Then-President Donald Trump opened ANWR’s 1.6 million acres of the 19.6 million-acre refuge for drilling in the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, with leases approved since then now in jeopardy under the new administration.

Biden has been yanking permits and demanding new environmental assessments in an effort to cancel projects altogether. Last week, the Interior Department tossed out the analysis completed under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), long held as the gold standard of assessing environmental impacts, and ordered a new supplemental review for leases in the Arctic refuge two months after they were suspended....

As many as 100 Afghan evacuees flown out of war-torn Kabul are on intelligence agency watch lists, a United States government official warned on Tuesday as it was revealed one passenger flown out to Qatar has potential ties to ISIS.

The Afghans, potential candidates for Special Immigration Visas (SIV), were flagged as possible matches to intelligence agency watch lists by the Defense Department's Automated Biometric Identification System, an official with the U.S. government told Defense One.

The Afghan who has potential ties to ISIS was detected by security screeners at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar after they were evacuated from Kabul Airport, another official told the outlet. There have been 6,000 Afghans taken to the air base.

'Intelligence, law enforcement, and counterterrorism professionals are conducting screening and security vetting for all SIV applicants and other vulnerable Afghans before they are allowed into the United States,' a State Department spokesperson told DailyMail.com.

'We are surging resources to evaluate each case and process these as efficiently as possible to protect homeland security.'

The State Department declined to confirm to DailyMail.com whether any immigrants have been flagged for having ties to ISIS, and it is unclear if they were processed before or after leaving Kabul.

Psaki insists Americans and SIV holders can get to Kabul airport

The Afghan evacuees are being screened against law enforcement databases using biometric data including facial recognition, iris scans and fingerprints by agents with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).

Officials told Defense One there 'certainly' have been some Afghans who triggered alerts - but, in most cases, they have already been cleared after further screening.

However, the CBP agents are facing challenges in screening the incredible number of SIV applicants such as using old vetting systems that 'could not integrate' with the Defense Department's biometric database information, Defense One reported.

'CBP on the ground has old tech and they don't know how to use it, integrate it. And there's not enough people to process' all of the evacuees,' an official said.

The technology can take up to an hour for the system to determine whether someone is a potential security risk - and officials maintained that the system is working, but slowly.

The officials who spoke with Defense One noted that most of the security alerts have been flagged at Al Udeid, but that they 'can't rule it out' that alerts are happening at other temporary bases.

Another military-focused publication, Stars and Stripes, noted that service members at Al Udeid are feeling the toll from the mass evacuation of Afghanistan - one of the largest military operations in history.

'Been doing this 12-16 (hours), no days off since the s-t hit the fan,' one Facebook user wrote on a page for Al Udeid residents.

'Now I love the fact I'm helping people and I wouldn't know what to do if I was in (their) shoes, but I just want some real rest ... cause I'm shutting down slowly. ... I'm mf TIRED ok.'

One American worker at the base told Stars and Stripes he worked 22-hour days for three days straight, which included 10 hours a day of volunteering.

Soldiers explained that there are not enough translators, and ice to keep water cool was running low despite scorching 120-degree temperatures, Stars and Stripes reported.

The outlet noted that the air base has become so full of evacuees that one plane circled overhead for two hours before it could land.

'To give these people a new chance at life was worth it,' the person wrote. 'Guys in (Al Udeid) are still swamped right now.'

Blackwater founder Erik Prince charging $6.5K to get people out of Afghanistan

Defense contractor and Blackwater founder Erik Prince is reportedly now chartering planes to get people out of Afghanistan — as the US struggles to evacuate Americans and allies before the Aug. 31 deadline.

Prince is guaranteeing people that he can get them safely into Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport and onto a charter flight for $6,500 a person, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

He is charging extra if people are trapped in their homes and need assistance getting to the airport, the report said.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Prince had the money, or means, to carry out such rescues and who they were being offered to, nor was there indication Prince was profiting off chartering the planes.

Prince — a former Navy SEAL and President Donald Trump ally — co-founded the private military company Blackwater, which is now known as Academi, in 1997.

Blackwater was known in the US for furnishing some of the rougher military contractors during the Iraq War.

His company gained attention in 2007 when his contractors killed 17 Iraqi civilians in the Nisour Square massacre. Four agents were convicted in 2014 over the attack but were all pardoned by Trump in December last year.

More recently, Prince — who is the brother of Trump’s Education Secretary Betsy DeVos — was accused of violating the UN arms embargo against Libya, according to a report to the UN Security Council. Prince denied any wrongdoing.

His $6,500 offer to help get people out of Afghanistan comes as Americans and Afghans rush to flee Kabul as the window for evacuations is closing.

He is among the many contractors, veterans and aid workers trying to get as many people out of Kabul as possible before President Biden’s Aug. 31 deadline....

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy confronted White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki about Biden’s juvenile response when asked about Americans trapped in Afghanistan in a potential hostage situation.

Joe Biden on Wednesday met with members of his Cabinet, his national security team and private sector leaders to discuss the nation’s cybersecurity concerns.

NBC News Chief White House Correspondent Peter Alexander asked Joe Biden what he will do if Americans are still in Afghanistan after the August 31 deadline.

Joe Biden smirked and gave a snarky response as the White House cut the audio feed

"At the tail end of the President’s remarks today about cybersecurity, he was asked about Afghanistan… and he made a joke. So, what’s so funny?” Doocy said.

Psaki was unable to cover for her senile boss so she delivered a word salad.

“Well, I think the question he was asked…is about when he will provide information about a decision on August 31,” Psaki said.

Lisa Shaw: Presenter's death due to complications of Covid vaccine

A radio presenter died due to complications from the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, a coroner has found.

Lisa Shaw, who worked for BBC Radio Newcastle, died at the age of 44 in May after developing headaches a week after getting her first dose of the vaccine.

Newcastle coroner Karen Dilks heard Ms Shaw suffered blood clots in the brain which ultimately led to her death.

The inquest heard the condition linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine was very rare.
