Biden's trip to Saudi Arabia to be announced Monday

After the postponed visit of US President Joe Biden to Saudi Arabia and “Israel”, the White House plans to announce the dates of the trip as early as Monday, June 13. According to two officials with immediate knowledge of the plans Congress had previously pushed back against the trip given their critical stance against the Kingdom and its leader for repeated human-rights abuses.

Previously, a senior administration official told NBC News “We are working on a trip to Israel and Saudi Arabia for a GCC+3 Summit.” As such, the trip comes as part of a broader trip to the region.

President Biden is likely to meet with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, despite having continuously criticized the Kingdom for its human-rights record, especially following the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which US intelligence pins on MBS.

Previously, Biden had called the Kingdom a “pariah” during his election campaigns.

China warns US on Taiwan: "We will fight to the very end"

Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD) security conference in Singapore, China's Defense Minister Wei Fenghe warned that China's armed forces are prepared to fight to the very end if anyone dares to split Taiwan out of China.

"Taiwan is part of China, the Taiwan question belongs to China’s internal affairs, and national reunification will definitely become a reality," Wei said.

He further warned that those who pursue "Taiwan independence" as part of an attempt to split China will definitely come to a "dead end", adding that the US fought a civil war for its unity, and although China doesn't want such a war, it will crush attempts of pursuing "Taiwan independence".

“Let me make this clear: if anyone dares to split Taiwan out of China, we will not hesitate to fight. We will fight at all costs. We will fight to the very end. This is the only choice for China,” Wei warned.

The Chinese Defense Minister further declared that treating China as a threat, adversary or enemy would be a historic mistake as it is not a threat to any other country, adding that the US' Indo-Pacific strategy exploits the idea of creating a "free and open Indo-Pacific region" to control regional states and produce conflict in order to contain China.

Ukraine conflict

Regarding the war in Ukraine, Wei said that China considers sanctions to be an ineffective tool, and that such an approach against Russia will not aid in resolving the conflict.

He further emphasized that China has never provided the Russian military with any material support, and that his country's partnership with Russia is not directed against any country.

Conflict or war is the last thing Beijing wants, Wei said, and sanctions pressure is no war to resolve conflict, rather it can further inflame tensions and complicate the situation.

In order to ensure a speedy cessation of hostilities, the defense minister said that China supports dialogue between Russia and Ukraine, and also talks between the US, NATO and Russia.

Biden blames Zelensky for deterioration of Ukrainian crisis

At a Democratic fundraiser event in Los Angeles, on Friday, the Associated Press reported a statement by US President Joe Biden claiming the US knew and had valuable data to sustain its knowledge that Russia was “was going to go in, off the border,” but Ukranian President Volodomyr Zelensky "didn’t want to hear it.”

Biden has been deeply involved in the Ukrainian crisis and publicly, alongside the collective-West, rejected the Russian operation in Ukraine. Most recently, Congress had finalized a $40 billion in new military and humanitarian assistance despite the economic crisis the US is presently faced with.

During the fundraiser, the US President focused on the American commitment to supporting Ukraine, claiming that “nothing like this has happened since World War II.”

Five months into the operation, following the US’ investment of billions of dollars in taxpayer money and the imposition of sanctions that have drastically impacted the world, Biden tells people that the US was aware of Russia’s intent and that he had notified Ukraine, but "Zelensky did not want to hear it."

In response, Ukrainian officials rejected Biden’s account. A spokesperson for Zelensky, Serhiy Nykyforov, told Ukrainian news website LIGA.net that the two presidents held several phone call conferences to discuss the situation in the period prior to Russia’s operation. Additionally, Nykyforov said that Ukraine requested preventive sanctions to de-escalate the situation long before the crisis happened and therefore, “the phrase ‘did not want to hear’ probably needs clarification.”

Zelensky’s advisor, Mykhailo Podolyak, reverberated Nykyforov when he spoke to LIGA.net that it was not a question about whether or not Russia was planning an "invasion", but rather what was the scale of that "invasion".

Podolyak firmly stated that “it is absurd to accuse a country of resisting the aggressor for more than 100 days, which prevails if key countries have failed to stop Russia as a precaution.”

These comments come at a time when Ukraine is on the brink of losing the eastern region of Lugansk to Russia. Kiev is requesting immediate military support knowing it is outgunned militarily by the Russians, and street fights are becoming more intense marking large-scale strategic losses as the city of Severodonetsk became mostly “controlled by Russians,” said the Luhansk governor on Saturday.

The Kremlin has found that Biden’s announcements regarding the military aids, sanction packages, and political involvement in Ukraine come as proof of its intentions against Russia. Therefore, the Kremlin “believe that the United States is deliberately and diligently ‘pouring fuel on the fire.’”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., blasted former President Trump for high gas prices under his administration, but the numbers are worse under President Biden.

Pelosi and Schumer both took shots at Trump in 2018 over gas prices across the nation as they neared the $3 mark, but Biden hasn't gotten the same treatment even as prices are significantly higher than they were then.

Currently, gas prices sit at $3.39 per gallon — well above the $3 mark that Pelosi and Schumer decried as too high under the previous administration.

Neither Pelosi’s nor Schumer’s offices responded to Fox News’ requests for comment.

One of the shots Schumer took against Trump over gas prices was ahead of Memorial Day Weekend in 2018.

"Are you creeping along on fumes because #GasPrices are so high?" Schumer tweeted in 2018. "I'll join [Senator Maria Cantwell,] [Senator Bob Menendez] & [Senator Ed Markey] to push [Trump] to start fighting for lower gas prices for hardworking Americans LIVE in a few minutes."

However, while he took less of a hard stance with Biden on the rising prices, Schumer pressured the current president to open up the Strategic Petroleum Reserves to offset the rising prices — a move undertaken by Biden that critics have likened to treating a serious injury with a band-aid.

Pelosi has not taken any combative stance with Biden over the gas prices — in stark contrast to her words for Trump in 2018.

"Prescription drug prices are skyrocketing. Gas prices continue to rise. Health care costs and premiums are through the roof. Wages are stagnant. What is the solution Trump and Republicans in Washington propose?" Pelosi tweeted in July 2018 about the Republicans’ Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. "More tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy."

"You can't make this stuff up," the speaker added.

The Daily Beast’s Sam Stein and Gideon Resnick reported this week that “Democrats are preparing an aggressive assault on the Trump administration in the coming weeks over the cost of rising gas prices nationally.”

This morning the coming campaign reported by Stein and Resnick began in earnest, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and fellow senate Democrats holding a press conference on Capitol Hill calling on President Trump to, as Sen. Schumer tweeted, “start fighting for lower gas prices for hardworking Americans.”

Set aside the question of whether or not rising gas prices, which are up more than 56 cents nationally over the last 12 months and expected to continue rising, are the fault of President Trump. Instead, let’s look at how this new strategy will put Democrats in California - the nation’s most populous state, whose government is completely controlled by Democrats - in an awkward position.

Why is that? Because Gov. Jerry Brown and fellow Golden State Democrats are about to spend the next seven months attacking a measure that will appear on the November ballot that would, if approved by voters, repeal the state gas tax hike championed and signed into law by Gov. Brown last year.

The $52 billion tax hike (over ten years) enacted by Gov. Brown and legislative Democrats in Sacramento raised the base excise tax on gasoline by 12 cents per gallon, taking it to 30 cents, and set another variable excise tax at 17 cents. The excise tax on diesel fuel jumped 20 cents, bringing it to 36 cents per gallon. The sales tax on diesel was hiked 4 percentage points from the current 5.75% to 9.75%. Gov. Brown and company also imposed a yearly vehicle tax ranging from $25 for cars valued at under $5,000 to $175 for cars worth $60,000 or more. That tax took effect at the beginning of 2018.

It was just reported in this space how Democrats have achieved parity with their messaging in favor of higher tax rates at the federal level and state level in North Carolina. With this new national campaign trying to blame President Trump for rising gas prices, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will soon have to explain why rising gas prices are a bad thing, but the action taken by Democrats to deliberately raise the cost of gas in her home state of California was a good thing.

If congressional Democrats plan to attack rising gas prices, will Congresswoman Pelosi, in order to maintain consistency in her position and messaging, come out against Gov. Brown’s gas tax hike and will she support the measure to repeal it?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The policy implications of the political maneuvering that ensues will be significant. This author has reached out to the offices of Gov. Brown and Rep. Pelosi for comment on this matter, and will update this article with their response should they choose to provide one.

Israeli government on the verge of collapse; Bennett, Lapid struggle

After the end of Netanyahu's reign, Bennett's government was sworn in and is seen to be on the verge of collapse, raising the possibility of a snap election in the coming few months.

The current Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, along with his Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, promised to fight for the survival of the current Israeli government, which is doomed to its demise.

"We're marking a year since the establishment of the national salvation government. Any honest person would admit that this is one of the country's best governments, which leans on one of the most difficult coalitions the Knesset has ever known," Bennett said in broadcast remarks at the start of his weekly cabinet meeting.

However, the current government is dealing with issues over which they are deeply divided, including Bennett's loss of legitimacy, when his 4th staff member resigned in a month.

Silman's 'preparation to bring down the government'

Furthermore, Bennett's Yamina party has also recently lost majority after its latest member, a religious conservative, Idit Silman, resigned. Bennett's coalition now has 60 MPs, the same as the opposition.

"I am ending my membership of the coalition and will try to continue to talk my friends into returning home and forming a right-wing government," Silman said. "I know I'm not the only one who feels this way."

Bennett's coalition may continue ruling with 60 seats, although with difficulty passing new legislation.

However, if another coalition member defected, the Knesset could issue a vote of no confidence, sending "Israel" back to the polls for a fifth parliamentary election in four years.

Political analyst Dahlia Scheindlin told AFP that if Silman "is the first person to prepare to bring down the government, she is doing it from the place of conviction." "She is religious, and I think we all underestimate the power of theology," Scheindlin said.

Bennett: "Israel" stands before true test, gov't close to collapse

The Israeli occupation's Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, said earlier this month that "Israel" stands before a true test and that his government is close to collapse, standing at a historical crossroads, accusing Benjamin Netanyahu and the opposition he leads of spreading poison and chaos.

Bennett, in a missive he published on social media, said the ancient "Israel" had been destroyed twice before because of internal conflict: the first, 80 years after its "establishment", and the second, 77 years later, adding that "Israel" is now in its third era, drawing closer to its eighth decade. He went on to say that everyone stands before a true test of whether or not they will be able to preserve "Israel".

He noted that one year ago, "Israel came to one of the most difficult moments it has ever known," amid chaos, endless election spins, government paralysis, and the cities of "Lod [Al-Ledd] and Acre [Akka] burning in the face of a humiliated and conflicted government," referring to the Palestinian protests that took place amid the battle of Seif Al-Quds last year.

The Israeli PM further noted that "Israel" was in a state of weakness amid the battle of Seif Al-Quds and was trapped in “the worship of one man and the enslavement of the state’s energy to his legal needs,” referring to then-Israeli PM Netanyahu.

Bennett further added that the Israeli occupation stood days away from a "fifth election cycle that would have taken the country apart," and took the most difficult decision "in my life" to form a government that would "save Israel from the chaos and has it function again."

Bipartisan Gun Deal Announced: No ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban, No Raised Minimum Rifle Age

A bipartisan group of senators announced a deal on gun control legislation Sunday in the wake of recent mass shootings — though the compromise excludes President Joe Biden’s “assault weapons” ban and a raised minimum age for rifle purchases.

The deal includes Republican priorities such as expanded mental health services and school safety. It nods to Democratic priorities by adding expanded background checks for those under the age of 21, who will now have juvenile records screened before gun purchases.

Intervention Orders

● Provides resources to states and tribes to create and administer laws that help ensure deadly weapons are kept out of the hands of individuals whom a court has determined to be a significant danger to themselves or others, consistent with state and federal due process and constitutional protections.

Investment in Children and Family Mental Health Services

● National expansion of community behavioral health center model; major investments to increase access to mental health and suicide prevention programs; and other support services available in the community, including crisis and trauma intervention and recovery.

Protections for Victims of Domestic Violence

● Convicted domestic violence abusers and individuals subject to domestic violence restraining orders are included in NICS, including those who have or have had a continuing relationship of a romantic or intimate nature.

Funding for School-Based Mental Health and Supportive Services

Penalties for Straw Purchasing

● Cracks down on criminals who illegally straw purchase and traffic guns.

It is unclear whether the proposal can pass the 60-vote threshold required to defeat a legislative filibuster in the Senate — or whether the “progressive”-led Democratic caucus in the House would pass what they would see as a watered-down bill.

Concerning County Commissioners meeting: “Due to the media light on the meeting, The Commissioners could not pull the trigger on Sheriff Mike Smith. For a County Attorney(Leavitt), he has unprecedented…no…unprecedented is not a big enough word….he has unthinkable control of the Commissioners.”

Concerning the 151 Page Report: ”There was Satanic Ritualism in the report.”

Concerning David Leavitt: “There was an interview out there. Allegedly, Leavitt bartered to have custody of a Native American baby. There are many safeguards in place, and a lot of paperwork involved in an adoption. Especially an adoption of a baby from a Reservation.It does not look like all procedures were followed.

Concerning The Utah County Ring: “Some of the members of this ring come in from out of state. There may be other people involved from New York City who were involved with the Anna Gristina case.”

Our source connected to the case told us in regards to the Commissioners…..

“” Leavitt owns a lot of people in this community, including the County Commissioners. As a matter of fact, as we speak, Leavitt is meeting with the Commissioners to have Sheriff Mike Smith removed for malfeasance.””

Well, our source was right on the money. And it didn’t take long for the Commissioners to act.

The Commissioners held a meeting yesterday, and on the agenda, “an item calling for approving and authorizing the commencement of an investigation related to the potential unauthorized release of documents and other related matters.”

Sheriff Mike Smith took to podium and lit up the Commissioners. A few quotes from Sheriff Mike Smith on the proceedings.

Sheriff Mike Smith: ” I find it interesting as well as disturbing that the Commission has placed this on a public agenda item. I find it very inappropriate. It is very out of order. “

Sheriff Mike Smith: ” This continues Leavitt’s attempts to intimidate victims, and witnesses, and people working this case. And by placing this on the agenda, the commission has participated in that continual intimidation on this case.”

Now…why did the Commissioners delay the starting up of the investigation? Hopefully the delay is because of the June 28th election in which all major players are up for election….Leavitt, Sheriff Smith and the Commissioners. If this is the reason, at least it buys the Sheriff a few more weeks to keep moving his investigation forward.

Sen. Chuck Schumer slammed President Trump on Wednesday for soaring gas prices — blaming his decision to reimpose sanctions on Iran for higher costs that he said will burn away the GOP tax cut.

“Gas prices will roughly cancel out the 2018 consumption boost from the tax cuts,” Schumer said at an Exxon gas station on Capitol Hill.
