ICE to deploy tactical agents in Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Northern Virginia

This comes as cities across the country have seen anti-ICE riots.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is preparing to deploy Special Response Teams (SRTs) to five urban areas—Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and Northern Virginia—as chaos has erupted in major Democrat-run cities and areas across the country, according to an MSNBC report.

An exact timeline for the deployment remains unclear, but the order to stand by has already been issued to all Special Response Teams in the affected areas. Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York have long been hostile to federal immigration enforcement and have adopted so-called “sanctuary” policies that shield illegal immigrants from deportation.

Downtown Los Angeles saw a fifth consecutive night of violence as rioters took to the streets Tuesday, defying law enforcement and clashing with police. The riots prompted Mayor Karen Bass to declare an unlawful assembly and issue a mandatory curfew from 8 pm to 6 am.

Nearly 200 were arrested after refusing to disperse, and videos on social media show rioters vandalizing property, throwing objects at police, and setting fire to debris.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, mobs of protesters turned violent Tuesday night, with widespread reports of looting, vandalism, and attacks on law enforcement. Footage from the scene shows fires being set and windows shattered, as business owners scramble to protect their property. A car was also reportedly driven through a crowd of anti-ICE rioters in Downtown Chicago.

In Seattle, anti-ICE radicals and Antifa militants surrounded the Downtown Federal Building and blocked all entrances and exits. Radicals tore down American flags at the building and lit them on fire.

Earlier in the day, during comments at Fort Bragg commemorating the United States Army's 250th anniversary, President Donald Trump slammed anti-ICE protesters in Los Angeles, whom he described as "animals," for carrying flags of other countries and burning the American flag to protest federal detainments and deportations.

Trump also floated the idea of imposing a one-year jail sentence for burning the American flag. The president said, "These are animals, but they proudly carry the flags of other countries. They don't carry the American flag. They only burn it.”

The unusual collaboration between Chinese vaccine researchers and neuroscientists raises questions about how early China knew about COVID-19’s neurological symptoms, which are unusual for these types of viruses.

=ne of the smoking guns in the ongoing Trump administration probe into the COVID-19 cover-up is evidence suggesting that the Chinese suspected the novel virus may have neurological symptoms just weeks after it was officially identified, despite the fact that coronaviruses, historically, primarily affect the respiratory and digestive systems.

Specifically, two scientists listed as authors on the first Chinese patent for a COVID-19 vaccine—that remarkably came about a month after the virus crossed the border into the U.S.—are affiliated with a neuroscience institute in Beijing that works closely with the Chinese military.

The presence of these two researchers on the early 2020 vaccine patent in China is puzzling to federal investigators probing the origins of COVID-19, and its cover-up, because many of the virus’s long-term neurological effects were not a focus of Western scientists until much later.

Patent filed in China one month after COVID hits U.S.

The patent was filed on February 24, 2020, only about one month after the first laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 case appeared in the United States and shortly before the World Health Organization declared the spread of the virus a global health pandemic.

The patent was submitted by three Chinese entities—two located at the Academy of Military Sciences in Beijing, the Institute of Microbe Epidemy and the Institute of Military Medicine. The application describes the process Chinese vaccine makers would use to prepare a “COVID-19 protein vaccine” and “a drug for preventing or treating the COVID-19.”

Eleven Chinese scientists are listed as the inventors, including one previously identified by Senate researchers probing COVID-19 origins—Zhou Yusen, director of the State Key Laboratory of Pathogen and Biosecurity at the Academy of Military Sciences.

Zhou previously researched and developed vaccines for SARS and MERS—two coronavirus variants similar to COVID-19. He also partnered with the Wuhan Institute of Virology on at least two occasions.

Aside from questions about how rapidly Zhou and his team were able to file their patent, two of the scientists carry a perplexing affiliation with the Institute of Military Cognition and Brain Sciences at the Beijing Academy of Military Sciences. Little public information is available about the two scientists, Yan Li and Gencheng Han, but another published scientific paper identifies both researchers as part of the institute. At the time, before the spread of the new coronavirus was even considered a pandemic, COVID-19’s neurological symptoms were largely unknown in the West.

This has raised the suspicions of federal officials, who are questioning why scientists who specialize in neurology were not only consulted but participated in developing the first COVID-19 patent.

Weaponizing neurology is part of China's larger plan

Additionally, the Institute of Military Cognition and Brain Sciences is an opaque component of the Academy of Military Sciences and is home to scientists pursuing research into the Chinese military’s growing focus on achieving “mental/cognitive dominance,” which People’s Liberation Army strategists believe is important for future military conflicts.

Rep. Darin LaHood, R-Ill., a member of the House Intelligence Committee, says that China is engaged in a comprehensive strategy to replace the United States and that the cover-up of the early emergence of COVID-19 is part of that scheme.

“China has a plan to replace the United States, and they're working at it every single day. And I don't say that to scare people, that's the reality. They want to beat us technologically, militarily, economically and diplomatically. And the sooner we wake up to that, the better,” Congressman Darin LaHood told the John Solomon Reports podcast on Wednesday.

“And we've seen evidence of this through Huawei and what China… has done with Huawei, what we they've done with TikTok, what they've done now with Deep Seek, what they did…in terms of lying and being deceitful with the Wuhan virus,” he continued.

Possibly part of that effort: Chinese military strategists are actively developing new methods for using neurology to gain advantages on the battlefield, according to Elsa Kania, Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for New American Security.

“On the battlefield, attempts to undermine an adversary could include interfering with the adversary’s capacity for cognition, whether through manipulation or out-right destruction, from disrupting the flow of data to exploiting ideology or emotion,” she wrote in January 2020 for U.S. National Defense University magazine, Prism, which focuses on “emerging disruptive technologies.”

Kania concluded that this effort is connected to the Institute of Military Cognition and Brain Sciences, where one researcher by the name of Zhou Jin, who focuses on brain science and neural engineering, also contributed to “an expert group on psychological warfare and cognitive technology” through a high-level defense planning body in China.

Dr. Robert Kadlec, former Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the Health and Human Services Department during the first Trump administration, was the first to raise questions about the unusual participation of neuroscientists in the early vaccine research and patent process. Dr. Kadlec played a central role in Operation Warp Speed and held numerous executive and legislative branch positions in biodefense and intelligence matters.

In a report he wrote—"A Critical Review of COVID-19 Origins: Hidden in Plain Sight”— first published last September, Dr. Kadlec called Zhou’s collaboration with the brain institute “unusual for early vaccine research.”

“Significantly, their published research provided limited, or no data of neuropathology observed in the experimental animals, or the neuroprotection afforded by the vaccine,” he wrote.

“Institute of Military Cognition researchers’ involvement in such studies suggest an interest in the vaccine’s protection against SARS-CoV-2 early in the outbreak before evidence of its neurological effects were widely known,” Dr. Kadlec added later.

COVID's neurological impact

U.S.-based researchers, as recently as last year, found long-term neurological symptoms in patients previously infected with the COVID-19 virus that can last up to 3 months post-infection. These effects include neurocognitive deficits and sleep disturbances, according to research from Duke University.

Another 2022 study published in Nature, found that, following the acute phase of COVID-19 infection, patients are at an increased risk of neurological symptoms such as ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, cognition and memory disorders, peripheral nervous system disorders, and episodic disorders (i.e., migraine, seizures, etc.)

Some of the earliest research on COVID-19’s neurological effects came after the Chinese scientists submitted their vaccine patent. One of the first studies on these symptoms was published in April 2020 by a team composed of mostly Chinese doctors who observed cases in Wuhan, China firsthand. However, data collection for this study was ongoing just five days before the vaccine patent was submitted.

More support for "lab leak" theory scoffed at by Fauci, Biden, legacy media

Suspected early knowledge of neurological systems and the unusual circumstances surrounding the world’s first COVID-19 vaccine patent could potentially provide further evidence to support the theory that the novel coronavirus was not of natural origin, but instead manufactured—for research or nefarious purposes—in a laboratory.

Investigators are also pursuing another lead that shows an elite team of U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency scientists concluded in the summer of 2020 that COVID-19 likely was genetically manufactured and escaped a Chinese lab rather than evolving in nature, Just the News reported on Monday. But, that conclusion failed to make it into the official government assessments of the lab-leak theory.

The long-hidden study was only recently released by U.S. intelligence agencies responding to Freedom of Information Act requests, and is now also at the center of the ongoing investigation.

A DIA National Center for Medical Intelligence presentation showed the scientists concluded that the “SARS-CoV-2 Spike Appears to be a Chimera,” using the scientific terms for the COVID-19 virus and the “chimera" term for a genetically engineered pathogen that is a combination of pieces from two separate viruses.

The study—using complex genome analysis—also traced the process used for creating the new virus to an earlier manuscript that the Wuhan Institute of Virology published a decade prior— pointing to ongoing genetic research into coronaviruses at the laboratory, which has collaborated closely with the Chinese military, according to the U.S. intelligence community’s own assessment.

Trump could lead both US and Israel – Witkoff

The president’s special envoy has called his boss an “incredible friend” of the Jewish people

US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff has quipped that Donald Trump could serve as both US president and Israeli prime minister. While Trump has traditionally positioned himself as strongly pro-Israel, Witkoff’s remarks come amid reports of a strong rift between the US leader and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking at a fundraising gala for the emergency response group United Hatzalah in New York on Wednesday, Witkoff described Trump as “an incredible friend to the Jewish people.”

“No disrespect to Prime Minister Netanyahu, who I actually spoke to today, but I think President Trump could be the first sitting president who could be prime minister of Israel at the same time,” Witkoff said, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

The envoy also stressed that the two countries must act together to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, “no matter the cost.” Tehran has denied that it has plans to develop the weapons, insisting its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.

In October 2022, Trump said he “could easily be PM” of Israel, suggesting that “no President has done more for Israel than I have.”

The Trump administration has typically had close ties with Israel. However, media reports indicate that there are growing policy differences with Netanyahu over the war in Gaza and other regional issues.

According to CNN, Trump has urged Netanyahu to end the conflict with Hamas, which has brought unprecedented destruction and loss of life to the Palestinian enclave, while pressuring him to abandon plans for a military strike against Iran.

Tensions have also been fueled by the recent US decision to conclude a ceasefire with the Houthis in Yemen, who back Hamas, and the lifting of sanctions on Syria.

Netanyahu has stated that Israel’s goal remains the complete destruction of Hamas, promising last month that “all of the territories of the Gaza Strip will be under Israel’s security control” once the offensive in the enclave is complete. A former CIA analyst who admitted to leaking classified documents about a planned Israeli strike on Iran last year has been sentenced to 37 months in prison.

Asif William Rahman, 34, pleaded guilty in January to two counts of willful retention and transmission of classified information after being arrested last November for taking records from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in October that showed Israel was planning to launch airstrikes against Iran in response to the Muslim county's missile attack, according to the New York Post.

Rahman had been a CIA employee since 2016 and had access to top-secret documents, and the information he stole was leaked on social media platforms, which forced Israel to delay its attack.

U.S. District Judge Patricia Tolliver Giles sentenced Rahman on Wednesday to three years and one month in federal prison, which is less than the government had demanded.

“Asif Rahman violated his position of trust by illegally accessing, removing, and transmitting Top Secret documents vital to the national security of the United States and its allies,” U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Erik Siebert said in a statement.

“The urgency with which Mr. Rahman was identified, arrested, charged, and prosecuted is a testament to the commitment and professionalism of the investigators and prosecutors who brought him to justice. This case should serve as a stern warning to those who choose to place their own goals over their allegiance to our nation.”

On Oct. 17, Rahman sneaked classified documents out of the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where he worked, and photographed and then transmitted them to other people, before destroying the evidence, the Department of Justice said.

The next day, the top-secret documents appeared on the “Middle East Spectator” Telegram channel, and “appeared publicly on multiple social media platforms, complete with the classification ranking,” according to federal prosecutors.

The documents included intelligence taken from satellite images of an Israeli base taken on Oct. 15 and 16. The leak forced Israeli officials to postpone their attack until Oct. 26.

When Rahman worked in Virginia as a CIA analyst in spring 2024, he took five secret and top-secret documents, made copies of them, and gave them to people who weren't authorized to see them. He leaked 10 more classified documents in the fall.

“I fully accept responsibility for my conduct last year,” Rahman said in court Wednesday, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. “There was no excuse for my actions.”

His attorneys claimed that his actions were the result of “family-related grief” and a traumatic assignment in Iraq, which was compounded by Israel’s war against Hamas.

The US embassy in Israel will boycott this year’s Tel Aviv Pride parade and will not host any Pride Month events of its own, marking a stark departure from previous years.

Republicans Push Federal Ban On Blocking Interstates After L.A. Riots Cause Highway Chaos

Congressional Republicans are advancing a bill that would make it a federal crime to block interstate highways after mass demonstrations in Los Angeles caused major backups on key roadways.

Republican Rep. Mike Collins of Georgia reintroduced the bill, the Safe Passage on Interstates Act, in February after it stalled in the Senate last year. The legislation would create a federal law against the intentional obstruction of interstate highways.

“There is nothing ‘peaceful’ about the riots and looting we’ve seen in Los Angeles. Blue states and cities have shown that they would rather have lawlessness and disfunction over law and order, and we need to get these people off our streets and in jail where they belong,” Collins told The Daily Wire in a statement. “The Safe Passage on Interstates Act would give [Attorney General] Pam Bondi and [FBI Director] Kash Patel the tools to put an end to highway protests and lock these criminals up.”

The push to give more tools to federal authorities comes after demonstrators have repeatedly flooded the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles, stopping traffic and causing backups. Protesters again took over the freeway on Tuesday evening, until Los Angeles Police Department officers pushed the mob off the freeway onto a parallel road.

Similar demonstrations could break out in major cities across the United States. Protests took place in at least two dozen other major cities on Monday, from Seattle, Washington, to Jacksonville, Florida. Demonstrators marched in opposition to federal authorities enforcing immigration law and deporting illegal aliens.

In statements to The Daily Wire, co-sponsors of the bill and members of the Republican Study Committee, the largest conservative caucus in the House, of which Collins is a member, are pushing Collins’ bill as an antidote to the flashes of anarchy that have broken out on interstate highways. The bill is needed sooner rather than later to prevent riots from spreading throughout the country.

California Rep. Tom McClintock said the bill “will save lives.”

“All Americans have the right to peaceful protest, but when cars are lit on fire and ambulances are blocked on major roadways, it is no longer peaceful,” said McClintock.

Oklahoma Rep. Stephanie Bice blamed the chaos in Los Angeles on “local leaders” such as Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
