In the University of Idaho’s Kibbie Dome on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, a candlelight vigil was held in honor of the four victims that were brutally murdered in a home just off campus on November 13.

The families of Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves were all in attendance, but the family of fellow University of Idaho student Xana Kernodle was unable to make it.

Although they announced a separate service for her on Friday, many were saddened that there was no one there to speak on her behalf during the vigil and looked into her family situation.

Who is Xana Kernodle’s mom?

Reports claim Xana's mom is a woman named Cara Kernoodle is currently an inmate in a county jail in northern Idaho.

True crime sleuths are making the claim after discovering a woman with the same last name as the 20-year-old in jail records.

Cara Kernoodle was arrested six days after Xana's murder.

An image of the inmate list at Kootenai County Jail in Idaho has been circulating social media as web detectives scour for any and all information regarding the Idaho murders — and many allege that Xana Kernodle’s mother, Cara Denise Kernodle, is on that list.

Arrested just six days after the tragic murders occurred, Cara is being held on a $50,000 bond for Possession Of A Controlled Substance — drugs under Schedule 1 and Schedule 2.

There’s no official confirmation on the identity of Xana’s mother and it’s unclear whether Cara’s arrest has any connection with the crime that occurred, but original skepticism surrounding the newly uncovered information gained traction when baseball writer Stacie Wheeler joined the conversation.

Her now-deleted post included a link to previous arrests that were made in 2013, listing Cara Denise Kernodle as being arrested in Rathdrum, Idaho, for driving without privileges.

Many others in the conversation seemed confident that they could confirm this Cara person was Xana’s mother — linking a photo of her with two girls that they believed were Xana and her sister Jazzmin.

Xana’s mother’s identity has not been confirmed, but her father has previously spoken out about his daughter’s death.

While some crime sleuths have criticized Cara online, it is important to remember that Xana's mother is grieving the loss of a child and should not be linked to the crime without evidence.

ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) — A group of historians and archivists have announced plans to open a new national archive in the Albuquerque area focusing on unidentified aerial phenomenon. Led by author and researcher David Marler, the National UFO Historical Records Center will establish the largest historical archive dedicated to the preservation and centralization of UFO/UAP information in the United States.

At a presentation announcing the new archive during International UFO Congress in Phoenix on Oct. 14, Marler said, “What’s the importance of all this? Looking at these historical cases, providing context for what we’re hearing about today, well, it demonstrates that there’s a rich, diverse history of this UFO phenomenon wherever you look, whether it’s newspapers, government documents historical archives, etc.”

Marler continues, “I was thinking about this a while back, when you look at the UFO subject we have the National UFO Reporting Center, great. Documents from the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) and J. Allen Hynek’s personal Project Blue Book files. It also includes personal collections from researchers Philip Mantle, Antonio Huneeus and Lou Farish, among others.

“I want to postulate this to you: What if we could centralize all the historical data under one roof,” Marler said. “What if we could be able to cross-reference all this data to look for patterns, to gain insights, to add to the already growing amount of information and knowledge we have? What if we could scan and make accessible all of this material to the worldwide UFO community and get some really important people looking at this data?”

Marler continues, “Imagine the case files and reports that have never been seen. The audio tapes that have never been heard. The potential discoveries that could lead to answers, potentially, to this mystery. So what am I proposing? The largest gathering of UFO historical U.S collections.”

Members of the new organization include Jan Aldrich, Rod Dyke, Barry Greenwood, Dr. Mark Rodeghier and Rob Swiatek. “Many people data mine the internet,” Marler said. “I’m here to tell you I would argue only 40 to 50 percent of the data is out on the internet. We still have physical case holdings that need to be digitized. I really look forward to trying to preserve the history and hopefully we’ll be here at future events to share that history with you and to help researchers and producers like James Fox.”

In a press release, the organization stated, “Our mission is to collect, preserve, and provide historical UFO materials to the general public and interested parties. With the accumulated data, we hope to assist with serious research endeavors and aid in an accurate chronicling of UFO/UAP history for present and future generations regardless of belief or non-belief in the subject.”

Efforts are currently underway to find a building for the new non-profit archive. “We want to base it in Albuquerque, New Mexico because of the state affiliation with the subject,” Marler said.

Dear TK Readers:

Very shortly, I’m going to begin posting a long thread of information on Twitter, at my account, @mtaibbi. This material is likely to get a lot of attention. I will absolutely understand if subscribers are angry that it is not appearing here on Substack first. I’d be angry, too.

The last 96 hours have been among the most chaotic of my life, involving multiple trips back and forth across the country, with a debate in Canada in between. There’s a long story I hope to be able to tell soon, but can’t, not quite yet anyway. What I can say is that in exchange for the opportunity to cover a unique and explosive story, I had to agree to certain conditions.

Those of you who’ve been here for years know how seriously I take my obligation to this site’s subscribers. On this one occasion, I’m going to have to simply ask you to trust me. As it happens, there may be a few more big surprises coming, and those will be here on Substack. And there will be room here to to discuss this, too, in time. The police chief of one Florida's biggest cities has been put on administrative leave after she asked a deputy to look the other way when she was driving a golf cart on the road illegally.

Tampa Police Chief Mary O'Connor was recorded on body cam footage attempting to use her position to get out of a traffic stop with Deputy Larry Jacoby.

O'Connor, who in 1995 was kicked off the force after an incident where she was charged with assault, obstruction and disorderly intoxication, was driving the cart on a public road in Pinellas County without a license on November 12 at 7.30pm.

She and her husband Keith O'Connor were stopped by Jacoby, before she asked him: 'Is your camera on?'

When Jacoby confirmed it was, O'Connor said: 'I'm the police chief from Tampa... I'm hoping that you'll just let us go tonight.'

Jacoby said he thought he recognized O'Connor and let her and her husband go after a handshake.

O'Connor left him with her card and a message as they drove away: 'If you ever need anything call me - serious.'

Local reporters had tried to get the footage, which cops claimed not to have, for weeks before it was finally released on Thursday.

The footage finally came out with a message from O'Connor, writing: 'I want you to hear it from me first prior to news stories circulating.'

She added: 'This was the first time we had ever taken the golf cart onto a public roadway, prompting the need for a license plate.

'During our conversation with the deputy, which I knew was being recorded on body-worn camera, I use poor judgment by noting my position at the Tampa Police Department and asking him for for forgiveness for our mistake.'

The Chagos Islands may be little more than specks in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but they are at the center of a looming diplomatic row over a key American military base and the rise of Chinese power.

Lawmakers on both sides of the Atlantic have raised fears that the British government's decision to begin negotiations to hand over the islands to Mauritius could allow China the chance to build its own military facility on the archipelago — right under the nose of American forces at Diego Garcia.

The issue is one of the most important strategic locations in the Indian Ocean, from where U.S. B1 and B52 bombers can reach maritime chokepoints, vital sea lanes and even potential Chinese bases everywhere from Djibouti to Pakistan.

The British government says any deal will protect the U.S. operation at Diego Garcia.

But British MP Daniel Kawczynski is warning his American counterparts that handing sovereignty to Mauritius - with its deepening economic ties to Beijing - offers no guarantee that China won't soon have its own base on the island chain.

'If you look at the amount of investment the Chinese have in Mauritius, I would argue that for all intents and purposes they control Mauritius,' he told DailyMail.com.

'They have a policy of hoovering up all of these islands in the South China Sea... the idea the Chinese are not going to take advantage of us giving up these islands is wrong.'

He said he was writing to American colleagues to sound the alarm, and has called a debate at parliament's Westminster Hall next week.

Rep. Mike Waltz, ranking Republican on the House Armed Services Subcommittee on Readiness, demanded an immediate review.

'Since the Biden Administration gave away Bagram - a strategic airbase only a few hundred miles from the Chinese border and our only base situated between Iran, Russia, and China - the base in Diego Garcia is absolutely critical,' he said.

'These reports are very concerning and something the readiness subcommittee should look into.'

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino on Friday fired back at Twitter for censoring a tweet from President Donald Trump.

“Twitter is full of shit – more and more people are beginning to get it,” Scavino wrote on his White House account.

Twitter censored President Trump’s early morning tweet in reaction to the ongoing rioting in Minneapolis “in the interest of preventing others from being inspired to commit violent acts” under it’s “glorifying violence” policy, as Breitbart News reported.

The president warned rioters in Minneapolis he would assert federal control.

“Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts,” he wrote. “Thank you!”

Scavino accused Twitter of unfairly targeting Trump instead of the rioters.

“Twitter is targeting the President of the United States 24/7, while turning their heads to protest organizers who are planning, plotting, and communicating their next moves daily on this very platform,” Scavino wrote on Twitter.

An elderly Alabama woman was brought to tears after she was handcuffed, arrested and put in jail by two officers after she failed to pay a $77.80 trash bill - with her community labelling the act as 'shameful.'

Martha Menefield, 82, was approached by the officers at her home on Sunday, the City of Valley police insisting that the elderly woman had been treated with respect.

Menefield had initially thought that the arrest was a bad joke, thinking she had already paid the trash bill.

'You're not kidding?' she said, speaking to KTLA, before the officers, who remain nameless, slowly put the elderly woman into handcuffs.

'The cuffs, they were so heavy,' she said, her eyes welling with tears as she spoke of the ordeal.

She said that one of the officers had told her not to cry while they made the arrest.

'How would you feel if they came and arrested your grandmama?' she asked the officer who she claims didn't respond.

'I'm just happy my grandkids weren't here to see that. That would have upset them. I was so ashamed, and it's been bothering me.'

On Tuesday, Valley's chief of police, Mike Reynolds, defended the arrest in a post on the city's Facebook page.

But thousands took to Facebook in defense of the 82-year-old woman, who had lived in the Valley home for nearly 30 years, slamming the officers and describing their behavior as 'shameful.'

One user said: 'This is so shameful. The parties responsible deserve every single bit of the negativity it brings.'

Another user implored the mayor to pardon Menefield: 'Without government, who would kidnap an 82-year-old for forgetting to pay her trash bill for a couple months?

'God forbid some of your officer's pool together the less than $100 to pay it. I'm sure it cost way more than that in police resources to arrest her.

'Mayor Riley, you have the ability to fix this nonsense by pardoning Ms. Martha. Use it.'

Meanwhile one user took a swipe at Reynold's lack of remorse for Menefield: 'Protecting and serving. I'm sure Mike Reynolds wouldn't mind his grandmother being arrested for something similar.'

A few members of the community were shocked by the 'ridiculous' nature of the arrest and questioned the department on 'what judge would sign off on this.'

One user wrote: 'This is just ridiculous. I have to constantly call about picking up trash along our roads.

'By the way Senior Citizen shouldn't even have to roll their Trash along the road or pay for the Services. This is Sad.'

Another wrote: 'I don't care what the court decided and what judge signed off on it, this is simply one of those warrants that you ignore.

'Good lord, just cut off her service and don't turn it back on till she's paid up.

'Anyone participating in her arrest is complicit and should be ashamed of themselves and that includes the person that posted this press release here.

EXCLUSIVE – An FBI agent testified to Republican attorneys general this week that the FBI held weekly meetings with Big Tech companies in Silicon Valley ahead of the 2020 presidential election to discuss "disinformation" on social media and ask about efforts to censor that information.

On Tuesday, lawyers from the offices of Attorneys General Eric Schmitt of Missouri and Jeff Landry of Louisiana deposed FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan as part of their lawsuit against the Biden administration. That suit accuses high-ranking government officials of working with giant social media companies "under the guise of combating misinformation" to achieve greater censorship.

Chan, who serves in the FBI’s San Francisco bureau, was questioned under oath by court order about his alleged "critical role" in "coordinating with social-media platforms relating to censorship and suppression of speech on their platforms."

During the deposition, Chan said that he, along with the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force and senior Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency officials, had weekly meetings with major social media companies to warn against Russian disinformation attempts ahead of the 2020 election, according to a source in the Missouri attorney general's office.

Those meetings were initially quarterly, then monthly, then weekly heading into the presidential election between former President Donald Trump and now President Biden. According to a source, Chan testified that in those multiple, separate meetings, the FBI warned the social media companies that there could be potentially Russian "hack and dump" or "hack and leak" operations.

In their complaint, the GOP AGs noted an Aug. 26 podcast episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," in which Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that "the FBI basically came to us" and told Facebook to be "on high alert" relating to "a lot of Russian propaganda." Zuckerberg added that the FBI said "there’s about to be some kind of dump… that’s similar to that, so just be vigilant."

As noted in the complaint, Zuckerberg stated, "If the FBI… if they come to us and tell us we need to be on guard about something, then I want to take that seriously." Zuckerberg said he could not recall if the FBI specifically flagged the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation, but said that the story "basically fit the pattern" that the FBI had identified.

"On information and belief, the FBI’s reference to a 'dump' of information was a specific reference to the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop, which was already in the FBI's possession," the complaint said.

The Balenciaga Fall 22 presentation comes in the form of a message from the past about what could have been and never was. Proportions are played with, creating new silhouettes and evolving others, including Balenciaga signatures like the Basque waist jacket and the track suit. Front-to-back pieces are studies of classic suiting and tweed dresses that question closure placement, reverse-engineering constructions to become tailored. Ultra-stretchy knits make these and shrunken twin sets easy to put on.

Balenciaga icons are reimagined for modern comfort: A bell-shaped parka is affixed with a detachable travel pillow at the neck. Conventional pieces are twisted to create a cross between a bathrobe and a trench coat. Vintage slip dresses are disassembled and pieced back together. Five-pocket jeans are cut up to create a three-piece silhouette that can be worn as a miniskirt, pants, or XL thigh-high boots. Fluid tailoring gives a deconstructed suit an unlined raglan sleeve, in the collection’s Belgian avant-goth tones. Relaxed, low-rise trousers and jeans show an underwear waistband above a double-B belt for an elongated look. A Couture-like bell-shaped puffer’s detachable bow can be used as a scarf. Wrap closures use DIY ways of fastening, like oversized safety pins. The show’s first look seals the body from the neck down with a gloved top and the first pair of five-pocket Pantaboots.

The Excavator is a cowboy boot-inspired thigh-high wader. The Kensington is a unisex square-toed ballerina flat, worn like a slipper. The Falkon Boot has a wide, pliable upper, giving its silhouette additional volume. The Lindsay Bag reinterprets a Balenciaga classic, inspired by a buckled 90s purse. The Waist Bag is belted and cinched around its middle. The Metro Bag, a front flap purse, is made with knitted cords of faux leather and a massive metal chain. The Emo Bag combines grommeted fetish straps, extra hardware, and super stone-washed leather.

A commitment to responsible production continues, represented this season with 89.6% certified sustainable plain and printed ready-to-wear fabrics as well as pieces of upcycled leather used in garments and accessories.

There are freakouts underway on the left and we see a fascinating take by Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) who expressed concerns about the First Amendment. The Satanic Temple has been approved to host an after-school program for students at a Virginia elementary school starting in December, according to reports.

“After School Satan Club” will be offered at B.M. Williams Primary School in Chesapeake, Virginia, beginning on Dec. 15, according to a flyer promoting the club.

The club’s flyer, which “After School Satan Club” national campaign director June Everett posted to Reddit, said the monthly Satanist meetings will teach children “benevolence and empathy, critical thinking, problem-solving, creative expression, personal sovereignty, and compassion.”

The “After School Satan Club” flyer describes Satan “as a literary figure who represents a metaphorical construct of rejecting tyranny and championing the human mind and spirit.” Although the club announcement said it “does not attempt to convert children to any religious ideology,” it does admit to offering “activities centered around the seven fundamental tenets” of the Satanic Temple.

Everett told NBC affiliate WAVY that the club was organized in response to the formation of a Christian after-school group, the “Good News Club,” at the same Virginia elementary school. She said the Satanic club goes “to schools where other religious clubs are operating” to give an alternative to the Christian-based option, WAVY reported.

“The initial shock is always like, ‘Oh my God, Satan!’ Everett told the outlet. “We do have our deeply held religious beliefs, which are our seven tenants. If you look them over, it’s essentially, ‘be a good person,'” she added.

After parents complained about the Satanic Temple’s club being allowed to operate on school property, Chesapeake Public Schools (CPS) Superintendent Dr. Jared Cotton sent a letter to families clarifying that this club is not a school district-approved club but still allowed to host the gathering after hours with parental permission, according to the letter reported on by The Spectator World.

“The School District has long held policies and procedures in place which allow varied community groups to use our publicly funded facilities outside of the school day,” the letter stated. “By law, CPS cannot discriminate based on beliefs among groups wishing to rent our facilities.”

“It is important to note that CPS does not endorse any of the activities or content of groups that host events on school district property outside the instructional day,” the letter added.

The issue over the after-school club was added to the agenda for the school board’s Dec. 12 meeting, WAVY reported. Everett said that, regardless of the meeting’s outcome, “the board doesn’t really get to decide … who has access and who doesn’t,” according to the outlet.

“So while I appreciate that they are letting concerned community members come in and vent, it’s really out of their hands,” Everett continued. “Even if you don’t like us, we’re part of what makes the United States a great country, where you can believe what you want to believe or not.”

CPS parent Joe Lathrop called the satanic after-school club’s claim to be non-religious “intellectually dishonest.”

“Several people have told me that the new Satan after-school club at Golden Hills elementary is not a religion but a philosophy club … Then why did they choose Satan? Why not the Jean Paul Satre [sic] existentialism club? Why not the Descartes club? They put Satan in the name for a reason,” Lathrop wrote on Facebook, according to The Spectator World. “People should stop being intellectually dishonest and just own up to the fact that they want kids to worship Satan as a secular god.”
