Democrat New Mexico Governor Begs For More FBI Agents — Again — Amid Crime Wave

Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham asked the Justice Department (DOJ) to back her petition for further FBI assistance to combat surging violent crime, she revealed Wednesday.

FBI Director Christopher Wray failed to give Grisham more resources when she reached out to him with similar pleas in June, according to a press release. She recently sent Attorney General Merrick Garland a letter that urged assigning more FBI agents to her state.

“Both New Mexico law enforcement agencies and the FBI are partners in addressing and preventing violent crime,” Grisham told Garland, according to the release. “It is therefore imperative to provide the tools and support to achieve our common goal of ending violent crime in New Mexico.”

New Mexico had the 13th-highest homicide mortality rate nationwide in 2020, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data said. Its largest city, Albuquerque, had an estimated violent crime rate of about 1,043.4 offenses per 100,000 inhabitants in 2019, based on statistics collected by the FBI.

After the FBI sent more resources and agents to its Buffalo, New York office, homicides declined by 50%, she cited Wray as claiming.

“Once these resources are allocated to New Mexico, I am confident the FBI and state law enforcement officers will achieve similar success as the Buffalo office,” Grisham stated.

Grisham led her Republican November election opponent, former meteorologist Mark Ronchetti, by about 6.1% in FiveThirtyEight’s polling average Wednesday. In a televised debate Friday, Ronchetti said violent crime continued to rise after her administration came to power.

“What was the answer from this governor?” he argued. “It was to target police, and then make doing their jobs more difficult by removing qualified immunity.”

The FBI, broader DOJ and a representative for Grisham did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Democratic Arizona gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs was stumped during a Monday forum after a Hispanic moderator asked her to name one specific lesson she has learned from Latinos.

During the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Forum in Phoenix, Arizona, each candidate received questions without their opponent on stage with them. Mexican journalist León Krauze, who works as an anchor for the Spanish-language news outlet Univision, asked Hobbs about what she has specifically learned from the Latino community.

Hobbs was stumped by the question and struggled to name anything specific she has learned from the Latino community, but mentioned she has a sister-in-law who is Latina, and also tried to say a few words in Spanish.

“Today, today you said that growing up in Arizona, you have seen and heard how impactful the migrant community, talking about the Hispanic community, has been. Let me ask you, how has it impacted you personally? What have you learned — specifically learned — from the Latino community?,” Krauze asked Hobbs.

“Oh, that’s a great question. Um, I don’t necessarily think about it that way, in those terms. I think I really value my relationships across the board with different folks, and I learn all the time from people in my life.My sister-in-law, she is Latino and her family… I love hanging out with them and practicing my español – un piquito. So, but yeah, I mean, I just, it’s… I’ve learned so much from her family, but I think it’s really hard to separate out Arizona and subtract Latino culture because it’s so much a part of who we are as a state, and I — Arizona wouldn’t be Arizona without the… what the Latino community brings,” Hobbs responded.

“So there is not one specific lesson you can share… other than theespañol… it’s one-third of the state,” Krauze followed up.

“Uh, yes absolutely. I mean I think there’s, there’s many lessons: the, the emphasis on, uh, family values, uh, hard work, uh. Those are something that I value in my own life and you know, uh, it’s something that I… that I respect,” Hobbs said.

The Daily Caller contacted Hobbs about her remarks and why she struggled to list specifics about what she has learned from the Latino community, to which she did not immediately respond.

SATELLITES have spotted Russia's massive mega submarine which is believed to be armed with Vladimir Putin's new "weapon of the apocalypse" drone nuclear torpedos.

Nato reportedly issued a warning as they lost track of the Belgorod - a 604ft, 30,000 ton, nuclear powered submarine - as fears loom Vlad could detonate a nuke in a show of force to the West over Ukraine.

Belgorod however has now been spotted in satellite pictures by expert naval observers operating in the Barents Sea - a part of the Arctic Ocean.

The relatively shallow waters are key proving ground for Putin's navy with the sea's coasts belonging to Russia and Norway.

Pictures first released by naval warfare researcher H I Sutton show the submarine surfaced in the Barents on September 22.

And another satellite picture shows the massive boat operating on September 27 - just one day after the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic.

The pictures appear to definitively end any speculation that Belgorod - known for being equipped with drones and a mini submarine slung beneath her belly - could have been involved in the sabotage.

A reporter confronted Democratic Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser on Wednesday after the city’s deputy mayor allegedly grabbed a gym trainer by the neck.

Fox 5 DC reporter Sierra Fox approached Bowser with the alleged footage of her employee, Chris Geldart, grabbing the trainer in the Arlington gym’s parking lot during an Oct. 1 incident. The mayor refused to answer Fox’s questions about the footage.

“I haven’t seen it —” the mayor said.

“You’re looking at it now, this is the video,”Fox interjected.

“Actually, I asked you for it earlier where I could really view it and that’s where I will view it, in my office,” Bowser replied.

“You can see it right now, though, in the video,” the reporter said. “So you are going to speak to us later about this at a different time?”

“No, actually, I probably won’t,” the mayor said. She then claimed that she did not receive information from the outlet that she had asked for.

The office then sent a statement to Fox saying that it “take[s] any accusations seriously” but it sounds like these incidents commonly happen. (WTF, thats the statement from the Mayors office???)

The trainer at Gold’s Gym, Dustin Woodward, exclusively shared footage with Fox 5 that allegedly showed Geldart putting his hand on Woodward, the outlet reported. The confrontation reportedly arose after Geldart hit the parked car of Woodward’s girlfriend after opening his car door.

Woodward said Geldart began screaming and cursing after he confronted him. So Woodward turned around and told him to “shut up,” the outlet reported. Geldart then got into Woodward’s face and eventually grabbed him by the throat, footage appeared to show, according to the outlet.

Woodward later told the outlet that the gym had been putting up with Geldart for a long period of time.

“It’s a little frustrating, right? Because he’s way too big to be trying to be a bully, especially with his position. Something should be done. It’s not okay,” Woodward said. “We’ve been dealing with him for a while at Gold’s. Multiple locations actually, that’s how we even figured out who he was. So, something needs to be done because you can’t just abuse your power like that. That’s pretty frustrating on my end.”

Footage from Wednesday night showed Fox knocking on Geldart’s garage door asking if he would like to answer to the video, but he did not answer and eventually drove away.

The Arlington Police Department confirmed in an email to the Daily Caller that Geldart turned himself in following the issuance of a warrant for Assault & Battery and was released on summons.

Fox News’ Peter Doocy joked Wednesday night thatcontrary to President Joe Biden’s claim that “no one fucks with a Biden,” people do in fact “fuck” with him.

Biden was caught on a hot mic Wednesday telling a Floridian that “no one fucks with a Biden” while visiting the Sunshine State to survey damage from Hurricane Ian. The man responded, “Yeah, you’re goddamn right.”

Despite Biden’s insistence, it appears that not everyone feels the same way, at least according to Doocy.

“The President says no one fucks with a Biden,” Doocy said on “Special Report” with host Bret Baier. “But it appears OPEC+ has done just that, the group of oil producing nations agreeing to cut oil production by 2 million barrels per day.”

OPEC+, which includes the 15 OPEC members and the consortium’s Russian-led allies, voted Wednesday to slash oil production by two million barrels per day, despite pleas from the White House to pump more oil.

The decision came as OPEC+ is worried demand for oil will fall as the world enters a recession, according to Bloomberg. The Biden administration has been “panicking” about OPEC’s decision to cut production as they fear it will hurt Democrats’ chances in the upcoming midterm elections, CNN reported.

OPEC+ originally agreed to a small production boost in August after Biden visited Saudi Arabia and asked the organization to pump more oil.

The Lebanese parliament will meet next week to retry to elect a new president for Lebanon after September's trial failed, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Thursday.

Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri had urged the parliament to convene on October 13, at 11 AM local time (08:00 GMT), the news agency said.

The Lebanese constitution stipulates that a candidate must receive the approval of two-thirds of the Parliament's 128 members. If the MPs fail to elect a President during the first session, the second session will only require the candidates to receive 65 votes (50%+1).

In September, the Lebanese parliament failed to elect a new President during the first session aimed at doing so due to none of the candidates receiving the mandated two-thirds of the vote.

During the first session, Berri announced that 63 MPs cast a blank paper, i.e., they did not vote for any of the candidates, 36 voted for Michel Mouawad, and 11 voted for Salim Edde.

After several lawmakers left Parliament, there was no longer a quorum, and the second round of elections could not take place. This means that the speaker must call for another parliamentary session to try and elect a new president again.

The six-year term of President Michel Aoun will end on October 31. He had become president following a deadlock that lasted for two and a half years and spanned more than 45 parliamentary sessions.

The deadlock stemmed from an internal crisis that the country was going through due to political disagreements, leaving candidates without the required number of votes.

The country is also in somewhat of a political crisis in the meantime, with a transitional cabinet running it as the formation of a new one has been facing delays for about a month due to political disputes.

Lebanon, a country of around six million people, is grappling with an unprecedented financial crisis that the World Bank says is on a scale usually associated with wars.

The Biden administration says it will take legal action after a court declared Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) illegal Wednesday.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling“deeply disappointed” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who said his department will work with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to devise an “appropriate legal response.” The case will go back to a lower court while nearly 600,000 DACA recipients currently in the U.S. will be able to remain in the program.

“The Department of Justice respectfully disagrees with the decision and will continue to vigorously defend the lawfulness of DACA as this case proceeds,” DOJ spokesperson Dena Iverson told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Wednesday’s decision is part of a 2018 lawsuit led by nine Republican states, contesting the legality of then-President Barack Obama’s 2012 program.

“DACA—part of Dems’ program to flood our country with aliens—is illegal & will stay enjoined. Huge victory for the Rule of Law in America!,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wrote in a tweet Wednesday.

The Biden administration attempted in August to codify DACA as a federal regulation before the latest decision. A federal judge ruled in July 2021 that the Biden administration couldn’t process new DACA applications, which the administration appealed.

“Today, we are taking another step to do everything in our power to preserve and fortify DACA, an extraordinary program that has transformed the lives of so many Dreamers,” Mayorkas said at the time.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) says it will continue to accept DACA renewal requests and will accept new requests without processing them.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun responded to the Israeli occupation's rejection of Beirut's proposed changes to the Lebanese-Israeli maritime borders. He underlined that Lebanon had proposed the changes to the US-mediated deal with its rights to extract oil in its exclusive economic zone in mind.

"The remarks prevent any explanations that do not fall into the framework detailed by Lebanon for the demarcation process and during the negotiations," President Aoun said.

The US-brokered talks between Beirut and "Tel Aviv" were at a "make or break" point after the latter rejected the negotiations, top Lebanese negotiator Elias Bou Saab told Reuters earlier in the day.

The deal "is 90% done, but the remaining 10% could make it or break it," Bou Saab added, dealing that he had been in constant contact with US mediator Amos Hochstein.

DPRK holds drills with 12 fighter jets in response to South Korea

Thursday afternoon witnessed a dozen North Korean jets conducting a firing drill after the DPRK’s launch of two short-range ballistic missiles earlier in the day, according to South Korea’s military source to NK News.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said that eight North Korean fighter jets and four bombers flew in formation north of the inter-Korean air border for about an hour, seemingly carrying out air-to-surface firing exercises, adding that some of the DPRK warplanes violated South Korea’s “special reconnaissance line", which purposes to the north of an agreed inter-Korean airspace buffer zone outlined in the 2018 inter-Korean military agreement on both sides of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) dividing the Koreas.

The South Korean military sent what it labeled as an “overwhelming” response with 30 aircraft that included F-15K fighter jets, but there were no specifications regarding their proximity and location to the North Korean formation.

However, Yonhap News Agency, without citing a source, denied that the DPRK warplanes breached the buffer zone that would have called for “tactical measures” from Seoul. The military also allegedly relayed to Yonhap that North Korean formation flights are rare and had not been seen in the past year, and it remains ambiguous if the DPRK jet activities and the South Korean response took place earlier but went unpublicized.

It is worth mentioning that Washington has approximately 28,500 troops stationed in South Korea, escalating the tension in the heated region.

Pyong Yang launched two ballistic missiles into the East Sea on Thursday, which marked the sixth DPRK missile test event in the last two weeks following its launch of an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) over Japan into the Pacific Ocean two days earlier which according to experts and the NK Pro Missile Tracker is its longest missile test ever.

In light of Tuesday's test, the US and South Korean fighter jets conducted an attack-flight training whereby a South Korean F-15K jet dropped “precision” bombs on a fake target, and that evening, six missiles were fired into the East Sea but one failed while carrying a warhead.

The navies pertaining to the US, South Korea, and Japan also executed joint missile defense training on Thursday, which according to US Indo-Pacific Command, featured destroyers from each of the three nations and notably from the USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group.

The US aircraft carrier, after having just visited South Korea for anti-submarine drills with ROK and Japanese forces last week, made an unusual return to waters east of the peninsula on Wednesday as an attempt to “strengthen the readiness posture of the ROK-U.S. alliance,” the JCS said.

The galaxy's slightly distorted wedge shape suggests to some a cosmic herring and to others its popular moniker, The Whale Galaxy. Either way, it is similar in size to our own Milky Way. In this sharp color image, the galaxy's yellowish core, dark dust clouds, bright blue star clusters, and red star forming regions are easy to spot. A companion galaxy, the small elliptical NGC 4627 is just above the Whale Galaxy. Faint star streams seen in deep images are the remnants of small companion galaxies disrupted by repeated encounters with the Whale in the distant past. The Whale Galaxy is also known to have spouted a halo of hot gas glowing in X-rays.

Russia, Mali reaffirm strengthening security cooperation in Sahel

Russian President Vladimir Putin and the interim Malian President, Assimi Goita, in a telephone conversation, reaffirmed their intentions to strengthen security cooperation to eradicate terrorist groups in the Sahel region, according to the Kremlin.

"The parties confirmed mutual commitment to further strengthen Russian-Malian security cooperation to eradicate terrorist groups across Mali," the Kremlin's statement read.

Mali is one of the countries in the Sahel region most affected by terrorist attacks.

Earlier in September, nearly 50 people were killed after ISIS-affiliated jihadists mounted an attack on a village in northern Mali, according to AFP.

According to sources, the raid was followed by intense fighting between them and other armed groups, including Al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadists.

"More than 45 civilians were killed when the Islamic State took over (on Tuesday) – they burned down houses, the market and other places," the official said.

Mali has been under threat from terrorists since 2012 and has witnessed two military coups since 2020.

Colonels angry at the government's handling of the long-running insurgency seized power in August 2020, then carried out another coup in May the following year.

The junta that came to power in August 2020 has had sharp tensions with France, which had sent troops to its former colony in what many saw as a bid to still have a foothold in the country.

The Malian people have a profound sentiment of resentment toward France due to its failure to achieve any tangible achievements in terms of the country's security, political instability, and economic issues in the last ten years.

The leaders of Mali and Burkina Faso recently met on September 4 to strengthen their military cooperation.

Burkina Faso's Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba and Mali's Colonel Assimi Goita agreed to "better examine and strengthen" the military partnership between the two countries.

"The two countries... intend to pool their efforts in the fight against terrorism," the statement said.

The Israeli occupation is ready to help Kiev against Russia in the ongoing war, but without crossing the "red lines" that could undermine "Tel Aviv's" security, the Israeli occupation's ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, said on Tuesday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in late September that he was "shocked" the Israeli occupation was not joining the West in supplying Kiev with weapons in light of the Ukraine war.

"Israel is actively helping Ukraine, but without crossing the 'red lines.' These 'red lines' are connected with a very difficult situation in the Middle East. Israel is, in fact, sitting on top of a powder keg. Israel needs to act very carefully and take into account, first of all, the interests of its own security," Brodsky said.

The Israeli occupation has a clear understanding of the consequences of crossing these so-called "red lines".

"I understand that they need to defend their territory, but I have learned from our intelligence that Israel has been actually supplying these defense systems to other countries," Zelensky said on September 23.

What comes off as inaccurate about the Ukrainian President's words is that Israeli media reported earlier in the month that an Israeli arms manufacturer was supplying anti-UAV systems to Ukraine via Poland, with the sales conducted through Warsaw to circumvent "Tel Aviv's" refusal to sell advanced arms to Ukraine.

The firm reportedly informed the Israeli Ministry of Security that it was selling arms to Poland, though it pretended not to know the latter was then giving the weapons to Kiev to use against Russia.

The anti-UAV systems enable their users to intercept and disrupt drones. Classified as "advanced defensive technology", the systems are not approved for sale to Kiev, though "Tel Aviv" did not seem to be interested in foiling the deal.

The Israeli occupation uses anti-drone systems around the Gaza separation wall, the Palestinian-Lebanese borders, and the Palestinian-Syrian borders, with "Israel" claimed to be one of the world's top developers and manufacturers of the technology with the involvement of various Israeli arms manufacturers, such as IAI, Elbit, and MCTECH.

The Israeli occupation has refused to join the West's bid in arming Ukraine, arguing that it would harm its already sensitive ties with Russia.

However, due to "Israel's" support of Ukraine, tensions soared between "Tel Aviv" and Moscow, prompting the latter to close the "Jewish Agency for Israel's" work in Russia, giving rise to further tensions.

Relations between "Israel" and Russia have witnessed tension in recent months, as the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador to Russia, Alexander Ben Zvi, over a statement by Yair Lapid when he was foreign minister in April, when he condemned Russia's practices in Ukraine, describing them as "war crimes".

In addition to the Jewish Agency issue between "Israel" and Russia, a dual-citizen Israeli-Ukrainian by the name of Vladimir Kozlovsky was captured in the Lugansk People's Republic as he was fighting among the mercenaries siding with Ukraine. It is evident that his release will not take place easily in light of the lack of trust between "Israel" and Russia.

His ratings in the 25-54 demo were lower than the 7 p.m. program that aired an hour before his show, as well as several cartoon and rerun programs, including “Spongebob,” “Seinfeld,” “The Office” and “Bob’s Burgers,” the outlet reported. Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show, which also airs at 8 p.m., attained 20 times the number of views that Cuomo received Monday night.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes earned just over 1.4 million viewers for “All In,” CNN’s Anderson Cooper had a viewership of 814,000 and Newsmax’s Eric Bolling garnered 151,000 viewers for “The Balance” Monday night, all topping Cuomo, the NY Post reported.

The NewsNation host made a return to primetime television after CNN fired him in 2021 for his involvement covering for his brother, former Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, after 11 women accused him of sexual assault. Chris’ former employer suspended him “indefinitely” in November 2021 after the New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts indicating he attempted to obtain information on his brother’s accusers through media contacts and helped prepare for Andrew’s public response.

The New York Times then reported in February 2022 that CNN executives learned of allegations that Cuomo had sexually assaulted a young temp while employed at ABC News in 2011. The accuser, identified as “Jane Doe,” alleged Cuomo asked her for sex after inviting her to meet so he could give her career advice.

NewsNation announced Cuomo’s employment with the network in July, saying they planned for him to host a primetime show in the fall. The announcement followed reports that NewsNation President Michael Corn, a former co-worker of Cuomo’s at ABC News, was in the process of hiring the former CNN anchor.

Opposition activist Vladimir Kara-Murza has been charged with treason over alleged cooperation with organizations based in NATO member states, several media outlets reported on Thursday, citing sources in law enforcement.

Kara-Murza, who holds both British and Russian citizenship, is reportedly suspected of aiding and abetting foreign powers hostile to Russia.

According to newspaper Izvestia, investigators claimed that he had consulted for people working for foreign intelligence services and was paid $30,000 per month for his services.

Sources cited by RT Russian and TASS claimed that Kara-Murza was for years involved with organizations based in NATO member states and had helped them undermine Russian national security. RT’s source named the same sum of monetary compensation that Kara-Murza had allegedly received.

Russian prosecutors believe that they can prove that the activist’s actions constitute a crime of state treason, the outlets said. The felony is punishable by a prison term of up to 20 years.

Kara-Murza has long been a prominent member of anti-government political forces in Russia. He also garnered the attention of Western press for surviving two alleged poisonings, which he and other critics of the Russian government claimed to have been assassination attempts and connected with his criticism of the authorities.

The 41-year-old has been held in Russian custody since late April, as law enforcement investigate him for allegedly slandering the country’s armed forces. The case is based on a speech that he delivered before the Arizona state Congress in March, where he accused Russian troops in Ukraine of alleged war crimes.

Kara-Murza has permanent resident status in the US, according to Western media. The Russian Justice Ministry designated him an individual acting as a foreign agent on the day he was arrested.

Investigators said that ex-Ukrgazbank chief executive officer and his two deputies channeled money out of the bank via payments for services to “pseudo intermediaries” who brought big clients to the lender. Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba was toppled over the weekend by 34-year-old Captain Ibrahim Traore. This military takeover was followed by protests against French intervention.

The ECOWAS delegation arrived this Tuesday morning to meet Traore in the president's office. In two years, ECOWAS has seen 5 coup d'etats in its 15 members.

In a statement, Traore said that ECOWAS' visit was to "make contact with the new transition authorities," saying that he learned "with astonishment and regret" that messages were circulating on social media calling for his mission to be hampered.

"Any person who commits acts aimed at disturbing the smooth course of the ECOWAS mission will face the force of the law," Traore said.

Yesterday, security forces fired harmful tear gas at protesters outside the French embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, according to an AFP journalist. Two French nationals detained in Iran confess to stirring unrest

Iran has released a video of two French citizens, Cecile Kohler and Jacque Paris, arrested for espionage in Tehran.

The two are unionists with France's National Federation of Education, Culture, and Vocational Training.

In the clips, Kohler confessed to being an “intelligence and operation agent of French foreign security service.”

On his part, Paris admitted to DGSE's goal of exerting pressure on the Iranian government.

“Our goal in French foreign security service is to put pressure on Iran’s government,” he said.

The clips are part of a "forthcoming documentary" to air on Iranian state television where they are accused of "bringing cash to the country to stir dissent."

France did not immediately respond to the release of the video clips. However, in May, the French government demanded their release and condemned what it called "these baseless arrests."

Kohler and Paris were in Iran "to prepare the conditions for the revolution and the overthrow of the Iranian Islamist regime," as per their confessions.

Kohler could be heard saying that they intended to finance strikes and rallies, as well as employ guns "to fight the police."

The two French nationals infiltrated into Iran as tourists on April 28 but turned out to be spies for Western intelligence agencies.

According to the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, the duo attempted to foment instability and social disorder earlier in June when some teachers took to the streets in peaceful protests to demand fair wages and better working conditions.

German cities overwhelmed with Ukrainian refugees – media

More than a million Ukrainian refugees are now living in Germany, according to the Interior Ministry

German cities and towns have almost reached their accommodation capacities amid a massive influx of Ukrainian refugees, the heads of some two dozen municipalities in the southwestern state of Baden-Wurttemberg said in an open letter to the Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser, Suddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) reported this week.

Local authorities have exhausted all resources to aid new arrivals, the letter signed by 23 municipal leaders says, in a desperate plea for help. The officials said they were in an “extremely precarious situation” and are running out of space to resettle people.

The municipalities “have their backs against the wall,” the seven-page letter seen by SZ says, adding that they are “at a dangerous tipping point” and calling on federal authorities for support.

The number of Ukrainian refugees living in Germany surpassed the one million mark at the end of September, SZ noted, citing Interior Ministry data. The government now expects those numbers to rise higher over the winter, depending on the trajectory of the war in Ukraine.

The number of migrants arriving to Germany fromSyria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Turkey via the so-called ‘Balkan Route’ is also on the rise, the authorities warn.

“We need more coordination between the federal and state governments when it comes to distributing those seeking protection,”Markus Lewe, the head of the Association of German Cities and a mayor of the western German city of Munster, told SZ. He called on federal and regional authorities to provide aid “as promised” and to “adjust their funding to the high number of refugees.”

The federal government, however, appears reluctant to offer help to the struggling municipalities. The issue of accommodation for refugees is something that the regional authorities should be responsible for, Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner said, pointing to the “distribution of powers” between the federal and regional governments.

Interior Minister Faeser admitted the rising number of refugees “worries” her and announced a government meeting on the issue of refugees on October 11. According to SZ, federal authorities plan to allocate €2 billion ($1.96 billion) to the problem this year. Yet, that would hardly be enough, authorities warned.

“Federal states [located] close to the border will soon only be able to cope with the influx of refugees by providing temporary accommodation,” interior minister of the German eastern state of Saxony, Armin Schuster, said.

Wisconsin Democrat Gov. Tony Evers’ Dept. of Public Instruction Told White People to Wear Wristbands as ‘Reminder of Your Privilege’

White people were told to engage in a racial shaming exercise to remind them of their privilege by Wisconsin Democrat Governor Tony Evers’ Department of Public Instruction (DPI) when he was its superintendent.

A document promoted by the Department of Public Instruction, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, suggested white people “wear a white wristband as a reminder about your privilege.”

Democrat Governor Tony Evers, who is up for reelection, was the Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction from 2009 to 2019. During his time as Superintendent, the department worked alongside Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA).

Evers spoke highly of VISTA, remarking that Wisconsin was “very fortunate” to have assistance from VISTA volunteers, and that their work was “very important.”

A document titled “Addressing Racial Privilege: A Mental Model for White Anti-Racists,” was distributed at a joint DPI-VISTA training in 2013, while Evers was the Superintendent. The document urged people to engage in a number of anti-white racial shaming exercises, including wearing wristbands as “a reminder about your privilege, and as a personal commitment to explain why you wear the wristband.”

The document also told white people to “find a person of color who is willing to hold you accountable for addressing privilege” and to “make a daily list of the ways privilege played out, and steps taken or not taken to address privilege.”

“Set aside sections of the day to critically examine how privilege is working,” it read. Another section demanded attendees “be willing to teach others and hold them accountable.”

The document asked a number of questions, including “What am I doing today to undo my privilege? and “How do I define my moral obligation?”

All of the questions, demands, and action items were centered around the “big question,” which read “How do I live with my privilege?”

As the Superintendent of Public Instruction, Evers had control over the curriculum of Wisconsin public schools. After initial outcry about the racially charged document, the Wisconsin DPI scrubbed the document from their website.

A section of their website, titled “Power and Privilege,” denies that DPI officials had asked students or school personnel to wear wristbands to atone for their white privilege.

The website does, however, say that after a training session with VISTA volunteers, “​​a packet of ‘additional resources’ was offered by the trainers as the volunteers left. Subsequently, that entire resource packet was posted to the VISTA web site.”

Users who click on the link to the document currently on the website are directed to a page that says, “Misconceptions and misinformation about the document are being spread by an out-of-state entity that has no connection with the public schools in Wisconsin.”

Politifact has stated “DPI was responsible for a flier given to 13 federally paid workers that suggests white people consider wearing the white wristbands.”

Breitbart News contacted the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, asking the department if it was “willing to denounce exercises or activities that intend to get white students, volunteers, or personnel to atone or apologize for racial privilege.”

Communications Director Abigail Swetz told Breitbart News, “I assume it was removed because it does not reflect best practices in equity trainings, and as an education agency, we are constantly learning and continue to revise best practices.”

Swetz did not offer any condemnation of such exercises or activities, but rather went on to say, “The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction strongly supports equity in education, which includes trainings about combatting racism.”

Before becoming the Communications Director of DPI, Swetz was engaged in leftist activism and called herself a “proud queer public school teacher.” Swetz also spoke at the Women’s March in Madison and received the “Teacher of the Year” award from GSafe, a leftist organization that organizes teachers and students to engage in progressive activism.

Lula, Brazil's ex-president, who led the country from 2003 to 2010, was considered the favorite to win the race in a single round.

Mexican Feds Issue Warrant for Former Border State Governor

A former border state governor has become the target of Mexican authorities following the issuance of an arrest warrant for organized crime for the second time.

On Wednesday afternoon, Mexico’s National Immigration Institute issued a statement confirming the issuance of a migratory alert for Francisco Javier “N.” Breitbart Texas confirmed the notice is for former Tamaulipas Governor Francisco Javier Cabeza de Vaca (2016-2022).

The migratory alert was issued at the request of Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office (FGR) after a Mexican district judge issued an arrest warrant.

The arrest warrant is not the first time Cabeza de Vaca has been singled out by Mexico’s federal government. In 2021, a similar issue arose after a judge issued a warrant on those same charges, however, Cabeza de Vaca’s immunity as governor blocked the matter at the time. His party, National Action, claimed that the warrant was a political ploy by President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO). When that warrant was first issued, INM also issued a migratory notice. At the time, Cabeza de Vaca and AMLO had clashed over the president’s strategy to fight cartels amid rumors of a presidential challenge in 2024.

It remains unclear if Cabeza de Vaca will run for president in 2024 against AMLO’s successor from the Morena party. Currently, three of AMLO’s closest allies are generally considered possible successors.

A cattle rancher from Washington state was sentenced on Tuesday to 11 years in prison for a “ghost cattle” scam that cost Tyson Foods and another unnamed company over $244 million.

Cody Allen Easterday used his company, Easterday Ranches Inc., to charge the two companies for over 265,000 cattle that didn’t exist, according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) news release. “As a result of the fraud scheme, Tyson and Company 1 paid Easterday Ranches over $244 million for the purported costs of purchasing and feeding over 265,000 ghost cattle.”

Easterday’s company agreed to own the cattleon behalf of the two companies. “Once the cattle were slaughtered and sold at market price, Easterday Ranches would repay the costs advanced – plus interest and certain other costs – retaining the difference as profit,” according to the news release.

Once the cattle were taken to market, Easterday was then supposed to be responsible for paying the ownership costs to the companies, the DOJ said in the news release.However, the cattle never existed.

“No one is above the law. Mr. Easterday amassed significant personal wealth, yet, he wanted more, so he defrauded his victims of nearly a quarter billion dollars by charging for cattle that never existed.” US Attorney Vanessa R. Waldref said in the news release.

Easterday previously pled guilty in March 2021, to misleading the companies and fraudulently receiving the money. He also agreed to pay back the money.

Marine Le Pen the French right-wing politician accused French authorities of "infantilizing" the population by suggesting people wear warmer clothes to save on heating as an energy crisis brews in Europe.

At a National Assembly meeting, Le Pen said: "A few days ago, Economy and Finance Minister [Bruno Le Maire] explained to us that the French budget is calculated 'up to every euro'. This came before the wardrobe tips to spend the winter better, which were successful in the government, from warm sweatshirts to turtlenecks. Earlier this week, French media reported that many politicians have started wearing winter clothes despite that it's 18 degrees-celsius, promoting 'energy-saving' policies. The finance minister has recently tweeted a photo of himself wearing a turtleneck in his office.

The minister noted that employees in the administration will be wearing turtlenecks instead of ties to stay warmer - a publicity attempt at getting the French to save up on heating... it's going to be a cold winter.

French President Emmanuel Macron made a video message wearing a black turtle neck.

Le Maire and Macron weren't the only two. Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne showed up in a meeting wearing the same attire.

Proposing a new energy program for France, Macron's program entails the need to reduce electricity consumption by 10% by 2024 to avoid shortages in the winter. Paris has also ushered companies to submit their grand plans on how they will be reducing consumption.

Public building and ministry heatings will also be reduced to save energy, toning it down to a maximum of 19 degrees Celsius.

FBI Won’t Provide Updates, Say Whether It Has Arrested Anyone Over Attacks on Pro-Life Organizations, Centers, Churches

The Federal Bureau of Investigation will not share whether it has made any arrests related to attacks on pro-life centers, organizations, and Catholic churches following the leak of the Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade.

At least 83 Catholic churches and 73 pregnancy resource centers or pro-life organizations have been attacked since the draft opinion was leaked in May. And some of these pro-life centers and organizations have told The Daily Signal that they have not heard anything from federal authorities.

The FBI confirmed this week to The Daily Signal that it is investigating “a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers, faith-based organizations, and reproductive health clinics across the country, as well as to judicial buildings, including the U.S. Supreme Court.”

“The incidents are being investigated as potential acts of domestic violent extremism, FACE Act [Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act] violations, or violent crime matters, depending on the facts of each case,” the statement said. “The FBI takes all violence and threats of violence very seriously and we are working closely with our law enforcement partners at the national, state, and local levels to investigate these incidents.”

This statement is almost identical to one that the FBI gave The Daily Wire in mid-June, four months ago, as attacks on pregnancy centers escalated. The militant abortion group Jane’s Revenge has claimed responsibility for many of these attacks and threatened more if pro-life work does not cease. The FBI would not specifically comment on Jane’s Revenge to The Daily Wire in June, and it is unclear how organized this group is.

“It’s open season, and we know where your operations are,” Jane’s Revenge warned over the summer.

When The Daily Signal pressed the FBI for more information this week, referencing the recent arrest of a Catholic, pro-life activist, national press officer Christina Pullen repeatedly said the FBI does “not have any information to add” to its old statement. She also would not say whether the FBI has made any arrests related to these attacks and threats.

The Daily Signal also asked the FBI to address precisely how many attacks and threats it is investigating that specifically targeted pregnancy resource centers, as well as how many attacks and threats it is investigating that specifically targeted faith-based institutions, and how many attacks and threats it is investigating that specifically targeted abortion clinics.

The FBI would not address these questions. The bureau’s refusal to provide more information on the matter is particularly notable in light of the FBI’s dramatic arrest of Mark Houck, a Catholic father who allegedly pushed a pro-abortion activist for allegedly harassing his son while they were praying outside an abortion clinic.

This arrest might fall under the FBI’s reference to attacks and threats on reproductive health clinics, but the bureau would not comment on Houck to The Daily Signal.

Meanwhile, pro-life centers and organizations that were attacked over the summer in the fallout of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization leak, like Concerned Women for America, tell The Daily Signal that they have not heard from the FBI. The organization’s office was vandalized by a man who reportedly ripped up its security system, flipped off its camera, and urinated on the door (prompting the group to file a hate crime report with the FBI).

“We know that President [Joe] Biden specifically singled out abortion clinics for protection from the federal government, but we have not heard the Biden administration say one word about supporting pregnancy care centers,” Concerned Women for America President Penny Nance said in a phone interview.

“I agree that it’s domestic terrorism that is impacting these pregnancy care centers, but I don’t have any suggestion from any of them or any of our own experience in which the FBI came to our defense,” she added...

US Army Releases New and Insane Strategic Plan to ‘Mitigate the Key Effects of Climate Change’

The Army on Wednesday released its new plan describing how it intends to combat climate change built around trying to survive increasingly extreme weather while limiting the service's contribution to the problem.

While the plan offers ways to reduce climate change, it does so without directly acknowledging the military's hand in exacerbating the problem as one of the largest industry emitters of greenhouse gases in the world.

As the Pentagon pushes through what many experts describe as likely irreversible impacts to the planet resulting from emissions, the service's plan is founded on one very Army word: mitigation.

The 50-page plan, which is an extension of the service's overall Army Climate Strategy released earlier this year, offers a series of ambitious goals to meet Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin's 2021 call to "immediately take appropriate policy actions to prioritize climate change considerations" as the Pentagon points to several instances of climate change-related events that have affected the services.

"Dangerous levels of greenhouse gases (GHG) have already accumulated in the Earth's atmosphere," the Climate Strategy Implementation Plan said. "While the Army cannot address all or even most GHG emissions, the right initiatives, investments, and policies can significantly reduce Army GHG emissions while at the same time enhancing readiness."

"In climate change terms, this is known as 'mitigation,'" it continued.

One area where climate change is causing challenges for the Army is by creating increasingly extreme weather.

"The effects of extreme weather exacerbated by climate change have already had profound impacts on the DOD," a Pentagon press release said Monday, going on to describe damages to military installations as a result of extreme weather and rising sea levels.

In 2018, Hurricane Michael demolished at least half of the structures on Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida, costing $5 billion to fix, according to the release, one example of the potential impact of extreme weather on military facilities.

The increase in extreme weather will also put a strain on the National Guard's disaster response abilities, the Pentagon said, as the country watched Guardsmen rescue people from extreme weather in Kentucky and Florida recently.

The Army also included an ominous warning about the broader risks that climate change poses for the military.

"Indeed, climate change has been described as a 'threat multiplier,'" the plan said. "Extreme drought and flooding will displace individuals and communities, increasing the potential for human conflict and the demand for Army humanitarian relief and disaster response at home and abroad."

"For the foreseeable future, climate impacts will disrupt Army activities and increase the frequency of crisis deployments," the plan added.

But in trying to explain the impact and countermeasures the military will take, the services have generally been reticent to address the scale of military emissions.

As of 2019, the military has released over 1,000 million metric tons of greenhouse gases since 2001, according to a study from Brown University's Watson Institute.

The Center for Secure and Modern Elections represents itself as a bipartisan organization, but is funded primarily by left-of-center donors. [3] Its parent organization, the New Venture Fund, is part of a $731 million nonprofit network run by the consulting firm Arabella Advisors in Washington, DC. The New Venture Fund has been criticized by the New York Times for its “system of political financing, which often obscures the identities of donors,” as “dark money,” calling the network “a leading vehicle for it on the Left.” [4] Right-leaning critics have called it a major “dark money outfit” that serves as a way for left-leaning groups to anonymously funnel money toward various advocacy issues. [5]

The Center for Secure and Modern Elections primarily engages in advocacy and lobbying for “automatic voter registration” (AVR) laws that would automatically register eligible individuals to vote when they acquire or renew a driver’s license, apply for social services, or otherwise interact with a state government agency. The Center for Secure and Modern Elections has also opposed legislation intended to reduce voter fraud in Texas. [6]

CSME is closely connected with another left-of-center elections advocacy group, the Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL), which was criticized by liberal and conservative commentators for distributing $350 million in grants from billionaire Mark Zuckerberg to hundreds of county and city elections offices in the months leading up to the 2020 election. [7] [8] Critics allege that CTCL’s private funding of elections aided Democratic presidential nominee Joseph Biden in defeating incumbent President Donald Trump, largely by targeting key Democratic cities in swing states critical to the election outcome. [9]

Both CTCL and New Venture Fund (in its capacity as the parent organization of CSME) were sued by the Louisiana Attorney General in October 2020 for unlawfully interfering in the state’s 2020 election, “to prevent the injection of unregulated private money into the Louisiana election system,” identifying 13 parishes which were targeted for CTCL grants exceeding $500,000 per parish. [10] A state judge ruled against the state on October 26, 2020, on the grounds that the Attorney General’s office had “no cause of action” for the lawsuit. [11]

When questioned on Thursday about Russia's plan B to identify the cause behind the Nord Stream terrorist attacks in case the investigation goes awry, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin asserted that his country is "considering all options."

A day before, Vershinin stated that Moscow maintains its stance on conducting an international probe into the recent explosions that targeted the Nord Stream gas pipelines, adding that it was critical for both Russia and Germany to be involved in the process.

On September 26, three pipelines in the Nord Stream network that runs under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany recorded a rapid gas pressure drop and leakage, and three days later, the Swedish Coast Guard declared a fourth gas leak on the damaged pipelines. Sweden, Germany, and Denmark have announced their beliefs that the incidents are the works of sabotage, but the Russian Prosecutor General's Office has labeled the pipeline incidents as acts of international terrorism.

The pipeline operator, Nord Stream AG, said that giving an estimated timeframe for the repair would be impossible.

Russia exclusion puts the credibility of EU probe at risk: Expert

"Russia must be involved in the investigation, as its main energy company, Gazprom, is co-owner of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 installations. Without Russia, the conclusions would not have any validity," Samuele Furfari, professor of the geopolitics of energy at Brussels university ULB, told Sputnik.

This comes after Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said at a UN Security Council meeting on October 1 that Russia "will certainly establish all those involved in this act of sabotage. Any international investigation into what happened can claim impartiality only if Russia takes part in it."

In the same context, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov expressed Russia's concern on Wednesday regarding the recent news conferences in Sweden and Denmark as they suggested Russia's exclusion from the Nord Stream probe. Peskov rejected Western accusations of Russia being the perpetrator as "absurd", while President Vladimir Putin pointed at the US and the UK as the possible culprits.

Furfari suggested that the UK being a powerful ally of Germany and the prime beneficiary of cheap Russian gas might have done the damage to prevent Russia from tempting Germany into reopening the taps during the upcoming winter.

"Europe is still faced with the stressing problem of replacing 170 billion cubic meters of gas that Russia was delivering through Nord Stream 1. And the EU still does not know how it could be replaced immediately. It would take years to build the ships to transport LNG and the LNG terminals to replace Russian gas," Furfari concluded.

Eugene Yu, the CEO of the U.S. election software company Konnech, was arrested yesterday in connection to the storage of election data on Chinese servers.

He was arrested in Michigan by investigators from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office with assistance from the Meridian Township Police Department.

Investigators allegedly found U.S. poll workers’ information stored on servers in the People’s Republic of China.

The day before Yu’s arrest, the New York Times’ Stuart Thompson published an article entitled, “How a Tiny Elections Company Became a Conspiracy Theory Target.”

Thompson, who covers “misinformation and disinformation,” wrote about how “far-right election deniers” concocted an elaborate “conspiracy theory” that Konnech “had secret ties to the Chinese Communist Party and had given the Chinese government backdoor access to personal data.”

Near the end of the article, he dedicated a few sentences to Eugene Yu’s Chinese company, “Jinhua Yulian Network Technology, a subsidiary out of China, where programmers developed and tested software.”

“Konnech closed the subsidiary in 2021 and no longer has employees in China,” he concluded.

Contrary to the New York Times reporter’s lack of curiosity, I found it extremely concerning that Eugene Yu, also known as Jianwei Yu (于建伟), established a Chinese R&D subsidiary in Zhejiang, China, on November 29, 2005.

So I spent the last six weeks meticulously documenting everything that I could find about Jinhua Yulian Network Technology (金华宇联网络科技有限公司) in a series of articles.

Supporters of journalist Julian Assange and freedom of the press are holding international protests on October 8th. The founder of Wikileaks is set to be extradited to the United States. Advocates for Assange say his conviction in an American courtroom would mean the death of the free press.

HandsOffAssange.com lists over a dozen worldwide events. In London, activists, led by Julian’s wife Stella Assange, will form a human chain around parliament. Assange is currently being held in a British maximum security prison pending extradition.

However, some analysts believe the charges against Assange are merely an effort to keep the prolific publisher behind bars. The White House is hoping to convict Assange for releasing documents proving war crimes and other corruption by the Washington government. Protesters in DC will hear from a long list of speakers at the Department of Justice. The speakers come from a wide variety of political ideas, showing cross-spectrum support for Assange and free press.

Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, Dave DeCamp from Antiwar.com, Kevin Gosztola from Shadowproof.com, CIA whistleblower John Kiriakou, Dan Cohen from Mintpress News, Garland Nixon, Chris Hedges, Joe Lauria of Consortium News, human trafficking survivor advocate Eliza Bleu, investigative reporter James Bovard, Jil Stein, and Spike Cohen are among the speakers. Organizer Misty Winston says the protesters will tell Washington that “journalism is not a crime.”

“What’s happening to Julian Assange is happening to all of us. It’s the criminalization of truth. These rallies are about bringing people together from across the political spectrum and around the globe to make it clear. The world is watching and the tide is turning. Journalism is not a crime,” Winston said in a statement to The Institute.

Other American cities hosting events include Seattle, Denver, Tulsa, Minneapolis and Seattle. In Mexico City, protesters will gather at the US embassy. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has offered Assange asylum.

FBI Team Involved In Censorship Of Hunter Biden Laptop Story Identified

Meta, Facebook’s parent company, identified the team as the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF), according to an updated complaint entered late on Oct. 6.

Meta named the team after receiving a subpoena in a case alleging the federal government pressured Big Tech firms to censor users.

“Pursuant to the third-party subpoena, Meta has identified the FBI’s FITF, as supervised by Laura Dehmlow, and Elvis Chan as involved in the communications between the FBI and Meta that led to Facebook’s suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story,” the updated complaint states.

Mark Zuckberg, Meta’s CEO, said in August that Facebook reduced the reach of posts about Hunter Biden’s laptop in response to advice from the FBI.

“The background here is the FBI I think basically came to some folks on our team [and] were like, ‘Hey, just so you know, you should be on high alert. We thought that there was a lot of Russian propaganda in the 2016 election, we have it on notice that basically there’s about to be some kind of dump similar to that, so just be vigilant,'” Zuckerberg said on Joe Rogan’s podcast. He made similar comments before the Senate in 2020.

“One of the threats that the FBI has alerted our company and the public to was the possibility of a hack and leak operation in the days or weeks leading up to this election,” Zuckerberg said then. Those alerts “suggested we be on high alert and sensitivity if a trove of documents appeared that we should view that with suspicion that it might be part of a foreign manipulation attempt,” he added.

The FBI did not respond to a request for comment on the updated lawsuit, which now names the FBI as a defendant. The bureau said previously that it is routinely in touch with U.S. companies but “cannot ask, or direct, companies to take action on information received.”

The FITF was established by FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2017 “to identify and counteract malign foreign influence operations targeting the United States,” according to the bureau’s website. Such operations include covert actions by outside governments aimed at influencing the American political scene or discourse, the bureau has said.

Laura Dehmlow is a supervisor of FITF. She has been named as a defendant in the case along with Elvis Chan, a special agent who manages the cyber branch at the FBI’s San Francisco Field Office.

China Started Stockpiling PPE, Reducing Exports of PPE to US in Late 2019 Before Pandemic

New reports reveal Communist China was stockpiling personal protective equipment and reducing exports to the United States just months before the COVID pandemic was announced. The Communist Chinese were also purchasing PPE stocks in Europe, Australia and the US around that same time.

Then in early 2020 the Wuhan Virus was released on the world.

The new discoveries no doubt give credence to the theory that the COVID virus was created in a laboratory in China and supported by funding from Tony Fauci and the NIH.

The Gateway Pundit first reported that COVID was being researched and developed in China in Wuhan in April 2020. We even determined in April 2020 that China was experimenting with live mice.

Chinese Doctor Shi Zhengli was part of a team working on a coronavirus project jointly with US doctors in 2014 before it was shut down by the DHS for being too risky. Dr. Shi Zhengli then moved to Wuhan, China.

Doctor Shi Zhengli worked with Doctor Ralph S. Baric, and together with others, they published an article in a 2015 edition of Nature Medicine. In the article they discussed bat coronaviruses that showed potential for human emergence. The article was published in 2015.

This report was published shortly after their project was defunded by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The HHS in 2014 sent a letter to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where they announced they were going to defund the program.

Dr. Ralph S. Baric was identified in the letter.

After the work stopped in the US, the Chinese moved forward with the project and ran research and development in Wuhan. From Shi Zhengli’s papers and resume, it is clear that they successfully isolated the virus in the lab and were actively experimenting with specie <-> specie transmission.

It’s also important to note that back in 2017 we had solid intelligence about a viral leak in a high security Chinese virology R&D center that resulted in the SARS virus getting out and killing people.

This information provides a basis that contradicts the theory that COVID-19 is a variant that just magically mutated in a bat in the wild and then jumped to a human when they ate a delicious bowl of bat soup.

This was all a lie.

Now we have proof that China was stockpiling PPE before the outbreak.

China began severely restricting the export of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gowns and masks, months before notifying the world of the outbreak of Covid-19, it has emerged.

PPE exports to the US fell by around 50 per cent between August and September of 2019, in a significant drop which raised alarm bells at key US government agencies.

China also started to buy up global PPE stocks in Europe, Australia and the US around the same time, experts said.

The fall in PPE supplies exiting China, the world’s biggest manufacturer of PPE, raises new questions about the true timeline of the emergence of SARS-CoV-2.

Former White House national security adviser John Bolton is now taking to the networks to call for Russian President Vladimir Putin's assassination. "I think we should make it clear publicly so that not just Putin but that all the top Russian leadership... that if Putin authorizes the use of a nuclear weapon he's signing his own suicide note," the well-known neocon hawk said to CBS in a Friday appearance.

Describing that Putin is head of command and control for all Russian - including nuclear - forces, Bolton continued by stating what he says should be official US policy: "He's a legitimate military target... he needs to know that he's on our target list at this point." Bolton essentially called for the US to assassinate the Russian leader if the opportunity ever arises.

Bolton went on the discuss an op-ed he penned days prior in the online military journal 1945 wherein effecting regime change in Russia was the focus.

"There is no long-term prospect for peace and security in Europe without regime change in Russia. Russians are already discussing it, quietly, for obvious reasons. For the United States and others pretending that the issue is not before will do far more harm than good," Bolton spelled out in that op-ed.

"To avoid the war simply grinding along indefinitely, we must alter today’s calculus. Carefully assisting Russian dissidents to pursue regime change might just be the answer, he continued. "Russia is, obviously, a nuclear power, but that is no more an argument against seeking regime change than against assisting Ukrainian self-defense."

Bolton advocated a color revolution-style overthrow, or efforts to fragment the government from the inside, writing:

Actually effecting regime change is doubtless the hardest problem, but it does not require foreign military forces. The key is for Russians themselves to exacerbate divisions among those with real authority, the siloviki, the "men of power." Disagreements and animosities already exist, as in all authoritarian regimes, exploitable as dissidents set their minds to it. Boris Yeltsin standing on a tank outside the Russian White House in 1991 evidenced the fracturing of the Soviet ruling class. Once regime coherence and solidarity shatter, change is possible.

The former right hand woman to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, may be getting set to talk and that could mean a world of issues for some famous people.

“Bill Clinton should be sweating bullets,” reporter Kari Donavan said for The Republic Brief.

“It has long been suspected by court watchers that a notorious list of clientele for Epstein, allegedly including Clinton, would eventually emerge, and they may be right, according to investigators and lawyers who have followed the complex case.

“The shocking warning came out of a new documentary that investigated the role of Britain’s Prince Andrew and his close ties as a client of Epstein’s, when the comments were made that there could be further revelations about other clients of Epstein’s because his madame- Ghislaine Maxwell – who was recently convicted for crimes associated with Epstein has until June 2023 to cooperate with prosecutors, in possibly overturning more names,” she said.

In a new documentary, “Prince Andrew Banished,’ Florida-based attorney Spencer Kuvin, who represents some of Epstein’s victims, said that Maxwell has until 2023 to cooperate with authorities to get her free from jail quicker.

Kuvin told viewers in a new documentary that convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell still has the chance to come forward with new revelations in a possible effort to reduce her 20-year sentence.

Last December, Maxwell was convicted of five federal charges for recruiting and grooming teenage girls to be sexually abused by Epstein.

She found out her prison fate in June and now has until 2023 to further cooperate with prosecutors, noted Kuvin, adding that Maxwell said she intends to appeal her sentence.

“She is really the person who holds all the secrets,” he said in the documentary that is airing on Peacock. “This isn’t the end of the story.”

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence, has been moved to a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida, the Daily Mail first reported.

Maxwell will be eligible for release on July 17, 2037.

“The disgraced socialite has been moved to FCI Tallahassee, a low-security prison in the Sunshine State, near where she committed her crimes. The choice of prison by the BOP is against the recommendation of Judge Alison Nathan, who oversaw Maxwell’s trial for recruiting and trafficking underage girls for the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Judge Nathan asked the BOP – following a request from Maxwell’s lawyers – to send her to FCI Danbury in Connecticut,” the Daily Mail reported.

“However, the BOP has ultimate authority and decided against sending Maxwell there. Despite this Maxwell, 60, will likely welcome the news as she has complained bitterly about her treatment at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where she has been held since her arrest in July 2020,” the outlet added.

According to the prison handbook, Maxwell will be woken up at 6 am every day and be issued an inmate identification card that she must wear at all times.

Each period of the day is announced over the tannoy and includes exercise sessions and work periods. Staff may search inmates’ cells at any time for contraband or stolen property and each prison shares a cell with one other person.

The prison handbook says that the only approved uniform is: khaki pants, khaki shirt, underwear, bra, socks, and authorized shoes. A khaki dress is also permitted. Maxwell will be allowed to wear a plain wedding band, however, her marriage to former tech entrepreneur Scott Borgerson is over and they are thought to be in the process of divorcing.

Late last month, U.S. Circuit Judge Alison Nathan sentenced Maxwell to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking.

Thousands have marched through the Melbourne’s CBD calling for the release of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

The 51-year-old Australian has been in London’s Belmarsh prison since he was removed from the Ecuadorian embassy in 2019.

Assange is fighting a long-running legal battle to avoid extradition to the United States, where he is wanted for espionage offences.

Melbourne protesters marched through the city streets and formed a human chain across a Southbank bridge on Saturday morning as they called on the Australian government to intervene.

“There’s an expectation in the electorate that the Prime Minister and this government is going to get Julian out of jail,” Assange’s brother Gabriel Shipton told AAP.

Looking to Albanese

“The Prime Minister’s statements before the election – enough is enough, he doesn’t see what purpose is served by Julian being kept in prison – those were seen as a commitment.

“It’s been so many days of this government and Julian is still rotting in that prison.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese should contact the US president directly and plead Assange’s case, Mr Shipton said.

“They can pick up the phone, call Joe Biden and say, hasn’t Julian suffered enough? Drop the charges and extradition,” he said.

“Julian would walk free.”

In August, lawyers for Assange filed an appeal against his extradition to the US, arguing he is being prosecuted and punished for his political opinions.

Worldwide support

Assange was charged by the US with 17 counts of espionage and one charge of computer misuse after WikiLeaks published thousands of leaked military and diplomatic documents.

Melbourne’s demonstration against Assange’s detention was one of many being held across the world on Saturday.

It was heartening to see such global solidarity for Assange’s cause, Mr Shipton said.

“The movement is growing around the world as evidenced by these protests,” he said.

“We’re not going to stop. We are not going to be quiet.”

The Sassoon dynasty made a fortune from opium trading. Jenni Frazer met the professor who unravelled his family’s story

As a Baghdad teenager, Joseph Sassoon was “totally uninterested” in the family stories his father wanted to tell him. It’s all the more extraordinary then, that as a present-day economic historian, Professor Joseph Sassoon has produced a sweeping account of part of his remarkable family, once hailed as “The Rothschilds of the East”.

More usually based in Washington DC, where he is a professor at Georgetown University, he is the author of numerous books about the Middle East, and politics. But in 2012 he was at St Antony’s College, Oxford, working on a book about authoritarianism in the Arab world, when he received a letter from another Joseph Sassoon — styling himself “Joey”, and living in the West of Scotland.

The professor phoned his namesake, then visited him, and thought he “might as well” look at some archives in London. For this branch of the Sassoons had fled Baghdad for Bombay (modern day Mumbai) , during the 19th century, became rich and powerful through the opium trade, and ultimately moved to England, where some Sassoons became close friends with the Prince of Wales and occupied opulent homes in London and Brighton.

Interest piqued, Professor Sassoon heard that there was a Sassoon archive in Jerusalem at the National Library of Israel. “I called them and they said, it’s not digitised, so come and see it. I went and it really was an incredible moment, because I realised that they had 100 large boxes. I was overwhelmed, and the historian in me said, wow, this is truly a treasure trove”.

But it was a treasure trove waiting for the right key to open it. Because, as the professor explained, much of the material was written in the local dialect: “Baghdadi Jewish dialect written in Hebrew. So what you need to decipher it is to know Arabic very well, Hebrew very well — but you also need the specific dialogue of the Baghdadi Jews”. And who better to tackle it than Professor Sassoon, who had himself fled Baghdad, and who is fluent in Hebrew and Arabic and French, and also reads Persian?

He was plainly hooked. He continued writing his book on authoritarianism, but every summer and Christmas vacation, he went back to the National Library in Jerusalem and immersed himself in his family’s history, a wonderful work of scholarship which he began in 2016, travelling to India, China, and researching in archives in Istanbul, the UK, and even in Dallas, Texas.

“The more I read, the more I understood, this is an unbelievable story — and I can write it from the beginning to the end”. For the sad truth is that unlike the Rothschilds, to whom they were so frequently compared, the Sassoons did not stay rich and powerful and influential, or remain the companions of kings and princes. It’s not exactly, the professor says, rags to riches to rags in three generations. “It was more like riches — for the first Sassoon [in the dynasty] was the equivalent of a Minister of Finance, and reported to the Sultan — then rags when he left Baghdad for Bombay — followed by serious riches, and then severe decline”.

Merchant and Masonic Networks in Eighteenth-Century Colonial India

Freemasonry was brought to India by members of the British East India Company with the first Lodge established under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of England – No. 72 – consecrated in 1728 at Fort William, Calcutta, Bengal. The following year, 1729, Captain Ralph Farwinter was appointed Provisional Grand Master for East India. A Provincial Grand Lodge was established in Madras in 1752 and a Provincial Grand Lodge in Bombay in 1758.

Other countries and Masonic jurisdictions also established Lodges in India. Those under the Irish Constitution were the product of travelling regimental lodges. Scottish Constitution lodges appear at the beginning of the nineteenth century as a function of trade and the military. But at least three other constitutions were also present: Lodge Solomon was founded in 1758 at Tandelga, Bengal, under the Dutch Constitution by the Commander-of-the-Fleet of the Netherlands East India Company; a French Constitution lodge, Sincere Amité, was chartered at Pondicherry in 1787; and in 1807 Lodge de l’amour Fraternelle was founded at Tranquebar in Tamil Nadu with a warrant granted by the National Grand Lodge of Denmark.

The first recorded Indian freemason was a Muslim, Umdat-ul-Umara, the future Nawab of Arcot. He was initiated in 1775 in Lodge Perfect Unanimity, Madras, and after his initiation stated that he considered the title of an English Mason to be ‘at once a cement to the friendship between your nation and me and confirms me the friend of mankind’. He expanded on the sentiment in a letter to the Grand Master of England in 1778:

An early knowledge and participation of the benefits arising to our house from its intimate union of councils and interests with the British nation and a deep veneration for the laws, constitutions and manners of the latter, have for many years of my life led me to seize every opportunity of drawing the ties subsisting between us closer and closer. By the accounts which have reached me of the principles and practices of your Fraternity, nothing can be more pleasing to the Sovereign Ruler of the Universe, who we all, though in different ways, adore, or more honourable to His creatures, for they stand upon the broad basis of indiscriminate and universal benevolence. Under this conviction I have long wished to be admitted of your Fraternity; and now that I am initiated, I consider the title of an English Mason as one of the most honourable I possess.

India underwent substantial change under British rule, not all of which was beneficial. But freemasonry with its emphasis on fraternity and brotherly relief, and a symbolism that had parallels with Eastern faiths, attracted the interest of many educated Indians living in Bombay and Calcutta, in particular members of the Zoroastrian community.

By the 1840s a minority of British Freemasons were seeking to recruit Indians into the Craft, but they met resistance. In Bengal, for example, by-law 55 of the Provincial Grand Lodge prevented Indians from admission and it was not until 1872 that the first Hindu, a Bro. P. C. Dutt, was admitted to Lodge Anchor & Hope, and then only after nine years of blackballing and appeals. In Bombay, however, matters moved more positively and more rapidly with the consequence that, after some effort, Lodge Rising Star of Western India was formed in 1843 as the first Masonic lodge open to those not of European origin.

Lodge Rising Star of Western India was established following an application in 1840 by Maneckjee Cursetjee, a citizen of Bombay, to Lodge Perseverance, No. 546, then under the English Constitution. Following his rejection on grounds of race, Maneckjee petitioned the Duke of Sussex, the Grand Master of UGLE. The duke ruled that it was improper to discriminate and that Maneckjee should be admitted to freemasonry. Delighted at this pronouncement, Maneckjee sailed for London but when he arrived found that the duke was travelling in Europe. Not wishing to delay his initiation, Maneckjee left for Paris where under the patronage of the Duke of Caze, the Most Venerable of the Grand Orient of France, he was initiated in Lodge A La Gloria de l’Universe.

On his return to Bombay, Maneckjee was invited to visit but not to join Lodge Perseverance. He declined. He was then proposed as a joining member, but the proposal failed on the ballot. Frustrated by such racism, several members agreed to petition the Provincial Grand Master under the Scottish Constitution, Dr James Burnes, to create a new lodge that would admit both Europeans and non-Europeans.

'Nonprofit' LGBTQ+++© Foundations Now Write Public School Sex Ed Curricula

You may have noticed that public schools transformed at some indefinite point in the late 2010s from institutes of learning (although they never did that particularly well anyway) into outright LGBTQ+++© indoctrination day camps.

One of public schools’ primary functions these days, besides babysitting their youthful charges while their parents labor for their masters, is brainwashing children in their custody into religious fundamentalism — like the Pentecostal Jesus camps of yesteryear, just more sexual, predatory, and fantastical.

LGTBQ+++© social engineers would suggest, of course, that teachers somehow naturally morphed into sexual propagandists. A veritable army of queer Mary Poppinses sprung up out of nowhere to sing-song children out of their heterosexual bigotry and into the warm embrace of sacred sexual Diversity©.

Almost all at once, overnight, in concert (the social engineers would argue), teachers adorned their classrooms with Pride© flags. Libraries from coast to coast realized in unison that the one thing they’d been missing all this while was a friendly neighborhood drag queen to read sexual fantasy stories to children with their hairy junk hanging out.

Such is the inexorable flow of progress, of course.

The queerification of the public schools is all very natural and organic, they would claim, not to mention liberal and loving.

Mass protests against NATO and EU hit Paris streets (VIDEOS)

The demonstrations were sparked by what protesters called economic “disruption” and “energy and health restrictions”

A massive crowd of protesters marched through the center of the French capital on Saturday demanding that France radically change its stance on NATO and the EU.

The march was organized by the right-wing Les Patriotes (The Patriots) party led by Florian Philippot, the former deputy head of Marine Le Pen’s National Rally. Dubbed “the national meeting of resistance,” the rally attracted “thousands and thousands” of people, according to Philippot, who was also a member of the European Parliament between 2014 and 2019.

The demonstrators were holding a large banner reading ‘Resistance’ and smaller placards that read ‘Frexit’ – a reference to a demand that France leave the EU. Many protesters were also waving the national flag.

According to videos published by Philippot on social media, the crowd was chanting: “Let's get out of NATO!” They also demanded the ouster of French President Emmanuel Macron as they marched near the parliament building, the footage purports to show.

The protesters denounced NATO “warmongering,” as well as economic “disruption” and “energy and health restrictions,” linked to the sanctions the EU imposed on Russia over the conflict in Ukraine.

French officials have not commented on the rally and provided no official figures as to the number of demonstrators. The French media mostly ignored the event as well. According to the website of Les Patriotes, similar rallies were also held on September 3 and 17.

The unrest comes as France increasingly struggles to cope with the ongoing energy crunch, a major cause of which is the EU’s sanctions policy. Last month, the head of the French energy regulator CRE warned that private households could face power outages this winter if there are severe cold spells.

Le Pen also warned that the nation should brace for a tough winter. The right-wing politician told BFMTV that the sanctions on Russia were not working and were harming the French people instead.

As I take this course I will provide comments for any and all that land here. I’d like to note that I have no illusions that these words are eagerly awaited by anyone at Hillsdale College, in my life, on this website, or indeed, beyond the chair in which I sit. Nevertheless, it is my understanding that people sometimes accidentally find things on the internet, and even just right here locally, I am aware of one for whom reading a set of random words would be a considerably better than average experience.

The free online Hillsdale College Constitution 101 course is available here for thrill-seekers who wish to participate.

The class overview summary reads:

The Constitution established a limited government, but a government with sufficient powers to protect Americans’ God-given rights to ‘Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.’ This course examines the design and purpose of the Constitution, the challenges it faced during the Civil War, how it has been undermined for over a century by progressivism and post-1960s liberalism, and how limited government under the Constitution might be revived.

This virtue signaling / intentionally transparent language may be a just and wise candle-in-the-dark amid the distortion caused by deception, political agenda, bias, propaganda, corruption, and imposters, or indeed might help to connect Hillsdale with the demographic of clientele that it seeks. My fear is that the choice reduces virality. By this I mean that I do not view it as a successful proposition to use an invitation to Hillsdale’s course as a means of encouraging furtherance of Constitutional understanding among those acquaintances whom I’d consider… most in need of it.

How many are repelled who, until reading that overview, were looking for what they perceive to be a more ‘balanced’ survey? And what would my hedonist friends say about what they would call, ‘all that God stuff?’ Having that language on the landing page for the course – where many are looking for a reason to click away – causes retention of that subsection of viewers who either are comfortable with that and the ‘progressivism and post-1960s liberalism’ bit, those who take note of it and proceed skeptically, or those who do not see it at all.

But perhaps I’ve got it all wrong. Hillsdale is a Christian Conservative college, so why fuck around? I could just as easily be spending my time criticizing FBI / CNN / CDC / DNC etc for driving off sane people with their overt behavior and covert signaling — or myself for failing to coddle the delicate sensibilities of the considerable number for whom my full name induces indigestion.

I do believe that each purveyor should choose their own boundaries of exclusionism — but still I wonder if I am justified in hoping this one — whom I know brings authentic scholarship and honest thoughtfulness — will be fit for widespread use. Either way, I will concede it is a certainty that Arnn’s leadership, vision, and facilitation of this popular and accessible educational historical series is more likely to sustain freedom for civilized man than my stupid opinion about it.

Biology Teacher Reinstated After Refusing To Use Trans Student Pronouns

A biology teacher who was suspended last week after refusing to use transgender students' preferred pronouns was reinstated after over 400 people showed up at the school's auditorium last Wednesday - most of whom were there to support the educator.

Biology and anatomy teacher Daren Cusato was suspended by officials at South Side Area School District in rural Beaver County, PA, despite citing religious beliefs for his refusal use the trans students' pronouns.

"My uncle Daren is standing up for what is right, even though he is standing by himself. I am thoroughly embarrassed that South Side School District has taken this arbitrary stance in choosing to align with the one percent," said Cusato's niece - one of 40 people who spoke at the meeting, most in support of his reinstatement.

"I am standing up here tonight to ask you to separate these two things: the very divisive but trendy topic of pronouns and the precedent that you are setting, which is that teachers need to modify their engagement of students based on how that student feels," said another.

One speaker slammed the district for acting out of fear of "getting sued," according to WPXI.

"We shouldn’t be afraid of being sued. Fine. If you want to sue us, sue us. Let’s take it to the Supreme Court. Let’s take it all the way," she said.

Others argued in favor of the school - with one woman insisting that "Transgender students have a right to be identified by their chosen name, their pronouns. School staff must use that name."

"If we allow a teacher, particularly one with a highly-regarded reputation, to model that these children don’t deserve acknowledgement of who they are, then the children we are trying to protect are in even greater danger," said another trans-defender.

After Cusato's reinstatement, the district announced plans to rewrite a new policy on the subject at a future meeting.

Australian adults can now get Moderna's Omicron COVID-19 booster. Here's what we know

The first combination COVID booster has now been introduced to Australia's vaccine program, with Moderna's Omicron shot officially entering the rollout from today, according to the Department of Health and Aged Care.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) last month recommended the shot, comprising of vaccines against the original SARS-CoV-2 virus and the BA.1 Omicron subvariant, be administered as a booster to adults.

Combination boosters have also been rolled out elsewhere, such as the UK, Switzerland, Canada, EU and US, with the US rolling out a booster tailored to BA.4 and BA.5 rather than BA.1.
