University Of Pittsburgh Uses Taxpayer-Funded Aborted Babies For Medical Research

Researchers grafted skin from aborted fetuses onto rodent bodies, creating what they call 'humanized rat models.'

The Pennsylvania House Health Committee held a hearing Tuesday on the University of Pittsburgh’s experimentation with aborted fetuses, including experiments grafting aborted baby scalps onto mice. Pitt denies that the aborted fetuses are supplied by a local Planned Parenthood, and that their research is funded by taxpayer dollars, but Tuesday’s hearing featured witnesses testifying otherwise.

In the fall of 2020, researchers at the University of Pittsburgh published a study titled, “Development of humanized mouse and rat models with full-thickness human skin and autologous immune cells.” In studying how organs reacted to pathogens or infections on human skin, researchers grafted “full-thickness human skin” as well as thymuses, livers, and spleens from fetuses onto rodent bodies, creating what they call “humanized rat models.”

The study says researchers obtained fetuses “at the gestational age of 18 to 20 weeks” from elective “termination of pregnancy through Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), with the University of Pittsburgh, Health Sciences Tissue Bank.”

Researchers used skin from both the scalps and backs of fetuses so that they could compare grafts with and without hair. Graphic images from the experiment show that by 12 weeks, fine human hair, or baby hair, can be seen growing darker and longer than the surrounding short white hairs of the mice.

This study was funded by the taxpayer-funded National Institute of Health (NIH), and in part by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s office, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). In a statement to The Federalist, Pitt spokesman Kevin Zwick said the university “does not use any of its state appropriation to fund fetal tissue research.” Pitt does not deny that they receive NIH funding or that they are performing their experiments in state-funded facilities.

State Rep. Kathy Rapp, the overseeing committee’s chairwoman, noted during the hearing that “even funding from the NIH is supported by Pennslyvania taxpayer dollars, so whether it’s federal or whether it’s state dollars … it is taxpayer-funded research.”

The University of Pittsburgh was represented by Dr. Jeremy Rich, a neurologist and deputy director of research at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. In answering questions from committee members, Rich said he was “relatively new to Pennslyvania” and repeatedly declined to answer questions on fetal tissue trafficking, admitting that as a brain cancer researcher, “speaking from my own experience, I don’t use fetal tissues, I use fetal cells.”

Rich reiterated Pitt’s position that “all laws and guidelines are being followed.” When questioned specifically on the humanized rats study, Rich interrupted a member to correct them, noting “they’re mice actually, they’re not rats,” even though the study in question has “humanized mouse and rat models” in its title.

avid Daleiden, a pro-life activist, undercover journalist, and founder of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), also testified Tuesday, alleging that Pitt and the local Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania are engaged in an illegal quid pro quo for fetal body parts.

Mexican Cartel Boss Hosts City-Wide Party for Children

The leader of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels hosted a large celebration for all the children in a western city. The party included food, gifts, entertainment, and a wrestling match paid for by Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG).

Breitbart Texas obtained exclusive videos and photographs from the celebrations in Tamazula, Jalisco, which includes the town of San Vicente and others. The celebrations took place on April 30, a day known in Mexico as Día Del Niño or Child’s Day. According to information obtained by Breitbart Texas, members of CJNG under orders of their leader Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera sent hundreds of presents and paid for large celebrations.

In one of the videos, a man dressed as a clown relays a message from Oseguera, referring to him as “Mr. Mencho” or the “Lord of the Roosters.” In the message, Mencho sends his regards and hopes to spread joy.

In a second video, a group of women thank El Mencho as they cook a large container of a traditional seasoned pork and corn stew known as pozole. The women express their thanks to the drug lord and wish him well.

The large-scale celebration took place without any interference from Mexican authorities. The CJNG is responsible for terrorist-style attacks including improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and shooting attacks. The CJNG is the leading organization behind armed conflicts in western and central Mexico as they seek to expand territories.

The celebrations are the continuation of outreach efforts by cartels to curry favor in rural communities. Other cartels such as the Gulf Cartel and the Cartel Del Noreste faction of Los Zetas also held celebrations during Christmas without any interference from law enforcement.

Technological change is upending finance. Bitcoin has gone from being an obsession of anarchists to a $1trn asset class that many fund managers insist belongs in any balanced portfolio. Swarms of digital day-traders have become a force on Wall Street. PayPal has 392m users, a sign that America is catching up with China’s digital-payments giants. Yet, as our special report explains, the least noticed disruption on the frontier between technology and finance may end up as the most revolutionary: the creation of government digital currencies, which typically aim to let people deposit funds directly with a central bank, bypassing conventional lenders.

These “govcoins” are a new incarnation of money. They promise to make finance work better but also to shift power from individuals to the state, alter geopolitics and change how capital is allocated. They are to be treated with optimism, and humility.

A decade or so ago, amid the wreckage of Lehman Brothers, Paul Volcker, a former head of the Federal Reserve, grumbled that banking’s last useful innovation was the atm. Since the crisis, the industry has raised its game. Banks have modernised their creaking it systems. Entrepreneurs have built an experimental world of “decentralised finance”, of which bitcoin is the most famous part and which contains a riot of tokens, databases and conduits that interact to varying degrees with traditional finance. Meanwhile, financial “platform” firms now have over 3bn customers who use e-wallets and payments apps. Alongside PayPal are other specialists such as Ant Group, Grab and Mercado Pago, established firms such as Visa, and Silicon Valley wannabes such as Facebook.

Government or central-bank digital currencies are the next step but they come with a twist, because they would centralise power in the state rather than spread it through networks or give it to private monopolies. The idea behind them is simple. Instead of holding an account with a retail bank, you would do so direct with a central bank through an interface resembling apps such as Alipay or Venmo. Rather than writing cheques or paying online with a card, you could use the central bank’s cheap plumbing. And your money would be guaranteed by the full faith of the state, not a fallible bank. Want to buy a pizza or help a broke sibling? No need to deal with Citigroup’s call centre or pay Mastercard’s fees: the Bank of England and the Fed are at your service.

This metamorphosis of central banks from the aristocrats of finance to its labourers sounds far-fetched, but it is under way. Over 50 monetary authorities, representing the bulk of global gdp, are exploring digital currencies. The Bahamas has issued digital money. China has rolled out its e-yuan pilot to over 500,000 people. The eu wants a virtual euro by 2025, Britain has launched a task-force, and America, the world’s financial hegemon, is building a hypothetical e-dollar.

One motivation for governments and central banks is a fear of losing control. Today central banks harness the banking system to amplify monetary policy. If payments, deposits and loans migrate from banks into privately run digital realms, central banks will struggle to manage the economic cycle and inject funds into the system during a crisis. Unsupervised private networks could become a Wild West of fraud and privacy abuses.

The other motivation is the promise of a better financial system. Ideally money provides a reliable store of value, a stable unit of account and an efficient means of payment. Today’s money gets mixed marks. Uninsured depositors can suffer if banks fail, bitcoin is not widely accepted and credit cards are expensive. Government e-currencies would score highly, since they are state-guaranteed and use a cheap, central payments hub.

As a result, govcoins could cut the operating expenses of the global financial industry, which amount to over $350 a year for every person on Earth. That could make finance accessible for the 1.7bn people who lack bank accounts. Government digital currencies could also expand governments’ toolkits by letting them make instant payments to citizens and cut interest rates below zero. For ordinary users, the appeal of a free, safe, instant, universal means of payment is obvious.

It is this appeal, though, that creates dangers. Unconstrained, govcoins could fast become a dominant force in finance, particularly if network effects made it hard for people to opt out. They could destabilise banks, because if most people and firms stashed their cash at the central banks, lenders would have to find other sources of funding with which to back their loans.

Federal Gov’t Telling Facebook to Silence Those With Vaccine Safety Concerns Says Lawsuit

It is no longer a random act — Facebook censorship has become so blatant and massive that they have indefinitely silenced the former president of the United States. Many pro-censorship advocates cheer this on because they dislike the voices silenced by Facebook. They attempt to justify the censorship with the claims that Facebook is a private company and can do what they want, a lawsuit filed against the social media giant says that is not the case.

A lawsuit filed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — the chairman of the non-profit group Children’s Health Defense (CHD) — claims Facebook conspires with the federal government to squelch speech which advocates for vaccine safety.

According to the lawsuit, overseen by Senior U.S. District Judge Susan Illston, Facebook started slapping warning labels on content posted on CHD’s Facebook page, including in September of 2020 when the social media giant posted a message directing users to seek “reliable, up-to-date information” about vaccines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Facebook also started labeling some of CHD’s content as “false information” based on research by third-party fact checkers, including a link to an article claiming vaccinated children “are more likely to have adverse health outcomes” in May 2020.

Suing Facebook over censorship is an impossible task (trust us, we tried) as the company claims the right to censor or moderate any content they see fit as they own the platform. However, in their new lawsuit, CHD claims the federal government coerced and encouraged Facebook to stifle its speech, transforming a private company’s actions into a state-sponsored directives.

On Wednesday, Facebook filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit; and during that hearing, Judge Illston asked if the government can ever take steps to counter misinformation without running afoul of the First Amendment.

“Let’s say there was something on the internet that says, ‘If you take a Covid vaccine, you’re going to grow a third head.’ That’s clearly not true. Is it OK to not let that be published?” Illston asked.

“I don’t think it’s OK if the government is calling the shot,” CHD attorney Roger Teich replied.

“You think it’s inappropriate for the government to say generally, ‘We’d really like it if all these private social media outlets didn’t publish lies about the Covid vaccine?’ That’s not alright to say that?” asked Illson.

Teich answered that it was the CDC’s “underhandedness” in using Facebook to restrict speech that violates the Constitution.

To show evidence of government / Facebook collusion, Teich cited multiple statements by Zuckerberg, the CDC and “its proxy,” the World Health Organization, declaring that they were “in discussion” and “working together” to reduce the spread of vaccine misinformation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a press conference after a meeting with the two, Ukraine’s prime minister and foreign minister and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland earlier in the day.

While acknowledging that it was too early to discuss the matter in detail, Zelensky said that “speaking of the military support and financial support and technical assistance coming from the U.S. for Ukraine, yes, it is happening.”

“It is unfolding,” he added, and expressed gratitude to both houses of the U.S. Congress and to Democrats and Republics alike for boosting military aid to his nation. Earlier this year the U.S. provided $125 million in defense assistance to Kiev, and currently the U.S. Senate is working on a bill that provides an additional $300 million.

Zelensky also confirmed that he has extended invitations to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to visit Ukraine this year on the 30th anniversary of its independence. Blinken thanked him for the invitation and said he’d relay it to Biden when he returns to Washington. The president, he was sure, would welcome the chance to return to a nation “where he spent much time in the past.”

The Ukrainian head of state also said he and the U.S. secretary of state had discussed security matters in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, and “and we can see some joint action there.” In both cases he’s alluding to rivalry with Russia; in the case of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait that connects it to the Black Sea, the control of the strait has been a bone of contention between Kiev and Moscow for years, with an open clash between the two nations occurring there in 2018.

Three Palestinians who opened fire at Border Police soldiers near a military base in the northern West Bank on Friday had initially planned to commit a “major attack” against civilians in central Israel, army and police officials said on Friday. Two of the gunmen were killed and the third was critically injured in a firefight with the Israeli troops.

The three attackers, all in their early 20s, were traveling on a bus with illegal Palestinian laborers en route to central Israel, and intended to commit the shooting there, a security official said.

Forces had halted the bus near the border crossing between Israel and the West Bank as part of routine security efforts to stop illegal laborers from entering Israel. Shortly after, the three Palestinians got off the bus and opened fire at the soldiers.

'Illegal schemes are unacceptable,' says AG Letitia James

The Office of New York Attorney General Letitia James has revealed in a new report that nearly 18 million of the more than 22 million comments the FCC received during its 2017 rulemaking were fake, intended to support the repeal of net neutrality, the idea that internet service providers (ISPs) should provide all online content equally and prevent them from favoring their own services or customers over their competitors.

A $4.2 million effort funded by Broadband for America, which includes major internet providers like AT&T, Comcast and Charter, reportedly accounted for more than 8.5 million of the fake FCC comments. Millions more were submitted by a teenage college student in California.

"The Office of the New York Attorney General (OAG) found that fake comments accounted for nearly 18 million of the more than 22 million comments the FCC received during its 2017 rulemaking," the AG's report reads. "This type of fraud has significant consequences for our democracy. Federal and state agencies rely on public comments to set standards that govern many aspects of our lives, from public health to consumer protection to the environment, and, in this case, the rules that govern how we share and consume content over the internet. Public comments can also influence legislators and the laws they enact."

"The OAG found that millions of fake comments were submitted through a secret campaign, funded by the country’s largest broadband companies, to manufacture support for the repeal of existing net neutrality rules using lead generators," the report continued. "And millions more were submitted by a 19- year old college student using made-up identities. The OAG also found that the FCC’s rulemaking proceeding was not unique. Some of the same parties and tactics have infected other rulemakings and processes for public engagement."

Officials in Maricopa County, Ariz., threw up another roadblock before the state Senate's 2020 election audit this week, refusing to surrender a portion of subpoenaed materials due to the alleged security risks they pose.

That refusal came in the form of a letter on Monday from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office that cited "a significant security risk to law enforcement data utilized by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office as well as numerous federal agencies."

In its subpoena, the Arizona State Senate had asked for, in part, "access or control of all routers, tabulators or combinations thereof, used in connection with the administration of the 2020 election, and the public IP of the router."

The Monday letter from the MCAO said the county was refusing to hand over those routers or even digital copies of them, citing an alleged "security risk" associated with the hardware.

County spokesman Fields Moseley told Just the News on Thursday that "the routers the Senate subpoena commanded the County produce support [more than 50] departments, not just elections operations," including "critical law enforcement data that, by law, cannot be disclosed, as well as Maricopa County residents' protected health information and full social security numbers."

"By providing the routers, or even virtual images of routers, sensitive data and the lives of law enforcement personnel could be endangered," he added.

That explanation would appear to conflict with the February ruling of Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Timothy Thomason in which the judge ordered Maricopa to comply with the state Senate's subpoena. Addressing the county's numerous objections to the subpoena, Thomason argued that Maricopa's claims of confidentiality concerns do not preempt the requirements of the subpoena.

"The Senators had the power to issue the Subpoenas and have the statutory power to enforce those Subpoenas in the manner set forth in the statutes," Thomason wrote. "The Subpoenas are, in essence, the equivalent of a Court order, requiring production of certain information. The County cannot avoid a subpoena based on statutes that require that the material being subpoenaed be kept confidential."

Thomason's ruling constituted "a minute entry that the subpoenas are legitimate and enforceable by the Senate," Moseley said. "Maricopa County has worked hard to comply with the demands of the subpoena and tried to solve this security risk in a number of ways. We continue to study this issue."

Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) has moved toxic gases from Idlib city to an abandoned town in the eastern Idlib countryside, Sputnik reported on May 7.

Sources familiar with the matter told Sputnik that the toxic gases will be kept in a depot in the town of Kafarya, whose residents were displaced in 2018, for a while. Later, the toxics will be moved to a new depot on the Syrian border with Turkey.

According to the sources, the toxics, which are stored in cylinders, were moved in a van equipped with a refrigerator on the morning of May 7.

The cylinders were shipped from a headquarters of HTS in Idlib city to a position of the group in the western outskirts of the city, where they were briefly stored before being moved to Kafarya in eastern Idlib.

“HTS uses the abandoned town as a station only, as the toxic shipment will soon be transported to a camp on the Syrian-Turkish border,” one of the sources, a member of the White Helmets organization, told Sputnik.

The source revealed that the toxic gases arrived at HTS headquarters in Idlib city exactly five days ago. Three militants, two Chechens and one French, were guarding the shipment.

Sputnik’s report is not surprising. In the last three years, sources in Greater Idlib revealed details about HTS’ chemical program to outlets in Russia, Syria and Lebanon.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia warned on many occasions in the past that HTS and its allies are planning to use toxics to stage false-flag attack with chemical weapons. The aim will be to provoke a military response by the US and its Western allies against the Syrian military.

Doctors in at least two states in India, which is facing a devastating coronavirus second wave, are reporting a spike in a deadly fungal infection among coronavirus patients.

Hospitals in the Indian capital Delhi and the western state of Gujarat have reported a surge in Mucormycosis, also known as Black Fungus, in patients with COVID-19 or those who had recently recovered from it, the Hindustan Times reported.

Six patients admitted to Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram hospital over the last two days have developed the infection, and Gujarat has reported a sudden spike in cases, with no numbers available immediately.

Mucormycosis is a type of funcal infection with a very high mortality rate, reportedly killing nearly half of those infected if not treated early. Those infected with the fungus are also at risk of losing their eye sight or may have to get their facial bones removed if the infection spreads.

Here is what the CDC says of the fungus: "Mucormycosis (previously called zygomycosis) is a serious but rare fungal infection caused by a group of molds called mucormycetes. These molds live throughout the environment. Mucormycosis mainly affects people who have health problems or take medicines that lower the body’s ability to fight germs and sickness. It most commonly affects the sinuses or the lungs after inhaling fungal spores from the air. It can also occur on the skin after a cut, burn, or other type of skin injury."

Dr Aparna Mahajan, an ENT consultant at the Fortis Hospital, told The Quint: "The fungus is freely present around us, but it needs a very specific kind of environment in someone's body for it to get an opportunity to cause an infection." She said the infection behaves somewhat like cancer but is deadlier. "Cancer would take at least a few months to have a lethal effect. This can lead to fatality within days or even hours."

India's recorded a grim global record of more than 414,000 infections and 3,915 deaths Thursday. The country's health system continues to remain stressed from a shortage of medical oxygen, ICU beds and other medical equipment amid a deluge of patients suffering from respiratory difficulties. The surge is being driven by a new variant of the virus, known as the B.1.617, with mutations that make is more infectious than most other strains.

CHICAGO— U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Chicago O’Hare’s International Mail Branch recently seized two packages containing pill bottles full of Tramadol tablets, a schedule IV substance under the Controlled Substance Act.Tramadol

The shipments were arriving from the Mexico and were destined for a single residence in Dallas, Texas. The customs declaration affixed to the parcel listed the contents as Plastics, Decorations, and Toys. The officers inspected the shipments to determine the admissibility of the parcels and its contents, and found 38,350 Tramadol pills with a street value of $191,750.

“Most people hear about CBP seizing narcotics shipments,” said Shane Campbell, Area Port Director-Chicago. “However shipments of illegal prescription pills are very dangerous too. These pills were not regulated by the FDA and can contain harmful chemicals that could be poisonous.”

Twitter is making it perfectly clear it does not want Donald Trump’s political statements on its platform in any way, shape or form.

Since Trump opened up his new “desk” website, where users can post his statements onto various social media accounts, it seemed like only a matter of time that social media companies like Twitter would find an excuse to suspend some users who share those statements, as well.

“Twitter suspended an account on Thursday that appeared to be circumventing its ban on former President Donald Trump by posting messages he shared on his own website,” NBC reported.

“On Thursday morning, a Twitter accounts with the handle ‘@DJTDesk’ appeared on Twitter,” the report continued. “The account’s bio section stated that the handle would be featuring ‘Posts copied from Save America on behalf of the 45th POTUS; Originally composed via DonaldJTrump/Desk’.”

“Within hours, the account was suspended,” the report added.

A Twitter spokesperson told NBC News: “As stated in our ban evasion policy, we’ll take enforcement action on accounts whose apparent intent is to replace or promote content affiliated with a suspended account.”

The development of Twitter banning some users who share Donald Trump’s statements follows upon Facebook’s decision to maintain its temporary suspension.

On Wednesday, Donald Trump lashed out at Big Tech giants that colluded to keep him from speaking to the American people on their platforms.

“What Facebook, Twitter, and Google have done is a total disgrace and an embarrassment to our Country,” Trump wrote on his new digital platform.
