly in the U.S. on a student visa that had expired unbeknownst to him when he was taken into custody by ICE. An immigration judge later granted da Silva a $2,000 bond after determining he was not a danger to the public.
Following his release, Gomes da Silva received a wave of sympathetic media coverage and was invited by Gov. Maura Healey to tour her office at the State House.
Gomes da Silva responded to a request for comment by the Herald through his lawyer.
“I would like to respond to the Boston Herald’s irresponsible and outrageous reporting. I want to be clear: I have never assaulted anyone. I have never been contacted by the police about any accusations of assault,” Gomes da Silva said. “I only learned about these reports that allegedly include my name in them through the media. I have never seen these alleged reports. My attorney has since requested these alleged reports and was denied.”
A Moulton spokesman has told the Herald, “According to our review, Marcelo has never been charged with a crime.”
The Herald is appealing both the Milford Juvenile Court and the Milford Police’s denial of releasing Gomes da Silva’s background on the ground Moulton has turned the teen’s story into a public debate on ICE enforcement.

(CNN) — Russia is providing Iran with intelligence about the locations and movements of American troops, ships and aircraft, according to multiple people familiar with US intelligence reporting on the issue, the first indication that Moscow has sought to get involved in the war.
Much of the intelligence Russia has shared with Iran has been imagery from Moscow’s sophisticated constellation of overhead satellites, one of the people said. It is not clear what Russia is getting in return for the assistance.
CNN has asked the Kremlin and the Russian embassy in Washington for comment.
It is also not clear whether any single Iranian attack can be linked to Russian targeting intelligence, which was first reported by the Washington Post. But several Iranian drones have hit locations where US troops have been in recent days. An Iranian drone struck a makeshift facility housing US troops in Kuwait on Sunday, killing six US service members, CNN has reported.
One of the sources briefed on the intelligence said, “This shows Russia still likes Iran very much.”
The US also has intelligence suggesting that China may be preparing to provide Iran with financial assistance, spare parts and missile components, three people familiar with the matter said, though Beijing has stayed out of the war up until now. China relies heavily on Iranian oil and has reportedly been pressuring Tehran to allow safe passage for vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
“China is more cautious in its support. It wants the war to end because it endangers their energy supply,” one of the sources familiar said.
The CIA declined to comment. CNN has asked the Chinese embassy in Washington for comment on the suggestion China may be preparing to assist Iran.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters on Wednesday that Russia and China are “not really a factor” in the war with Iran.
Russia and Iran have been cooperating for at least the last three years on missile and drone technology, with Iran providing Russia with Shahed drones and short-range ballistic missiles to target Ukraine and helping to set up a massive drone factory to pump out Iranian-designed drones inside Russia. Iran has in turn sought Russia’s help to bolster its nuclear program, CNN has reported.
The US operation against Iran currently involves more than 50,000 troops, more than 200 fighter jets and two aircraft carriers, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper said this week, and administration officials have not said how long the war is expected to last. The US military objective, according to Pentagon officials, is to eliminate Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities, which Pete Hegseth said this week Iran was using as a “shield” to develop its nuclear program…
