Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has announced she is weighing a lawsuit against billionaire Elon Musk after he claimed she is controlled by drug cartels.
Musk wrote the comment on Monday after Mexican authorities announced the killing of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, the leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. He was responding to a 2025 post in which Sheinbaum rejected an all-out war on drug cartels.
In a video, Sheinbaum said “Returning to the war against the narco is not an option… it is permission to kill without any trial.” Musk responded that she was “saying what her cartel bosses tell her to say,” alleging that “their punishment for disobedience is a little worse than a ‘performance improvement plan’.”
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Sheinbaum said she was “considering whether to take legal action” and that “the lawyers are looking into it.” She said claims that she leads a “narco-government” are “absurd” and “laughable.” The Mexican leader has faced criticism over her national security policies amid a weekend surge in violence.
Cartel violence swept Mexico after drug lord Oseguera Cervantes, also known as El Mencho, was eliminated in a joint US-Mexican military operation in Tapalpa, Jalisco last week. The organization is among Mexico’s most powerful trafficking groups and has been accused of supplying large quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine to the US. Washington designated it a foreign terrorist organization last year.
The operation triggered unrest across Jalisco and at least eight other states, with videos circulating online showing smoke rising from torched cars and commercial buildings. Cartel members blocked roads, set vehicles ablaze, and looted stores. Clashes between the military and drug cartels in Mexico have raised concerns about the smooth staging of the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.
A 2006 military offensive against cartels under then President Felipe Calderon sparked bloody turf wars as gangs splintered, fueling a surge in violence that analysts say still drives Mexico’s high homicide rates.
Sheinbaum said she expects security to gradually return and rejected suggestions that the recent operation signals a return to a more aggressive approach.

Woman Arrested by ICE After Overstaying Her Visa for 12 Years
On 18 March, 2025, Lashar Smith was apprehended by ICE agents at Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International Airport for staying in the U. S. beyond her visa expiration date by more than ten years.
She was subsequently transferred to a detention facility in Baker County, Florida, and faced deportation proceedings under U.S. immigration law. Her partner, James Walkine, in a statement to the media, said that they were attempting to adjust her status through legal channels, but the process was hindered by bureaucratic delays.
I couldn't find any mainstream news sources which provide confirmation of the deportation outcome beyond the initial detention. Without official records (which for privacy reasons is not available to the public in individual immigration cases like this one),the facts at hand suggest that she might have been deported back in 2025. However, this is not confirmed.

State senator and congressional candidate Mike Simmons was reported to Chicago police while canvassing for votes in the North Side Buena Park neighborhood Friday.
In a video, Simmons is in the stairwell of an apartment building while a woman speaks on the phone. Simmons asks if she’s on the phone with the police, but she doesn’t respond and continues speaking on the phone.
“I’m not going to argue,” Simmons says in the video. “I’m gonna let you know that it is against the law to call the police on an elected official who’s knocking doors. I know because I passed the law in 2021(why would Congress get a law like that? Sounds bizarre!). So if you’d like me to leave the building, I would leave the building, butI am so disappointed in how you chose to handle the situation at a time when police have been known to get into deadly altercations with people of color.(wow the “innocent blacks killed by cops, shame game!! Weird!) I would expect more from my neighbors.”
Simmons had explained that he was canvassing in his campaign for Congress and that he served the building’s residents as their current state senator, he said. The woman asked for documentation from Simmons and the volunteers, and she ignored him when he told her to look up his state Senate website, Simmons said.
“She stopped talking to us; she literally just grabbed her phone and started dialing,” Simmons said. “She would not say a word to me.”
Police responded to the scene and Simmons spoke to them.
“She then called the police and ignored all attempts at a conversationby Simmons and the volunteers with him — all people of color,” according to a news release from the Simmons campaign. “After Simmons left the building on his own, Chicago Police did report to the scene a few minutes later, and Simmons spoke to them about the incident.”
Simmons sponsored a bill categorizing police calls on Black people as a hate crime when there is no active threat. Simmons said he was inspired to run for state Senate by protests after the murder of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. In his view, Simmons says he narrowly escaped a similar outcome because of fraught relations between Black people and police.
“When we got outside, what just flashed through my mind was images of dead Black people in interactions with police,”he said in the news release.“I spoke up on this because I don’t want to be complicit in the status quo that can lead to a Black person being killed and just becoming a statistic.”(WTF???, what about the majority of blacks killing blacks? This sounds like a setup.)
He’s campaigning in a crowded field to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky to represent the state’s 9th Congressional District. If elected, Simmons would be the first Black representative from the district.
He is the first Black state senator to represent the 7th District, which includes parts of the North Side, including Rogers Park, Uptown and Lincoln Square, andhe’s the first openly gay member of the state Senate.

That is the documented total in direct funding from the Open Society Foundations and personal contributions from George Soros to a cluster of progressive activist groups organizing the people’s state of the union.
It’s the left-wing counter program to President Trump’s State of the Union Address.
Here are the breakdowns:
Indivisible (Indivisible Project) — $7,610,000
Center for Popular Democracy Action — $3,585,000
Economic Security Project Action — $1,000,000
MoveOn.org Civic Action — $3,424,995 in OSF grants (2016–2024)
$2,500,000 personal Soros contribution (2003)
What The Grants Funded
Indivisible Project — $7.61 million
Open Society grantdisclosures list multiple awards to Indivisiblebeginning in2017, the year the group exploded onto the national scene organizing resistance to the Trump agenda. The grants were described as supporting “general operating support” and civic engagement infrastructure. In at least one instance, funding was routed through Tides Advocacy to support the organization’s operations. This group is responsible for mass organizing and protests against President Trump.
Center for Popular Democracy Action — $3.585 million
Open Society–linked funding to CPD Actionsupported national advocacy campaigns focused on social justice and left-wing voting causes. CPD has been a central player in progressive coalition-building efforts and coordinated campaign strategy around federal policy fights==. The grants reflect sustained institutional backing rather than one-off project funding.
==Economic Security Project Action — $1 million
Economic Security Project Action, known for pushing guaranteed income and direct cash transfer policy proposals==, received a seven-figure grant from the Soros network. The funding coincided with the broader progressive push to normalize stimulus-style payments and structural income reforms at the federal level.
MoveOn.org Civic Action — $3.42 million (OSF) + $2.5 million (personal Soros)
MoveOn’s financial relationship with Soros dates back more than two decades. In 2003, Soros personally contributed $2.5 million to the organization. Between 2016 and 2024, Open Society Foundations provided an additional $3,424,995 in grants. MoveOn has long specialized in mass email mobilization, digital petition infrastructure, ad campaigns, and rapid-response messaging for left-wing protests and events.
The common thread is not ideology alone. It is infrastructure. These grants provided general operating support, advocacy capacity, and sustained campaign resources.

The infrastructure of the nation’s federal courthouses is crumbling, plagued by collapsing ceilings, malfunctioning elevators and contaminated water supplies, a top representative for the federal judiciary declared in an unusual plea to Congress on Tuesday.
“Federal courthouses are in crisis. Without immediate action, the problems will continue to worsen,” Judge Robert J. Conrad Jr., director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, said in a letter to lawmakers. “Action is needed now to reverse a downward spiral of critical-system failures, long-term underfunding of repairs, security risks, and climbing costs.”
Conrad urged lawmakers to address the problem by giving the courts the power to build and operate their courthouses — tasks now handled by the General Services Administration.
While judges have groused for decades about neglect by their government landlord, complaints about GSA reached a fever pitch last year after haphazard moves by President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiencyinitiative radically downsized the agency and targeted some courthouses for sale without any input from the judges who work there.
The urgent missive the judiciary sent to Congress on Tuesday doesn’t make direct mention of DOGE,but it notes that GSA eliminated almost half its staff in recent months, creating security and safety risksby leaving no one on site at many courthouses to address hazards and urgent repairs. Legislation thejudges are backing would gradually transition existing courthouses from GSA to a new Judiciary Buildings Service.
GSA spokesperson Marianne Copenhaver said in a statement thatthe agency disputes the suggestion that courthouses are in “crisis.”
“While aging federal buildings present well-known challenges, [the judiciary’s]narrative omits critical context regarding our lack of access to GSA’s Federal Building Fundto address delinquent maintenance,” she added. “The American taxpayer is best served by theJudiciary focusing on the rule of law while GSA continues to focus on the federal real estate portfolio.”KEK

RNA Crop Spray: Should We Be Worried? Terrana Biosciences Has Developed RNA for Agriculture

A company called Terrana Biosciences has developed an RNA platform for agriculture. Here are just a few words from their website: “it fuses nature’s intelligence with machine intelligence to design RNA-based solutions for every aspect of plant health from seed to stem.” Flagship Pioneering put in a $50 million investment into Terrana – note that Flagship also helped launch Moderna.
The company is exploring 15 different aspects of their RNA platform, and one is plant vaccines and “protective agents.” The company is in the early phases of research and not approved for commercial use. It uses a process called gene silencing – the plant is engineered to produce a protective RNA that changes the DNA. This is a genetic modification (GMO) that is passed on to future generations of that plant to guard against a pest. The second process is spray-on RNA that is similar to a a pesticide but without the chemicals. It is meant to only target the pest, but it could have more widespread effects.

A win for President Trump and the Dept of Homeland Security. The DC Court of Appeals has ruled against the plaintiff argument seeking to block the IRS (Treasury Secretary Bessent) from sharing cross-reference information with the Dept of Homeland Security (Secretary Noem).
Bottom line, the IRS can share data with DHS to identify status of illegal aliens.
“The only issue that we decide is whether, on the sparse record before us,Appellants have met their heavy burden to make a clear showing that they are entitled to the preliminary injunctive relief sought. For the reasons indicated, we conclude that Appellants have not.”
(If every Trump decision or case ends up in the DC Court of Appeals, why don’t they fire the lower judges and close the lower courts and have all cases sent to DCCoA first? Cut out the time and money wasting!)

The Egg Nebula from the Hubble Telescope
Ever wonder what it would look like to crack open the Sun? The Egg Nebula, a dying Sun-like star, can unscramble this question. Pictured is a combination of several visible and infrared images of the nebula (also known as RAFGL 2688 or CRL 2688) taken with the Hubble Space Telescope. The star has shed its outer layers, and a bright, hot core (or "yolk") now illuminates the milky "egg white" shells of gas and dust surrounding the center. The central lobes and rings are structures of gas and dust recently ejected into space, with the dust being dense enough to block our view of the stellar core. Light beams emanate from that blocked core, escaping through holes carved in the older ejected material by newer, faster jets expelled from the star’s poles. Astronomers are still trying to figure out what causes the disks, lobes, and jets during this short (only a few thousand years!) phase of the star’s evolution, making this an egg-cellent image to study!

President Trump captured a fantastic momentwith the gold medal winning USA Mens Hockey team during his state of the union remarks. After the Olympic team spent time in the White House earlier in the day, the team was introduced during the state of the union with thunderous applause and chants of “USA, USA” from the chambers.
Even a few of the communists in the audience stood to applaud the team as President Trump highlighted his remarks about their success and the very unique nature of the team as a whole. A very American moment.

President Donald Trump welcomed the U.S. men’s Olympic hockey team, fresh off its gold medal victory over Canada, during his State of the Union address Tuesday.
“Our country is winning again. In fact, we're winning so much that we really don't know what to do about it,” Trump said.
“You're going to win bigger than ever and to prove that point, here with us tonight is a group of winners who just made the entire nation proud: the men's gold-medal Olympic hockey team,” he added, as the team entered the gallery to applause and cheers of “USA!”
The U.S. women’s hockey team, which also won gold, declined to attend the State of the Union “due to timing” and previously scheduled commitments, a spokesperson said.
Trump also announced he would be awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, to the team’s goalie, Connor Hellebuyck.
Trump’s address comes after 13 months of break-neck deregulation, a record number of executive actions, mass layoffs, aggressive immigration tactics and more.
Ahead of the speech, Trump was expected to outline his administration's accomplishments, make his case for keeping his party in power this November and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.

COLD CASE MURDERER DEPORTED
In 2009, Kemar Hamilton, a Jamaican criminal illegal alien, murdered a 58-year-old Jamaican immigrant father of seven in Bronx, NY — the victim had been shot outside his own home during a mugging.
Hamilton fled the scene.
While Hamilton hid from justice on New York streets, immigration officials were already processing his removal orders, and an immigration judge ordered him removed in 2009.
The case went cold until 2011, when Hamilton was arrested during a NYPD traffic stop for illegally carrying a loaded handgun.
The following year, investigators determined that Hamilton was a DNA match for evidence collected at the murder scene.
His other convictions include:
— Aggravated assault
— Smuggling contraband into a prison
— Attempted assault
— Criminal weapons possession
A judge in New York sentenced Hamilton to over a decade in prison.
ICE Buffalo officers arrested him, Oct. 6, 2025, upon his release from the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden to prevent his release into the community.
ICE New Orleans deported him last month.
