The man who clashed with Elon Musk's security at a Los Angeles gas station on Tuesday has been identified as Brandon Collado

Collado hit back, claiming that Musk knew his location at all times and was 'stalking him'

He also believed that Musk's ex and the mother of his kids, Grimes, was trying to communicate with him. The singer lives near where the altercation transpired

Collado, an Uber Eats driver, was filmed covering most of his face while driving a white Hyundai when he crossed paths with Musk's son

A man who was filmed allegedly stalking Elon Musk's family has been identified as an Uber Eats worker who insists the billionaire is stalking him with 24-hour surveillance, a new report has revealed.

Brandon Collado is said to be the man behind the stalking, according to the Washington Post, after he was identified when Musk posted his balaclava-clad face to his 122 million followers Tuesday.

In the short video, the suspect confirmed to be Collado can be seen wearing a black hood driving a white Hyundai - and is confronted by a member of Elon Musk’s security team after jumping on the hood of a car Musk's son X had been traveling in.

Collado has in turn made some unhinged comments - including that X's mother Grimes was sending him 'coded' Instagram messages and that the billionaire CEO was in fact stalking him.

Musk, who was not present for the encounter, posted the footage to Twitter to ask if anyone recognized the man, before blaming the incident on a since-banned account that tracked his jet to an LA airport 23 hours prior to the unwanted interaction.

The incident transpired 26 miles from the airport, at a gas station in Pasadena.

In an interview with the Post, Collado confirmed that he has an interest in Musk's family and was the masked man in footage - while making claims that he was being sent coded messages from the mother of Musk's children, the pop star Grimes, through the latter's Instagram posts.

Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, lives in a house near the gas station where the altercation transpired.

Still, police in both LA and South Pasadena - the location of the incident - said there was 'no evidence' that Collado's apparent tailing of the car linked to Musk was related to the jet-tracking account @elonjet, operated by 20-year-old college student Jack Sweeney, who runs several similar accounts.

Speaking to Post reporters Drew Harwell and Taylor Lorenz - who both were temporarily booted off Twitter this weekreportedly after seeking comment for Musk on the incident - Collado claimed to be an Uber Eats Driver, and acknowledged he has an interest in both Musk, 51, and Boucher.

Boucher, 34, split with the billionaire just year after the birth of two-year-old X in 2021, but the pair have reportedly remained on good terms and co-parent their two kids.

The infamous stepdad of slain rapper Tupac Shakur has been released from prison after serving nearly 40 years in the1981 Brinks armored-truck heistthat left two Nyack cops and a security guard dead.

Mutulu Shakur, a 72-year-old former Black Liberation Army member who is terminally ill, was granted release by the US Parole Commission while serving a 60-year sentence, lohud.com reported.

“The decision to grant parole is based on federal law guidelines for ‘old law’ prisoners, finding that Dr. Shakur poses no threat to the community,” reads a statement on mutulushakur.com, a website maintained by his supporters.

The statement claimed parole officials also took into account Shakur’s “exemplary conduct in prison, his medical condition and how much time he has served.”

His pending release was revealed in court documents published last month.

“We now find your medical condition renders you so infirm of mind and body that you are no longer physically capable of committing any federal, state or local crime,” the parole commissioner wrote of Shakur at the time.

Five people were killed when a gunman stormed into a condo board meeting in Toronto, Canada on Sunday and opened fire, cops said.

Police were called to a residential building in Vaughan, Ontario, at about 7.20pm on Sunday to reports of an active male shooter who had shot several victims at a condo in Vaughan, Ontario.

Suspect Shot Dead by Police

The gunman was shot and killed by police at the condo after going on his murderous rampage, according to Chief James MacSween of York regional police.

"When police arrived, an interaction occurred between the officers and a male subject and the subject was shot. He was pronounced deceased at the scene," MacSween said in a statement released late on Sunday.

"Horrendous scene," MacSween said. "Six deceased. One of them is the subject. The other five are victims." In addition to the five dead, one other person was struck by gunfire and was recovering at a hospital on Sunday night.

Who is Francesco Villi?

Ontario's special investigations unit, which becomes involved when there is a death or serious injury involving police, is now investigating the shooting.

The gunman's identity was not released late Sunday and a motive for the violence was not yet known. However, social media users are claiming the shooter is an individual named Francesco Villi, who posted several videos about "injustice" and "torture" from board members of the residential building where the shooting took place. Villi appears to be a resident of the building.

In one of the videos posted on Facebook, Villi accuses some of the board members of manipulating the judges and the court system against him. "I did not have to do this," Villi says as he claims he's being denied comfort in his own home for seven years.

According to reports, Villi was involved in a legal dispute with board members of the condo, Belleria Residences, over the poor air quality in his unit. He was scheduled for a hearing with the condo board committee today.In other videos on his Facebook profile, Villi complains about having a dripping nose due to the bad air quality in his apartment.

Anew congressional report on the origins of COVID-19 has found "no evidence" that the virus came from nature, according to Ohio GOP Rep. Brad Wenstrup, a member of the House Intelligence Committee.

The unclassified report by the House Intelligence Committee minority staff found indications that COVID may have been "tied to China's biological weapons research program and spilled over to the human population during a lab-related incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology."

On a press call with reporters Thursday, Westrup was asked what consequences China's government should face if the biological weapons connection is established.

"I think we're a long way from getting to that point, because we don't, as they say in this report, we don't have a smoking gun," he said. "We don't have something definitive. So it depends on what actually happened. You know, as we dig deeper, maybe we'll come to a conclusion that it didn't come from the lab. But right now, there's no evidence that it came from nature."

While reserving final judgment on the origins of the virus, Wenstrup is calling for an end to U.S. cooperation with China in any gain-of-function research.

"We have to be definitive and know what we're talking about before there's consequences," he said. "But I would certainly hope that we no longer engage with them in research like this. And if we are, I'd want to know why we are."

Westrup said the House Intelligence Committee under GOP leadership will dig deeper into the findings of the new report and lead a full bipartisan investigation in the origins of COVID in the next Congress. He was asked how the GOP probe will differ from what occurred under the Democrats.

"We're going to actually have an investigation where we are actually talking to key players that have been involved with this at every level," he said. "There's a lot of people we want to talk to that haven't had the chance to speak up, or been asked any questions. So that's the difference, but we have to do it in a bipartisan fashion."

Westrup said the committee has seen enough evidence that raises eyebrows.

Thirty-six passengers were injured – including 11 seriously – when a Hawaiian Airlines flight encountered "severe turbulence" Sunday morning.

Authorities met the plane when it landed shortly before 11 a.m. at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu and treated the injured passengers, which included a 14-month-old baby, KHON 2 reported. Twenty people were transported to nearby medical facilities, the outlet added.

"Hawaiian Airlines is continuing to support the 17 passengers and three crew members who sustained injuries today after Flight 35 from Phoenix to Honolulu encountered severe turbulence," the airline said via a statement late Sunday about the incident, which occurred about 30 minutes before landing.

The Airbus 330, carrying 278 passengers, eight flight attendants and two pilots was at an altitude of about 36,000 feet when it hit a pocket of unstable air, sending unbuckled passengers and unsecured objects airborne, according to multiple reports.

"Injuries occur because the aircraft goes down and if you don't have your seat belt on, you stay where you are," Jon Snook, Hawaiian Airlines Chief Operating Officer explained during a news conference Sunday afternoon in Hawaii.

He also confirmed that three flight attendants were among those taken to the hospital.

Emergency responders told KHON 2 that injuries included lacerations, bruising, loss of consciousness and at least one serious head injury.

Rescue operation after Thai navy ship sinks off the coast

The HTMS Sukhothai corvette was on patrol in the Gulf of Thailand, 20 miles from the pier at Bangsaphan district in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, when it struck bad weather.

The winds blew seawater onto the warship and knocked out its electrical system.

The Royal Thai Navy sent three frigates - HTMS Ang Thong HTMS Bhumibol HTMS Kraburi - and two helicopters with mobile pumping machines in an effort to remove the water.

But the strong winds made the mission impossible. As more seawater flowed onto the ship, it started to sink.

In the early hours of Monday (UK time) the navy said 75 sailors had been rescued, with ships and helicopters searching for another 31 people still in the water.

Eleven people are currently being treated in hospital.

The navy published photos of a group of people wearing orange vests sitting in a black inflatable raft, with waves swelling around it in the darkness.

Sukhothai was built in the US and had been in use since 1987.

Thailand has been experiencing some extreme weather recently - the country's northern and central parts are seeing their coldest temperatures of the year.

In the far south, there have been storms and floods, prompting warnings for ships to stay ashore.

Fusion technology is promising but years away from usefulness, according to experts, who added that investments in wind, solar, and electric vehicles aren't helping with the climate issue.

A future of nuclear fusion powering the country with limitless, carbon-free energy is promising but remains far out of sight, despite U.S. officials and scientists hailing what they described as a "breakthrough" in fusion technology, according to experts.

"There's a lot of hype and misreporting around this announcement," said Myron Ebell, director of the Center for Energy and Environment at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. "It's more an incremental advance than a breakthrough. Nuclear fusion research is very expensive and requires incredible amounts of energy and technology. This latest technological development is a significant step forward, but we're many decades away from having fusion power for powering our homes."

Federal researchers and Biden administration officials on Tuesday announced they created the first nuclear fusion reaction that generated more energy than was put into it to start the reaction.

"This is one of the most impressive scientific feats in the 21st century," Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said at a press conference in Washington. "America has achieved a tremendous scientific breakthrough."

Granholm added that this "landmark achievement" will "go down in the history books."

Scientists from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a federal research facility, used lasers to combine hydrogen atoms into helium, mimicking the fusion reaction that powers the sun and stars. While this process may hold the key to a clean and potentially limitless energy source without the risk of radioactive waste, researchers had been unable to conduct fusion experiments that generated more energy than they consumed — until this month.

Specifically, the latest fusion experiment conducted last week and unveiled on Tuesday put in 2.05 megajoules of energy and resulted in an output of 3.15 megajoules, meaning there was a net gain of energy from the reaction, officials said.

However, this calculation didn't account for the significant amount of energy needed to power the lasers operating the fusion reactor. In this case, 300 megajoules needed to be drawn from the electrical grid to operate the lasers, according to Lawrence Livermore officials who spoke at the press conference.

In other words, even though the fusion reaction itself produced more energy than it consumed, the reaction couldn't have been conducted in the first place without exponentially more power from what could be called the experiment's wall-socket energy.

"So, there are many, many steps that have to be made in order to get to inertial fusion as an energy source," Mark Herrmann, program director for weapon physics and design at Lawrence Livermore, told reporters.

Still, President Biden has a decadal vision, to get to a commercial fusion reactor within 10 years," Granholm said Tuesday. "This shows that it can be done."

Fusion researchers say the earliest viable fusion reactors could come online would be 2040. Other experts argue fusion is unlikely to play a major role in power production before the 2060s or 2070s.

"There are very significant hurdles, not just in the science, but in technology," Kim Budil, director of Lawrence Livermore, said at Tuesday's event. "A few decades of research on the underlying technologies could put us in a position to build a power plant."

Another issue is price, as tritium, one of the key isotopes for fusion reactions, is among the most expensive substances on earth.
