Trump to Launch ‘Non-Woke’ Streaming Service Featuring ‘Canceled Shows’

Former President Donald Trump’s media company is planning on launching a new streaming service featuring “non-woke content.”

According to a May 16 filing by Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the former president’s media company plans to launch a subscription-based streaming service called “TMTG+” that features “non-woke” content, aims to “cancel ‘cancel culture,’” and commits to not censoring content creators for their political ideology.

“TMTG believes that there is a need for quality programming that does not lecture its viewers or only presents one ‘acceptable’ approach on a topic. Entertainers, comedians, and creators have frequently been agents for change in our society. As the large media conglomerates become increasingly monolithic in their views, they cancel those who disagree, and voices are silenced,” the filing stated.

Programming, the filing said, will be “similar” to Netflix, and will feature “blue collar comedy, canceled shows, Trump-specific programming, faith-based shows, family entertainment, shows that embrace the Second Amendment, and news.”

The document did not indicate a launch date for the platform.

The plans for TMTG+ come as an expansion to TMTG’s social media platform launched in the first quarter of 2022, Truth Social. The streaming platform is one of TMTG’s growth strategies for becoming a “fully integrated” media and technology company” to “rival the liberal media consortium and promote free expression on all issues,” according to the filing.

TMTG+ will also feature a podcast platform as a part of its streaming service.

“Whether it be Hollywood, news media, search engines, payment processing. These are all areas that I think that people could get canceled. Americans could get canceled if you don’t pay homage to the proper woke God. Those are the things that we’re going to fight against,” Devin Nunes, CEO of Truth Social and former Republican Congressman, told Epoch TV’s “American Thought Leaders” program in an interview earlier this year.

“We’re probably the last best chance at this point to establish that beachhead, to give people their voice back,” Nunes said.

A New Hampshire man convicted of killing his wife’s co-worker and forcing her to behead him was has been sentenced to life in prison plus 45 years

ByHolly Ramer Associated Press

May 27, 2022, 3:56 PM

CONCORD, N.H. – A New Hampshire man convicted of killing his wife’s co-worker and forcing her to behead him was sentenced Friday to life in prison, plus 45 years.

Armando Barron, 32, was convicted Thursday of first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory sentence of life without parole. A judge imposed additional time as recommended by prosecutors for other crimes, including kidnapping, criminal solicitation and assault.

“Your actions were brutal. They were also horrific, they were selfish, and they were completely senseless,” Judge Elizabeth Leonard told Barron. “The abject cruelty, the pain and suffering and all that you inflicted on Jonathan that night is unfathomable.”

Barron was accused of assaulting his wife after discovering she had been texting with her co-worker, 25-year-old Jonathan Amerault, in September 2020. Prosecutors said he used his wife’s cellphone to lure Amerault to a park, where he beat and kicked him before forcing him into his own car and fatally shooting him.

Barron's lawyers argued that his wife shot Amerault, which she denied.

Britany Barron, 33, testified that after Amerault was shot, she was forced to drive the car 200 miles (320 kilometers) north to a remote campsite, with Armando following behind her. There, she said, she was forced to behead Amerault. Her husband eventually left her at the site, telling her to dispose of the body, she testified.

Their voices shaking with anger and sadness, Amerault’s parents both called Barron a disgusting leech Friday.

“The only good thing I see about all this heinous, heinous crime is that you are not 40 years old, 50 or 60, but only 30 years old. You have a long, long time to fade away and rot in prison,” Kenny Amerault said.

“My son Jonathan was a thousand times more of a man than this lowlife could ever even dream of being,” Justine Amerault said. “The loss of Jonathan to this world is incredibly sad.

"But the saddest part of all is that in spite of him being surrounded by so many wonderful people, this evil creature just slithered right through us all and took him from us. And the last hours of Jonathan’s beautiful life were in the company of this ugly, hideous, demented creature.”

Barron, who did not speak at the sentencing hearing, plans to appeal his convictions, his lawyer said.

The Associated Press had previously not been naming the couple in order not to identify Britany Barron, who said she suffered extreme abuse. Through her lawyer, she recently agreed to the use of her name.

MISSION, Texas (Border Report) — The FBI late Wednesday was conducting an investigation at the Laredo home of Democratic U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, Border Report has confirmed.

In an email to Border Report, FBI spokeswoman Rosanne Hughes wrote: “The FBI was present in the vicinity of Windridge Drive and Estate Drive in Laredo conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity. The FBI cannot provide further comment on an ongoing investigation.”

Cuellar’s office told Border Report late Wednesday that the congressman will fully cooperate in any investigation.

“Congressman Cuellar will fully cooperate in any investigation. He is committed to ensuring that justice and the law are upheld,” his office said in a statement.

Texas lawmakers allege 2020 Census ‘undercount’ of border, demand Bureau meeting

The Monitor newspaper published photos that showed agents in and around Cuellar’s house and said the agents were taking photos.

Cuellar is vice chairman of the House Homeland Security Appropriations Committee, arguably the most powerful lawmaker on the South Texas border.

He is currently serving his ninth term in Congress representing Texas’ 28th Congressional District, which spans from Laredo to San Antonio and Mission, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley.

He is expected to face a stiff challenge during primary elections from Democratic hopeful Jessica Cisneros, an immigration lawyer who once interned in Cuellar’s office. Cuellar defeated Cisneros in 2020, however, she has galvanized support from many organizations throughout South Texas.

FBI activity underway near Rep. Cuellar’s home in Laredo

The FBI is conducting what it described as “court-authorized” law enforcement activity at the Laredo home of U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar.

U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar

Although FBI spokesperson Roseanne Hughes did not identify what the agency is investigating, she did issue a statement acknowledging the activity.

Asked for a statement about the FBI’s presence at Cuellar’s home, Hughes confirmed law enforcement activity in the area.

“The FBI was present in the vicinity of Windridge Drive and Estate Drive in Laredo conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity,” the statement read. “The FBI cannot provide further comment on an ongoing investigation.”

At Cuellar’s home, located in the 8200 block of Estate Drive, federal vehicles were seen with cases and other items taken from the congressman’s home as over a dozen agents filed in and out of the residence Wednesday afternoon.

Calls made to Cuellar and his office seeking comment have not been immediately returned.

It was unclear if anyone was at home during the time the FBI was present, but the dogs in the backyard wagged their tails and barked at the occasional neighbor lingering too long near the sidewalk.

Speculation formed surrounding the presence of the federal agents.

“Was it a terroristic threat?” one neighbor in a truck asked another man standing on his driveway as he drove by. Another woman approached the same neighbor and said she saw them looking through files as she drove by.

A silent parade of onlookers drove slowly by the neighborhood, some stuck their phones out their windows like the driver of a white SUV, a sticker showing her support for one of Cuellar’s challengers clung to the rear window.

Agents worked into the night.

Shrugs and questions abound on the streets of Laredo, the congressman’s home, and on social media.

In a statement Wednesday night, the congressman’s office attributed the following to Cuellar: “Congressman Cuellar will fully cooperate in any investigation. He is committed to ensuring that justice and the law are upheld.”

This is a developing story.

Hunter Biden Laptop Hoaxer Michael Chertoff, Tapped To Assess Plagued ‘Disinformation Board’

Former Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff, who waved off Clinton’s lies in 2016, is directing the review of Biden’s ‘disinformation board.’

After the Biden administration’s proposal of a dystopian “disinformation board” met with mockery and horror from First Amendment lovers, the Department of Homeland Security announced last week that its brainchild will now go through a “review” for up to 75 days. Directing the assessment along with former Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick is former Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, who has a detailed history of falling for or waving away security risks or political hoaxes.

Chertoff, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, was asked by NPR how he could reconcile supporting Clinton with his knowledge of her mishandling of secret emails, and essentially said that it didn’t matter in terms of national security.

“The ability to spend an inordinate amount of time chasing small peccadilloes is a luxury we only have in a world at peace,” he said. “In a world at war, you’ve got to focus on the top priority which is protecting the United States and protecting our friends and allies.”

If mishandling of classified information didn’t strike Chertoff as a red flag, neither did the Clinton campaign’s instigation of the Russia collusion hoax against then-presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2016. Although Clinton’s role in the hoax has long laid unaddressed under the nation’s nose, Clinton’s former campaign manager just named his boss responsible. Robby Mook testified last week in the trial of Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann that Clinton approved the plan to implicate Trump in Russian collusion.

So the man tapped to help assess the Orwellian “disinformation board” endorsed the very woman who helped plant an incredibly damaging hoax aimed at undermining her opponent in the 2016 election. Not only that, Chertoff also cast doubt on reporting about Hunter Biden’s laptop right before the 2020 election, calling the idea that Biden abandoned the laptop at a repair shop “preposterous” and blaming the Russians.

The board was put on pause on the same day Nina Jankowicz, the Christopher Steele fangirl who was tapped to lead it, stepped down. Its creation roused fierce criticism in late April with Twitter posts likening it to an Orwellian Ministry of Truth and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis calling it a “belated April Fool’s joke.”

Jankowicz herself fueled the outrage by a ridiculous TikTok video she released in February 2021 in which she outlined the alleged dangers of disinformation to the tune of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” This magnum opus led to skeptics fondly dubbing her “Scary Poppins.”

The Biden administration and its media cheerleaders have blamed the board’s rough rollout on yet another “disinformation” campaign against the proposed new office. As one reporter put it at a White House press briefing earlier this month, “So if it’s pausing because you think the board was mischaracterized, then the disinformation board is being shut down because of disinformation?”

Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stammered with her response and didn’t answer the question. The board’s purpose, she insisted, is to monitor “bad actors — including human smugglers, transnational criminal organization, and foreign adversaries — [who] could use disinformation to advance their goals.”

Ominously, that list of “bad actors” is not exhaustive. As the Biden administration has proved by targeting concerned parents at school board meetings as “domestic terrorists,” anyone who challenges the administration’s political agenda is a potential target for the board’s war on free speech.

So Potus has raly in Florence AZ and then another one in Florence SC.

Then this Cuellar FBI raid dig winds up at El Chapo who is in Florence prison.

> The former president of Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, took a $100 million bribe from Joaquín Guzmán Loera, the infamous crime lord known as El Chapo, according to a witness at Mr. Guzman’s trial.

I mean it's Colorado, I think, but it's still Florence.

The stunning testimony was delivered in a New York courtroom by Alex Cifuentes Villa, a Colombian drug lord who worked closely with Mr. Guzmán from 2007 to 2013, when the kingpin was hiding from the law at a series of remote ranches in the Sierra Madre mountains.

According to Mr. Cifuentes, Mr. Peña Nieto first reached out to Mr. Guzmán about the time he was elected president in late 2012, asking the drug lord for $250 million in exchange for calling off a nationwide manhunt for him.

Moreover, the bribe accusation against Nieto as related in court was both unproved and somewhat far-fetched:

“Did members of the [Nieto] administration take bribes?” says Alejandro Hope, a Mexican security analyst and columnist at the El Universal newspaper. “Yeah maybe. But at the end of the day Guzmán was captured twice, then extradited. So if he did make those bribes they were a very poor investment.”

Taking handouts from business has become almost expected, especially among members of Peña Nieto’s PRI party, which ruled Mexico for 71 years. Taking a briefcase of cash from the world’s most sought-after drug lord, though, is a brazen, idiotic move, Hope says. You would think someone in that position could at least transfer it through shell companies in the Cayman Islands.

Finally, O’Rourke did not run a “$70 million open borders campaign.” His position on immigration has been to oppose the construction of a border-long wall (of the type U.S. President Donald Trump has called for) as an unnecessary and ineffective measure for improving border security, but not to advocate for “open borders”:

Q: Would you accept some compromises here if you want to make changes, including, for instance, funding the president’s border wall?

A: I think this one is going to be on the American people. And I think, when we make the choice clear that we can do the right thing by this country and for those kids, and not do it at the price of a 2,000-mile, 30-foot-high, $30 billion wall; not doing it at the price of deporting people who are seeking asylum, deporting people in some cases back to certain death; not doing it at the cost of ending family migration, which is the story of this country — certainly of the O’Rourkes — and millions of families who have fled terror or starvation in their countries to be here. I think the American people are going to force us to do the right thing. That always happens in America. It is frustrating. It’s slow. It doesn’t happen right away. But, ultimately, we get it right. And I’m confident that the American people this time are going to get it right.

Nieto left office in December 2018, and El Chapo was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years by a U.S. court in July 2019 and is currently serving his sentenceat ADX Florence.

Pope snubs bishop feuding with Pelosi, promotes lower-ranking one who defends pro-choice politicians

McElroy previously warned against denying the sacrament to pro-choice politicians

Pope Francis on Sunday announced the promotion of San Diego Bishop Robert McElroy to cardinal, passing over the higher-ranked San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, who said earlier this month that he would bar House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) from receiving communion due to her political stance on abortion.

By naming McElroy as one of 21 new cardinals on Sunday, Pope Francis seemingly passed over the more senior-ranked Cardileone, Fox News reported.

When U.S. bishops were debating whether to change their policy on communion in 2021, McElroy warned against denying the sacrament to pro-choice politicians.

"The Eucharist is being weaponized and deployed as a tool in political warfare. This must not happen," the San Diego bishop wrote in May of last year for America, a Jesuit magazine.

"The proposal to exclude pro-choice Catholic political leaders from the Eucharist is the wrong step," he said. "It will bring tremendously destructive consequences—not because of what it says about abortion, but because of what it says about the Eucharist."

Archbishop Cordileone congratulated McElroy on the promotion. He will be formally elevated to cardinal on Aug. 27 at St. Peter's Basicilica in Rome.

Cordileone wrote in a letter to Pelosi earlier this month: "[Y]ou are not to be admitted to Holy Communion, until such time as you publically repudiate your advocacy for the legitimacy of abortion and confess and receive absolution of this grave sin in the sacrament of Penance."

Pelosi fired back last week by calling out what she feels is a hypocritical stance on abortion and the death penalty within the Catholic Church.

Every Time Biden Drained Strategic Oil Reserves, Prices Ended Up Higher. Here’s The Proof

President Joe Biden has raided the Strategic Petroleum Reserve three times, but the actions have had minimal impact on oil and gasoline prices, data showed.

“Today, we’re launching a major effort to moderate the price of oil — an effort that will span the globe in its reach and, ultimately, reach your corner gas station, God willing,” Biden said on Nov. 23, 2021, after the first SPR release.

“The action I’m calling for will make a real difference over time,” the president remarked on March 31, 2022, after the third release.

Oil and gasoline prices increased after each of President Joe Biden’s three Strategic Petroleum Reserve releases which were designed to curb consumer costs.

Biden ordered a 50-million-barrel SPR release in November, a 30-million-barrel release on March 1 and a 180-million-barrel release on March 31, saying the “historic” actions would ease pressure felt by Americans at the pump. But marketplace and government data analyzed by The Daily Caller News Foundation paint a different picture.

On Tuesday, the average price of gasoline reached an all-time high of $4.59 per gallon, according to AAA data, while domestic oil prices remained above $110 a barrel, far higher than their 2015-2021 average of $53.15 per barrel and 2021 average of $68.14 a barrel, Federal Reserve data showed.

Release 1: Nov. 23, 2021

Oil price: $76.75 a barrel.

Gasoline price: $3.40 per gallon.

Biden ordered the DOE to accelerate the congressionally-mandated SPR release of 18 million barrels of oil and release an additional 32 million barrels on Nov. 23. The action was taken in conjunction with various nations including China, India, Japan, South Korea and the U.K.

“The bottom line: Today, we’re launching a major effort to moderate the price of oil — an effort that will span the globe in its reach and, ultimately, reach your corner gas station, God willing,” Biden remarked after he took the action.

The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) index, the U.S. oil benchmark, ticked up from $76.75 a barrel to $78.50 a barrel between Nov. 22-23, according to market data. The domestic benchmark then dipped throughout December before bursting past $80 a barrel in early January.

Similarly, the average price of gasoline nationwide, which stood at $3.40 per gallon on Nov. 22, fell about 10 cents before increasing to $3.61 a gallon by late February, federal data showed.

Also, how is it possible that Elon so blatantly violated the $ 15,000,000 Rule. Easy way to make money, but you just can’t do that. This major infraction alone could or should preclude him from making the deal? In any event, Twitter has been strip searched and what they are finding is not pretty. Updated: Do Mexican Cartels Qualify as Terrorist Organizations?

A Texas congressman is seeking to designate seven of the top Mexican cartels as “foreign terrorist organizations." Critics of the proposal fear such a designation could harm Mexico’s ability to wage its own fight against the cartels.

by Julián Aguilar April 22, 2011

A Texas congressman is seeking to designate seven of the top Mexican cartels as “foreign terrorist organizations,” a move he says would give law enforcement in the U.S. enhanced tools to combat the cartels.

Critics of the proposal, by U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Austin, fear such a designation could harm Mexico’s ability to wage its own fight against the cartels — and damage the U.S.'s relationship with its southern neighbor.

McCaul’s legislation, HR 1270, targets the Arellano Félix Organization, Los Zetas, La Familia Michoacana, and the Beltran Leyva, Sinaloa, Juárez and Gulf cartels.

It would permit the government to freeze funds tied to the organizations and qualifies persons found guilty of aiding the cartels for 15 additional years of prison time. A life sentence is possible if the aid — including providing, among other things, identification documents, lodging, training, weapons and transportation — leads to the death of an individual.

“The definition under federal law of terrorism says ‘to intimidate a civilian population or a government by assassination or kidnappings.’ To me the cartels fall squarely into that definition,” says McCaul, a former chief of counter terrorism and national security in the U.S. attorney’s office. “I am concerned that Mexico is losing this war against the drug cartels and so are we.”

U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, fears that it could further complicate Mexican President Felipe Calderón's current battle against crime.

“I think this will damage our relationship with our partner Calderón, who has risked so much to fight the drug cartels," Cuellar says. "And I think this will only strengthen his political opposition. He doesn’t work in a vacuum."

Looks like both him and his brother may be on the payroll

Former Mexico officials with ties to Texas under investigation

Jason Buch

, Dudley Althaus

Feb. 18, 2012

Updated: Feb. 19, 2012 2:04 a.m.

A former governor of the Mexican border state of Tamaulipas forged close ties with Texas politicians before investigations in that country and a recent arrest in San Antonio cast a shadow over his tenure.

Tomás Yarrington Ruvalcaba, who ran Tamaulipas from 1999 to 2005, is one of three former governors the Mexican government acknowledged this month are the targets of a corruption probe.

And documents in a criminal case in Texas allege that Yarrington, who worked hand in hand with his Texas counterparts during his career as state treasurer, governor, Mexican congressman and border mayor, was on the take from one of Mexico's most notorious drug cartels

The former Tamaulipas governors facing investigation in Mexico — Yarrington, Eugenio Hernández and Manuel Cavazos Lerma — often crossed the Rio Grande to rub elbows and pose for photos with their colleagues in Texas.

Yarrington, who has not been charged with any crimes and has publicly denied any wrongdoing, was once honored by the Texas Senate.

San Antonio raid

On Feb. 8, federal agents raided the Stone Oak-area home of Antonio Peña Arguelles, arresting the 56-year-old legal resident from Mexico and accusing him of money laundering. An affidavit filed by a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent outlining the allegations against Peña Arguelles made ==serious accusations about Yarrington.

==

An informant “described Antonio Peña Arguelles as a conduit between Mexican politicians, in particular Tomas Yarrington, and Zeta (drug cartel) members Miguel Treviño Morales and Heriberto Lazcano,” the agent wrote.

The affidavit went on to allege that Peña Arguelles funneled millions of dollars from the Zetas to Yarrington and other elected officials.

In arresting Peña, the DEA accused Yarrington of taking money from two of Mexico's most notorious organized crime figures.

>Looks like both him and his brother may be on the payroll

oh look.

Rick Perry

George W

In 1999, the Texas Senate passed a resolution honoring Yarrington. WhenGov. Rick Perrywas sworn into office for his first full term in 2003, Yarrington was in attendance.

His successor, Hernández, was in attendance and received a mention in Perry's 2005 State of the State speech. A Perry spokeswoman said the invitations were the result of “a professional relationship in their capacities as border governors.”

A closer relationshipappears to have existed ==between Yarrington and former President George W. Bush.

During his time as Texas governor,Bush worked closely with Yarrington, Cavazos Lerma and other Mexican officialsto forge trade initiatives and address environmental issues, and when Bush first ran for president in 2000, news stories cited his friendship with Yarrington as evidence of his foreign policy bona fides.

“Tomás is terrific, worked with him a lot,” the Los Angeles Times quoted Bush as saying in 2000.

For his part, Yarrington spoke highly of his Texas counterpart. During the campaign, a Dallas Morning News story included Yarrington relating the tale of sharing a stage with Bush.

“Tomás Yarrington is not my friend,” the then-Tamaulipas governor quoted Bush as saying. “The crowd went silent. Then he said,‘Tomas Yarrington is my compadre.'The crowd went wild, and he immediately won them over. Governor Bush is a politician with a human face.”

The fallout's reaching the U.S., too. A spokesman for thecampaigns of U.S. Rep.Henry Cuellar, D-Laredo, andhis brother, Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar, said they'vereturned or given to charity campaign donations from Peña-Arguelles, the accused conduit between the cartels and Mexican politicians.

In 2007, Peña Arguelles gave $1,500 to Martin Cuellar's election campaign, and in 2006 Antonio Pena's then-wife, Armandina, gave $1,000 to the re-election effort of Henry Cuellar.

Martin Cuellar asked the person who solicited the donation from Peña Arguelles to return it, said spokesman Colin Strother, and Henry Cuellar donated the money to charity. They did so last year, after learning that Peña Arguelles' brother was slain in Nuevo Laredo and his killers left a note accusing the brothers of working with the Zetas.

This is Mexico’s Burgos Basin, a deposit rich in natural gas and other hydrocarbons. In 2014, then-Senator Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca was instrumental in passing energy reform legislation which would end the state-owned PEMEX monopoly on Mexico's energy industry. Recently, it was alleged thatCabeza de Vaca received bribe money in exchange for the legislation. In July 2017, Mexico opened for the first time to development by private companies and foreign investment. In March of 2018, the petroleum company Repsol secured a development contract for $2.4b in the Monterrey-Reynosa block.

But Governor Cabeza de Vaca's ties to American politicians aren't exclusively to Republicans. Check out U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar's (D-TX) website. The former Mexican Senator-turned-Governor of Tamaulipas, instrumental in liberalizing the Mexican hydrocarbon market, is also linked to Cuellar, the only (D) co-sponsor of Congressman Chip Roy's Border Visibility and Security Act.

Twitter has got a very “rocky road” to climb. Why would Elon M want to buy so many Bots and Fake Accounts, especially for that price? Also, how is it possible that Elon so blatantly violated the $ 15,000,000 Rule. Easy way to make money, but you just can’t do that. This major infraction alone could or should preclude him from making the deal? In any event, Twitter has been strip searched and what they are finding is not pretty. Elon wants his money back, and they want a closing, without facts??

The young, ambitious, Radical Left Democrat “Prosecutor” from Georgia, who is presiding over one of the most Crime Ridden and Corrupt places in the USA, Fulton County, has put together a Grand Jury to investigate an absolutely “PERFECT” phone call to the Secretary of State. Many lawyers, from both sides, were knowingly on the call. I also assumed it was taped. I called to fight a Rigged & Stolen Election, and they go after me instead of the people that Rigged and Stole it. God Bless America!

Trump election probe grand jury, Fani T. Willis to hear from Raffensperger

Published: May 27, 2022, 3:57pm

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia’s secretary of state is expected to appear next week before a special grand jury in an investigation into whether former President Donald Trump and others illegally tried to meddle in the 2020 election in the state.

Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has been summoned to appear before the special grand jury Thursday, according to a subpoena obtained by The Associated Press through an open records request. Five other people in his office have received subpoenas to appear in early June and the office has received a subpoena for documents. State Attorney General Chris Carr has received a subpoena to appear June 21.

Trump directed his ire at Raffensperger, a fellow Republican, after the secretary of state refused to bend to pressure to overturn Democrat Joe Biden’s narrow presidential election victory in Georgia. On Tuesday, Raffensperger won the Republican primary in his quest for reelection, defeating a Trump-endorsed challenger.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis opened the investigation soon after she took office in January 2021. She made clear when she requested a special grand jury earlier this year that one purpose for doing so would be to issue subpoenas to people who might not cooperate otherwise.

The 23 members of the special grand jury and three alternates were selected May 2 but Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, who’s overseeing the panel, said the grand jurors wouldn’t begin meeting until June.

Willis has confirmed that her investigation includes looking into a January 2021 phone call in which Trump pushed Raffensperger to “find” the votes needed for him to win the state.

Among the documents the grand jury has asked for is anything that “memorializes the events” surrounding that call, anything that “explains the conduct” of the president during that call, and any logs of telephone calls between anyone in Raffensperger’s office and Trump or his representatives.

They also asked for anything showing the results of the audit and hand recount of the results of the 2020 presidential election and a forensic audit of the state’s voting equipment, among other documents.

The other people from the secretary of state’s office summoned to appear are Gabriel Sterling, chief operating officer; Ryan Germany, general counsel; Chris Harvey, former head of the elections divisions; Frances Watson, former chief investigator; and Victoria Thompson, a former executive assistant who is now a legislative liaison.

Willis has also said her team is looking at a November 2020 phone call between U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham and Raffensperger, the abrupt resignation of the U.S. attorney in Atlanta on Jan. 4, 2021, and comments made during December 2020 Georgia legislative committee hearings on the election.

Trump has said his call with Raffensperger was “perfect” and said he did nothing wrong. Graham has also denied any wrongdoing.

It’s not clear exactly what charges Willis could choose to pursue against Trump or anyone else. In a letter she sent to top-ranking state officials last year, she said she was looking into “potential violations of Georgia law prohibiting the solicitation of election fraud, the making of false statements to state and local government bodies, conspiracy, racketeering, violation of oath of office and any involvement in violence or threats related to the election’s administration.”

Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis asks for FBI protection after Trump rails against probe

American attorney, and District Attorney of Fulton County

January 31, 2022

The Georgia prosecutor looking into former President Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results is asking the FBI for protection after Trump called for protests of the “racist prosecutors” investigating him.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis sent a letter to the FBI’s Atlanta field office on Sunday requesting that the bureau conduct a risk assessment of the county courthouse and government center, as well as provide protective resources including “intelligence and federal agents” as her office ramps up its own investigation of the former president.

“We must work together to keep the public safe and ensure that we do not have a tragedy in Atlanta similar to what happened at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021,” Willis wrote in the letter, which was published by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “My staff and I will not be influenced or intimidated by anyone as this investigation moves forward.”

During a rally in Conroe, Texas, on Saturday night, Trump railed against ongoing probes into his efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election.

“If these radical, vicious, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protests we have ever had in Washington, D.C., in New York, in Atlanta and elsewhere, because our country and our elections are corrupt,” Trump said.

Earlier this month, Willis requested a special grand jury to aid her investigation because of what she called a lack of cooperation from witnesses, including the state’s Republican secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger. Willis launched the inquiry after Trump, in a Jan. 2, 2021, phone call, urged Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes” that made up Biden’s winning margin in the state.

Last week a judge granted Willis’s request for a grand jury, which will be impaneled beginning on May 2.

Meanwhile, the select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot continues to subpoena witnesses, including Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and other attorneys involved in pushing baseless election fraud claims. The panel recently asked Trump’s daughter Ivanka to cooperate voluntarily in its probe.

On Jan. 19, the Supreme Court denied the former president’s request to prevent the select committee from obtaining White House records concerning Trump’s activities leading up to and during the insurrection.

And New York Attorney General Letitia Jamessaid earlier this month that she has uncovered “significant evidence” of fraud in her ongoing investigations into the Trump Organization’s business practices.

Georgia district attorney: Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis investigating Trump has subpoenaed officials from secretary of state's office

An Atlanta-area district attorney investigating Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results has subpoenaed half a dozen officials from the Georgia secretary of state's office, according to copies of the documents obtained by CNN.

The flurry of activity comes as a special grand jury is set to begin its work of investigating the former President and his allies on June 1. A person familiar with the investigation said secretary of state officials are not alone in receiving subpoenas in recent weeks, as the Fulton County district attorney's office has ramped up its investigative activity.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis subpoenaed Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Interim Deputy Secretary of State Gabe Sterling, General Counsel Ryan Germany, former Elections Director Chris Harvey, Legislative Liaison Victoria Thompson and former Chief Investigator Frances Watson, according to copies of the documents.

The subpoenas call for the witnesses to testify on dates from early to mid-June. Raffensperger, who has previously said he would comply with a subpoena, appears slated to be one of the first witnesses to testify on June 2. His call with Trump in which the former President pressured Raffensperger to "find" the votes needed for Trump to win Georgia lies at the heart of the Georgia probe.

Sterling, Raffensperger's deputy, also has said he would comply with his subpoena. Several staffers in the office have already had voluntary conversations with Fulton County investigators and handed over relevant documents and recordings.

Willis, meantime, has said she's not limiting her investigation to Trump's infamous call with Raffensperger. She has cast a wide net looking at Georgia's fake electors, former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani's conspiracy-ridden presentation to state lawmakers and other issues as she tries to determine whether Trump and his allies engaged in a broad criminal conspiracy to try to swing the Peach State to Trump's column.

Ultimately the Trump team's efforts were unsuccessful: Joe Biden carried the state by nearly 12,000 votes in 2020, a tally that was confirmed by three counts of ballots.

Fulton County investigators traveled to Washington, DC, earlier this month to meet with staffers for the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, insurrection to go over information that may be relevant to the Georgia probe, according to the person familiar with the investigation. A spokesperson for the committee declined to comment.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reported that one of its political reporters who covered the 2020 election, Greg Bluestein, has been told he should expect to receive a subpoena.

The newspaper's managing editor, Shawn McIntosh, has said they would try to have any subpoena for Bluestein dismissed. She did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment.
