Great Reset: UK Prepares to Introduce a ‘Digital Pound’ Central Bank Digital Currency

The de facto head of His Majesty’s Treasury announced this week that the Bank of England has begun consultations on implementing a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) that could usher in the globalist vision of a cashless society in which all transactions are traceable by the government.

Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt revealed that, as a part of his ‘Edinburgh Reforms’ of Britain’s financial services, the Bank of England will begin consultations on the design of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) which would act as a digital version of the pound sterling.

Hunt, an anti-Brexit, pro-China figure resurrected from the David Cameron era, said in a written statement to Parliament that the government will begin “bringing forward a consultation in the coming weeks to explore the case for a central bank digital currency – a sovereign digital pound – and consult on a potential design.”

“The Bank of England will also release a Technology Working Paper setting out cutting-edge technology considerations informing the potential build of a digital pound,” he added.

In contrast to Bitcoin, which functions on a decentralised basis in which no single person can control its functions, ownership, or value, a CBDC would be similar to traditional fiat currency issued by a central bank, such as the Bank of England, and therefore could suffer from the same inflation issues if the central bank decided to issue more of it — like printing cash.

Should a CBDC replace hard currency altogether, the government would be able to track every purchase or transaction made by the public.

The Bank of England has also admitted that a digital pound could be “programmable“, meaning that the government could potentially add mechanisms to prevent people from spending their own money on things the state disapproves.

This has led to concerns that Western governments could implement a system akin to the social credit score in Communist China, which has already been used to blacklist millions of citizens from travelling, including those who dissented against the authoritarian rule of Chairman Xi Jinping.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who was essentially endorsed by Chinese state media in the contest to replace Boris Johnson as PM — which he lost — and who married into the multi-billion Infosys tech dynasty in India, has been at the forefront of pushing for the introduction of a CBDC in Britain.

Central Bank Digital Currencies are also heavily supported by the globalist Davos-based World Economic Forum (WEF), which listed it among the technologies that will “change the world by 2027“.

The WEF said that Central Bank Digital Currencies will “revolutionise the financial system” through “increasing financial inclusion and improving the lives of billions of people globally by providing access to cheap and affordable financial services.”

“For banks and issuers, they’ll be able to integrate their existing infrastructure and be able to provide a broad spectrum of CBDC-linked payment-related services and exercise cross-chain interoperability protocols for universal payment access to digital national currencies, stablecoins, NFTs, the Metaverse and much more,” the WEF suggested.

Alongside the nominally Conservative government in the United Kingdom, the Biden administration in the United States and the European Union are also both working towards the implementation of digital versions of their currencies.

EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak, who worked closely with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, helped steer the media and scientific community away from questions about whether COVID-19 could have originated in a lab, emails released under the North Carolina Public Records Act show.

Emails between Daszak and University of North Carolina virologist Ralph Baric, another collaborator of the laboratory at the pandemic’s epicenter, offer new behind-the-scenes insights into Daszak’s influence. Baric’s experiments with the Wuhan lab included gain-of-function experiments to make viruses more transmissible or virulent.

The White House was dissuaded from investigating the possibility of a lab origin of COVID-19 in part by discussions that included both Daszak and Baric, according to a March 2020 email written by Daszak.

And in a separate May 2020 email, Daszak told Baric that he used talking points intended to discourage reporters from asking questions about potential gain-of-function work on coronaviruses.

Daszak has been a vocal proponent of a natural origin of COVID-19. EcoHealth Alliance has worked closely with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and received millions in government funding to discover and study animal viruses.

Though the public does not have a complete picture of the pre-pandemic work underway, none of the viruses published by EHA or the WIV could have directly sparked the COVID-19 pandemic.

These new revelations add to the evidence of Daszak’s central role in shaping public perceptions about COVID-19’s origins. He secretly organized a statement in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet deeming a lab origin a “conspiracy theory.” He served as the U.S. representative on the 2021 World Health Organization origins investigation in China, which dismissed a lab origin as “extremely unlikely.” He also formerly chaired a Lancet Commission probe into the origins of COVID-19 which was disbanded after Daszak declined to share his grant reports.

No lab release hypotheses ‘anytime soon’

Daszak told Baric in March 2020 that a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) discussion they participated in helped sway the Trump White House away from examining a possible lab origin of COVID-19.

Many think the now-famous mRNA vaccines came into existence in the blink of an eye, at warp speed, in the throes of a deadly pandemic. But for Drew Weissman, who, along with his research partner Katalin Karikó, is credited with developing the platform that made the life-saving mRNA vaccines possible, RNA technology was a long time coming.

Weissman, 63, grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, before attending Brandeis University, and then receiving both a doctorate and a medical degree from Boston University. He eventually landed a fellowship in Dr. Anthony Fauci’s lab at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, where he spent the better part of the ’90s researching dendritic cells, a key biological player in starting the body’s immune response. So, when he found himself at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, the question of how to bolster the human immune system was already burning in his mind.

Then, serendipity stepped in. Weissman bumped into Karikó, a biochemist at the university, while waiting at the Xerox machine for articles to be photocopied. They began talking about their shared research interest. Karikó, a native of Hungary, had spent decades researching messenger RNA – the biological instruction manual for the production of proteins in human cells – and was convinced of the potential it held for human therapeutics.

Just like that, a scientific dream team was formed.

Their research, however, was an uphill battle. For years, Weissman and Karikó’s experiments with RNA ended in failure. The key problem: The RNA was provoking an immune response that made their lab mice sick. But in 2005, with little support left from the scientific community, the pair had a breakthrough. They realized that by modifying the RNA, it would subvert detection by immune cells, and the proteins that the body synthesized from the RNA would train the immune system to recognize a specific foreign invader. With this modified RNA, the mice no longer got sick and showed the immunity Weissman and Karikó had hoped for.

So, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, it didn’t take long – just the amount of time to sequence the genome of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, create the mRNA based on that sequence and send the final product through the regulatory process – for a safe and effective Covid-19 mRNA vaccine to be approved for use.

Since then, millions of lives have been saved by the vaccines. Covid-19 is still a threat, but vaccinated and boosted Americans have largely been able to return to a normal cadence of life.

EXCLUSIVE: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler scrubbed mention of a meeting with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and key details of a meeting with billionaire Democratic donor George Soros from the public version of his calendar.

Gensler's public calendar showed that he only had a staff meeting on Aug. 7, 2021 while his private calendar lists a meeting with Clinton, according to a Fox News Digital review. And on Aug. 20, 2021, his public calendar lists a meeting with Soros, but hid the meeting's agenda which his private calendar shows was to discuss a forthcoming Wall Street Journal op-ed the business magnate was planning to write.

Gensler's private calendar revealing the discrepancies was obtained by the watchdog group Energy Policy Advocates and shared with Fox News Digital. The group was only able to obtain the internal records after filing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the SEC.

In recent days, around the time Fox News Digital contacted the SEC, the agency updated Gensler's public calendar to include his meeting with Clinton in August 2021. As recently as Wednesday the public calendar didn't include the meeting and archived copies of the webpage from April also list just a meeting with staff.

“Justice is Rigged” – Brazil Election Breakdown: Officials Shut Down Website and Remove Evidence After It Was Exposed

Argentine data expert Fernando Cerimedo gave a worldwide presentation on the anomalies in the Brazilian presidential election. While there is no direct proof of fraud, the statistical anomalies are so egregious to demand a thorough investigation.

In his original report on Nov. 4. Cerimedo pointed out the discrepancies between pre-2020 voting machines and 2020 voting machines, which have internal memory and are auditable.

In the 2020 machines, Jair Bolsonaro won the election 51.04% to 48.96% for Lula da Silva. In the non-auditable pre-2020 machines, Lula won 52.39% to 47.61% for Bolsonaro – even in the very same regions and cities.

These results were based on the publicly available data of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) from Oct. 31.

“One hour after we presented our results on Nov. 4, the TSE site was taken down. No one knows what happened. All documents received an update at 7 pm. At 11 pm, the update went online again. When it went live again, entire sections were erased from the database.”

“This was an attack not only on Brazil, but on democracy. Does the TSE really think we are so stupid? You cannot modify the data from the ballot boxes.”

“Justice is rigged,” Cerimedo said.

“In 2014 the company in charge of the elections, Smartmatic had access to the transmission of data,” Cerimedo said. The leftist party PSBD complained that “Smartmatic can interfere with our election process” in 2014.

The same was possible 2022, when US company Oracle ran the election machines, Cerimedo said. “If external sources can interfere with the election process, the election cannot be verified… I hope the US Securities and Exchange Commission sees this.”

Friend of Italian PM Giorgia Meloni among three killed in Rome coffee shop shooting

A friend of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and two other women were shot dead Sunday when a man opened fire at a Rome coffee shop.

The women were holding a board meeting for their condominium in Rome’s Fidene district when the 57-year-old gunman stormed in and opened fire, according to Italian authorities.

The suspect was overpowered and detained by other residents at the meeting. Arriving police arrested the man.

“He came into the room, closed the door and shouted, ‘I’ll kill you all’ and then started to shoot,” one witness said, according to Italian news agency Ansa.

The suspect was known to board members and had been in a series of disputes with the residents’ association, according to witnesses.

He had previously been reported to authorities for making threats against local residents, witnesses said.

NASA’s Webb Reaches New Milestone in Quest for Distant Galaxies

An international team of astronomers has used data from NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to report the discovery of the earliest galaxies confirmed to date. The light from these galaxies has taken more than 13.4 billion years to reach us, as these galaxies date back to less than 400 million years after the big bang, when the universe was only 2% of its current age.

Earlier data from Webb had provided candidates for such infant galaxies. Now, these targets have been confirmed by obtaining spectroscopic observations, revealing characteristic and distinctive patterns in the fingerprints of light coming from these incredibly faint galaxies.

“It was crucial to prove that these galaxies do, indeed, inhabit the early universe. It’s very possible for closer galaxies to masquerade as very distant galaxies,” said astronomer and co-author Emma Curtis-Lake from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. “Seeing the spectrum revealed as we hoped, confirming these galaxies as being at the true edge of our view, some further away than Hubble could see! It is a tremendously exciting achievement for the mission.”

The observations resulted from a collaboration of scientists who led the development of two of the instruments on board Webb, the Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) and the Near-Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec). The investigation of the faintest and earliest galaxies was the leading motivation behind the concepts for these instruments. In 2015 the instrument teams joined together to propose the JWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES), an ambitious program that has been allocated just over one month of the telescope’s time spread over two years, and is designed to provide a view of the early universe unprecedented in both depth and detail. JADES is an international collaboration of more than eighty astronomers from ten countries. “These results are the culmination of why the NIRCam and NIRSpec teams joined together to execute this observing program,” shared co-author Marcia Rieke, NIRCam principal investigator, of the University of Arizona in Tucson.

The first round of JADES observations focused on the area in and around the Hubble Space Telescope’s Ultra Deep Field. For over 20 years, this small patch of sky has been the target of nearly all large telescopes, building an exceptionally sensitive data set spanning the full electromagnetic spectrum. Now Webb is adding its unique view, providing the faintest and sharpest images yet obtained.

The JADES program began with NIRCam, using over 10 days of mission time to observe the field in nine different infrared colors, and producing exquisite images of the sky. The region is 15 times larger than the deepest infrared images produced by the Hubble Space Telescope, yet is even deeper and sharper at these wavelengths. The image is only the size a human appears when viewed from a mile away. However, it teems with nearly 100,000 galaxies, each caught at some moment in their history, billions of years in the past.

Group Behind 9/11 Gets Hands on Material to Make Nuclear Bomb—Report

A shipment of enriched uranium, which can be used to make nuclear weapons, has fallen into the hands of 9/11 terrorist group al-Qaeda, according to a Middle Eastern report.

The material was allegedly being delivered from Iran to Houthi rebels in Yemen when some of it was intercepted by the terror group, Israeli newspaper Maariv said, citing unnamed sources.

The respected conservative publication, one of the most-read newspapers in the country, said on Monday that the incident happened in the al-Bayda area of Yemen.

Details were scarce, and it remains unclear how part of the shipment was reportedly intercepted or diverted.

This is a developing story and Newsweek has reached out to the U.S. State Department to seek clarification and comment.

Newsweek has also contacted Iranian authorities.

Al-Qaeda, an Islamist terror group based in the Afghan-Pakistani borderlands, was founded by Osama bin Laden in the 1980s.

The group suddenly became a household name in the U.S. after al-Qaeda operatives hijacked and crashed four planes in American skies in September 2001, targeting sites including the World Trade Center in New York. Some 3,000 people were killed in the atrocity known afterwards as '9/11.'

The attack led to the decades-long and controversial "war on terror" and bin Laden was eventually killed in May 2011. The group's numbers began to dwindle and a blood-thirsty splinter group, Islamic State, began to recruit jihadists and gain notoriety instead.

But al-Qaeda hit the headlines again in August this year when a U.S. drone strike in Afghanistan killed Ayman al-Zawahiri, who had helped bin Laden plot 9/11 and had subsequently replaced him as leader.

The allegations that al-Qaeda has now sourced some enriched uranium come amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and Iran over the country's nuclear program, with talks on the issue breaking down two months ago, in September.

At the time, Israel's defense minister Benny Gantz claimed Iran would be able to produce enough enriched uranium to make three nuclear warheads within a few weeks.

And he claimed to know of 10 facilities in Syria that were producing weapons to arm Iran, which in turn was arming its proxies such as the Islamist group Hezbollah in Lebanon.

This weekend, Israel reportedly warned Lebanon that it would bomb its international airport in Beirut if it allowed arms transfers to Hezbollah via a private airline, the Dubai-based TV network Al-Arabiya reported, citing Saudi sources.

A United Nations watchdog warned earlier this year that Iran had violated a 2015 accord by increasing its nuclear weapons stockpile.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a statement in March stating Iran had a stock of 33.2 kilograms, or 73.1 pounds, of uranium enriched to up as much as 60 percent fissile purity.

This is what Donald Trump has unleashed upon the United States: an unprecedented act of domestic terrorism.

A violent mob incited by his false claims of a stolen election stormed the US Capitol, causing chaos, smashing windows, vandalizing offices, and forcing evacuations and lockdowns. Vice President Mike Pence, who was presiding over the counting of electoral votes, had to be rushed out of the Senate chamber by Secret Service agents. The Senate floor was cleared, and one pro-Trump terrorist claimed the podium and shouted, “Trump won that election.” Reports emerged of explosions, tear gas, and gunshots. One person was shot and reported killed. An explosive device was apparently found. Senators and House members were told to shelter in place. Capitol police engaged in an armed standoff with Trump’s brownshirts. It was outright rebellion, an attempt at an actual political coup. An outraged Sen. Mitt Romney exclaimed to a reporter, “This is what the president has caused today, this insurrection.”

Trump owned this terrorism. He has whipped up his cultish followers with lies and conspiracy theories. At a rally on Wednesday morning, Trump told his supporters that the 2020 election was a grave crime and that Republicans and Democrats on the Hill were about to destroy American democracy by accepting the results. (During that event, Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s lawyer and chief coup-stirrer, called for “trial by combat.”) Trump directed his frenzied supporters toward the Capitol, where they breached police lines and took over the building. They shut down Congress. They terrorized lawmakers and staff, they fought with security forces, they broke American democracy.

No sooner had Twitter employees succeeded in mobbing sitting President Donald Trump off the social media platform in 2021 despite there having been no violations of Twitter's terms of service made by Trump than the tweeps, as they are known, took it upon themselves to censor medical information.

In Monday's installment of the Twitter Files, as told by Bari Weiss, it was revealed that as of January 9, 2021, one day after Trump's speech on Twitter was silenced, "employees expressed eagerness to tackle 'medical misinformation' as soon as possible," Weiss reported.

Internal communications show that Twitter employees were eager to take control of content and bend it to their own biases. "Yes," one employee wrote, "we absolutely plan to do this in 2021 - with the timeline being 'as soon as possible."

While COVID was the thrust, as the world was still engaged in an ongoing pandemic, the employee wrote that "COVID is one specific disease; medical misinformation is a much broader category of harmful content."

"We've laid a lot of the groundwork for policy and product behavior through our work on COVID and the election," the employee wrote, seemingly proud of their efforts to silence and suppress the voices of doctors, election officials, and civilians they did not agree with on these hot-button issues.

The employee went on to note the departments at Twitter that were hard at work censoring users on the platform, saying "the Misinfo Policy team... along with the folks in Health Experience, TwS, Research, and other teams across the company are now focussed on getting to a place of improved maturity in how our policies are actualized (across reporting, operations, global scale, scope, etc."

"We'll have more to share on this soon!" The employee wrote.

In response to this, another employee was also gleeful about the news that they could soon begin operating to suppress and censor content based on their own biases and assumptions rather than based on written policy.

"Very excited to see us handling more categories of misinformation," the employee wrote. "For the longest time, Twitter's stance was that we aren't the arbiter of truth which I respected but never gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.

"That said," the employee continued, "my dad is an MD (to give context) and medical information is a really hard topic. Even for COVID-19 we only covered a narrow category of information. As an example, is 'Take vitamin C, vitamin D, elderberry, and xylitol with GSE daily to reduce covid-19 risk' good information, creative marketing, or misinformation? Personally, I'm not sure and I suspect there are views on both sides."

It was in the spirit of banning "Covid misinformation" that people who criticized lockdowns and school closures, like Dr. Jay Bhattacharya was banned. In a previous Twitter Files drop, Weiss reported that Twitter prevented noted doctor Jay Bhattacharya's tweets from trending during the pandemic-inspired lockdowns.

Bhattacharya was an early critic of lockdowns and spoke out against their negative impact on children, who were not as susceptible to the Covid virus.

Members of white supremacy groups who have been accused of acts including the recent plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer have earned a new name on social media—Vanilla ISIS.

The term trended on Twitter on Saturday morning after author Malcolm Nance appeared on the MSNBC program “Velshi,” where he discussed the recently unfoiled plot that saw the arrest of 13 men, as well as the fact that groups of white men who have either plotted or committed similar acts, usually armed, are not referred to as domestic terrorists but given descriptions like “the Far Right” or “armed militias,” but not as domestic or American terrorists.

Velshi also weighed in on the fact that in other countries, those who committed similar acts against their nation were referred to by their organization’s names—such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda, which helped bring the “Vanilla ISIS” trend to life, after Nance took to Twitter to state that the term should gain traction.
