A British Columbia First Nations school is investigating after parents reported that teachers gave 4-year-old kids a homework assignment on masturbation.

The popular social media monitoring platform Libs of TikTok was the first to report the incident at T’lisalagi’lakw School in Namgis First Nation in Alert Bay, B.C. based on a Facebook post.

Kindergartners sent home with masturbation assignment

A worksheet from the book Body Smart: Right From the Start asks kids to “draw a picture of the private places where you can touch your penis or vulva if you want to.”

“Some children like to touch their own private body parts and some children don’t,” the assignment states. “All families have different rules about masturbation (touching your own private parts.) Talk to your trusted grown-ups about your family rules.”

A spokesperson for the school reportedly told Libs of TikTok that the “incident is under investigation” but would not comment further.

Pope Francis to Tour Canada in July

Pope Francis will tour Canada this summer, visiting Edmonton, Quebec City, and Iqaluit at the end of July, in a move intended to address the Catholic Church’s role in Canada’s residential school system.

The Vatican confirmed the visit in a statement on May 13, saying further details on the journey would be published in the coming weeks.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a statement the visit was an “important and necessary” step toward reconciliation.

Trudeau then reiterated his government’s commitment to implementing the calls to action put forth by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

“We will continue to support First Nations, Inuit, and Métis by investing in their efforts to identify and recover those who never came home,” he said.

Innovation Minister François-Philippe Champagne is pressing G7 countries to establish a quick-reaction group on cybersecurity to help build up resilience to attacks following the invasion of Ukraine.

Champagne suggested to a meeting of G7 digital ministers in Germany that they pool expertise to fend off attacks and protect crucial information-technology infrastructure.

Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Minister Mykhailo Fedorov joined the G7 meeting virtually—which Champagne says prompted not just empathy but a desire for action from Canada and its allies.

Champagne’s call for a quick-reaction group follows warnings by the cybersecurity agencies of Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and New Zealand—known as the Five Eyes—that sanctions on Russia could expose them to cybercrime.

Speaking after the G7 meeting, the minister said the proposed cybersecurity working group would help better prepare Canada and its allies to fend off cyberaggression now and in future.

“This was an important topic of discussion: How can you do more together?” he said. “What we proposed is a working group to increase our collective resilience.”

He said the G7, which includes the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany, discussed learning from what has happened in Ukraine as well as the experiences of other nations subjected to cyberattacks.

Last month, the U.S. Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency warned in a statement about cybercrime on its website that the imposition of sanctions on Russia and support for Ukraine by the United States and its allies could prompt cyberattacks. Continue…

The World Economic Forum wants to create a climate change treaty

The World Economic Forum (WEF) wants to create an international climate change treaty supposedly to save the ocean.

“The science is clear: to maximize the health and resilience of the global ocean, at least 30% of it must be protected through a network of “highly” and “fully” protected Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) by 2030,” writes the World Economic Forum in an article.

“To achieve this goal, a new treaty for the conservation and management of marine life in the high seas must be concluded to ensure that human activities are managed to prevent significant adverse impacts, with robust oversight mechanisms and provisions to establish fully protected MPAs in the high seas.”

According to the Forum, government officials who’ve joined the “Blue Leaders” campaign will meet and rally for other countries to join them at an upcoming convention in China, as well as at the UN Ocean Conference from June 27 to July 1.

The climate change treaty to save the oceans isn’t the only treaty on the WEF’s agenda, though. They also want a climate change treaty to tackle plastic pollution.

“Do we need a global treaty to tackle plastics pollution, similar to the one on climate change. Campaigners and a growing number of governments and businesses say we do. Ahead of a United Nations Environment Assembly which could launch talks on a plastics pact, the World Economic Forum heard from a range of experts on why we need a treaty and what it might contain,” the WEF writes.

Of course, the Forum is also supporting the World Health Organization’s attempts to create a global pandemic treaty that will usurp the health sovereignty of all 194 member states. One can only imagine how international climate change treaties may impact global and national economies and the day-to-day activity of people deemed to have too large of a carbon impact.

Over 8-in-10 Child Sex Abuse Cases Not Solved as Cases Rise: StatCan

A new report by Statistics Canada has pointed out that at the same time that cases involving child sex abuse and child pornography are rising, fewer such cases are being solved.

Fifteen percent of child pornography incidents were cleared, leaving over 8 out of 10 incidents (85 percent) not cleared.

Of online child sexual predation and abuse incidents where a victim was identified, 56 percent were not cleared, which meant that “police were not able to identify an accused person in relation to the incident,” according to the report.

From 2014 to 2020, the rates of abuse increased from 50 incidents per 100,000 children and youth to 131 incidents per 100,000.

“While this crime may be on the rise in Canada, part of this increase could also be related to better training of police officers to detect this crime and increased willingness of victims to report,” the report said.

Only a fraction of sexual offences are reported to police, however, a problem compounded by the offender’s use of smart devices that make it easier for them to hide their actions and harder for police to investigate them.

A Canadian warship has been hit with an outbreak of COVID-19 while preparing for an overseas deployment in the Pacific.

HMCS Winnipeg is back home in Esquimalt, B.C., after seven sailors tested positive, only weeks before the ship is due to participate in a major training exercise and two overseas missions.

Those include assisting with the enforcement of United Nations sanctions against North Korea, which the Canadian Armed Forces has been doing since 2018.

Navy Lt. Pamela Hogan says the Winnipeg will remain docked in Esquimalt until mid-June, during which time sailors exhibiting symptoms will be required to self-isolate and not report to duty.

Hogan says the positive cases will not interfere with the frigate’s planned deployment, as it had already been scheduled to remain in Esquimalt until mid-June.

The military says nearly 8,000 members of the Armed Forces have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, with 268 active cases reported earlier this month.

A B.C. lawyer representing civil servants forced off of work due to vaccine mandates will now represent over 200 union members against the unions they say failed to defend them.

“It’s a pretty big labour board case,” Lawyer Umar Sheikh told the Times Colonist. “I’ve dealt with massive union issues and I understand where the unions, in my view, have fallen down here.”

The B.C. public service made two Covid shots a condition of employment in November, aided by an Order in Council passed by the province’s NDP government that made noncompliance with the policy grounds for termination with cause.

“It’s not possible to have done this without consultation with the unions, which means that the unions would have agreed for a certain segment of their members to be discriminated against,” Sheikh said. “And so we’re bringing a claim against them.”

As of Apr. 20, the public service claimed that 402 employees had either refused to disclose their status to their employer as required or had not gotten the shots. The service said furthermore that 31 terminations had taken place. These firings have continued, however, with different ministries appearing to have adopted different timelines with respect to dealing with employees forced on leave.

Canada’s Supreme Court has axed a 1995 law that made such a defense illegal

Defendants accused of violent crimes like murder and sexual assault may use self-induced extreme intoxication – known as “non-mental disorder automatism” – as a defense in a criminal court, Canada’s Supreme Court decided on Friday.

The court has ruled that a 1995 law that prohibited such a type of defense went against Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

“Its impact on the principles of fundamental justice is disproportionate to its overarching public benefits. It should therefore be declared unconstitutional and of no force or effect,” Justice Nicholas Kasirer pointed out.

The law violated the Charter because the defendant's decision to become intoxicated doesn’t mean that he or she was planning to commit a violent offense, Kasirer explained. It also allowed courts to convict a person without having to prove any ill intentions, he added.

The issue came before the Supreme Court last autumn and pertained to three separate cases. One of them concerned David Sullivan from Calgary, who took a prescription drug known to cause psychosis in an attempt to commit suicide back in 2013, but ended up stabbing his mother, whom he believed to be an alien at that moment due to his psychotic state.

Sullivan was barred from using the defense of extreme intoxication, and was convicted of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. But a Court of Appeals later found the law banning such a type of defense unconstitutional and acquitted the man on both counts.

Prosecutors appealed that ruling at the Supreme Court, which confirmed Sullivan’s acquittal with its decision on Friday. Canada’s justice minister David Lametti said that the government was thoroughly studying the ruling.

“It is critically important to emphasize that today's decision does not apply to the vast majority of cases involving a person who commits a criminal offense while intoxicated,” Lametti pointed out in a statement.

India, the world’s second largest producer of wheat, has banned all exports with immediate effect after a heatwave affected the crop.

A notice in the government gazette by the directorate of foreign trade, dated Friday, said a rise in global prices for wheat was threatening the food security of India and neighbouring and vulnerable countries.

A key aim is to control rising domestic prices. Global wheat prices have increased by more than 40% since the beginning of the year.

Before the war, Ukraine and Russia accounted for a third of global wheat and barley exports. Since Russia’s 24 February invasion, Ukraine’s ports have been blocked and civilian infrastructure and grain silos destroyed.

At the same time, India’s own wheat harvest has suffered a record-breaking heatwave that is stunting production.

Even though it is the world’s second largest producer of wheat, India consumes most of the wheat it produces.

It had set a goal of exporting 10m tonnes of the grain in 2022-23, looking to capitalise on global disruption to wheat supplies from the war and find new markets for its wheat in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Much of that would have gone to other developing countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Apart from problems with weather damaging harvests, India’s vast stocks of wheat – a buffer against famine – have been strained by distribution of free grain during the pandemic to about 800 million people.

To balance supply and demand, the government needs about 25m tonnes of wheat each year for an extensive food welfare programme that usually feeds more than 80 million people.

Meanwhile, the G7 criticizes India’s decision to ban wheat exports:

The Canadian military flew surveillance planes over Freedom Convoy protests in Ottawa this February, skirting an official directive that it was not to do so.

A Jan. 27 directive by the Department of National Defence (DND) stated that Canadian Armed Forces equipment and personnel were to avoid the protest and that Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) planes were not to fly in the airspace directly above the demonstrations.

In an apparent effort to get around the rules, military leaders reportedly used a private defence contractor’s military plane to conduct operations.

“The amplifications provided by the RCAF through this directive did not apply to these training activities, which were contracted outside of the RCAF,” said National Defence Spokesperson Dan Le Bouthillier.

“(The directive) was issued to reduce the risk of generating a false perception of CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) activities, personnel and presence being associated with the domestic event at the time.”

Soldiers flew on a King Air aircraft which was registered in the US on five different occasions – Jan. 28, Jan. 29, Feb. 3, Feb. 10 and Feb. 11.

According to Ottawa researcher Steffan Watkins, the plane took a flight path that could indicate that it was surveilling people on the ground.

Canadian Heritage announced that they would not allow Canadians to participate in the annual Canada Day celebration at Parliament Hill due to construction after two years of cancelling it due to COVID.

Last year, despite the ban on Canada Day celebrations, thousands of Indigenous and pro-Indigenous activists rallied at Parliament Hill to, ironically, protest Canada’s history in a “day of reflection.”

Ask yourself if the current high gasoline price is really a result of sanctions preventing oil from coming to market. As far as I can tell, Russia continues to sell oil and natural gas. It is only the small US purchases of Russian oil that have stopped. The small amount of oil involved cannot explain the price rise. Most likely it is the oil companies using the “crisis” narrative to raise prices.

Ask yourself if an interest rate rise by half a percentage point is enough to cause a 1000 drop in the Dow Jones. Presumably, the argument is that a higher interest rate raises costs and drops earnings, thus the stock market’s decline. But if higher interest rates raise costs, how are they anti-inflationary? Most likely the stock market fell because the Federal Reserve said it is halting its policy of printing money to support stock and bond prices. Instead, the Federal Reserve is going to sell stocks and bonds from its $9 trillion dollar portfolio built by buying stocks and bonds for more than a decade in order to support the New York Banks and Wall Street. When Quantitative Easing began, the Federal Reserves portfolio was $800 billion. Today it is 11 times larger. This huge increase in the Federal Reserve’s portfolio explains the long rise in the Dow Jones and the fortunes made on Wall Street.

None of the narratives we are fed are true. The narratives serve agendas that are not disclosed to the public.

Several key pieces of testimony have poked holes in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s justification for using the Emergencies Act to quash peaceful freedom convoy protestors in February.

Throughout the protests, the Liberals and legacy media made a number of claims about the convoy ranging from extremist involvement, foreign funding and millionaires bankrolling the movement. To date, all of these claims have been called into question by law enforcement officials and fundraising executives.

Several Trudeau cabinet ministers claimed in February that foreign extremists were funding the convoy to undermine Canada’s democracy. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) has announced a legal win for three British Columbia pastors ticketed for defying lockdown orders during the pandemic.

A total of 24 tickets – adding up to $55,200 – against Pastors John Koopman of the Chilliwack Free Reformed Church, James Butler of the Free Grace Baptist Church and Timothy Champ of the Valley Heights Community Church, have been dropped by the B.C. Crown.

The pastors were fined following their non-compliance with provincial government restrictions imposed on Nov. 2020, which banned in-person religious services. The JCCF said their clients were ticketed by police despite their strict adherence to safety precautions.

Police began ticketing the churches in Dec. 2020, with the fines continuing to roll in until mid-2021, when the B.C. government began lifting restrictions.

In total, Koopman received 23 tickets totalling $52,900, while Butler received 25 tickets totalling $57,500, and Champ received 18 tickets totalling $41,400.

The recent victory amounted to seven tickets dropped against Koopman, 11 against Butler and six against Champ, for a total of 24. The JCCF said there remains over 20 outstanding tickets issued against pastors and churches in B.C.’s Fraser Valley.

“The Justice Centre will vigorously defend pastors and churches against these charges in future appearances in Provincial Court,” said the legal charity, adding that over four dozen tickets against B.C. churches they represent have now been dropped. Continue…

Ottawa Police Service (OPS) interim chief Steve Bell has told parliamentarians his force did not request the Trudeau government invoke the Emergencies Act before cracking down on Freedom Convoy protests in February.

Bell made the revelation during a Commons house affairs committee meeting on Tuesday when questioned by Conservative MP Andrew Scheer.

“Did the Ottawa police make a request to the federal government to invoke the Emergencies Measures Act? Yes or no?” asked Scheer.

“So, we were involved in conversations with our partners and the political ministries,” Bell answered. “We didn’t make a direct request for the Emergencies Act.”

Bell’s statement comes only days after RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki also told the inquiry tasked with investigating Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s use of emergency powers that the federal policing agency made no such request.

“No, there was never a question of requesting the Emergencies Act,” said Lucki last week.

Since Trudeau invoked the act in February, members of the Liberal government – including Trudeau himself – have repeatedly tried to justify the decision by claiming that law enforcement called on the government to invoke emergency powers.

“When illegal blockades hurt workers and endangered public safety, police were clear that they needed tools not held by any federal, provincial or territorial law,” Trudeau said on Apr. 27. “It was only after we got advice from law enforcement that we invoked the Emergencies Act.”

For the 750 bankrupt employers identified as accessing the CEWS program over the course of the pandemic, 352 owed back taxes to the CRA when they were sent the payments.

The total amount of back taxes owed by the 352 employers accessing CEWS was $25,926,888.04.

The CRA opened a snitch line in June 2020 to allow people to turn in those suspected of CEWS, CERB, and CESB relief fraud.

Unvaccinated Ukrainians are exempt from travel ban

Justin Trudeau has decided that unvaccinated Ukrainians deserve better treatment than Canadians and that the federal travel ban shouldn’t apply to them.

According to the Government of Canada’s Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel web page, “Ukrainians and their family members coming to Canada from overseas — are exempt from Canada’s COVID-19 vaccination entry requirements, but must meet all other public health requirements for travel, such as quarantine and testing.”

And just in case this wasn’t clear as day, the government further states that unvaccinated Ukrainians and their family members who acquire or already have temporary status in Canada “may apply to extend their temporary resident status for up to 3 years” and “can leave and return to Canada at any time while their visa is valid.”

“Family member” also includes a spouse or common-law partner. So, if you’re an unvaccinated Canadian looking to flee your country after years of brutal lockdowns and segregation, don’t worry! All you have to do is marry a Ukrainian or date one while cohabitating for a year.

Of course, this extremely discriminatory decision shouldn’t be too shocking. After all, Trudeau isn’t shy about expressing his contempt for non-compliant Canadians, having called them misogynists and racists for refusing the vaccine.

He’s also shown favouritism in Ukraine, having recently appeared completely maskless during his trip to the mostly unvaccinated foreign nation, even though he still wears one in Canada and forces Canadians to wear one while travelling.

House of Commons passes motion to reopen the Canada-China Committee

Despite Liberals voting against it, the House of Commons just passed a motion to reopen the Canada-China Committee to investigate the Chinese Communist Party’s role — if any — in undermining Canada’s democracy.

The Conservative Party addressed the reinstatement of the Special Committee on Canada-China relations immediately after the vote.

“… Beijing’s communist government continues to threaten and target pro-democracy and human rights advocates in the Chinese community here in Canada. Beijing’s communist leadership also poses a threat to Canada’s national interest and security, as well as to our values,” reads their website.

“… The committee has been empowered by the House of Commons to examine and review all aspects of the Canada-China relationship.”

The NDP and Bloq also voted in favour of the motion put forth by Conservatives.

The Canada-China Committee was originally set up in 2019 but never really got off the ground. Its primary focus surrounded the mysterious firing of 2 Chinese scientists at Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg.

It was later revealed that scientists Xiangguo Qiu and her husband, Keding Cheng, may have leaked data to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) — and specifically to the infamous Wuhan virology lab — as part of a long-term espionage mission in Canada’s only Level 4 laboratory.

“It appears that what you might well call Chinese agents infiltrated one of the highest prized national security elements when it comes to biosecurity and biodefence,” Christian Leuprecht, a security expert and professor at the Royal Military College and Queen’s University, stated in June of 2019.

But the Trudeau government refused to cooperate with the Canada-China Committee’s request to hand over unredacted documents.

Opposition leaders subsequently fought this decision, but just when some ground was being made, Trudeau called a snap election, dissolving both government and, effectively, the order to produce the documents.

It’s likely that the Canada-China Committee continue its investigation, but it’s not clear if Trudeau will once again shut down parliament should things get scandalous.

Likening the heckling and protesting of an actively sitting politician to harassment, the journalist stated that more punitive measures need to be taken against those who engage in such behavior so Canadian society can build a system that “promotes healthy dialogue.”

However, during the anti-COVID mandate Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa earlier this year, it was Singh, along with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who refused to engage in a dialogue with the protesters despite repeated requests. In fact, instead of engaging in respectful conversation with protesters, Singh and Trudeau opted to promulgate a narrative that those demonstrating against the government were “insurrectionists,” “racists,” and “misogynists,” with Singh even falsely accusing them of committing an arson attack that was unrelated to the protest.

These unsubstantiated statements led Trudeau to invoke the never-before-used Emergencies Act, giving his government the power to freeze the private bank accounts of protesters without a court order, and deploy the national police force to physically end the non-violent demonstration against his government.

Since the protest was forcibly ended, Singh and Trudeau have formed a de facto “coalition” government, with Singh promising to support every action taken by Trudeau with the intention of securing him as prime minister until 2025.

Despite Singh pledging support to Trudeau after the use of the Emergencies Act, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association said the move was an “unjustifiable” violation of civil rights, and has launched legal action against the Trudeau government.

The Trudeau government is also facing another lawsuit in federal court in September for an alleged violation of civil liberties regarding its still-active vaccine mandate for air, rail and sea travel within the country.

Brian A. Peckford, one of the plaintiffs in the case, is a former Newfoundland premier and the last living drafter of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms found within the Canadian Constitution, a document that contains the precise laws Peckford says Trudeau has violated.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry says it is shutting down CBC/Radio-Canada’s Moscow bureau and revoking the accreditations and visas of its journalists.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says the move is in retaliation for Ottawa’s ban on Kremlin-backed RT, formerly known as Russia Today, and RT France from being broadcast in Canada.

The CRTC removed RT and RT France from its authorized list of programming services and stations in mid-March after it found programming targeting Ukrainians constituted abusive comment.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at the time that action was needed to combat falsehoods and disinformation by Russia about the invasion of Ukraine, including on social media.

CBC/Radio-Canada did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Russia’s latest action.

The broadcaster said on March 4 that it had temporarily suspended reporting in Russia because of new legislation in the country that it said “appears to criminalize independent reporting on the current situation in Ukraine and Russia.”

In April, Russia widened a list of sanctioned Canadians, adding 61 more people including several journalists such as Globe and Mail international correspondent Mark MacKinnon, National Post columnist John Ivison, the editor-in-chief of the Globe and the president and CEO of CBC.

US tech giant Google has blasted the Trudeau government over a federal plan to regulate online news, calling it a sweeping attempt to impose government control over the web.

Vice President and Managing Director of Google Canada Sabrina Geremia warned in a lengthy post on Monday that Bill C-18 – also known as the Online News Act – would give the federal government “sweeping new powers” to regulate news content.

“The bill gives the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) unprecedented, sweeping new powers to regulate every aspect of the Canadian news industry,” wrote Geremia.

“The CRTC would be responsible for determining who is a journalist, what is an eligible news business, and how much money will be directed to each entity — decisions far outside its expertise as a broadcast regulator.”

Crown lawyers want to see Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich sent back to jail for accepting an award from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF).

Lich is scheduled to receive the organization’s George Jonas Freedom Award on Jun. 16, but Ottawa prosecutors are arguing that doing so is a breach of her bail conditions.

Lich was jailed after being arrested by police while helping to lead the Ottawa Freedom Convoy protest in February. She then spent 18 days in custody over charges including mischief, obstructing a peace officer and others related to her time leading the demonstrations.

Her bail was initially denied on Feb. 22, but a bail review on Mar. 7 saw a different judge overturn that decision, saying “the bail justice used subjective considerations, not an objective comparison…. This is an error in law (and it’s) not minor.”

Lich was then released under conditions involving supervision.

However, lawyers representing the federal government are now saying that the judge who granted bail made several errors of law of his own. They have filed an application to have his decision to release Lich overturned.

Public health authorities in Montreal will provide an update today on the suspected presence of monkeypox in the city.

Dr. Mylène Drouin, the city’s public health director, and Dr. Geneviève Bergeron, the medical officer for health emergencies and infectious diseases, will speak at 11 a.m.

On Wednesday, Radio-Canada reported that numerous possible cases were under investigation in the city.

Monkeypox is typically limited to Africa, and rare cases in the United States and elsewhere are usually linked to travel there. A small number of confirmed or suspected cases have been reported this month in the United Kingdom, Portugal and Spain.

On Wednesday, health officials in Massachusetts reported a monkeypox case in a man who had recently travelled to Canada, with health officials trying to determine if it’s connected to the small outbreaks in Europe.

The man was in Canada at the end of April to meet friends and returned in early May.

Monkeypox typically begins with a flu-like illness and swelling of the lymph nodes, followed by a rash on the face and body. In Africa, people have been infected through bites from rodents or small animals, and it does not usually spread easily among people.

Monkeypox comes from the same family of viruses as smallpox. Most people recover from monkeypox within weeks, but the disease is fatal for up to 1 in 10 people, according to the World Health Organization.

Police Say Human Remains Found in Grand River Are That of Young Girl

Ontario police say human remains found in the Grand River in Dunnville, Ont., are that of an unidentified young girl.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said officers were called to the scene on May 17 after human remains were found in the river in Dunnville, a community roughly 55 kilometres southeast of Hamilton.

In an update on May 18, police confirmed that the remains were that of a girl who had been deceased for some time, though the exact time of death is not yet determined.

“The deceased, approximately one to four years of age, had been in the water for a period of time,” reads a media release from the Haldimand County OPP.

“It’s tragic, and it’s disturbing,” OPP Detective Inspector Shawn Glassford told CTV News.

“Somebody out there is missing this child. Somebody is wondering what happened to this child and we want to hear from those people.”

The police asked anyone with relevant information to call them as the investigation continues.

“We’re hopeful that members of the public will assist us,” Glassford said. “I think this is one of those cases that we’re really going to depend on the public to help us identify this child and determine what happened, and how this child ended up in the river, and the circumstances surrounding that.”

The Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service will conduct a post-mortem on May 19 to look into the cause of death.

Police said they are looking into missing person reports in Canada and the United States to help identify the girl, and that more updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.

The Trudeau government has announced it worked with airlines to consider requiring “digital identity documents” and biometric data like facial recognition for pre-aircraft boarding requirements.

A May 14 statement published in the Canada Gazette on Regulations Amending the Secure Air Travel Regulations and the Designated Provisions Regulations details how the Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness discussed the proposed requirements during an air travel stakeholder exercise.

“In accordance with (Public Safety’s) Forward Regulatory Plan 2021–2023, the need to update the (Secure Air Travel Regulations) to offer more options to travellers and the industry to meet pre-aircraft boarding identity verification requirements through innovation was also considered during the stakeholder consultation exercises,” said the statement.

“This includes digitized identification documents, digital identity documents and biometric travel documents.”

“Biometric travel documents” were defined by Public Safety as “electronic identification documents that use biometric identifiers (such as facial recognition)” among other things. Continue…

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has doled out over $319 million in grants, awards, and charity to media organizations, including $38 million to so-called “investigative journalism” centres.

According to Mint Press News (MPN), which sorted through over 30,000 documents, Bill Gates has given roughly $38 million to investigate journalism centres aimed at training journalists. Of this sum, over $20 million has gone to the International Center for Journalists, which “builds the expertise and digital skills journalists need to deliver trustworthy news essential for vibrant societies.”

The generous donations given to the ICFJ over several years have been given with the express purpose of producing journalists who focus on “data-driven health and development news reports to help African media to better contribute to setting development agendas and furthering public accountability,” according to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s website.

Producing health-obsessed investigative journalists is a common trend with Gates.

A document that has now been deleted from the Internet shows Barack Obama meeting with Dr. Tedros of Ethiopia and other terrorist leaders of that country. A few years later Dr. Tedros was elected to lead the World Health Organization (WHO).

New Study Finds mRNA Vaccines Actually Hurt Long-Term Immunity to Covid Compared to the Unvaccinated

A new study conducted by scientists from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Moderna Inc. showed that mRNA vaccines hurt the long-term immunity to Covid-19 after contracting infection compared to unvaccinated people.

Researchers performed a placebo-controlled vaccine efficacy trial published at medRxiv last month, to evaluate anti-nucleocapsid antibody (anti-N Ab) seropositivity in Moderna vaccine efficacy after Covid-19 infection.

“To evaluate for evidence of prior infection in a person with a history of COVID-19 vaccination, a test that specifically evaluates anti-N should be used. Past infection is best determined by serologic testing that indicates the presence of anti-N antibody,” according to the CDC.

The study analyzed data from 1,789 participants (1,298 placebo recipients and 491 vaccine recipients) with Covid-19 infection at 99 sites in the US during the blinded phase (through March 2021).

The study concludes that anti-nucleocapsid antibody (anti-N Abs) may have lower sensitivity in patients vaccinated with Moderna who become infected. The study also mentioned that the anti-N Ab response in unvaccinated persons has been reported to be durable, with half-life estimates ranging from 68 to 283 days.

Among the participants with confirmed Covid-19 illness, only 21 out of 52 (40%) of people who received the Moderna shots had antibodies compared to the placebo recipients, 605 out 648 (93%).

G7 countries have approved almost $20 billion in financial assistance for Ukraine on Friday, following two days of meetings in Germany, which focused on the Russian invasion crisis and growing global inflation, food shortages, and persisting supply chain issues.

"We will continue to stand by Ukraine throughout this war and beyond and are prepared to do more as needed," a joint G7 statement said of the $19.8 billion package just approved.

Initially Ukraine's government had requested a whopping $50 billion in April in order to prop up its heavily export-dependent economy, which has been devasted by the invasion.

Germany, which currently hosts the G7's rotating presidency, itself pledged €1 billion ($1.1 billion) for Ukraine which is to come out of the 2022 budget. "We are currently collecting the various commitments for direct liquidity support," German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said at the G7 summit hosted near Bonn.

The EU is contributing €9 billion of the total. "We feel responsible for the capability of the Ukrainian state and its people to defend themselves," Lindner also stated, expressing the collective mood of summit participants, which included central bankers.

The International Monetary Fund in its latest figures said Ukraine needs at least $5 billion a month, or $15BN for three months, just to keep up salary and wage payments, also to maintain expanded and strained public services which now includes running refugee facilities for the millions of internally displaced citizens due to the war.

Ukraine was represented at the summit, with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal giving a virtual address, and the country's finance minister also participating via video feed.

"Ukraine protects the whole civilized world. Support of partners will speed up our victory. During a meeting with G& finance ministers discussed practical steps to recover [Ukraine] from the consequences of war,” Shmyhal had tweeted. "Despite Russia's efforts to destroy our economy, together we will win!"

Even while maintaining that vaccines are important “in the fight against COVID-19,” a Canadian infectious disease doctor says the “logic” behind vaccine mandates no longer holds.

Last Wednesday, Dr. Zain Chagla, an infectious diseases physician and associate professor at McMaster University, wrote an opinion piece for the Globe and Mail in which he argued that even as a someone who supports vaccination against COVID-19, policies like Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s vaccine mandate for travelers can no longer be scientifically justified.

After reiterating the mainstream narrative surrounding COVID-19 by saying that he “wholeheartedly” supports vaccination against the highly survivable virus, Chagla goes on to state that “medicine is about recognizing what does and does not make sense based on the prevailing science,” and therefore, in light of the recent evidence, “we should reconsider our mandate requiring full vaccination for Canadians boarding a commercial plane or train for travel to domestic and international destinations.”

“The justification behind vaccine mandates is that they help prevent transmission. But this does not seem to be the case any longer, with the Omicron variant,” Chagla wrote in his May 11 piece.

The Wall Street Journal on Tuesday examined the role Anthony Fauci, director of the NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has played since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks to direct funding to drug companies to produce biodefense medicines. After the terrorist and anthrax attacks, Fauci argued that NIAID was “well-suited to receive new funds for biodefense,” and the agency’s biodefense-related funding rose from $42 million annually in 2001 to about $1.2 billion in 2003 and $1.7 billion in 2005, the Journal reports. Fauci decided to “fund companies on a large scale” and currently directs $500 million to $600 million annually for new bioterrorism product development, according to the Journal. Last year HHS was authorized by Congress to spend $5.6 billion over 10 years on biodefense drugs. According to the Journal, Fauci’s goal is to prepare companies to bid on contracts under Project BioShield, which is managed by HHS. His strategy is to “place bets on multiple companies in the hopes of hitting the jackpot and to dole out NIH’s money in multiple rounds, using milestones to gauge progress,” the Journal reports. For instance, Fauci led NIH in an effort to develop a new anthrax vaccine, awarding $100 million in two funding rounds to VaxGen and about $80 million in two rounds to Avecia Group to prepare them to compete for a federal contract to develop a new anthrax vaccine for Project BioShield. BioPort, maker of an existing anthrax vaccine, protested NIH’s decision to ban makers of the older-generation vaccine from bidding and after launching a public relations campaign received a $122 million contract to produce the older vaccine. Ultimately, HHS awarded VaxGen the entire $877 million BioShield contract, but the company has “stumbled and its vaccine is almost a year late,” according to the Journal. In another instance, Fauci gave about $100 million each to Bavarian Nordic and Acambis for research on a smallpox vaccine in preparation for a BioShield contract to be awarded in 2006. NIH officials gave Acambis samples of the modified smallpox virus used by Bavarian, prompting Bavarian to file a civil lawsuit and a patent complaint against Acambis.
