Human Remains Found Near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island Home: Police
A grim scene unfolded not far from Taylor Swift's Holiday House on the morning of May 14.
Westerly, R.I. police confirm to PEOPLE that what appeared to be human remains were found in the Watch Hill area, the affluent enclave where the singer's seaside mansion is located.
Officers that arrived to the scene on Everett Avenue around 9:30 a.m. uncovered "what appeared to be a human leg bone," according to a statement shared with PEOPLE. The remains were transported to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for analysis.
"Investigators are awaiting official confirmation of the identity of the remains," the statement continues. No foul play is suspected at this time.
A resident who spoke to the local news outlet NBC10 WJAR, Taylor Day, said she saw "three police cars, one undercover . . . and there was a medical examiner pulling in behind me." She added, “It kind of alarmed me, and it was just something very out of the ordinary for Westerly."
Day called out the proximity to Swift's landmark home and the area's most famous historic hotel.
“It was probably a couple football fields away from Taylor Swift’s house and the Ocean House,” she shared. “I would never expect anything like that—especially not in Watch Hill.”
Swift purchased her home for a reported $17.75 million in 2013, according to the New York Times, and has famously hosted Fourth of July parties there, attended by a bevy of celebrity friends, including Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, the Haim sisters, and Selena Gomez.
The affluent beach town is otherwise known for its Victorian-style homes and what the Times once dubbed a "strong sense of privacy." High-profile visitors from Clark Gable and Henry Ford to Conan O'Brien and Hugh Jackman have spent time in the village.
High Watch, as Swift's 1920s property was previously known, overlooks East Beach and the Atlantic Ocean and was notably once owned by Standard Oil heiress Rebekah West Harkness, the subject of Swift's song "The Last Great American Dynasty."

The University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) has come under federal investigation for “inaccurate and incomplete disclosures” of foreign funding.
The probe was launched by the U.S. Department of Education on May 8 after concerns that the school may be unduly influenced by foreign actors and follows a review of the school’s foreign reports, the department explained in a press release.
According to Section 117 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, universities that receive federal funding are required to disclose foreign donations valuing more than $250,000.
Acting General Counsel Tom Wheeler described UPenn’s compliance history with federal law as “troubling,” saying it had, in February 2019, failed to disclose any foreign funding whatsoever.

Emergency crews are responding to a reported mass shooting near Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The incident unfolded along Potter Drive, where someone lived streamed the even and multiple victims were reportedly shot after a barrage of 40 to 50 gunshots rang out. Witnesses say the violence may have started with a fight that escalated into a shootout at the intersection of Potter Drive and Palmer Park Boulevard, where dozens of rounds were exchanged. Several individuals have been rushed to the hospital. Authorities have not yet confirmed the motive of how it started. This remains a rapidly developing situation.
Photos circulating on Facebook reportedly indicate that the shootout was triggered by a personal feud or altercation. Multiple victims have been confirmed, though the exact number of people shot is not known at this time.

As I see it, there were three big stories this week: the media’s pretense that it was ignorant of Biden’s infirmities when it mattered; the cold-blooded assassination in D.C. of two young employees of the Israeli embassy, and the president’s refusal to join in the whitewashing of the genocide in South Africa. Examination of the details of these events reveals beyond possibility of doubt that the mainstream press here and abroad is guided by anti-truth, antisemitic, anti-white, and anti-western civilization animus. The press deserves a harsh reckoning: ignore them, drive down circulation and views, expose their lies and agenda.

Virginia Giuffre - a high-profile survivor of billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein who alleged she was sex trafficked to Prince Andrew - has been farewelled by her family in Perth.
Ms Giuffre, 41, is believed to have taken her own life at her farm in Neergabby, about 80km north of Perth, last month.
The West Australian understands Ms Giuffre was cremated in recent days at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park in Padbury.
Ms Giuffre’s death attracted worldwide headlines, but it is understood she was farewelled in private, with no funeral being publicly advertised.
WA Police confirmed at the weekend that officers have concluded her death is not being treated as suspicious. Major crime detectives are in the process of preparing a report to give to the coroner.
Police were called to Ms Giuffre’s property about 9.50pm on April 25 after she was found unresponsive. There was nothing that could be done to save her, and she was declared dead at the scene.
Her death came less than a month after she posted to social media that she had just “four days to live” after a crash with a school bus near her home, which police later dismissed as a minor incident.
Ms Giuffre shot to prominence in 2015 after filing a lawsuit in a New York court against Epstein’s longtime companion and confidante, Ghislaine Maxwell, alleging the pair kept her as a “sex slave” for the rich and powerful.
She said she was recruited by Maxwell when she was 16 or 17 and working at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s club in Palm Beach.
Ms Giuffre told the BBC in 2019 she was “passed around like a platter of fruit” to Epstein’s friends, flown around the world on private jets.
Prince Andrew was among those powerful friends, and she claimed she was forced to have sex with him when she was 17. He strongly denies the allegations.
A now-infamous photograph shows him arm-in-arm with Ms Giuffre yet in a television interview with the BBC, he said he had no memory of meeting her.
When she died, Ms Giuffre was facing a charge of breaching a family violence restraining order taken out by her estranged husband, Robert Giuffre.
The charge was discontinued earlier this month, with a court told the allegation related to claims she sent Mr Giuffre several text messages.
The former couple moved to Perth from Cairns in 2020, buying a $1.9m six-bedroom, four-bathroom ocean-front property in Ocean Reef with her husband, Robert.
Ms Giuffre left behind three children - Christian, Noah and Emily.
Her family said holding her newborn daughter had inspired her to “fight back against those who had abused her and so many others”.
“She was heroic and will always be remembered for her incredible courage and loving spirit,” they said. “In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.”

The battleground state of New Hampshire formally banned the establishment of “sanctuary cities,” which defy immigration law by refusing to allow local law enforcement personnel to collaborate with federal immigration agents, after both chambers of the state legislature moved to do so.
“There will be no sanctuary cities in New Hampshire, period, end of story,” Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte said following a bill signing ceremony at the State Capitol on Thursday. The governor signed House Bill 511 and Senate Bill 62 to ban sanctuary cities and support cooperation between state and local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities.
“I said from the beginning that we won’t let our state go the way of Massachusetts and their billion-dollar illegal immigrant crisis. Today, we’re delivering on our promise by banning sanctuary cities and supporting law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration authorities. New Hampshire will never be a sanctuary for criminals, and we will keep working every day to remain the safest state in the nation,” Ayotte said.
Banning sanctuary cities was a central campaign promise for Ayotte, who previously served as the state’s attorney general before a six-year term in the U.S. Senate from 2011 through 2017. The governor frequently took aim at neighboring Massachusetts with the campaign slogan, “Don’t Mass up New Hampshire,” a reference to the deep blue state’s lenient immigration policies.
“I campaigned on making sure we would not have sanctuary cities here in New Hampshire, and we don’t want to go the way of Massachusetts that has had a billion-dollar illegal immigration crisis,” the governor told Fox News.

Geopolitical discussion is swirling around Trump's confrontation of South Africa's government and their complicity in a growing race war against white Afrikaners. The specific issue being open calls for property confiscation and the murder of the white population. No group or political party is singing songs about killing black Africans. They are only singing songs about killing whites.
This fact and a myriad of conditions have led many overseas, especially in America, to worry about the potential for full spectrum genocide. There is already a slow grinding death machine that is chewing up Afrikaner farming communities over the course of years, but it situation could easily cross the line into mass murder.
Others, however, are rooting for South Africa's socialist government.
A common refrain in the past week is the argument that Donald Trump is "pushing SA into the arms of China and the Belt and Road Initiative" by cutting off foreign aid and making the treatment of the Afrikaners into an international debate. What would happen if SA turned to the BRICS? As if this was not already a reality, South Africa has been closely tied to the BRICS since they formally joined the economic bloc in 2010. From 2010 to 2018 the BRICS experienced substantial growth and global influence.
However, the China of 10 years ago is not the China of today. China's foreign direct investments (FDI) in Africa were steady since 2003 (like US investments) as the country started buying up oil and raw commodities, but they are now on the decline.
The communist nation's economy is in dire straits. The shutdowns during the covid pandemic triggered a deflationary spiral that they have not been able to recover from. Foreign investments in China have dropped over 77% since 2022. The country suffered a 27% investment cut in 2024 alone.

Despite its “essential” cloak of secrecy, the Central Intelligence Agency is committed to the rule of law, CIA general counsel Stephen W. Preston ’83 said in a speech at Harvard Law School on Tuesday, April 12, hosted by the HLS American Constitution Society.
“Just as ours is a nation of laws, the CIA is an institution of laws and the rule of law is integral to agency operation,” he said.
Furthermore, he pointed out, this commitment is not merely a unilateral agency claim. In fact, he said, the CIA is heavily monitored and regulated by a broad array of agency overseers including the President, the National Security Council, the House and Senate intelligence oversight committees, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, the office of the Director of National Intelligence, the agency’s own statutorily independent inspector general, and the Department of Justice.
While public and judicial scrutiny of CIA activities are often limited, Preston said that the rule of law is integral to agency operations because “all intelligence activities of the agency must be properly authorized pursuant to, and must be conducted in accordance with, the full body of national security law that has been put in place over the six-plus decades since the creation of the CIA.”

The Trump administration is unrolling a new initiative Thursday that will help prevent noncitizens from voting in U.S. elections, a high-priority policy for the White House.
=The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is updating the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program and partnering with the Social Security Administration in order to ensure “a single, reliable source for verifying immigration status and U.S. citizenship,” according to a memo exclusively shared with the Daily Caller News Foundation. Under the update, state and local officials will be able to input Social Security numbers for verification of U.S. citizenship and thereby prevent foreign nationals from voting in American elections.
“For years, states have pleaded for tools to help identify and stop aliens from hijacking our elections,” USCIS Spokesman Matthew Tragesser said in a statement provided to the DCNF.
“Under the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, USCIS is moving quickly to eliminate voter fraud,” Tragesser continued. “We expect further improvements soon and remain committed to restoring trust in American elections.”
SAVE, an online service administered by USCIS, allows various government agencies to verify the immigration status or U.S. naturalization of applicants seeking benefits or licenses.
The new partnership allows government agencies to create cases in SAVE using an applicant’s Social Security number rather than a Department of Homeland Security identifying number, which is not collected by a majority of state and local agencies, according to a separate news release. Additionally, agencies for the first time will be able to submit more than one case at a time, streamlining the process.
The new tool’s unveiling drew praise from the Tennessee secretary of state’s office,which has been involved in a select group of states providing testing and feedback on these verification updates.
“I commend President Trump and his team for building a super tool for election officials to identify and remove ineligible voters,” Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett said in a statement provided to the DCNF. “I predict this system, once fully developed, will be a game changer for election officials.”
“President Trump’s super election integrity tool means if you are an ineligible registered voter in Tennessee, we will find you,” Hargett said.
Polling indicates that basic voter protection regulations, such as requiring a photo ID to vote and providing proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time, are incredibly popular among Americans.
Since returning to the White House, President Donald Trump has prioritized reforms to keep noncitizens out of U.S. elections. The president in March signed Executive Order 14248, Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of American Elections, which aims to protect voting systems from fraud, systemic error and foreign influence.
Trump has also voiced strong support for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, legislation sponsored by Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy that would require states to obtain proof of citizenship prior to registering an individual for any federal election and also requires state officials to remove all noncitizens from existing voter rolls. That bill passed the House in April, with only four Democrat lawmakers voting in favor of it.

Despite pushback from Democrats who claim GOP concerns over noncitizen voting is overblown, numerous high-profile cases of foreign participation in U.S. elections have been documented in recent months.
Federal prosecutors in April charged two Ukrainian nationals — 53-year-old Svitlana Demydenko and her 22-year-old daughter, Yelyzaveta Demydenko — with unlawfully voting in the 2024 presidential election. Akeel Abdul Jamiel — a 45-year-old Iraqi national — was accused by federal prosecutors that same month of participating in the 2020 presidential election.
State officials inTexas, Alabama, Virginia and Ohio identified as many as 17,000 noncitizenson state voting rollsand worked to remove them from the books ahead of the 2024 general election. America First Legal, a Washington, D.C.-based group aligned with theTrump administration, sued Maricopa County, Arizona, in August after the county recorder allegedly failed to purge 35,000 registered voterswho did not provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
The Trump administration hinted at more updates to come in the future.
“USCIS will continue to improve and add more capability and functionality to SAVE,” the USCIS news release reads. “Providing more tools within SAVE ensures state and local governments have robust and reliable access to federal databases to confirm the U.S. citizenship of individuals on their voting rolls and registering to vote, in support of [Trump’s executive order].”

Hoover Institute senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson called out CNN’s Jake Tapper on Friday for flip-flopping on former President Joe Biden’s mental decline, stating Tapper would have never turned on Biden if Democrats were still in the White House.
Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson released their new book “Original Sin” on Tuesday, detailing concerns over Biden’s cognitive health during his one-term presidency. While discussing the CNN host’s recent interview with SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly on “The Victor Davis Hanson Show,” co-host Sami Winc asked Hanson for his thoughts on Tapper’s new pushback against Biden.
“But did he ever really say, ‘I’m sorry?'”Hanson asked. “I mean, he might have called Laura Trump up, but did he ever say to an audience, ‘What I told you was untrue? It was clear to me that he was mentally challenged, cognitively in decline. I attacked people who said that. I am sorry to all of you. That was unprofessional.'”
“I don’t expect him to do the proper thing and resign because he misled the country with catastrophic effects,” Hanson added. “If you think of the border and Afghanistan and the autopen part, all the terrible things that Biden did. I shouldn’t say Biden did, somebody did in his name. So he didn’t do that. He did say he felt humiliated.”
Prior to Biden entering the Democrats’ presidential primary in 2020, Republicans raised concerns over his mental fitness.
Call-outs of Biden stumbling and struggling to speak at times were later pushed by the GOP after he won the 2020 election, but Democrats and media pundits quickly brushed off the concerns.
In 2020, Tapper interviewed President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, and accused her of “mocking” Biden’s “stutter,” telling her she had “no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline.”
During his interview with Kelly on Tuesday, Tapper said he has since apologized to Lara Trump, stating he called her “months ago.”
“But here’s my point. Why has he said anything about that he was fooled or he was mistaken? The answer is pretty clear. It’s for two reasons. One, Joe Biden is out of power. More importantly, he hasn’t been president since June of 2024. He has no power to either punished or reward Jake Tapper,” Hanson continued.
“What I mean is if you flip that over in the converse, if Joe Biden was president right now, would he have said that?” Hanson asked. “No. If Joe Biden had stepped down and Kamala Harris was the candidate right now, would he have said that? No. So he was lying when he knew he was lying. So then the question is, why did he say it now? The answer is that he has a book out.”
During Biden’s time as president and throughout his 2024 campaign, Tapper, among other media personalities, had defended the former president. Notably, during Biden’s disastrous debate against Trump,Tapper, who was one of the moderators, appeared to quickly bail out Biden after he froze mid-sentence during one of his arguments.

Hanson went on to speculate that Tapper’spublisher suggested the CNN host say he was “mistaken” about his coverage of Biden to “handle the incoming flack.”
“So my question is the same as Russian collusion, laptop disinformation, 51 intelligence authorities, thousands of files that were classified at Mar-a-Lago.Do they ever apologize? No. Did they ever learn from their lies? No.They just go on to the next.So why would I believe that when he was lying then, he’s telling the truth now? I don’t believe that,” Hanson said.

In addition to the uptick of media spotlight on Biden’s mental decline, the former president’s office revealed Sunday that Biden had been diagnosed with a “more aggressive form” of prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone.
Doctors and cancer experts have since told the Daily Caller that, due to the state of the cancer, Biden likely had it during his time as president.

Former President Barack Obama aide Jon Favreau said during a Friday podcast that fresh data from Democratic firm Catalist on how former Vice President Kamala Harris lost to President Donald Trump in the 2024 election was upsetting, although not surprising.
Catalist’s analysis showed that Harris lost in part due to unprecedentedly garnering under 50% backing from infrequent and new voters, who are typically more young and diverse than the general electorate, according to The Cook Political Report, which initially reported on the analysis on Monday. Favreau, on his “Pod Save America” podcast, expressed particular dismay over The Cook Political Report’s headline stating that Trump had secured Obama’s winning coalition.
“We have been saying since November that we can’t draw too many decisive conclusions about what happened in the election based only on the exit polls — that we have to wait for the gold standard data, which comes from two places:Catalist and Pew,” Favreau said. “We finally got the Catalist data and the headlines out of it were as unsurprising as they were depressing. Kamala Harris lost critical ground with young voters and people of color, especially men of color — especially young men of color. In fact, she gained ground only with married white women and not by much … one point.”
“And super voters in this report — which are people who voted in the last four elections — she did one point better [than former President Joe] Biden among the super voters,” he continued. “But she lost a lot of ground among the irregular voters, people who have voted in just a few of the last four elections. As Amy Walter and Carrie Dann at the Cook Political Report put in their headline, the main conclusion from this report is: ‘The Obama Coalition Turned Into the Trump Coalition.’ Ouch.”
NewsNation political contributor Chris Cillizza on Wednesday also said he was struck by how well Trump performed with nonwhite voters, especially younger ones, based on the new data.
“Latino men moved four times more toward Donald Trump in 2024 than white men without a college degree, which is pretty striking. So again, Latino men 12 points more Republican in 2024 than 2020. That is striking. Men overall six points. Okay, then let’s go to 18 to 29 year olds,” Cillizza said. “So these are the youngest cohort of voters. This had been Barack Obama’s wheelhouse. I mean, he won overwhelmingly, 60 plus percent, with this voting cohort. In 2024, 18 to 29 year olds voted 6% overall — all 18 to 29 year olds — voted 6% more Republican than they had in 2020. But if you look at young people of color, it’s even more striking.”
“Latino 18 to 29 year olds, again, 12 points more Republican than they had been four years ago. Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders nine more points Republican than they had been four years ago,” he continued. “Urban 18 to 29 year olds, those living in cities, 9% more Republican than they had been four years ago.”
Trump performed 1% better with women overall in 2024 against Harris than he did against Biden in 2020. He also did 7% better with Hispanic women and 4% better with Asian-American and Pacific Islander women, neither losing nor gaining ground with black women and white women.

Four major partners exit Paul, Weiss after Trump deal
The departures include prominent Democratic lawyer Karen Dunn and former Mueller prosecutor Jeannie Rhee.
Also leaving the firm isJeannie Rhee, a former Obama-era Justice Department officialwho previously represented Hillary Clinton in a lawsuit regarding her use of a private email server and later joined special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team.
Rounding out the departures are Jessica Phillips, who has represented some of the nation’s largest technology companies in court, and William Isaacson, another high-profile trial lawyer once named litigator of the year by The American Lawyer.
“We were disappointed not to be able to tell each of you personally and individually the news that we have decided to leave Paul, Weiss to start a new law firm,” Dunn wrote in a goodbye email sent to the firm’s partners. “It has been an honor to work alongside such talented lawyers and to call so many of you our friends. We hope to continue to collaborate with all of you in the years to come and are incredibly grateful for your warm and generous partnership.”
Citing the firm’s association with a lawyer who previously investigated Trump for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, the executive order cut the firm and its clients off from government contracts, limited the ability of its lawyers to interact with government officials and even threatened to restrict Paul Weiss, attorneys from government buildings.
Two federal judges have ruled similar orders against law firms Perkins Coie and Jenner & Block unconstitutional. Two additional firms, WilmerHale and Susman Godfrey, have also sued over similar executive orders and final rulings are pending in those cases.
But Paul Weiss and other elite law firms struck deals to try to get in Trump’s good graces.
“Paul Weiss is grateful to Bill, Jeannie, Jessica and Karen for their many contributions. We wish them well in all their future endeavors,” the firm said in a statement.
(They’ve got 1,000s of lawyers around the world, these are just the most radical, and hateful.)

Laughably, it was Susan Rice herself who constructed the “CIA Finding Memo” for President Obama to sign,which authorized sending Surface to Air missiles to Qatar, which would then be transferred by CIA Director Leon Panetta to Libya. It was Susan Rice herself organizing covert operations inside our government using the horribly nefarious Qataris she now says are terrible.
That’s only one background reality amid more than a dozen points of gaslighting hypocrisy I could point out from this interview.However, for the sake of recent headlines, the part where Susan Rice complains about President Trump not trusting or using the CIA’s Presidential Daily Brief is almost too funny {prompted below}.
President Obama famously didn’t put any value on the PDB and didn’t even want it,sending it to almost two-dozen staff so he didn’t have to bother with it. Methinks Mrs Rice doth protest too much. WATCH:
