Obama’s Acting Homeland Security Inspector General Charles Edwards pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud the US government.

Charles Edwards and his subordinate were indicted on 16 counts of theft and fraud, the Justice Department announced in March 2020.

“The indictment charges Charles K. Edwards, 59, of Sandy Spring, Maryland, and Murali Yamazula Venkata, 54, of Aldie, Virginia, with conspiracy to commit theft of government property and to defraud the United States, theft of government property, wire fraud, and aggravated identity theft. The indictment also charges Venkata with destruction of records.”

China Is Now Holding Americans HOSTAGE And The Mainstream Media Refuses To Cover It

China is banning people from exiting the country, including U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents, according to reports.

Over the course of 2021, many Chinese whistleblowers shared on social media their difficulties when applying for passports. For those who had passports, during the exit inspections at the airports, officials interrogated them and carefully checked their passports and visas – often resulting in a refusal to leave the country with officials destroying the passports.

China’s National Immigration Administration (NIA) confirmed in July that the Communist regime was tightening rules around people leaving the country.

Theepochtimes.com reports: At a press conference on July 30, 2021, the NIA, also known as the Exit and Entry Administration said, in an effort to block the coronavirus from overseas, it had implemented a series of strict measures to limit people going abroad: suspend issuing ordinary passports for non-essential, non-urgent affairs; and advising applicants to cancel or postpone travel plans if they are not essential nor urgent.

According to the statistics reported at the conference, the number of ordinary passports issued in the first half of 2021 was only 2 percent of that in the first half of 2019. Most of the passports were issued for purposes of studying, working, and engaging in business activities.

The sudden tightening of the policy disrupted many people’s plans, including Chinese citizens who had settled in America and returned to visit relatives. Netizens on social media said that passport renewal applications submitted six months earlier were not approved, thus making their departures unlikely.

A Chinese businessman living in America, Zhang Shengqi, told Radio Free Asia in August the predicament of his friend. According to Zhang, his friend, who worked at an American college, was stuck in China for a long time. The college employer submitted his application for passport renewal six months earlier, but was still waiting for the result. “When he left America, his newborn baby was less than a month old, now the baby was nearly half-a-year old. His wife had to take care of the baby all by herself.”

At least 22 dead after strong earthquake in western Afghanistan

Jan. 17 (UPI) – At least 22 people died in a 5.3-magnitude earthquake that struck a mountainous region of northwestern Afghanistan early Monday, official media reported.

Local officials in Badghis province said preliminary assessments indicated another four people were injured in the quake, according to Afghanistan's official Bakhtar News Agency.

Most of the casualties came in the Qadis district of the province. The casualty figures were likely to rise, officials warned.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake struck at a depth of 12 miles around 25 miles east of Qala-e-Naw, Afghanistan, at 6:40 a.m. EST, or 1:40 p.m. local time.

"The worst-hit areas were Badruk, Darband-e-Safed and Khak Polak localities in Qadis district, east of the provincial capital Qala-e-Naw," district chief Mohammad Saleh Purdil told China's Xinhua news agency.

Temblors from quake were also felt in the nearby Afghan provinces of Herat and Farah.

Saudi jets ferociously bomb Yemen as details of retaliation deep inside UAE emerge

Saudi warplanes have launched ferocious air raids on Sana'a and other cities after Yemen carried out airstrikes against strategic facilities in the United Arab Emirates in retaliation for its role in the protracted war on the country.

The air raids targeted Libby neighborhood in Ma'een district of Sana’a late Monday, leaving at least 12 citizens dead and 11 others injured, Yemen's al-Masirah television reported,

The network’s correspondent in Sana'a said search for survivors under the rubble of a house continued in Libby, where five other residential houses were also damaged in the airstrikes.

The Saudi airplanes also targeted September 11 Park in northern Sana’a.

Al-Masirah said the kingdom had carried out more than 50 air raids on several areas across Yemen, including the central Ma'rib province, over the past 24 hours.

“The coalition’s warplanes waged 31 raids on al-Wadi, al-Jubah and Harib districts of Ma’rib province, while eight airstrikes hit Ain district of Shabwa province and seven other targeted Sawma'ah district of al-Bayda province,” the network said.

Two air raids hit al-Yatama area in the Khab Washa'f district of the northern Jawf province, and two others targeted Magbanah district in the southwestern province of Ta'izz.

Saudi-led coalition aircraft also attacked al-Jarrahi district in the south of the Red Sea port city of Hudaydah and launched another raid on Haradh district in the northern province of Hajjah.

Earlier in the day, the Yemeni army launched an operation deep inside the United Arab Emirates in retaliation for its role in the Saudi-led war on the impoverished country.

AMA Defies Supreme Court Ruling, Own Code Of Ethics, Calls For Employer Vaccine Mandates

The president of the Chicago-based American Medical Association, Gerald E. Harmon, M.D., wrote on Friday in Crain’s Chicago Business that employers should impose COVID vaccine mandates as a condition of employment.

Last week’s decision by the United States Supreme Court invalidating the Biden Administration’s attempt to force employers to do so “should not,” Harmon wrote, “prevent these employers from doing what must be done in the name of public health: requiring vaccines to protect their workers, our communities and our nation from the ravages of this pandemic.”

“Our only hope is that large employers do what’s right—not only for their own employees and their families, but for the health of our nation,” says Harmon.

If only we could hope that Harmon and his association would honor their own code of ethics. The AMA’s Code of Medical Ethics Opinion 2.1.1 says this:

Informed consent to medical treatment is fundamental in both ethics and law. Patients have the right to receive information and ask questions about recommended treatments so that they can make well-considered decisions about care. Successful communication in the patient-physician relationship fosters trust and supports shared decision making. The process of informed consent occurs when communication between a patient and physician results in the patient’s authorization or agreement to undergo a specific medical intervention.

That’s a plain statement of the informed consent doctrine, which is among the most widely recognized and time-honored principles of medical ethics here and abroad. Everybody of sufficient age and sound mind is supposed to have right to decide what is to be done to his or her body.

It’s “arguably the most deeply rooted doctrine in contemporary medical ethics,” wrote two medical ethics experts last year in the Wall Street Journal. In that column, a director of the Medical Ethics Program at the University of California, Irvine and a law professor at Notre Dame wrote, “Authorities rushing to implement mandatory vaccination protocols are ignoring available scientific data, basic principles of immunology and elementary norms.”

The AMA’s Code of Ethics is for physicians, not employers, but that’s precisely what makes Harmon’s indifference to the principle of informed consent so egregious. He is effectively calling on employers to override the physician-patient relationship entirely, thereby avoiding the duty physicians would have to honor it.

That workaround may not fly legally since employers may have a legal duty to get informed consent to coerced vaccinations, at least as some mandate opponents see things. I have no opinion on that; the point here is not about the legalities.

The point, instead, is about doing what is right and what is ethical. It’s the principle that matters, and it should matter not just for physicians. The AMA’s code of ethics properly states that principle and it is rightly applied to any person or entity, including employers, who are in a position to force medical treatment on somebody else. Harmon and the AMA apparently care nothing about that principle.

“Our world today is far from being tranquil. Rhetorics that stoke hatred and prejudice abound. Acts of containment, suppression or confrontation arising thereof do all harm, not the least good to world peace and security,” he added, according to a translation.

“History has proved time and again that confrontation does not solve problems. It only invites catastrophic consequences."

"Protectionism and unilateralism can protect no one. They ultimately hurt the interests of others as well as one’s own. Even worse are the practices of hegemony and bullying, which run counter to the tide of history.”

Apple Tells Employees They Have "Four Weeks To Comply" After Becoming Eligible For Booster Shots

Apple is one of the first major corporations going on the record and telling its employees that it doesn't just need to see proof of vaccination, but now it also needs proof of a booster shot.

The company is requiring boosters for store and corporate employees, according to an internal email seen by The Verge.

Employees have "four weeks to comply" once they become eligible for booster shots, or else they will have to take "frequent tests to enter a retail store, partner store, or Apple office starting on February 15th," the report says.

Unvaccinated employees must now always provide negative COVID-19 rapid antigen tests before entering the workplace.

Apple's internal memo reportedly reads: “Due to waning efficacy of the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines and the emergence of highly transmissible variants such as Omicron, a booster shot is now part of staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination to protect against severe disease.”

The company started requiring unvaccinated employees to take daily tests before entering the office last year. It also required retail workers to test twice a week.

Meta also said this past week that its employees would need to get booster shots before its company-wide return to office in March.

The publicly traded Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) is the largest newspaper publisher in the United States reaching over 173 million people monthly with hundreds of subsidiary outlets. These outlets give readers a sense of diversity, but in reality, they are all part of the same billion dollar media conglomerate. The USA Today network controls more than 260 daily local newspaper brands, digital marketing service companies ReachLocal, WordStream, and ThriveHive and U.K. media company Newsquest.

This massive media conglomerate has no problem using its multiple news properties to create narratives to shift public opinion. In fact, last March, TFTP caught the paper in an unscrupulous propaganda tactic — pushing identical content written for different states to stoke fear over guns. At the time, if you Googled, “mass shooting surge,” you were returned results with exactly the same headlines, but for different states.

The headline read as follows: “Mass shootings surge in South Carolina as nation faces record high.” As you continued to scroll down the results, you’d see this exact same headline for other states like Florida, North Carolina, New York, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Colorado, Louisiana, Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, and others.

In states which didn’t see a rise in mass shootings, a different title was used but with the exact same point. For example, “Mass shootings fall in Georgia, but nation faces record high.” This title was applied to states like George, Indiana, California, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Alabama, and others.

Given their propensity toward indoctrinating their readership base of millions, USA Today has been in the crosshairs here at TFTP. Most recently, as in just last week, USA Today launched a push to normalize pedophilia. The outlet took to twitter with an extensive thread claiming that “In recent decades, the science on pedophilia has improved. One of the most significant findings is that pedophilia is likely determined in the womb, though environmental factors may influence whether someone acts on an urge to abuse.”

After putting out this thread, they received some well-deserved backlash and frantically deleted the tweets, claiming that the thread lacked information. However, the article mentioned in the tweets remains up, which attempts to garner sympathy for pedophiles, claiming that “Pedophiles may not have control over the fact that they are attracted to kids.”

Though it is important to study what makes a person attracted to children, the idea of normalizing it as a sexual preference or “natural tendency” which happens in the womb, is misguided at best and utterly nefarious at worst. Given their most recent piece, however, it may be the latter.

After publishing an article seemingly normalizing the sexual attraction toward children, the USA Today network went after children again — this time urging readers to hand them over to the state — for equity, of course.

In a column for the VC Star, one of USA Today’s California posts, titled, “California should abolish parenthood, in the name of equity,” the outlet unapologetically states that “If California is ever going to achieve true equity, the state must require parents to give away their children.”

In the article, the author attempts to paint parents as the problem with society, claiming that they pass along privilege to their children which fosters an inequitable society. While it is certainly true that rich parents often times have rich kids, countless other children pull themselves out of their unfortunate socioeconomic paradigms on a regular basis.

What’s more, if we look at the global poverty index, there are less humans living in hunger than ever before, and — outside of the pandemic — this number improves every year.

But according to the paper, this is not enough and if we are truly going to achieve perfect communistic equality, we must make “raising your own children illegal.”

As it will take time for legislation like this to come to fruition, the author suggests not waiting for the law, and acting now by taking poor kids from their parents and giving them to rich parents or “homeowners might swap children with their homeless neighbors.”

Abracadabra, now everyone is “equal.”

Unironically, the article completely misses the point that this would in no way foster some equitable outcome. Instead, it would simply reward poor children with the homes of the rich and penalize rich children, forcing them to be homeless. But logic and reason were not expected in such ridiculousness.

The author admits to the dystopian nature of such a proposal, but says it would be a necessary means to a collective utopian dream in which the hive mind of parentless children can be used to achieve greatness.

Perhaps such coercion sounds dystopian. But just imagine the solidarity that universal orphanhood would create. Wouldn’t children, raised in one system, find it easier to collaborate on global problems?

If you criticize this methodology, you are part of the problem, according to the author and are blind, “Because they just can’t see how our relentless pursuit of equity might birth a brave new world.”

While this article by Joe Mathews is labelled under opinion, this totalitarian’s wet dream still had to go through an editor at USA Today and it was approved to be published.

Nothing highlights a news outlet’s attitude toward the world’s future quite like publishing pieces calling for the removal of children from their parents and seeking sympathy for pedophiles. The idea that the mainstream media, in general, has any credibility left at this point, is utterly mind-blowing — especially since they have been pushing this narrative for nearly a decade.

When the COVID-19 pandemic ends, the world will need a new governance model that differs from its predecessors in several fundamental respects. In particular, while finance, economics, and business remain vitally important, they must serve society and nature – not the other way around.

GENEVA – In 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic and the myriad crises it spawned may finally start to recede. But even in that best-case scenario, a tsunami of new challenges – from the failure of climate action to the erosion of social cohesion – is within sight. Addressing them will require leaders to adopt a different governance model.

When our institutions are well governed, we pay little attention to them. They are simply invisible infrastructure supporting the economy and virtually all aspects of the social order. And “good enough” governance in the second half of the twentieth century enabled income growth and social peace.

Today, however, many people have lost faith in their leaders. Faced with mounting risks and our collective failure to address them, we have started looking for culprits. Some point the finger at inept political leaders, others blame “Davos Man” CEOs, and a desperate, growing minority sees an elite conspiracy behind the current doom and gloom.

The truth is more complicated. At the heart of our failure to foresee and manage global risks – not only climate change and deepening social divisions but also the re-emergence of infectious diseases, debt crises, and inadequate technology regulation – lies an unresolved problem of global governance. Our institutions and their leadership are no longer fit for purpose.

Roughly 95 percent of intercontinental global data traffic travels over undersea cables that run across the ocean floor. Undersea cables are preferred for many reasons. Most importantly, they provide virtually unlimited bandwidth and very low latency compared to satellite communications.

The weekend’s volcano points to an issue that experts have been concerned about for years.

The global undersea cable network is very fragile and can go offline quickly. It is subject to disruptions from accidental cuts, malicious damage, and damage caused by natural disasters like hurricanes, tsunamis, and other incidents.

Undersea volcanos are just one more potential source of outages. How likely is something like this to happen again? While not an exact match, there is quite a bit of overlap when you overlay a submarine cable map and a map of the Pacific Ocean “ring of fire,” which is a region around much of the rim of the Pacific Ocean where many volcanic eruptions and earthquakes occur. The Tonga volcano is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Unfortunately, certain regions of the world, including the Hawaiian Islands, the Suez Canal, Guam, and the Sunda Strait in Indonesia, are major points where many cables converge AND locations where natural disasters occur.

A former Buckingham Palace official says Ghislaine Maxwell would visit multiple times a day.

Queen Elizabeth II stripped Prince Andrew of his royal patronages and military titles on Friday.

The move forces Andrew to defend himself against a sexual-assault lawsuit as a private citizen.

A former royal protection officer said in his first TV interview that the Buckingham Palace staff suspected Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell had an "intimate relationship."

"From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace, at will, we realized … suspected, that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew," the former officer, Paul Page, said in a new ITV documentary,"Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile." "A colleague of mine remembered her coming in four times in one day from the morning till the evening — she kept coming in and out, in and out."

The Duke of York's legal tensions have mounted following the December conviction of Maxwell, a British socialite who was found guilty of five of six sex-trafficking charges brought against her.

On Friday, Queen Elizabeth II held a personal meeting with her son to notify him that he would be stripped of his royal patronages and military titles as a result of the sexual-assault lawsuit brought against him by the Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre, forcing him to defend himself as a private citizen.

The palace's decision came one day after a federal judge in New York denied an attempt by Prince Andrew to dismiss the lawsuit. Since 2015, Giuffre has alleged that Epstein forced her to have sex as a minor with Prince Andrew in his New York mansion, in London, and on Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands in 2001.

Andrew has rejected all of Giuffre's claims and denied ever meeting her. His lawyers have also fought bitterly against her lawsuit, arguing that a 2009 settlement between Epstein and Giuffre shields him from liability and that Giuffre has no jurisdiction to sue.

Though Giuffre was not called to testify during Maxwell's trial, Prince Andrew was mentioned by name in court — both a Maxwell accuser identified as "Jane" as well as the former Epstein pilot Larry Visoski testified that they had seen the Duke of York travel on the financier's private jet.

Prince Andrew also has made statements that could be used against him if the Giuffre lawsuit proceeds. In a widely seen BBC interview in 2019, he described having a close friendship with Maxwell and said their relationship was how he became acquainted with Epstein.
