Update: finally, the stock is tumbling. Perhaps even retail investors realized that when AMC is pulling a Boiler Room-type "deal" to dump as much stock as it can, it will only end badly.

Last Friday, when meme stocks AMC and (to a lesser extent) Gamestop were soaring after the latest Reddit-raid decided to snuff out any remaining shorts while piling into the two legacy retail names, we said that the only question is "whether AMC management will surprise the Reddit army today or if it will wait until after the long weekend to unveil the latest dilution."

Well, a few days later, we learned that AMC did in fact wait until Tuesday to unveil that it had sold 8.5 million AMC shares to Mudrick Capital - which bought the shares at a premium the previous close just to aggravate the short squeeze - which we then learned immediately turned around the dumped the new share to Reddit at a profit.

In any normal world, this would have been sufficient to send the stock plunging, but not in this one, because the sale to Mudrick actually sent AMC stock surging 150%!

Predictably, emboldened by the sheer idiocy of Reddit, AMC CEO Adam Aron was not content with abusing the broken market, and one day after it launched a shareholder goodies program urging the company's millions of retail shareholders to "self identify" through the company's website, where they will receive "special offers" and "company updates" (including an initial offer of a free large popcorn at any AMC-owned theater in the US)...... the company decided to again pull the rug from under its retail shareholders and at 7am this morning AMC filed an 8K announcing it would sell 11.55 million shares in an At The Market offering - meaning it bypasses a selling syndicate and sells directly to the public - the kind popularized by Gamestop, and which will crater the stock in the coming days as every bout of buying by retail investors will be met by aggravated selling by the company.

And in a novel twist, unlike GME, AMC is using not one but two banks not as underwriters, but as cold-callers, i.e., Sales Agents to help it sell as much stock to retail investors as possible. It gets better: AMC is actually paying B Riley and Citi a 2.5% commission to cold call investors and sell them stock, in a move right out of Boiler Room.

The pair will meet with Min Aung Hlaing, chief of Myanmar's junta, in Naypyidaw on Friday, according to diplomatic sources. Brunei is the chair of ASEAN this year.

1:45 p.m. The court hearing at a district court against the ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi under the country's official secrets act in Yangon has been adjourned to June 17, according to San Marla Nyunt, a member of Suu Kyi's legal team.

8:30 a.m. Up to 150 protesters stage a flash protest in the center of Yangon. The first large demonstration there since early May drew people from around the city, who typically demonstrate in groups of 20 to 30 close to home. It has been unusual to see such a relatively large demonstration downtown. "We want to show that our movement is still active downtown," said Maung Saint, one of the organizers, in comments to Nikkei Asia. "We are not cold-blooded yet. As written in our banner, we want to show that we are all in this together. We are demanding that the 2008 constitution be dissolved and a federal democratic union be formed."

Bill Gates company to build reactor at Wyoming coal plant

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A next-generation, small nuclear plant will be built at a soon-to-be retired coal-fired power plant in Wyoming in the next several years, business and government officials said Wednesday.

The plant featuring a sodium reactor and molten salt energy storage system will perform better, be safer and cost less than traditional nuclear power, Microsoft co-founder and TerraPower founder and chairman Bill Gates said.

Bellevue, Washington-based TerraPower is working with Rocky Mountain Power, an electric utility serving Wyoming and other Western states, to put the Natrium reactor at one of four of the utility’s power plants in Wyoming, with the location to be decided later this year.

“We think Natrium will be a game-changer for the energy industry,” Gates said by video link to a news conference hosted by Republican Gov. Mark Gordon. “Wyoming has been a leader in energy for over a century and we hope our investment in Natrium will help Wyoming to stay in the lead for many decades to come.”

Wyoming is the top uranium-mining state, and the reactor would use uranium from “in situ” mines that extract the heavy metal from networks of water wells on the high plains, officials said.

Wyoming also is the top coal mining state. The U.S. coal industry has suffered a dramatic downturn over the past decade as utilities switch to cheaper and cleaner-burning gas to generate electricity.

The reactor proposal creates common ground between Wyoming, one of the most Republican states, and Democratic President Joe Biden’s administration.

Wyoming is a top producer of greenhouse gases from its coal, oil and natural gas industries. The Biden administration has halted oil and gas leasing on federal lands in the West as it seeks to reduce carbon emissions by half, compared to 2005 levels, by 2030.

“The future of nuclear energy is here,” U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said by video link. “It’s got a simpler design that will hopefully result in faster construction at lower cost. It’s going to create a smaller footprint. It’s going to be equipped with next generation safety measures.”

If it’s as reliable as conventional nuclear power, the 345-megawatt plant would produce enough power for roughly 250,000 homes. The plant also would produce hydrogen, which can power trucks and other vehicles with fuel cells.

Several coal-fired power closures are planned in the West in coming years, including some in Wyoming. A nuclear plant with hundreds of well-playing jobs, sending power over transmission lines already in place, could offset the economic blow of a coal plant retirement.

The plant will be a “multibillion-dollar project” with costs to be split evenly between government and private industry, TerraPower President and CEO Chris Levesque said.

The plant would produce two-thirds less waste by volume than conventional nuclear plants, Levesque said.

Proposals to store nuclear waste in Wyoming have failed to pass the state Legislature in recent decades. While some waste would need to be stored on site, the plant isn’t going to be a way to “solve the nation’s waste problems,” Gordon said.

Gordon announced last winter he would make Wyoming carbon negative, meaning the state would capture more carbon dioxide than it emitted. Gordon is a proponent of carbon capture, or nabbing the greenhouse gas from power plant flue streams and pumping it underground. The technology has yet to be proven commercially viable on a large scale.

Gordon also has held open the possibility of suing states whose greenhouse gas goals lead to the shutdown of Wyoming coal-fired power. He continued to stand by fossil energy Wednesday.

Russian rainy day fund to abandon all assets in U.S. dollars

Russia on Thursday said it would ditch all U.S. dollar assets in its National Wealth Fund (NWF) and increase holdings in euros, Chinese yuan and gold in what analysts said was a political move ahead of a presidential Russia-U.S. summit later this month. Russia has been gradually reducing its dollar holdings since the imposition of Western sanctions following Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in 2014, and has sought to partially decouple from the Western financial system. Tim Ash at BlueBay Asset Management said the move was designed to send a signal ahead of a summit between President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden on June 16. “Like the central bank, we have decided to reduce investments of the NWF in dollar assets,” Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

After the changes, that will be finalised within a month, the fund will hold 40% of its assets in euros, 30% in yuan and 20% in gold. The Japanese yen and British pound will account for 5% each, Siluanov said. The dollar share will drop from 35%, while the share of pounds will be halved. Gold will be added to the NWF for the first time. The rouble firmed marginally on the news, although First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov said he did not expect the change to affect the exchange rate. Analysts at ING said the move implied selling $40 billion in favour of gold, yuan and euro. Russia’s NWF, which accumulates Russia’s oil revenue and was initially designed to support the pension system, stood at $185.9 billion as of May 1. It forms part of Russia’s gold and FX reserves that totalled $600.9 billion on May 27.

Russia’s central bank slashed its holdings of U.S. Treasuries in 2018 and cut the dollar share in its gold and forex reserves in 2020 to 21.2% as of Jan. 1, down from 24.5% a year earlier. The central bank reports that data with a six-month lag. “This process of dedollarisation is taking place not only in our country, but in many countries around the world that have started to have concerns about the reliability of the world’s reserve currency,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

US government takes control of Internet domains used by SolarWinds hackers

THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT has taken control of two Internet domains used last month in a large-scale phishing campaign by the same Russian-linked hacker group that was behind SolarWinds. The Department of Justice said on Tuesday it seized the two domains, theyardservice[.]com and worldhomeoutlet[.]com, on May 28, following a decision by a US court that authorized the action.

The large-scale attack was detected on May 25, and was delivered in over 3,000 emails sent from a compromised account belonging to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The compromised account was paired with the services of a legitimate email marketing company called Constant Contact. It was subsequently used to deliver phishing emails to the employees of over 150 organizations worldwide, most of them American.

The phishing emails featured an official USAID logo, beneath which was an embedded link to a purported “USAID Special Alert” titled “Donald Trump has published new documents on election fraud”. The link sent users to one of the two illicit subdomains, which infected victim machines with malware. The latter created a back door into infected computers, which allowed the hackers to maintain a constant presence in the compromised systems.

In the March 7th, 2020 issue of The Lancet, a group of scientists from around the world wrote a letter, condemning “conspiracy theories” regarding the origins of COVID-19. In the letter entitled “Statement in support of scientists, public health professionals, and medical professionals of China combatting COVID-19,” the scientists are quick to push the narrative of a natural zoonotic (a natural viral mutation) event that led to the initial outbreak of SARS-CoV-2. The letter was initially published online on February 18th, 2020, nearly two weeks before the first known US case of COVID-19. We certainly knew a lot about where it came from for a virus that we didn’t know enough about to form public policy.

While it could be understandable that scientists would want to protect their colleagues from the unnecessary spotlight associated with the accidental potential release of SARS-CoV-2, the better question should be why a group of scientists, just over a month into a pandemic, would gamble their credibility on what, at the time, amounted to an unproven theory. To prove a natural zoonotic event, those scientists would have had to have a way of proving the animal the virus jumped from and where that virus may have originated. In the case of a zoonotic event, the going theory is that it came from bats at a Wuhan wet market, though sampling from that market did not identify any virus in the animals sampled.

So who are the scientists who signed this letter? Numerous experts in the field from across the world have one thing in common: All roads run through Peter Daszak. Daszak, as you may remember, is the President of EcoHealth Alliance, and how NIH grants were funneled to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Dr. Shi Zhengli. Daszak himself teamed up with Dr. Shi on gain-of-function research studies that created mutated coronavirus versions and then tested those viral strains on animal and human cells. Daszak, who also signed the Lancet letter, has every reason in the world to want to eradicate the lab-leak theory, ultimately because his rear end may be in the sling if it is revealed to be from there.

In my research, I came across a trove of emails from the University of Colorado and the University of Maryland that shows exactly how this letter came to be and that the final words of the piece “we declare no competing interests,” were absolute hogwash.

To start, of the letter’s 27 signatories, 5 of them are either employees or board members of EcoHealth Alliance. Rita Cowell, Peter Daszak, Hume Field, John B. Hughes, and William Karesh, all work directly for or with EcoHealth Alliance. Hardly impartiality or a lack of a conflict or competing interest.

In an email chain commencing February 10th, 2020, Peter Daszak began soliciting signers to the above letter. The knowledge about the virus was still in its infancy, but one thing was guaranteed for Daszak and his pals at the EcoHealth Alliance: This virus did not come from the WIV.

While nebulous enough, the letter calls questioning the source of the SARS-CoV-2 “conspiracy theories” and suggests that the WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus completely supported the natural mutation theory. As we have pointed out, there has already been a conflict of interest for at least 5 of the signatories, but is there more?

Why yes, there is. The above-mentioned email was released by Colorado State University after questions were raised regarding the relationship between the University and EcoHealth Alliance. Turns out, in 2017, Jonathan Epstein, VP with EcoHealth Alliance, attempted to work with the university to import bats to Colorado as a means of studying bat-bourne viruses and how they may transmit to humans. The arrangement was going to be between EcoHealth Alliance, Colorado State University, and…the NIAID, the organization run by Dr. Anthony Fauci.

There is no question that large corporations absolutely dominate our society today. They control what we eat, they control what we watch on television, they own most of the stores that we shop at, they provide the energy that our nation depends upon, and they make almost all of the products that we use. Tens of millions of Americans make a living by serving these colossal firms, and at this point some of the biggest corporations are larger than many small countries. But of course the corporations aren’t the top of the food chain. They have owners, and there are 3 giant financial companies that the global elite use to control 88 percent of the corporations that are currently listed on the S&P 500.

The three financial companies that I am talking about are BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street. According to CNN, those companies have a combined 15 trillion dollars in combined assets under management…BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street manage a stunning $15 trillion in combined assets, equivalent to more than three-quarters the size of the US economy.

But that is actually an old number. I wanted to come up with a newer number, and so I started digging. According to Wikipedia, BlackRock had $8.67 trillion in assets under management as of January 2021…BlackRock, Inc. is an American multinational investment management corporation based in New York City. Founded in 1988, initially as a risk management and fixed income institutional asset manager, BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager, with $8.67 trillion in assets under management as of January 2021. BlackRock operates globally with 70 offices in 30 countries and clients in 100 countries.

Vanguard is nearly as big. According to Wikipedia, Vanguard had $6.2 trillion in assets under management as of January 2021…The Vanguard Group, Inc. is an American registered investment advisor based in Malvern, Pennsylvania with about $6.2 trillion in global assets under management, as of January 31, 2020.[5] It is the largest provider of mutual funds and the second-largest provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the world after BlackRock’s iShares.[6] In addition to mutual funds and ETFs, Vanguard offers brokerage services, variable and fixed annuities, educational account services, financial planning, asset management, and trust services. Several mutual funds managed by Vanguard are ranked at the top of the list of US mutual funds by assets under management.

While not as large as the other two, State Street had $3.1 trillion in assets under management as of the first month of this year. So adding those numbers up, the “big three” had almost 18 trillion dollars in assets under management in January 2021, and that number is almost certainly quite a bit higher by now. That is a giant pile of money that is almost impossible to imagine. Sometimes people forget just how much money a trillion dollars is. If you were alive when Jesus was born and you spent a million dollars every single day since then, you still would not have spent a trillion dollars yet.

Collectively, the “big three” represent the largest ownership blocks in 88 percent of the companies that are currently listed on the S&P 500…Combined, BlackRock, State Street and Vanguard are the largest owner in 88% of the S&P 500 companies, according to a paper published Tuesday by the American Economic Liberties Project, a group that launched in February taking aim at what it sees as excessive corporate power. For instance, the Big Three hold leading stakes in companies including Apple (AAPL), JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and Pfizer (PFE). Being the largest owner of a publicly traded company doesn’t mean that you can do whatever you want, but it does give you enormous power.

For example, last month BlackRock and Vanguard were instrumental in installing two new members on ExxonMobil’s board of directors… BlackRock and Vanguard were among the major shareholders whose votes helped to install two new members on ExxonMobil’s board of directors, dealing the oil giant a major defeat in the election of board members at this year’s annual (virtual) shareholders meeting. The two fund giants, which together own approximately 14% of ExxonMobil shares, according to reports, supported portions of a dissident slate of board nominees brought by a Engine No. 1, an activist, purpose-driven investment firm that sees ExxonMobil’s response to the global climate crisis as far too weak to help achieve net zero emissions by 2050, putting shareholder value at risk. Engine No. 1 put forth a slate of four nominees, all with experience in the oil and gas or renewable energy industry. ExxonMobil did not want these new board members, but now they have been forced to take them.

500 Prominent Georgia Republicans Including Party Chairman David Shafer Urge RINO Gov. Kemp to Launch Forensic Audit of 2020 Election

More than 500 prominent Georgia conservatives are urging RINO Governor Brian Kemp to launch a forensic audit of the 2020 presidential election.

This comes as Georgia Republicans gather for their annual Georgia Republican State Convention.

According to John Fredericks told The War Room on Thursday that the number of attendees DOUBLED this year at the convention.

The incumbent Georgia Republican Party Chairman David Schafer is also behind the efforts.

The number one issue in Georgia is election integrity.

The Washington Examiner reported:

More than 500 Republicans in Georgia are urging Gov. Brian Kemp to pursue a forensic audit of the 2020 presidential election.

The letter, obtained by the Washington Examiner on Wednesday, was signed by 531 Republicans ranging from grassroots activists, to precinct leaders, to delegates to the Georgia GOP convention, which is set to take place this weekend.

At the center of their letter is a request for an “independent forensic audit to take place through the convening of a Special Session.” The letter was sent to Kemp, who is also a Republican.

“We believe that anyone who has a problem with a statewide forensic audit in Georgia has something to hide,” the letter reads. “Our goals are simple: we want to discover the underlying problems that occurred last year and ensure that we never make those same mistakes again.“

In the first big research scandal of the COVID-19 era, The Lancet and The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) today retracted two high-profile papers after a company declined to make the underlying data for both available for an independent audit, following questions being raised about the research. The Lancet paper, which claimed an antimalarial drug touted by President Donald Trump for treatment of COVID-19

could cause serious harm without helping patients, had had a global impact, halting trials of one of the drugs by the World Health Organization (WHO) and others.

Three authors on the Lancet paper requested the retraction, after initiating an independent review of the raw hospital patient data summarized and provided by Surgisphere, a small Chicago-based company operated by Sapan Desai, the fourth author of the study. Desai had previously said he and his co-authors—cardiologist Mandeep Mehra of Harvard University and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Frank Ruschitzka of University Hospital Zürich, and Amit Patel, an adjunct faculty member at the University of Utah—were getting such an audit of the data, but the agreement apparently fell apart....

Interesting that NO JOURNALIST seems to have done an investigation into this incredible breach of medical ethics.

Whole situ is weird.

While it's common for senior researchers to put their names of paper done by junior researchers in the same organization (which is already pretty ethically iffy), NOBODY puts their name on a scientific paper

(a) from a DIFFERENT organization they do not know and

(b) without DIRECT ACCESS TO THE DATA.

This story stinks to high heaven.
