Georgian PM links Trump and Fico assassination attempts

Irakli Kobakhidze claims the organizers of the attacks also targeted the founder of Tbilisi’s ruling party, Bidzina Ivanishvili

A plot to assassinate the founder of Georgia’s ruling party was orchestrated by the same forces that tried to kill former US President Donald Trump and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has claimed.

His comments come after Georgia’s State Security Service (SSS) announced it had launched an investigation into a plot to assassinate the founder of the Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, and a number of other high-ranking officials within the party.

The SSS said it is investigating an alleged plot against Ivanishvili, “organized and financed by former high-ranking officials of the Georgian government and former employees of the security agencies who are in Ukraine.”

The goal of the plot was to stage a violent coup against the backdrop of civil unrestand the weakening of state power, the agency claimed. The SSS added that it has begun questioning Georgians who have recently returned home after fighting in the Ukraine conflict.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, Kobakhidze suggested =there is a “common pattern that characterizes the same global political forces”behind the recent high-profile assassination attempts== in the US and Slovakia, and the alleged terrorism plans in Georgia.

He emphasized that the plot against Ivanishvili and the investigation launched by the SSS made it clear that these unnamed forces also represent a threat to Georgia.

Earlier this month, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claimed that the US is seeking to bring about regime change in Georgia by fomenting large protests around the time of the upcoming parliamentary elections in the former Soviet Republic.

According to the SVR,the administration of President Joe Biden has “already prepared a large-scale information campaign to discredit the Georgian Dream party” and “American ‘curators’ have already given the commandto the opposition forces in Georgia to begin planning protests in the country to coincide with the election.”

Relations between Tbilisi and Washington have recently soured after Georgian authorities passed the so-called ‘foreign agents’ law in May. The legislation requires NGOs, media outlets, and individuals that receive more than 20% of their funding from abroad to register as entities promoting “the interest of a foreign power.”

The law sparked mass protests in the Georgian capital and was heavily criticized by the West. The US has initiated a “comprehensive review”of its bilateral relations with Tbilisi and suspended joint military exercises, while the EU has paused Georgia’s accession to the bloc and frozen some $32 million in payments to the Georgian Defense Ministry.

FBI raids former Hochul aide’s $3.5M Long Island home

A former aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul reportedly had her $3.5 million Long Island home raided by the FBI early Tuesday.

The feds carried out the pre-dawn search at the five-bedroom property where Linda Sun, one of Hochul’s former deputy chiefs of staff, lives in a gated community in Manhasset, the New York Times reported.

The reason for the raid wasn’t immediately clear.

Vice-president turned DNC candidate for president Kamala Harris is a perfect example of how someone can fail upward. Only the government itself has the ability to rise this high on the back of its incompetence and inability. Looking back, it'd be hard to see where Harris was successful in pretty much anything she was put to except obtaining positions within the government, including her VP job.

However, now that she's running for president for the Democrat Party, the media is attempting to pave the way for her by making her failures look like…well, not as bad of a failure.

On Wednesday, Axios released an article about how Harris's failure at the border is weighing her campaign down. In the article, Axios defends Harris, stating that she was never actually the "border czar" despite Republicans calling her that on multiple occasions. It ends the article by saying that Biden took harsher actions recently to cut off asylum access for illegal aliens, and his actions have worked temporarily as June saw the lowest number of illegal border crossings since January 2021.

"This administration's executive actions have brought unauthorized crossings to a lower level than when Trump left office. President Biden and Vice President Harris are leading on border security, while congressional Republicans sabotage it," White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said, according to Axios.

Axios posted a tweet to X repeating the claim that Harris was never given the title of "border czar," doubling down on the point.

Oh, but she was, and to prove that we'll refer to… Axios.

As The Federalist's Sean Davis pointed out, Axios itself reported that Biden had appointed Harris as the border czar in 2021.

Here's what is factual. Since Biden took over, illegal border crossings have surged beyond manageable points, resulting in over 10 million illegals entering the country, and that's a conservative estimate. These illegals have elevated crime in the United States, including drug trafficking, sex trafficking, rapes, assaults, and murders.

All that blood is on the hands of Joe Biden and his "border czar" Kamala Harris, the woman Democrats are now telling us is the only hope for the nation.

The press is doing its absolute best to hold up Harris, but perhaps this time, her failures are so monumental that all the Democrats' horses and all the Democrats' men can't put Harris back together again.

Moreover, this is one of those moments where the media is truly exposed for the Democrat Party puppets that they are. They're willing to tell you an obvious lie, easily exposed, thinking you're too stupid to know better. The Biden administration, along with its lackey Harris, should be condemned for the chaos and death it brought upon the United States by keeping the border unsecured, but the media should be held in contempt for its complicity in it all.

After the young would-be assassin fired off several shots, the snipers then took him out.

For some odd reason they did not think it was important to take out this young man with a gun crawling on a roof until he fired off several shots at Trump and killed a Trump supporter in the stands.

Trump can no longer trust government officials to keep him safe from would-be assassins.

So now, after nine years of holding campaign rallies with the American people, Trump will reportedly move his rallies inside. This will make it easier for his security team to protect him.

Former President Donald Trump plans to stop holding outdoor rallies like the one where he was shot during an assassination attempt this month in Butler, Pa., according to two sources familiar with his campaign’s operations.

The sources said current plans are to hold indoor rallies, but they also said it’s possible Trump will participate in smaller outdoor events or larger rallies in facilities, like stadiums, where entrances are more fully controlled and there are not issues with high ground nearby.

Spokespeople for the Trump campaign and the Secret Service did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday night.

News of the shift in venues comes the same day that the director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, announced her resignation. In her resignation letter, Cheatle said she took “full responsibility for the security lapse” in Pennsylvania.

Mnuchin sent a letter to Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors Jerome Powell requesting a 90-day extension of the Commercial Paper Funding Facility (CPFF), the Primary Dealer Credit Facility (PDCF), the Money Market Liquidity Facility (MMLF) and the Paycheck Protection Program Liquidity Facility (PPPLF).

''“With respect to the facilities that used CARES Act funding (PMCCF, SMCCF, MLF, MSLP, and TALF), I was personally involved in drafting the relevant part of the legislation and believe the Congressional intent as outlined in Section 4029 was to have the authority to originate new loans or purchase new assets (either directly or indirectly) expire on December 31, 2020. As such, I am requesting that the Federal Reserve return the unused funds to the Treasury. This will allow Congress to re-appropriate $455 billion, consisting of $429 billion in excess Treasury funds for the Federal Reserve facilities and $26 billion in unused Treasury direct loan funds,” said Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin.

Our Moon doesn't really have craters this big. Earth's Moon, Luna, also doesn't naturally show this spikey texture, and its colors are more subtle. But this digital creation is based on reality. The featured image is a digital composite of a good Moon image and surface height data taken from NASA's Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA) mission and then exaggerated for educational understanding. The digital enhancements, for example, accentuate lunar highlands and show more clearly craters that illustrate the tremendous bombardment our Moon has been through during its 4.6-billion-year history. The dark areas, called maria, have fewer craters and were once seas of molten lava. Additionally, the image colors, although based on the moon's real composition, are changed and exaggerated. Here, a blue hue indicates a region that is iron rich, while orange indicates a slight excess of aluminum. Washington D.C. – Black Lives Matter demands that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) immediately host an informal, virtual snap primary across the country prior to the DNC convention in August. We call for the Rules Committee to create a process that allows for public participation in the nomination process, not just a nomination by party delegates. The current political landscape is unprecedented, with President Biden stepping aside in a manner never seen before. This moment calls for decisive action to protect the integrity of our democracy and the voices of Black voters.

While Joe Biden wasn’t our preferred candidate, we cannot ignore the troubling actions of the Democratic Party: The DNC refused to host debates during the primary, even though a vast majority of Democratic voters wanted them. This would have likely allowed America to see the decline of Joe Biden in 2023. The DNC changed the primary schedule and created rules that made it almost impossible for non-Biden candidates to appear on the ballot, effectively clearing the field of any challengers to the incumbent president. Following the primary where millions of Black voters weighed in, after one poor debate performance, the DNC Party elites and billionaire donors bullied Joe Biden out of the race.

Now, Democratic Party elites and billionaire donors are attempting to manipulate Black voters by anointing Kamala Harris and an unknown vice president as the new Democratic ticket without a primary vote by the public. This blatant disregard for democratic principles is unacceptable. While the potential outcome of a Harris presidency may be historic, the process to achieve it must align with true democratic values. We have no idea where Kamala Harris stands on the issues, now that she has assumed Joe Biden’s place, and we have no idea of the record of her potential vice president because we don’t even know who it is yet. At Black Lives Matter, our focus is on building strong communities, addressing root issues, and creating spaces of justice and joy. This election process has been a disservice to our communities and to democracy. Historically, Black people have been loyal Democratic voters, but time and again, the party has taken our votes for granted and prioritized political theatrics over our real needs. So we will do the hard thing: we will celebrate, and honor the joy many in our community are feeling about Kamala’s historic candidacy and path to the nomination—while calling out the undemocratic process and engaging in a vigorous discussion on the issues our community cares about.

We do not live in a dictatorship. Delegates are not oligarchs. Any attempt to evade or override the will of voters in our primary system—no matter how historic the candidate—must be condemned. We demand an informal, virtual snap primary now that the incumbent president is no longer in the running. For the past few years, the Democratic Party has proclaimed that “democracy is on the ballot” in an effort to persuade Black voters to participate in the upcoming general election. They have presented this as the most serious election for democracy in our lifetimes. However, democracy isn’t just an ideal to be protected against Republicans; it must also be safeguarded from erosions within the Democratic Party. Calls for “unity” cannot come at the expense of democracy. The Democratic party, which has been the loudest in defending democracy, is now poised to commit some of the most undemocratic maneuvering to avoid listening to the will of the voters.

NASA Streams First 4K Video from Aircraft to Space Station, Back

A team at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland streamed 4K video footage from an aircraft to the International Space Station and back for the first time using optical, or laser, communications.

The feat was part of a series of tests on new technology that could provide live video coverage of astronauts on the Moon during the Artemis missions.

Historically, NASA has relied on radio waves to send information to and from space. Laser communications use infrared light to transmit 10 to 100 times more data faster than radio frequency systems.

Working with the Air Force Research Laboratory and NASA’s Small Business Innovation Research program, Glenn engineers temporarily installed a portable laser terminal on the belly of a Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.

They then flew over Lake Erie sending data from the aircraft to an optical ground station in Cleveland.

From there, it was sent over an Earth-based network to NASA’s White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where scientists used infrared light signals to send the data.

The signals traveled 22,000 miles away from Earth to NASA’s Laser Communications Relay Demonstration (LCRD), an orbiting experimental platform.

The LCRD then relayed the signals to the ILLUMA-T (Integrated LCRD LEO User Modem and Amplifier Terminal) payload mounted on the orbiting laboratory, which then sent data back to Earth.

During the experiments, High-Rate Delay Tolerant Networking (HDTN), a new system developed at Glenn, helped the signal penetrate cloud coverage more effectively.

“These experiments are a tremendous accomplishment,” said Dr. Daniel Raible, principal investigator for the HDTN project at Glenn.

“We can now build upon the success of streaming 4K HD videos to and from the space station to provide future capabilities, like HD videoconferencing, for our Artemis astronauts, which will be important for crew health and activity coordination.”

After each flight test, the team continuously improved the functionality of their technology.

Aeronautics testing of space technology often finds issues more effectively than ground testing, while remaining more cost-effective than space testing.

Proving success in a simulated space environment is key to moving new technology from a laboratory into the production phase.

“Teams at Glenn ensure new ideas are not stuck in a lab, but actually flown in the relevant environment to ensure this technology can be matured to improve the lives of all of us,” said James Demers, chief of aircraft operations at Glenn.

The flights were part of an agency initiative to stream high-bandwidth video and other data from deep space, enabling future human missions beyond low Earth orbit.

As NASA continues to develop advanced science instruments to capture high-definition data on the Moon and beyond, the agency’s Space Communications and Navigation, or SCaN, program embraces laser communications to send large amounts of information back to Earth.

While the ILLUMA-T payload is no longer installed on the space station, researchers will continue to test 4K video streaming capabilities from the PC-12 aircraft through the remainder of July, with the goal of developing the technologies needed to stream humanity’s return to the lunar surface through Artemis.

NASA Releases First Integrated Ranking of Civil Space Challenges

This spring, NASA published a document overviewing almost 200 technology areas requiring further development to meet future exploration, science, and other mission needs – and asked the aerospace community to rate their importance.

The goal was to better integrate the community’s most pervasive technical challenges, or shortfalls, to help guide NASA’s space technology development and investments.

Today, NASA’s Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) released the 2024 Civil Space Shortfall Ranking document, integrating inputs from NASA mission directorates and centers, small and large industry organizations, government agencies, academia, and other interested individuals.

STMD will use the inaugural list and annual updates as one of many factors to guide its technology development projects and investments.

“Identifying consensus among challenges across the aerospace industry will help us find solutions, together,” said NASA Associate Administrator Jim Free.

“This is the groundwork for strengthening the nation’s technological capabilities to pave the way for new discoveries, economic opportunities, and scientific breakthroughs that benefit humanity.”

The integrated results show strong stakeholder agreement among the 30 most important shortfalls. At the top of the list is surviving and operating through the lunar night, when significant and sustained temperature drops make it difficult to run science experiments, rovers, habitats, and more. Solution technologies could include new power, thermal management, and motor systems. Second and third on the integrated list are the need for high-power energy generation on the Moon and Mars and high-performance spaceflight computing.

Highly rated capability areas in the top 20 included advanced habitation systems, autonomous systems and robotics, communications and navigation, power, avionics, and nuclear propulsion.

Beyond the top quartile, stakeholder shortfall scores varied, likely aligning with their interests and expertise. With many shortfalls being interdependent, it emphasizes the need to make strategic investments across many areas to maintain U.S. leadership in space technology and drive economic growth.

STMD is evaluating its current technology development efforts against the integrated list to identify potential adjustments within its portfolio.

“This effort is an excellent example of our directorates working together to assess future architecture needs that will enable exploration and science for decades to come,” said Nujoud Merancy, deputy associate administrator for the Strategy and Architecture Office within NASA’s Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate.The 2024 results are based on 1,231 total responses, including 769 internal and 462 external responses.

Twenty were consolidated responses, representing multiple individuals from the same organization.

Once average shortfall scores were calculated for each organization, STMD grouped, totaled, and averaged scores for nine stakeholder groups and then applied pre-determined weights to each to create the overall ranking.

In the document, NASA also published the ranked results for each stakeholder group based on the 2024 feedback.

The rankings are based on the numerical scores received and not responses to the open-ended questions. NASA anticipates the qualitative feedback will uncover additional insights and more.

NASA will host a webinar to overview the ranking process and results on July 26, 2024, at 2 p.m. EDT.
