President Donald Trump on Thursday invoked the Defense Production Act against 3M to acquire more medical masks to fight the coronavirus.

The president responded to the news reported by Fox News host Tucker Carlson that 3M was sending masks to foreign countries instead of shipping them to the United States.

“We hit 3M hard today after seeing what they were doing with their Masks,” Trump wrote. “Big surprise to many in government as to what they were doing – will have a big price to pay!”

Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management Jared Moskowitz appeared on Carlson’s show to shame the company for not saving the masks for American workers.

Billionaire Mark Cuban also exposed 3M distributors for making as much money as possible with the masks and even spoke to the White House about the “price gouging” he said was taking place.

US judge dismisses New Mexico's immigration lawsuit

(AP) • April 2, 2020

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A U.S. judge has granting a motion to dismiss claims by New Mexico that immigration officials shirked their duties by quickly releasing thousands of mostly Central American migrants into communities after they crossed into the United States.

New Mexico had claimed in a lawsuit filed nearly a year ago that the practice left communities to pick up the tab for housing and feeding the asylum-seekers until they moved on to find relatives or other hosts elsewhere in the U.S.

U.S. District Judge James Browning on Tuesday found that the Department of Homeland Security had complied with the law and acted within its powers and discretion and that sovereign immunity protected the federal government from liability.

Browning also determined that the federal government’s policies satisfied due process and other constitutional standards.

It wasn't immediately clear if the state planned to appeal.

In addition to seeking an end to the catch-and-release practice, New Mexico had sought reimbursement for humanitarian efforts to temporarily shelter migrants. Las Cruces, Deming and other communities used their own resources to house and feed the immigrants, and the state resorted to issuing its own grants to help communities with the costs.

Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and his immigration policies, cited a “derogation of duty” when she announced the lawsuit last June against then-acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan and top immigration officials. The city of Albuquerque was a co-plaintiff.

The complaint resembled a suit filed previously by San Diego County in California that challenged the cancellation of a federal program that helped migrants with phone calls and other travel logistics as they sought final destinations across the U.S.

The quick releases in New Mexico came as the border was inundated with migrants seeking asylum. At times, groups of 300 or more people showed up at remote outposts, including the crossings at Antelope Wells and Sunland Park, closer to El Paso, Texas.

Attorneys for the state and the city told the judge during a hearing last year that hundreds of people were dropped off in Deming in the middle of summer and it wasn't an option to ignore them given the state's responsibility for ensuring public health and safety for all people within its jurisdiction.

Deputy City Attorney Winter Torres argued that local officials had only 10 to 12 hours of notification before some 300 migrants were released on Easter weekend in 2019. She had suggested that the federal government was targeting Albuquerque because of its immigrant-friendly policies.

Federal officials denied those claims.

Attorneys for the government argued in court that New Mexico and the city had no standing to bring the lawsuit because the previous safe release policy was not something that was ever formally adopted through regulations or statute and thus left to the discretion of immigration officials.

New Mexico’s congressional delegation did secure $30 million in grants for communities and organizations that aided asylum seekers.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note fell 3 basis points to 0.59% while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was also lower at 1.23%. Bond yields move inversely to prices.- Cap#3 The Labor Department said Friday U.S. payrolls fell by 701,000 in March, marking the first decline in jobs since September 2010. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones had been looking for a payroll decline of 10,000. The unemployment rate rose to 4.4% from 3.5% as employers just began to cut payrolls ahead of social distancing practices that shut down large swaths of the U.S. economy in order to stop the virus’s spread.

Devin Nunes, who over the course of his career has blamed a drought on environmentalists and Donald Trump’s collusion with the Kremlin on the FBI, went dark on us for a little while but has returned with a vengeance, blaming the soon-to-be-wrecked economy on California education bureaucrats. OK, not directly. But in a dumbshit harangue to Laura Ingraham Tuesday night (with the Fox host nodding along every step of the way), he denounced the closure of California’s schools as “way overkill” and then argued that Americans have to get back to work in “a week to two weeks” or the economy will perish.

The ugly world view that has brought us to this wretched point was on full display, along with the evidence that this impassioned advocate of a return to pedagogical normalcy must have skipped English class as a lad (“kids coulda went back to school in two weeks to four weeks,” he said). The experts, from education to public health, are making ninnies of us, when what we really need is for a few real men to get back out there in public and show the rest of us what real Muricans think of a pesky little virus.

This Is a Man-Made Disaster, and That Man Is Donald Trump

It’s tempting to call that kind of talk idiotic, but it’s worse than idiotic. Language like his, in mid-March and now, is pernicious. It’s deadly. People who take his advice are at risk of dying, or killing others. Nunes may be an idiot, but he’s unquestionably also a villain.

He’s a villain of the virus. There are a lot of virus idiots out there, like Evangeline Lilly, who said she wouldn’t self-quarantine and subsequently apologized for being such a dope.

But she’s not a true villain. Villains of the Virus are saying and doing things that will advance death, that will contribute to the U.S. and global body count. And by the way that sounds like a great name for a list. Who, so far, are the leading Villains of the Virus?

1. Donald Trump. Duh. This doesn’t even need to be explained. Just remember these two dates. He received his first intelligence warning about the virus on Jan. 8. He finally acknowledged that it was more than mostly a political hoax on March 13, at that briefing where he kept shaking everyone else’s hands. Yes, other politicians were slow, too, but other politicians weren’t the president of the United States getting intel briefings and hair-on-fire warnings from the world’s leading epidemiologists.

2. Rupert Murdoch. Yes, Sean Hannity is a virus villain for sure, and Ingraham; Tucker Carlson started out that way, but I guess we have to pull him off the list ever since his valiant drive to Mar-a-Lago in early March to try to tell Trump that this was serious stuff. But the biggest villain of all is off-screen: Murdoch, 89, who is the one who allows these toxic lies onto his airwaves and who cancelled his birthday party in early March even as he was letting his stars go out on his air and tell his viewers it was all no biggie.

3. Rush Limbaugh. The virus was a Democrat effort “to get Trump” and was just “the common cold, folks.” Remember, that’s a Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient talking.

4. Ron DeSantis. In some ways, the Florida governor is the most unbelievable of the bunch. Still no stay-at-home order. Look at this video of boaters crowding this inlet. This wasn’t from January or February. It was from last weekend. It fell to Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez to ban these sandbar parties. What is happening in DeSantis’ brain? In a state where one in five residents is a senior citizen? So he finally issued a stay-at-home order Wednesday. Count me unimpressed. He should have done it two weeks ago, and anyway he’ll never live down spring break.

5. Kelly Loeffler. The Georgia Republican senator made news alongside North Carolina GOP senator Richard Burr for trading stock based on inside information they were receiving about the crisis as senators. But Loeffler is worse. Her husband owns the New York Stock Exchange. The couple sold shares in retail chains and invested in a company that makes COVID-19 protective garments. She could have been telling her constituents what she knew: that this virus was deadly serious and they’d better hunker down. But she wasn’t telling them that, just as she wasn’t telling them that they should dump their retail stock because brick and mortar stores were about to tank.

And Nunes fills out the dirty half-dozen.

There are tons of others. Loads of administration officials and other Republicans have made statements belittling the extent of the virus, over-praising Trump’s abominable handling of it, or arguing that saving the stock market was more important than saving lives. I think of Mike Pence, Mick Mulvaney, Larry Kudlow… but really, they’re too numerous to name.

Twitter discovered that an issue with the way Mozilla Firefox stores cached data meant that anyone downloading Twitter data or transferring media utilizing a direct message, for example, could have inadvertently left their data hanging around for threat actors to access. The information may, Twitter confirmed, have been retained in the Firefox cache after logging out of Twitter. For how long? How does seven days grab you? After seven days, the Firefox cache retention policy would have kicked in and deleted the data. The problem is, of course, that within the course of that week, your data would be vulnerable to being accessed by hackers using tools that specifically trawl through browser caches looking for information that has been left hanging around. Especially potentially sensitive information. Obviously, this makes those users who logged into Twitter using Firefox from a shared or public computer at particularly high risk.

The Navy hospital ship was dispatched by President Donald Trump as a beacon of hope to the struggling city as the coronavirus outbreak in the Big Apple reached 51,809 cases and 1,562 deaths as of 5pm Thursday.

There are now 245,356 U.S. cases and 6,056 deaths across the country. On Wednesday, it became the first country in the world to hit 1,000 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours.

Yet with ambulances forced to bring patients to a hospital for a coronavirus test first, a long list of medical conditions that the Navy won't treat on board, and a host of other bureaucratic hurdles causing many delays, the ship's beds lie empty and its staff idle.

Michael Dowling, the head of Northwell Health, New York's largest hospital system, has called the Navy's restrictions a 'joke' as New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo argued the ship should begin to accept coronavirus patients.

This Sunday, April 5, is expected to be 'D-Day' for the outbreak in the city and whether hospital supplies will hold up.

That puts him among the top five gainers in the world. Jeff Bezos - the world’s richest person - is up $3.4 billion, while Bill Gates is down $15.3 billion.

The global health crisis has exposed a shortage of ventilators - the equipment health-care providers rely on to keep critically sick patients alive. While companies from Ford Motor Co. to General Motors Co. rush in to help ramp up production, Mindray’s board secretary Li Wenmei said that global demand is at least 10 times what’s available at hospitals. New York is just a few days away from exhausting its supply, according to state Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The death toll worldwide has exceeded 53,000 while infections have topped 1 million. Italy and Spain are the most impacted in Europe, but the disease has also spread rapidly across the U.S., where President Donald Trump warned of 100,000 deaths or more.

The Society of Critical Care Medicine estimates that 960,000 patients would need ventilator support in the U.S., but the nation only has about 200,000 such machines. In Italy, the country with the most number of fatalities, a severe ventilator shortage has forced doctors to triage patients.

Until late last month, Mindray’s ventilators didn’t have approvals in the U.S. market but the Food and Drug Administration authorized their use under an emergency rule designed to help ease the shortage. That move has also boosted the prospects of Mindray.

That authorization is “providing opportunities for Chinese ventilator products to enter the U.S. market quickly,” analysts led by Tian Jiaqiang at Citic Securities Co. wrote in a research note this week.

Mindray, which makes 3,000 ventilators a month, isn’t the only manufacturer of the machine in China. Beijing Aeonmed Co. also got FDA authorization last month, according to the regulator’s website. Shares of Jiangsu Yuyue Medical Equipment & Supply Co., another maker, have rallied 98% this year in Shenzhen, boosting its market value to $5.7 billion.

Giant Rivals

Though Mindray, with a market capitalization of $44 billion, is dwarfed by medical-device giants like Dublin-based Medtronic Plc, the Chinese firm has the potential to expand its market share, said Nikkie Lu, an analyst with Bloomberg Intelligence.

“It’s had a very good track record,” with its products able to enter markets like Europe and Hong Kong, she said.

In an earnings filing this week, Mindray said orders from Europe especially have increased dramatically, with Italy purchasing the first batch of almost of 10,000 pieces of equipment including ventilators and monitors.

The company, which has 17 subsidiaries in China and operations in 30 countries, makes health monitoring systems, ventilators, defibrillators, anesthesia machines and infusion systems. The firm has a direct sales team in the U.S. and long-time global partners include Mayo Clinic, the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Cleveland Clinic, according to its annual report.

Not Forever

The boost to the wealth of Mindray Chairman Li, who founded the firm in 1991 along with Xu and Cheng, contrasts with the erosion in net worth of his peers in Asia. Li Ka-shing, Hong Kong’s richest man, has lost $7.1 billion this year as the city fights a recession from the double-whammy of the pandemic and last year’s political protests. Singapore reported the biggest economic contraction in a decade in the first quarter, and expects a severe recession for the year.

The ventilator boom won’t last forever, said Bloomberg Intelligence’s Lu. As more societies age, demand will grow for breathing-support devices, but not to match the scale seen during this crisis, she said.

“Sales will definitely drop after the outbreak.”

You know the drill. Your throat feels scratchy, you start sneezing and coughing, and pretty soon you're in the grip of a nasty cold. To add insult to injury, all that big-time misery is from a tiny invader - a living thing called a virus.

And it's not just one you need to dodge. There are more than 200 that can lay you low.

It's likely that someday you'll have a close encounter with one of these types:

Rhinovirus

RSV and parainfluenza

There are also a lot of viruses that doctors haven't identified. About 20%-30% of colds in adults are caused by these "unknown" bugs.

How and When They Strike

Cold viruses have a lot in common, but each type has its own style, too.

Rhinovirus. This bunch is most active in early fall, spring, and summer. They cause 10%-40% of colds. You'll feel plenty miserable when you catch one, but the good news is they rarely make you seriously sick.

Coronavirus. These tend to do their dirty work in the winter and early spring. The coronavirus is the cause of about 20% of colds. There are more than 30 kinds, but only three or four affect people.

RSV and parainfluenza. These viruses cause 20% of colds. They sometimes lead to severe infections, like pneumonia, in young children.

What's Not Causing Your Cold

Time to set the record straight. There's no evidence that you get sick because you've been out in cold weather. And don't worry if you got overheated. It doesn't lead to a cold either.

Another myth says your diet is the cause. Don't pay attention to that tall tale. And ignore someone who says you're getting sick because your tonsils or adenoids are large.

On the other hand, research suggests that stress and allergies that affect your nose or throat may raise your chances of getting infected by a cold virus.

Other Causes of the Common Cold

About 10% to 15% of adult colds are caused by viruses also responsible for other, more severe respiratory illnesses.

The causes of 20%-30% of adult colds, presumed to be viral, remain unidentified. The same viruses that produce colds in adults appear to cause colds in children. The relative importance of various viruses in children's colds, however, is unclear because it's difficult to isolate the precise cause of symptoms in studies of children with colds.

There is no evidence that you can get a cold from exposure to cold weather or from getting chilled or overheated.

My bank (BOA) just told me, despite having banking with them for the past 20 years, having credit with them in the past (i.e. paid off loan), I don't qualify for the Paycheck Protection loan because I don't have a current credit account with them as of Feb 15th, i.e. because I don't owe them any money. They said this was an SBA requirement.

They actually turned me away.

So much for a loan without collateral.

Turkish military launches attack against Syrian Army troops in northern Aleppo

BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 P.M.) – The Turkish military has launched a new attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate this week.

According to a field report from the Aleppo countryside, Turkish troops targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the city of Manbij, injuring a few soldiers in the process.

The field report said the Turkish military’s attack around the city of Manbij was unprovoked, as the Syrian Army rarely carries out any hostilities in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate.

The Manbij countryside is where the Russian and Turkish armed forces conduct joint patrols; they have done so for several months now.

Manbij was captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in 2016 after a short battle between their troops and the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh).

Since then, Manbij has been a source of contention between the U.S. and Turkish forces, as the latter demands the withdrawal of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) from the area.

After that weird Train derailment, an anon made a comment that it was weird that Comey had tweeted something about "Training" just before it happened. I was thinking about it and suddenly it clicked. I think I know how the code works. It's actually extremely simple, but very hard to crack in reverse.

It is known as a Fleissner grille.

Imagine a piece of stiff paper or card stock. On it is a template with holes cut out. They post a simple message on twitter that seems innocent (though sometimes weird). It means nothing unless you have that exact card code. You place that card on your phone and out pops the secret message.

So for example this infamous Comey Train Tweet: https://mobile.twitter.com/Comey/status/1245136483981328386

I believe says **M is Go on Traine op. Dtes (Donald Trump's) move

Or it might possibly say "es" move. There are a few times when I tried this method that it seemed like they were referring to "e" as a person, possibly "Evergreen". So maybe this is saying "your move Donald", or its saying "HRC your call to sign off on this".

The tricky part is there are possibly several cards and a system to use them. In order to pick it apart precisely you have to use the same device, same font sizes, same kerning etc (though I'd bet they were on the default of whatever device they are using) I think I've figured out at least one part of the system.

In particular this tweet gives a big hint: "I learned portrait mode" https://mobile.twitter.com/Comey/status/1244778937831641089)

I'm a little fuzzy on this one because like I said without the device, the holes don't line up perfectly. But I believe it says **"Prin (Prince) ill me n u port od"

Or fully decoded: **Prince ill. Me and you port op

I've noticed the letters "od" ended up getting hit on many times, and I think its a clever way of saying "op" since the d is an upside down p.

Now what is really important about this tweet is the weird reference to portrait mode. Its just awkwardly worded, and not how a normal person would talk. That is until you realize it is a hint. I believe that when there is a picture along with the twitter post, the orientation of the picture is a hint at which code template to use to decipher. If its in landscape you use the landscape card. For portrait you use the portrait code template. Unfortunately, this particular pic he chose he realized it might be hard to tell the orientation since the pic might look correct in either. So he specified to the intended recipients so they knew this was a portrait coded tweet. As such, I used what I think is the portrait code to decode it to come up with the above potential message.

So as I went through many tweets, mostly from Comey and HRC, I tended to notice these patterns, but it was really rough. Being on the same device seems to be really important. So if any bored anons out there want to start hacking away at this to see if I'm right, make sure to try different devices. If you hit on one that seems to work, let me know.

I have a bunch of them that I tried to decode this way (and I tried as much as possible to see how often a particular template was correct). However, I believe there are at least three templates, but there are possibly many more that they use depending on the time stamp of the tweet or some other method of mixing it up.

Please take all of these with a grain of salt. I am just starting to crack away at this. I wanted to see if I could break it by myself, but it looks like too monumental of a task, so I decided to share to see if some other anons want to join in. Company responds to criticism from President Trump, government request to stock exporting of respirators to Canada, Latin America

3M Co. responded Friday to criticism from President Donald Trump, saying the request to cease exports of much-needed N95 masks to fight the COVID-19 pandemic will not only have the “opposite” effect of what is needed, but also “significant humanitarian” consequences.

The company, which makes safety, industrial and consumer products, including Post-it Notes and Scotch tape, as well as face masks, said that it has been working closely with the Trump administration to supply N95 respirators to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus, and appreciates the authorities in the Defense Production Act that were invoked on Thursday, but indicated that some of the administration’s requests could be counterproductive.

For example, under the DPA, the administration requested 3M to cease exports of respirators made in the U.S. to Canada and Latin America.

The company US:MMM said that would have “significant humanitarian implications” as 3M is a critical supplier to those countries, and would also likely provoke other countries to do the same, as some have already done.

“If that were to occur, the net number of respirators being made available to the United States would actually decrease,” 3M said in a statement. “That is the opposite of what we and the Administration, on behalf of the American people, both seek.”

The company pointed out that after a request from the administration to increase respirators imported from its overseas operations, it was able to secure approval from the Chinese government earlier this week, with help from the administration, to export 10 million N95 respirators that it made in China to the U.S.

US Marshals guard Asilomar coronavirus quarantine area in Pacific Grove [BOHEMIAN GROVE]

PACIFIC GROVE — As fatigue-clad U.S. Marshals patrolled the perimeter of a closed-off section of the Asilomar Hotel and Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove Thursday morning, Monterey County officials say there remain unanswered questions about a dozen people quarantined inside the facility.

At a news conference Wednesday afternoon at Pacific Grove City Hall, county officials said they were not aware that U.S. Marshals were guarding the fenced-off area at Asilomar, where 12 former passengers of the Grand Princess cruise ship are being housed under quarantine. As of Wednesday, 22 passengers from the ship have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

“We are (guarding the area) now,” said one U.S. Marshall staffed at a Sinex Avenue entrance into the quarantined area of the conference center. The U.S. Marshall asked that his name not be used because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Behind the U.S. Marshals, staff from the California Office of Emergency Services wearing bright orange gloves were working on a staging area for individuals being brought in or out of the makeshift facility. Crocker Avenue between Sinex Avenue and Sunset Drive has been closed to traffic. Crocker borders the quarantine area.

All guest operations have been suspended through April 12, according to a notice posted on Asilomar’s website. There is a tentative open date of April 13.

Meanwhile, Monterey County Health Department officials on Wednesday said they were told there were 12 individuals currently quarantined with a capacity of 24. However, specific information on the status of the people quarantined was not immediately available to local officials. Asilomar Conference Center is owned by California State Parks.

“We’re here to address rumors that are circulating,” said Monterey County Supervisor Mary Adams at Wednesday’s news conference. “We’ve had so many questions in emails and voicemails from people who are concerned and troubled. There is a lot of misinformation.”

Adams, whose district includes Asilomar, said that the quarantine is a state-run operation and that county officials “don’t have all the answers.”

The county was first contacted by the state Office of Emergency Services at about 11 a.m. Tuesday to inform local officials about the quarantine operation.

“The county had no choice,” Adams said. “It was state-mandated.”

While there is some anxiety being created by the news of surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, there has also been compassion locally for the former passengers. County officials said that people have offered to donate books and other materials to the people in quarantine.

“We want to remind everyone that the people in quarantine are Americans; they are Californians with families,” said County Administrative Officer Charles McKee.

As of Wednesday, county officials said they have little information on the conditions of those in quarantine, including whether they have been tested for COVID-19 or even if they are suffering any symptoms.

“We don’t have a lot of information on the patients,” said Elsa Mendoza Jimenez, the director of health for the county Health Department. She added that the incubation period for the virus is 14 days. “We do know that if anyone tests positive, they will be in strict isolation.”

The former passengers at Asilomar are being quarantined because they had been exposed to other passengers and consequently meet criteria established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As to why Asilomar was chosen as a quarantine site, county officials said it was part of a response plan all along. An email response from the California Department of Public Health Thursday was equally vague, saying passengers who do not require hospitalization but show mild symptoms of illness cannot be quarantined at military bases. But why Asilomar was chosen was not answered.

“The state and federal government identified Asilomar and a hotel in San Carlos as suitable locations for individuals to receive this care,” the response read.

Japan plans to give 300,000 yen in cash to households in need

TOKYO (Kyodo) - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his ruling Liberal Democratic Party agreed Friday that the government will provide 300,000 yen ($2,800) in cash to each household suffering from falling incomes amid the spread of the new chinavirus. About 10 million of Japan's 58 million households are expected to be eligible for the cash program, a key pillar of an emergency economic package that the government plans to compile possibly on Tuesday, according to officials with knowledge of the matter.

The government was initially considering giving 200,000 yen to each household in need, but the premier was in agreement with the proposal to raise the amount as he believes more drastic support is necessary, the officials said.

The cash program will be funded by a supplementary budget for this fiscal year that the government wants to pass in parliament before Japan's Golden Week holiday starts in early May.

The government will not set a household income limit for the cash handout, which will be tax-free, according to the officials.

3M issued the following statement in response to the announcements issued by the White House last evening:

Over the last several weeks and months, 3M and its employees have gone above and beyond to manufacture as many N95 respirators as possible for the U.S. market. Yesterday, the Administration formally invoked the Defense Production Act (DPA) to require 3M to prioritize orders from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for our N95 respirators.

We have been working closely with the Administration to do exactly that, and we appreciate the authorities in the DPA that provide a framework for us to expand even further the work we are doing in response to the global pandemic crisis. We look forward to working with FEMA to implement yesterday’s order.

In the course of our collaboration with the Administration this past weekend, the Administration requested that 3M increase the amount of respirators we currently import from our overseas operations into the U.S. We appreciate the assistance of the Administration to do exactly that. For example, earlier this week, we secured approval from China to export to the U.S. 10 million N95 respirators manufactured by 3M in China.

The Administration also requested that 3M cease exporting respirators that we currently manufacture in the United States to the Canadian and Latin American markets. There are, however, significant humanitarian implications of ceasing respirator supplies to healthcare workers in Canada and Latin America, where we are a critical supplier of respirators. In addition, ceasing all export of respirators produced in the United States would likely cause other countries to retaliate and do the same, as some have already done. If that were to occur, the net number of respirators being made available to the United States would actually decrease. That is the opposite of what we and the Administration, on behalf of the American people, both seek.

We also continue to act on reports of price gouging and unauthorized reselling related to 3M respirators. This activity is unethical and illegal. We are working with the U.S. Attorney General and attorneys general of every state, making it clear that 3M has not and will not raise prices for respirators and offering our assistance in the fight.

We look forward to working closely with the Administration to implement yesterday’s DPA order. We will continue to maximize the amount of respirators we can produce on behalf of U.S. healthcare workers, as we have every single day since this crisis began.

This marks Haspel’s second-consecutive Wash100 Award. She secured her previous Wash100 Award in 2019 for her efforts to improve the CIA as an intelligence service and diversifying the agency’s workforce.

The technology, known as geofencing, would disable MANPADS from use based on the weapon's location. A MANPADS missile beyond a certain geographic range would cease from functioning if geofencing is applied.

The security provided by geofencing technology may convince the U.S. to distribute powerful weapons more often, experts said. Geofencing may address cases in which lost missiles are sold or fallen into wrong hands.

Haspel has continued to add new technologies and networks to improve both the agency and national security since her appointment. The CIA launched an “onion site” on the Tor network designed to strengthen online security by allowing users to browse the agency’s website anonymously, the agency reported in May 2019.

“Our global mission demands that individuals can access us securely from anywhere. Creating an onion site is just one of many ways we’re going where people are,” the agency stated. The CIA’s Tor onion service will continue to work to protect the user’s IP address and browsing activity.

The technology has been integrated by bouncing encrypted internet traffic through several chains of devices to make that traffic untraceable. The agency said users need to download and install the Tor browser before they can navigate the website using the given onion address.

John Durham investigation intensifies focus on John Brennan

U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review of the Russia investigation is putting increased scrutiny on former CIA Director John Brennan, searching for any undue influence he may have had during 2017’s intelligence community assessment of Russian interference.

Durham, selected by Attorney General William Barr last year to lead this inquiry, drove to Washington, D.C., in March to ensure the investigation stayed on track during the coronavirus outbreak. The top Connecticut federal prosecutor is looking into highly sensitive issues, including whether Brennan took politicized actions to pressure the rest of the intelligence community to match his conclusions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

Officials said Durham has been interviewing CIA officials this year, zeroing in on those at the National Intelligence Council, a center within the Office of the Director of National Intelligence which oversaw the collaboration between the CIA, FBI, and National Security Agency in putting together the 2017 assessment, and looking at how the work product was finalized.

The 2017 assessment concluded with "high confidence" that Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016” and Russia worked to “undermine public faith" in U.S. democracy, "denigrate" former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and "harm her electability and potential presidency,” and “developed a clear preference" for Trump. The NSA diverged on one aspect, expressing only “moderate confidence” that Putin actively tried to help Trump win and Clinton lose.

JOHN SOLOMON: Mueller's Hidden Evidence - Translator Exonerated Don Jr. in Trump Tower Meeting, FBI Memos Show

Remember the infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Don Jr. and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya the media was hyperventilating over as proof of ‘Russian collusion’?

It turns out a little-known translator named Anatoli Samochornov provided exculpatory evidence to the feds, yet the FBI and Mueller’s team worked to conceal the information.

New FBI memos reveal that an eyewitness account by a Russian translator trusted by the US Department of State completely debunked the media’s narrative about the Trump Tower meeting.

The media reported that Donald Trump Jr. and other Trump camp associates met with Veselnitskaya after she promised “dirt” on Hillary Clinton.

Don Jr. insisted the meeting was short and that Veselnitskaya and her crew spent most of the time talking about the Magnitsky Act.

The FBI reported that the translator hired by Veselnitskaya backed up Don Jr.’s story — publicly however, the FBI accused Don Jr. of lying.

According to John Solomon, “The topic of discussion was the Magnitsky Act and related topics,” Samochornov told the agents, adding that Veselnitskya didn’t even do most of the talking. An American lobbyist provided the presentation, he said.

In Robert Mueller’s final report on the Russia investigation, a little-known translator named Anatoli Samochornov played a bit role, a witness sparsely quoted about the infamous Trump Tower meeting he attended in summer 2016 between Donald Trump Jr. and a mysterious Russian lawyer.

The most scintillating information Mueller’s team ascribed to Samochornov in the report was a tidbit suggesting a hint of impropriety: The translator admitted he was offered $90,000 by the Russians to pay his legal bills, if he supported the story of Moscow attorney Natalia Veselnitskya. He declined.

But recently released FBI memos show that Samochornov, a translator trusted by the State Department and other federal agencies, provided agents far more information than was quoted by Mueller, nearly all of it exculpatory to the president’s campaign and his eldest son.

Despite learning the translator’s information on July 12, 2017, just a few days after the media reported on the Trump Tower meeting, the FBI would eventually suggest Donald Trump Jr. was lying and that the event could be seminal to Russian election collusion.

Samochornov’s eyewitness account entirely debunks the media’s narrative, the FBI memos show.

“Samochornov was not particularly fond of Donald Trump Jr., but stated Donald Trump Jr.’s account with Veselnitskya as portrayed in recent media report, was accurate,” according to the FBI 302 report on its interview of the translator. “Samachornov concurred with Donald Trump Jr.’s accounts of the meeting. RFK's granddaughter disappeared on Thursday.

Two members of the Kennedy family, Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean and her 8-year-old son Gideon Joseph Kennedy McKean, have gone missing near Annapolis. According to the Washington Post, Maeve's husband David confirmed that his wife and son were canoeing on the Chesapeake Bay Thursday, and have not been seen since. Per the Post, he said they were chasing a ball that had gone out into the water. Maeve and Gideon “popped into a canoe to chase it down. They just got farther out then they could handle, and couldn’t get back in,” he said.

People reports that local authorities have also confirmed that a 40-year-old woman and 8-year-old boy went missing after they “appeared to be overtaken by the strong winds” while boating on Thursday. Maeve and Gideon were last spotted near Herring Bay, and according to the Baltimore Sun, "Anne Arundel County fire officials say a concerned citizen called 911 around 4:30 p.m. Thursday to report that he saw the woman and her son in a small canoe or kayak from the Columbia Beach community pier."

A canoe matching the description of the one they were paddling while missing has reportedly been recovered, but the search for Maeve and Gideon continues, and we will continue to update this store as more news becomes available. Maeve is the daughter of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. She is also the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and the grand-niece of President John F. Kennedy.

SpaceX’s Starship SN3 prototype rocket CRUMPLES like a tin can as it fails latest test

Billionaire Elon Musk’s latest SpaceX test has ended in disaster, with a rocket crumpling on the launch pad. The Starship SN3 prototype was undergoing cryogenic proof testing at the company’s facility in Boca Chica, Texas.

Musk’s team of rocket scientists had filled it with liquid nitrogen to check whether the spaceship would be able to handle the freezing temperatures and pressures of space. Footage posted to YouTube showed clouds of liquid nitrogen streaming out of the 30m x 9m silver cylinder before it crumpled like a tin can.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the SN3 had successfully completed a similar test conducted at ambient temperature before attempting this next stage.

Had the rocket passed the cryogenic test it would have then undergone a “static fire” test, in which its Raptor engines would have been fired at full thrust for a few seconds.

Elon Musk tweeted: “We will see what data review says in the morning, but this may have been a test configuration mistake.”

A previous test last November also ended badly, with the spaceship blowing its top at the same Texas test site.

The section of the ship being tested today was the “business end” of the rocket, designed to propel the upper part of the vehicle into orbit.

The craft consists of a spaceship, known as Starship, and a giant rocket called Super Heavy, both of which are intended to be completely reusable.

Musk’s dream is that the Super Heavy will launch Starship to Earth orbit, then come back down for a vertical landing. The upper Starship section, designed to carry up to 100 people, would then makes its way on to the Moon, Mars or some other space destination.

Putin Responds To Trump Oil Gambit: 10MM Production Cut "Possible" But US Needs To Join

Earlier today we said that ahead of Monday's (virtual) R-OPEC conference, a new ask had emerged from within the oil producing nations - any production cut would have to include the US, which alongside with Russia, Saudi Arabia and others R-OPEC nations, would to around 10 million b/d.

Then moments ago, Vladimir Putin confirmed just that. The Russian president said that he had spoken with US President Trump saying "we are all worried about the situation" and that he is "ready to act with the US on oil markets" with 10mmb/d in oil production needed to be cut, adding that cuts must be taken from Q1 2020 levels which was a jab at Saudi Arabia which is hoping to "cut" by 3 million b/d to go back to where it was in February. And by we, he meant the "we" that includes the US, because as he explained "joint actions" are required on oil markets, i.e., shale too.

Observing that the situation on global energy markets remains difficult and that demand is falling (by 26mmb/d according to Goldman), Putin said that he wants "long-term stability" of the oil market, and that he is comfortable with $42 oil.

The Russian president was also kind enough to summarize the reasons for the oil price collapse which he blamed on the coronavirus, the lack of oil demand and, drumroll, the Saudi withdrawal from the OPEC+ deal.

At this point Russia's energy minister Novak chimed in and explained what it would take to get such a cut: speaking to Putin, the Russian energy minister said it is necessary to cut oil production for everybody, including Saudi Arabia and the US, and that output should be cut for the next few months and gradually recovered thereafter.

Novak also said that Saudis are still negatively influencing oil market, and that oil storage could be filled for next 1.5 to 2 months only.

Finally, there was some speculation that Russia would not be present at next week's R-OPEC conference, so Novak defused any confusion, by confirming that the meeting is set for April 6th.

Sweden has decided to indefinitely delay its Aurora 20 military drills, after allies reportedly pulled out over the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. The Scandinavian nation's troops initially said it was against canceling the exercises.

The country's military announced on Friday that it would postpone the war games in response to the ongoing health crisis in Sweden and around the world. The drills, scheduled to be held from May 11 through June 4, were supposed to involve 25,000 participants, including 3,000 troops from twelve of Sweden's allies.

The decision to push back the exercises comes after, according to local media reports, Canada and Germany pulled out from the drills. It is said that Britain decided to substantially scale down its involvement, while Austria reportedly expressed uncertainty over whether it would be in attendance.

Sweden initially expressed unwillingness to reschedule the air, land and sea drills, even as allies announced that they would not participate as initially planned. The drills would have been Sweden's largest in more than twenty years.

The coronavirus pandemic has shut down many other military exercises throughout the world, including NATO's massive ‘Defender Europe 2020’ war games.

Unlike nearly all other countries hit by the virus, Sweden has resisted imposing quarantine measures. The country has argued that citizens should be allowed to exercise discretion, while urging the elderly and at-risk to stay home.

Apparently, two other anons had noticed the lack of notable posts during the previous bread and tried to alert the board. At the request of FEMA, the Department of Defense will expand its medical support to include COVID-19 positive patients at the Javits Federal Medical Station (FMS) in New York City, the Morial FMS in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the Kay Bailey Hutchinson FMS in Dallas, Texas.

These three DoD-supported locations will now provide support to COVID-19 positive patients in convalescent care, as well as low-acuity patients. These patients, who require a lower level of medical care, must first be screened at a local hospital.

Additionally, screening for care on the USNS Comfort will be modified and will now occur pier-side in an effort to reduce the backlog at some of the nearby New York hospitals. The screening effort for the USNS Comfort will no longer require a negative test, but each patient will still be screened by temperature and a short questionnaire.

This assistance will further unburden the local hospital and ambulance systems in these areas, allowing them to focus on the more serious COVID-19 cases. We will immediately implement this action and work with local officials in each area on the details of patient arrival.

We understand that introducing COVID-19 positive patients into the FMS environments elevates the risk of transmission to other patients and our medical providers. This decision was risk-informed and made to ensure that DoD can continue to provide these local communities the type of medical care they most need. Force health protection is a top priority and our medical professionals will have the required personal protective equipment needed for this mission.

Khalid Shaikh Mohammad et al., June 1-12.

Reporters are not required to stay for the entire duration of scheduled hearings. Flights between NSGB and Joint Base Andrews will be available the following Saturdays:

May 30 – Joint Base Andrews to NSGB

June 6 – both to and from NSGB

June 12 – NSGB to Joint Base Andrews

Media desiring to view this hearing from Naval Station Guantanamo Bay must complete the registration form. All requests must be received no later than noon EDT, Friday, April. 10. Multiple requesters from the same organization must register separately via the form.

Israel seals off ultra-Orthodox town hit hard by coronavirus

Israel put up roadblocks on Friday to seal off an ultra-Orthodox Jewish town badly affected by the coronavirus, but ordered in soldiers to support the residents.

Emergency regulations approved by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet late on Thursday declared Bnei Brak, near Tel Aviv, a “restricted zone” due to its high rate of infections. The new designation allows authorities to tighten curbs on public movement.

Police units, wearing surgical masks and gloves, moved swiftly early on Friday to cordon off major intersections around the town and enforce the new rules.

“Bnei Brak is on lockdown, as of this morning, and police will prevent any movements in or out of the city,” police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said. “People are only allowed in or out for medical reasons or medical support.”

Bnei Brak’s population, many of them choosing the study of scripture and traditional large families over a more worldly lifestyle, often live in very close proximity to one another in impoverished neighbourhoods. Some have heeded rabbis who, out of distrust for the state, spurned anti-virus measures.

Third time posting this. I hit 751 last thread, then accidently in ebake edition. Yes, infrequent poster here but MD Fag and I have something that I found that I think is huge

I stumbled onto data which shows ICD diagnostic codes on all deaths. We are being told 3000+ deaths in UK. The data says otherwise. Data updated weekly shows as of 2 weeks ago, 103 deaths in England/Wales with ICD codes linked to covid. THAT IS IT. 1500 deaths TOTAL or respiratory disease for that week.. That includes all comers so pneumonia, copd, etc etc. I think this might prove significant.

The last few weeks put everything in place for the last battle.

We live in exciting times.

The unknown that lays ahead for all of us is both exhilarating and scary. Exhilarating in the long term, but rather scary in the short term. All empires eventually die and we’re in the terminal phase of the New World Order that will not recover from the Russian roulette game it has been playing, for Vladimir Putin handed it a loaded gun and it pulled the trigger.

The last few weeks put everything in place for the last battle. There are so many different facts and events, left and right, and I will try to do my best to remain methodical in this complicated expose. Bare with me, I’ve been struggling for three weeks with this article because of the insane amount of additional details that each day provides. It might have been a wrong time to quit smoking, but I enjoy a good challenge.

Dropping dollars

A little context is required. The New World Order concept is simply the wish of a handful of international bankers that want to economically and politically rule the whole planet as one happy family. It started in 1773 and if it went through important changes over the years, but the concept and objective haven’t changed an iota. Unfortunately for them, international banks that have been looting the planet through the US dollar since 1944 are now threatened by hyperinflation, as their printing machine has been rotating for years to cover their absurd spendings to sustain oil and resource wars that they’ve all ultimately lost. In order to prevent this upcoming hyperinflation, they generated a virus attack on four countries (China, Iran, Italy and now the United States) to spread panic in the population, with the precious help of their ignominious medias. Even though this corona virus isn’t different from any new viruses that attack humans every year, the media scare pushed people to voluntarily isolate themselves through fear and terror. Some lost their jobs, companies are going bankrupt, the panic created a stock exchange crash that emptied wallets and dried assets, resulting in a few trillion virtual dollars off the market to release pressure off the currency.

So far, so good, but everything else went wrong in this desperate and ultimate banzai. The top virologist on the planet confirmed that chloroquine was being used by the Chinese with spectacular results to cure patients, then he improved his magic potion by adding a pneumonic antibacterial called azythromicin, and saved everyone of his first 1000 cases, but one. Donald Trump immediately imposed the same treatment through a fight against his own Federal Drug Administration, bought and owned by the deep state. This forced all medias to talk about Dr Didier Raoult’s Miracle Elixir, signing the death warrant on our confidence in all Western governments, their medical agencies, the World Health Organization, and medias that were trying to destroy the impeccable doctor’s reputation, while inventing sudden «dangerous side effects» of a nearly inoffensive drug that has been used for 60 years to treat malaria. Not so far away in Germany, internationally praised Dr Wolfgand Wodarg noted that the engineered panic was totally useless, since this virus isn’t any different than the others that affect us every years. This has been an amazing victory for Trump and the general population on social medias, whom exposed together the pathological lies of the official communication channels of every New World Order country. De facto, the credibility’s of these puppet governments have vanished in the air, and from the eye of the storm, Italy will surely exit the EU right after the crisis, which will trigger a domino effect running through every EU countries and NATO members. After three years in power, Trump has finally fulfilled his electoral promise of taking private banks out of the US public affairs, ending a century of exploitation of the American citizens. He has put the infamous Blackrock investment group to start buying important corporations for the Fed, meaning that he’s nationalizing chunks of the economy, while avoiding the crash of the market by implicating important private investors in the deal.

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. International flights evacuating Russian national from foreign countries will be stopped from 00:00 Moscow time on April 4, the coronavirus response headquarters said on Friday.

"In order to ensure maximum protection of people’s health and prevent a new wave of imported coronavirus cases in Russia, international flights evacuating Russian nationals will be temporarily suspended from 00:00 Moscow time on April 4, 2020," it said.

The Russian government will also elaborate a schedule for evacuating those Russian nationals who are stuck in foreign countries amid the coronavirus pandemic. "Russian nationals who have provided necessary data will be offered social assistance during their stay in foreign countries," the headquarters said.

Apart from that, their visas will be extended. "If need be, documents under which our nationals are staying abroad will be extended," it said.

It also said that the Russian government had allocated 500 million rubles (6.52 million US dollars) to the Russian foreign ministry to provide accommodation to Russian nationals stuck in foreign countries.

As of April 3, a total of 4,149 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Russia. As many as 282 patients have recovered. According to data as of 10:30 Moscow time, thirty-four patients died. Moscow accounts for the majority of cases (2,923). The Russian government set up an Internet hotline to keep the public informed about the coronavirus situation.

Polio eradication is a historic event that is on the verge of being the next major victory in public health

Osaka, Japan, May 9, 2016 – Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited [TSE: 4502], (“Takeda”) today announced a partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support global polio eradication in developing countries. With this funding, Takeda will develop, license and supply at least 50 million doses per year of Sabin-strain inactivated poliovirus vaccine (sIPV) to more than 70 developing countries. The vaccine will be manufactured at Takeda’s facility in Hikari, Japan. This effort is aligned with Takeda’s strategy to utilize innovation and partnerships to address critical unmet needs in global public health, and the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations in September 2015.

Christophe Weber, President and CEO of Takeda said: “Takeda is honored to partner with the Gates Foundation to support the polio endgame. This represents a major commitment by a Japanese company to the health of children in developing countries around the world.”

Under the terms of the agreement, the Gates Foundation will provide a $38 million grant to Takeda to leverage its innovative vaccine manufacturing platform to develop and license a safe and effective Sabin-strain inactivated polio vaccine, and make at least 50 million doses per year available at an affordable price for developing countries receiving Gavi support. Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, brings together public and private sectors with the shared goal of creating equal access to new and underused vaccines for children living in the world’s poorest countries. Takeda’s sIPV was originally licensed from the Japan Polio Research Institute, which is now a part of BIKEN.

The Army Corps of Engineers is working to stand up at least 25,000 hospital beds

As the number of COVID-19 infections in the U.S. has surpasses the 200,000 mark, states and cities are scrambling to come up with the bed space to treat not only coronavirus but the everyday illnesses and injuries that already stress hospitals’ capacity.

Over the past week, the Army Corps of Engineers has awarded eight contracts to build space for about 10,000 beds, its commanding general told reporters Friday, including the conversation of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City and the McCormick Place Convention Center.

“I have said several times: This is an incredibly complicated situation,” Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite said. “We need a very, very simple solution.”

What has emerged is a plan that can be shared and scaled across the U.S., he said, converting convention centers, arenas, dormitories and hotels into medical centers, tailoring each site to treat infectious or non-infectious conditions based on the local need.

Those include State University New York at Stony Brook and Westbury, Westchester Community College in New York state and TCF Center in Detroit, with a mix of facilities designated for treating COVID and non-COVID patients.

Authorities on Friday charged a teenager with the slayings of a University of Wisconsin doctor and her husband who were found “lying in a ditch” at a Madison research and recreation area this week.

the UW School of Medicine and Public Health said Potter spoke French and Spanish and “approached the practice of family medicine with tremendous compassion, earning the respect of patients and colleagues alike.”

Khari Sanford, an 18-year-old “known to the family,” was charged Friday with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the deaths of Dr. Beth Potter, 52, and Robin Carre, 57, whose bodies were discovered Tuesday.

Carre was an education consultant who ran a business called Carre College Coaching. He was also previously an adjunct history professor at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and served as a former coaching director at a youth Madison soccer organization, Regent Soccer Club.

The police are given the opportunity to compel coughing and spitting suspects to give up cheek mucus so that they can be tested for the corona virus. The Council of Ministers has approved a bill to make this possible.

Recently, several people have been convicted who coughed on purpose towards officers. 'Literally on the tarmac': Russia prevents Americans in Moscow from flying home

Russian officials prevented the departure of a commercial passenger jet carrying Americans “anxious to get home” as the coronavirus pandemic worsens in both countries, according to State Department officials. “It was literally on the tarmac, taxiing, when it was denied permission to take off,” said Ian Brownlee, who is coordinating State Department efforts to repatriate Americans stranded overseas. "The Russian government apparently denied it permission to take off.”

The unexpected cancellation took place Friday on the same day that at least one of Moscow’s three international airports announced that it is closing its “international flights gallery” in response to a “shutdown of air service with foreign nations.” The decision blindsided U.S. diplomats in Moscow, who had spent the hours leading up to the scheduled departure alerting Americans that they had the option to book a ticket on that flight. “The flight was full of US citizens anxious to get home,” U.S Embassy Moscow spokeswoman Rebecca Ross tweeted Friday. “We are awaiting an explanation from the Russian Federation. We continue to work to find ways to help US citizens return home.” The coronavirus pandemic has necessitated a global evacuation effort, with roughly 37,000 Americans returning to the United States from overseas before a wave of travel restrictions makes it impossible to do so. About 17,000 of those people flew home on “commercial rescue flights” coordinated between the State Department and U.S.-based airlines.

“Our U.S. Embassy and consulates supported by our economic team across the world secured the landing permits and special permissions after those countries closed their borders and airspace, and we got those permissions for these new commercial rescue flights,” Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Hugo Yon told reporters Friday. “These commercial rescue flights met repatriation needs in many countries, freeing up the bandwidth of the department to focus on the U.S.-government funded charters on the most difficult locations where airspace, border closures, and internal curfews have been the most severe,” he added.

Aeroflot, which operates the canceled flight, is owned by the Russian government. Russia has more than 4,100 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 34 deaths attributed to the infectious disease. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Thursday that a "nationwide nonwork week" will continue until at least April 30. Russia is also expected to "halt flights returning its nationals from abroad after midnight Saturday," according to local media. U.S. Embassy officials are trying to arrange charter flights for the Americans stranded by the Friday cancellation. “This will require the coordination and approval of the Government of the Russian Federation,” Ross tweeted Friday. “This can be a complex process and may require several days to accomplish.”

Brownlee, the second-highest-ranking official in the Bureau of Consular Affairs, reiterated his recommendation that Americans who are currently overseas register with the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program and return to the U.S. as soon as possible unless they are prepared to stay abroad indefinitely. “With regard to Russia, this is a good example of what we've been saying, that people should avail themselves of existing commercial opportunities because they do go away at some point,” said Brownlee. “We have not had to repatriate people from Russia until now.”

As researchers around the world race to produce a vaccine for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, Bill Gates’ private foundation is taking an aggressive approach to the trials by funneling billions of dollars across seven factories that will each test promising vaccine candidates.

Gates appeared on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” on Thursday for a 22-minute interview regarding the novel coronavirus and revealed to host Trevor Noah that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is committed to working against time when it comes to finding a vaccine.

The Microsoft co-founder explained that instead of tackling vaccine candidates one-by-one, a total of seven options would be concurrently investigated at separate factories to accelerate the research process.

"Even though we'll end up picking - at most - two of them, we're going to fund factories for all seven, just so that we don't waste time in serially saying, 'OK, which vaccine works?' and then building the factory," he told Noah.

"It'll be a few billion dollars we'll waste on manufacturing for the constructs that don't get picked because something else is better.”

Examining it from an economic perspective, Gates argued that spending a few billion from the foundation for the sake of time is “worth it,” considering the fact that “trillions of dollars” are at stake.

“Our foundation, we can get that bootstrapped and get it going, and save months, because every month counts,” he said, highlighting that his foundation has less red tape and procedural hoops to jump through than federal health agencies.

Earlier this week, the foundation’s COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator initiative awarded $20 million grants to the University of Washington, University of Oxford and La Jolla Institute for Immunology “to fund clinical trials in order to identify highly potent immunotherapies for the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“These initial investments through the COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator will bring rigor to the study of these potential solutions. The way forward will be informed by sound science and shared data,” Mark Suzman, chief executive officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, said in the March 30 release.

Another COVID-19 Lie Exposed - Los Angeles Health Officials Caught Lying About Teenager's Death Linked to Coronavirus

The fraudstreammedia ran searing headlines about the boy’s death which was described as the first known “juvenile” to die from the Coronavirus in the US.

Well it turns out this story was a lie.

California health officials are now saying they are reevaluating the teen’s death claiming the case is “complex” and needs to be further investigated.

A couple weeks ago it was reported the teen’s parents took their son to an urgent care because he was suffering from a respiratory illness.

The couple was supposedly turned away for not having insurance so they took their son to an emergency room.

The teen was tested for Coronavirus at the ER and his parents were told they were all infected with the virus even though the parents had not been tested.

But after initially reporting the boy died from the Coronavirus, the Los Angeles health officials are refusing to disclose more details citing ‘privacy concerns.’

CNN reported: In a statement, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said it’s looking into the case further. “Though early tests indicated a positive result for Covid-19, the case is complex and there may be an alternate explanation for this fatality. Patient privacy prevents our offering further details at this time,” it said in a statement.

The teenage boy has been dropped from the list of deaths from the Coronavirus in Los Angeles and the CDC will complete the investigation into the boy’s death.

Duterte Orders Philippine Police To Shoot Dead Virus-Lockdown Violators

The Philippines could be on the brink of social chaos, sparked because the virus pandemic forced the government to lockdown 57 million residents, many of which are living in poverty and left jobless in the last month. Social unrest broke out mid-week in a Manila slum as food and health equipment are in short supply, reported AFP.

DZRH, Manila Broadcasting Company, posted a chilling video of the social unrest, as low-income folks clashed with government forces during the quarantine.

While other reports suggest social unrest could soon erupt in the country, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte made it very clear on government media on April 1 that police will shot any citizen defying the public health order to shelter-in-place.

Five states currently conduct all elections entirely by mail: Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Utah. At least 21 other states have laws that allow certain smaller elections, such as school board contests, to be conducted by mail. For these elections, all registered voters receive a ballot in the mail. The voter marks the ballot, puts it in a secrecy envelope or sleeve and then into a separate mailing envelope, signs an affidavit on the exterior of the mailing envelope, and returns the package via mail or by dropping it off.

Ballots are mailed out well ahead of Election Day, and thus voters have an “election period,” not just a single day, to vote. All-mail elections can be thought of as absentee voting for everyone. This system is also referred to as “vote by mail.”

While “all-mail elections” means that every registered voter receives a ballot by mail, this does not preclude in-person voting opportunities on and/or before Election Day. For example, despite the fact that all registered voters in Colorado are mailed a ballot, voters can choose to cast a ballot at an in-person vote center during the early voting period or on Election Day (or drop off, or mail, their ballot back).

Generally, states begin with providing all-mail elections only in certain circumstances, and then add additional opportunities as citizens become familiar with procedures. Oregon’s vote-by-mail timeline includes four times that the legislature acted prior to the 1998 citizens’ vote that made Oregon the first all-mail election state.
