"The Department of Energy unveiled a heavily anticipated, scaled-back regulation Monday to cut greenhouse gas emissions from stovetop cooking in the U.S., going with a compromise that pleased gas stove producers and environmentalists alike. Stoves that consume 1,770 thousand British thermal units per year of gas will be permitted under the new regulation, which aligns with a compromise floated last year by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers and the environmental group Appliance Standards Awareness Project. That’s a much more flexible regulation than the 1,204-kBtu threshold initially proposed by DOE.

Along with a rulemaking process at the Consumer Product Safety Commission that could potentially restrict American access to gas stoves, critics said federal rules on gas stoves represents a federal infringement on American lives. Lawmakers introduced legislation to prohibit gas stove action at DOE and the CPSC. DOE said the regulation would only impact 3 percent of gas stoves on the market. The regulation is set to take effect in early 2028.

The American Gas Association did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday. The industry group is suing DOE to block a separate rule on gas furnaces."

Fani Willis Hit With Surprise: 22 Counts of Impeachment

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was hit with more bad news a few days ago after articles of impeachment against her were officially filed in the Georgia State Legislature.

Last Friday, House Resolution 872 was submitted to the Georgia General Assembly by state Rep. Charlice Byrd. This resolution accuses Ms. Willis of using her office not to pursue justice, but rather for political gain.

The resolution has 22 specific articles of impeachment, with each one of them being an alleged violation of Georgia Code 16-10-1, which states that “any public officer who willfully and intentionally violates the terms of his oath as prescribed by law shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by imprisonment for not less than one nor more than five years.”

Fani Willis: Georgia prosecutor hits back at critics after misconduct claims

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has publicly hit back at critics as she faces allegations of having an affair with a prosecutor from her election fraud case against former President Donald Trump.

In a speech on Sunday at a historic Atlanta church, the Georgia prosecutor said she was "flawed" and "imperfect". Ms Willis is accused of having an improper relationship with an attorney she has called a "great friend".

She blamed the criticisms on race.

It was the first time Ms Willis, Fulton County's first black female district attorney, made any public comment even hinting at the allegations since they first appeared in a court filing on 8 January.

In the filing, lawyers for Michael Roman, one of the 19 co-defendants in the Georgia election interference case, accused Ms Willis of engaging "in a personal, romantic relationship" with a lead prosecutor on the case.

Mr Roman asked the judge to dismiss his indictment, saying in the filing that Ms Willis "personally benefited" from the relationship. He also said the judge should disqualify Ms Willis from further prosecutions because she allegedly defrauded the public with an "intentional failure" to disclose her relationship.

The lawyers alleged the special prosecutor hired by Ms Willis' office, Nathan Wade, had a "lack of relevant experience" but has been paid roughly $650,000 (£510,705) in legal fees since being appointed.

And, according to the court filing, Mr Wade and Ms Willis took lavish vacations together on cruises and to places like California and the Caribbean.

Mr Trump's attorney said in court on Friday that they are considering joining the complaint.

While speaking at the Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church during a service celebrating Martin Luther King Jr Day, Ms Willis did not mention Mr Wade by name or address the allegations of having an improper relationship.

She focused her roughly 30-minute remarks on the role she felt race has played in the accusations, while defending Mr Wade's credentials.

Ms Willis said she was "a little confused" why so many questioned her decision to bring in multiple special prosecutors to the case and asked if her critics were "playing the race card".

"I appointed three special counsellors. It's my right to do. Paid them all the same hourly rate," Ms Willis said.

"They only attacked one," she said, adding that the other two outside lawyers were white.

Ms Willis also used her speech to detail her difficulties with the rampant racism she said she has faced since taking on the case. (No one would ever abuse a prosecutor in GA, she’s a liar like Joe)

"I am tired of being treated cruelly," Ms Willis said, describing feelings of "isolation", "loneliness" and death threats that have forced her from her home.

A spokesperson for Ms Willis' office has said a direct response to the allegations will be made in a court filing soon.Ashleigh Merchant, Mr Roman's attorney, denied Ms Willis' allegations that race was a factor.. Ms Merchant said: "This has nothing to do with the colour of [Nathan Wade's] skin."

The court filing by Ms Merchant does not provide any direct evidence to support her client's claims and only cites "sources with knowledge".

Ms Merchant has said that she cannot share details until Mr Wade's divorce records are unsealed.

“Central Park 5” City Councilman Yusef Salaam says police stopped him without explanation as he drove with his family through Harlem on Friday night — an incident that comes as the City Council plans an override vote on Mayor Adams’ veto of a bill that would require cops to document their street stops.

Salaam said he “was listening in to a call with my Council colleagues on speakerphone” when he was stopped. Police video of the stop shows he was pulled over about 6:20 p.m. on W. 125th St. near 12th Ave., just east of the elevated West Side Highway.

“I introduced myself as Councilman Yusef Salaam, and subsequently asked the officer why I was pulled over,” Salaam said in a statement. “Instead of answering my question, the officer stated, ‘We’re done here,’ and proceeded to walk away.”

Police said the officer Salaam complained about “conducted himself professionally and respectfully.”

Body-worn camera video showed the encounter differed from Salaam’s recollection, and does not show Salaam asking the officer why he was stopped.

It was dark outside as the officer approached Salaam’s blue BMW. He clearly identified himself as from the 26th Precinct, but his name was not audible on the video, and the Police Department did not identify him in its statement.

“I’m Council member Salaam,” Salaam said.

“Oh, Council member?” the officer replied.

“District 9,” Salaam said.

“Oh, OK. Have a good one,” the officer said. He immediately stepped away from the car.

“Everything OK?” Salaam asked as the officer stepped away.

The officer answered: “Yep. You’re working, right?”

Salaam’s brief reply was not audible. “Take care, Sir,” the officer responded.

The officer’s partner also approached Salaam’s car on the passenger side, the video shows. The video shows people were in the car’s front passenger and back seats, but their faces were blurred. The entire interaction lasted less than 40 seconds.

Police said Salaam’s car had a Georgia license plate, and was stopped because officers believed its windows were tinted too dark, possibly in violation of New York motor vehicle law. In a statement, the Police Department said the officer who approached Salaam “followed all proper procedures, including procedures that were put in place after Detective Russel Timoshenko was shot and killed through tinted windows in 2007.”

The officers also filed a vehicle stop report, which the Police Department posted on X with the video and its statement.

On April 5, 1991, former Sen. John Tower, R-Texas, and 22 others were killed in a commuter plane crash in Brunswick, Ga.

April 5 (UPI) - On this date in history:

In 1614, Pocahontas, daughter of a chief, married English tobacco planter John Rolfe in Jamestown, Va. It was a marriage that ensured peace between the settlers and the Powhatan Indians for several years.

In 1768, the first U.S. Chamber of Commerce was founded in New York City.

In 1792, President George Washington exercised veto power, the first time it was done in the United States.

In 1933, Executive Order 6101 establishing the Civilian Conservation Corps was issued by President Franklin Roosevelt. The public work relief program would run from 1933 to 1942 and provide employment for unemployed and unmarried men as part of the New Deal.

In 1951, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were sentenced to death in New York for stealing atomic secrets for the Soviet Union. They were executed on June 20, 1953.

"Many have compared Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation with that of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in 1991. But not long before that, there was another Washington appointment held up by sexual harassment allegations, this one involving a Texan. John Tower was a four-term U.S. senator from Houston when, in 1989, George H.W. Bush nominated him to be Secretary of Defense.

Walter Shapiro, a lecturer in political science at Yale, remembers this episode well. He’s also a columnist for Roll Call and he wrote about the John Tower confirmation process.

When his confirmation process began, Tower looked “good on paper.” Shapiro says Tower was a hawkish defense expert and a former four-term U.S. senator. His nomination wasn’t seen as particularly divisive. Despite all this, the nomination process unraveled, in part, because of Tower’s substance use problems.

“Tower had major alcohol problems, which his Senate colleagues knew very well,” Shapiro says. And that was a problem during the waning days of the Cold War, because senators worried that Tower could put the country’s safety in jeopardy if he was inebriated, and had to make life-and-death decisions.

Shapiros says Tower also had a reputation as a womanizer.

“John Tower had a reputation around Capitol Hill as someone a woman – unless maybe she’s in a wheelchair over the age of 90 – would never dare to share an elevator with,” Shapiro says. “He was a bottom-pincher, a skirt-chaser, in the parlance of those days.”

Beyond that, Shapiro says Tower’s colleagues just didn’t like him, so they weren’t willing to defend his nomination.

“He was a veteran senator who was arrogant, off-putting to his colleagues and despite all the deference that senators normally give to former colleagues, he got none of it,” Shapiro says.

Looking back, Shapiro says the allegations of sexual misconduct against Tower were highly politicized; adversaries used them as a weapon. But he says the allegations didn’t lead to much change in the larger culture.

“Both with Tower, and then with the Anita Hill-Clarence Thomas hearings, sexual harassment became a major issue, and then it sort of vanished into the mists until the #MeToo movement,” Shapiro says.

Now, during the Kavanaugh confirmation process, Shapiro says lawmakers are taking sexual harassment and misconduct much more seriously because of the #MeToo movement. He says Sen. Al Franken resigned last year after being accused of sexual behavior that was less egregious than what Kavanaugh has been accused of.

“That fact has been unmentioned during these hearings. In fact, Al Franken would have been on the Senate Judiciary Committee had he not resigned,” Shapiro says."

SLIM Lands on the Moon

New landers are on the Moon. Nearly two weeks ago, Japan's Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) released two rovers as it descended, before its main lander touched down itself. The larger of the two rovers can hop like a frog, while the smaller rover is about the size of a baseball and can move after pulling itself apart like a transformer. The main lander, nicknamed Moon Sniper, is seen in the featured image taken by the smaller rover. Inspection of the image shows that Moon Sniper's thrusters are facing up, meaning that the lander is upside down from its descent configuration and on its side from its intended landing configuration. One result is that Moon Sniper's solar panels are not in the expected orientation, so that powering the lander had to be curtailed and adapted. SLIM's lander has already succeeded as a technology demonstration, its main mission, but was not designed to withstand the lunar night - which starts tomorrow.

NASA’s Webb Depicts Staggering Structure in 19 Nearby Spiral Galaxies

It’s oh-so-easy to be absolutely mesmerized by these spiral galaxies. Follow their clearly defined arms, which are brimming with stars, to their centers, where there may be old star clusters and – sometimes – active supermassive black holes. Only NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope can deliver highly detailed scenes of nearby galaxies in a combination of near- and mid-infrared light – and a set of these images was publicly released today.

These Webb images are part of a large, long-standing project, the Physics at High Angular resolution in Nearby GalaxieS (PHANGS) program, which is supported by more than 150 astronomers worldwide. Before Webb took these images, PHANGS was already brimming with data from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, the Very Large Telescope’s Multi-Unit Spectroscopic Explorer, and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, including observations in ultraviolet, visible, and radio light. Webb’s near- and mid-infrared contributions have provided several new puzzle pieces.

“Webb’s new images are extraordinary,” said Janice Lee, a project scientist for strategic initiatives at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore. “They’re mind-blowing even for researchers who have studied these same galaxies for decades. Bubbles and filaments are resolved down to the smallest scales ever observed, and tell a story about the star formation cycle.”

Excitement rapidly spread throughout the team as the Webb images flooded in. “I feel like our team lives in a constant state of being overwhelmed – in a positive way – by the amount of detail in these images,” added Thomas Williams, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Webb’s NIRCam (Near-Infrared Camera) captured millions of stars in these images, which sparkle in blue tones. Some stars are spread throughout the spiral arms, but others are clumped tightly together in star clusters.

The telescope’s MIRI (Mid-Infrared Instrument) data highlights glowing dust, showing us where it exists around and between stars. It also spotlights stars that haven’t yet fully formed – they are still encased in the gas and dust that feed their growth, like bright red seeds at the tips of dusty peaks. “These are where we can find the newest, most massive stars in the galaxies,” said Erik Rosolowsky, a professor of physics at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

Something else that amazed astronomers? Webb’s images show large, spherical shells in the gas and dust. “These holes may have been created by one or more stars that exploded, carving out giant holes in the interstellar material,” explained Adam Leroy, a professor of astronomy at the Ohio State University in Columbus.

Now, trace the spiral arms to find extended regions of gas that appear red and orange. “These structures tend to follow the same pattern in certain parts of the galaxies,” Rosolowsky added. “We think of these like waves, and their spacing tells us a lot about how a galaxy distributes its gas and dust.” Study of these structures will provide key insights about how galaxies build, maintain, and shut off star formation.

Evidence shows that galaxies grow from inside out – star formation begins at galaxies’ cores and spreads along their arms, spiraling away from the center. The farther a star is from the galaxy’s core, the more likely it is to be younger. In contrast, the areas near the cores that look lit by a blue spotlight are populations of older stars.

What about galaxy cores that are awash in pink-and-red diffraction spikes? “That’s a clear sign that there may be an active supermassive black hole,” said Eva Schinnerer, a staff scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, Germany. “Or, the star clusters toward the center are so bright that they have saturated that area of the image.”

There are many avenues of research that scientists can begin to pursue with the combined PHANGS data, but the unprecedented number of stars Webb resolved are a great place to begin. “Stars can live for billions or trillions of years,” Leroy said. “By precisely cataloging all types of stars, we can build a more reliable, holistic view of their life cycles.”

In addition to immediately releasing these images, the PHANGS team has also released the largest catalog to date of roughly 100,000 star clusters. “The amount of analysis that can be done with these images is vastly larger than anything our team could possibly handle,” Rosolowsky emphasized. “We’re excited to support the community so all researchers can contribute.”

A "decision" has been made, apparently, with CBS reporting: "Biden tells reporters that he has decided on how to respond to the attack that killed US troops in Jordan." And Sky News writes, 'Moment of no return approaching' as Biden weighs retaliation for soldier deaths.

Additionally, Biden said the White House sees Iran as responsible for supplying the weapons used in the drone strike on the Tower 22 base along the Jordan-Syria border, an attack which also saw over 40 American troops injured.

Admin officials have repeatedly asserted they do not seek wider war with Iran, even while direct accusations fly against Tehran, and there's talk of military 'options' and warlike threats go over the airwaves.

...because "pressure," writes Bloomberg: "US President Joe Biden faces intensifying pressure to confront Iran directly after the country’s proxies killed three American soldiers in a drone strike in Jordan over the weekend, risking precisely the wider regional conflict that he’s trying to avoid."

"A person familiar with the US position, who asked not to be identified discussing private discussions, said it was clear that a strike — which also wounded at least 34 — would force a stronger response than what the US has done so far in the weeks," continues Bloomberg.

Currently, the reporting consensus seems to be that Biden will order major strikes against various Iranian 'proxy' positions especially in Iraq and Syria. In the immediate aftermath of the Sunday drone attack on the US Tower 22 base, there were reports that Iran-aligned militias were temporarily evacuating bases in the region.

In recent weeks there has been a slew of protests in France, a major agricultural producer, by farmers angry about incomes, red tape and environmental policies they say undermine their ability to compete with other countries.

Protesting farmers started the operation by blocking the A13 highway to the west of the capital, the A4 to the east and the A6 on which hundreds of tractors rolled towards Paris from the south. The government in response has deployed some 15,000 police officers.

By mid-afternoon they appeared to have met their objective of establishing eight chokepoints on major roads into Paris, according to Sytadin, a traffic monitoring service.

'We need answers,' said Karine Duc, a farmer in the southwestern Lot-et-Garonne department as she joined a convoy of tractors heading for Paris. 'This is the final battle for farming. It's a question of survival,' she added.

The Department of Child Protection (DCP) must pay compensation and medical expenses to a youth worker who developed pericarditis after getting a Covid booster under a workplace vaccination directive, the South Australian Employment Tribunal has ruled.

In a decision handed down on 15 January 2024, the Tribunal determined that Daniel Shepherd’s employment was "a significant contributing cause" to his injury, which has since rendered him incapable of performing his role at work.

Shepherd got a Covid booster in February 2022 as a requirement for his ongoing employment with the DCP. The DCP admitted that Shepherd’s pericarditis had been caused by the booster, but denied responsibility for the injury, arguing that it did not arise from Shepherd’s employment, but from a lawful State Government Public Health Order (PHO), issued under the Emergency Management Act 2004 (EMA).

However, the Tribunal rejected the DCP’s argument, deciding that because the injury arose as a result of both the state-directed vaccination mandate and his employment, Mr Shepherd was entitled to workers compensation.

“This is a good decision” says human rights lawyer Peter Fam, of Sydney law firm Maat’s Method, noting that it sets an important precedent for holding employers accountable for injuries incurred as a result of vaccination directives enforced in the workplace.

“The most significant aspect of this case, in my opinion, is that even though there was a Public Health Order in place, the Tribunal found the employer responsible anyway,” says Fam.

Many Australian employers have sought to deflect responsibility for injuries incurred under workplace Covid vaccine directives on the basis that they were simply following state government orders.

However, under workers compensation law, the workplace is liable if employment is “a significant contributing cause of the injury,” regardless of whether other factors also contributed, explains Fam.

Therefore, despite the PHO stipulating that the worker must be vaccinated as a part of his employment, “the Tribunal still found that the injury he suffered as a result of the vaccine was sufficiently related to his work and his employment for him to be compensated by the employer.”

Dr Rado Faletic, a vaccine-injured scientist and Co-Founder/Director of Covid vaccine injury support charity COVERSE, says that the Tribunal decision sends “a clear signal to employers that they have a duty of care to their employees regardless of what governments impose upon them.”

Yet, many Covid vaccine injured Australians are still falling through the cracks, says Dr Faletic.

China Ramps Up Pressure on Taiwan With Warship Deployment

China is reportedly maintaining a constant military presence around Taiwan, with four warships strategically deployed in various directions.

These actions, as reported by the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun on Monday, citing official sources, have brought to attention the security situation around Taiwan, which remains in flux.

Taiwan's Ministry of Defense said on Saturday that the People's Liberations Army's 33 PLA aircraft and 6 PLAN vessels entered Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone, out of which 13 aircraft crossed the median line.

On January 24, the USS John Finn transited through the Taiwan Strait, which the U.S. Navy described as its "commitment to upholding freedom of navigation for all nations,"

The median line is the artificial line that separates Taiwan from the Chinese mainland, Beijing's aircraft have increasingly crossed the median line over the last two years.

According to the report, China's four warships are in critical locations around Taiwan and its neighboring territories. One warship is stationed near Yonaguni Island in Okinawa Prefecture, the westernmost tip of Japan, while another is positioned between Yonaguni Island and the Philippines, Yomiuri Shimbun reported.

Additionally, one warship is located in the waters southwest of Taiwan and another in the north of the island. Furthermore, one ship is permanently deployed to the northwest of the Senkaku Islands, which are the subject of territorial disputes between Japan and China.

The deployment of these warships carries significant implications for the security of Taiwan and the surrounding region. Yoji Koda, a former commander of the Self-Defense Fleet, emphasized the need for Japan to remain vigilant, stating, "If Japan is left with an opening, there is a strong possibility that China will use force to intervene in the Senkaku Islands in the future. Japan must be fully prepared."

The situation is particularly concerning around the Senkaku Islands, which are enclosed on three sides by Chinese warships. China asserts its territorial claims over these islands, viewing them as an integral part of Taiwan.

Experts have raised the possibility that any Chinese military action against Taiwan could lead to an incident involving the Senkaku Islands, further complicating the already tense situation in the region.

In August 2022, China conducted a significant military exercise, launching ballistic missiles in all directions around Taiwan. These missiles landed near the Senkaku Islands and within Japan's exclusive economic zone south of Yonaguni Island, Newsweek previously reported. Such actions have only added to the growing concerns regarding China's military presence and intentions in the East China Sea.

Speaking at the Pacific Forum in Honolulu, Hawaii, on January 26, Admiral John C. Aquilino expressed apprehension about China's coercive pressure campaign against Taiwan, especially in the wake of recent elections.

"The coercive pressure campaign against Taiwan continues, and we're watching it in the wake of the elections. I'm not sure what they're going to do, but I expect some demonstration of force against Taiwan in the near term," Aquilino said.

Recent incidents have seen China's naval activities escalate. A report from Newsweek on December 12, 2023, indicated that the Chinese People's Liberation Army sailed an aircraft carrier southward through the Taiwan Strait, sparking concerns about regional tensions. Taiwan's Defense Ministry closely monitored these movements and expressed its readiness to respond as necessary.

The situation has further intensified with the reported incursions of balloons into Taiwan's airspace. An animated map compiled by Newsweek highlighted the paths of 58 such balloons crossing the Taiwan Strait's median line since December 7, 2023. Nearly half of these balloons had violated Taiwan's territorial airspace, including some flying over the island.

Exclusive-Hotelier Robert Bigelow gives Trump $1 million for legal fees, to donate $20 million more

(Reuters) -Hotelier Robert Bigelow told Reuters on Tuesday he gave Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump $1 million for his legal fees and agreed to donate another $20 million to a pro-Trump outside group for campaign purposes.

"I gave him $1 million towards his legal fees a few weeks ago. I made a promise to give him $20 million more, that will be to the super PAC," Bigelow said in an interview.

Trump faces four pending criminal cases this year, including two over his efforts to reverse his 2020 presidential election loss, one over his handling of classified documents upon leaving office and another over his hush money payments to a porn star.

Bigelow said he felt Trump was being unfairly targeted in the criminal cases, and that his sympathy towards Trump had motivated the donation. The Justice Department says it acts without political bias.

Bigelow's major donation, which had not been previously reported, shows how Trump can still count on certain deep-pocketed donors as he battles unprecedented, costly legal problems in the midst of his presidential campaign.

Trump is the runaway frontrunner to clinch the Republican presidential nomination to face Democrat Joe Biden in the November general election.

However, his costs are rapidly mounting.

Trump was hit last week with an $83 million verdict in a defamation case brought by writer E. Jean Carroll, and a judge is set to rule any day now on the New York Attorney General’s request for $370 million in penalties for his misrepresentations to banks about his net worth.

Bigelow, who is based in Nevada, said he had dinner with Trump on Monday night at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida.

"It was supposed to be one hour. It was over two hours. And we still ran out of time," Bigelow said, declining to provide details of their conversation.

Autopsy findings in cases of fatal COVID-19 vaccine-induced myocarditis

Abstract

COVID-19 vaccines have been linked to myocarditis, which, in some circumstances, can be fatal. This systematic review aims to investigate potential causal links between COVID-19 vaccines and death from myocarditis using post-mortem analysis. We performed a systematic review of all published autopsy reports involving COVID-19 vaccination-induced myocarditis through 3 July 2023. All autopsy studies that include COVID-19 vaccine-induced myocarditis as a possible cause of death were included. Causality in each case was assessed by three independent physicians with cardiac pathology experience and expertise. We initially identified 1691 studies and, after screening for our inclusion criteria, included 14 papers that contained 28 autopsy cases. The cardiovascular system was the only organ system affected in 26 cases. In two cases, myocarditis was characterized as a consequence from multisystem inflammatory syndrome. The mean age of death was 44.4 years old. The mean and median number of days from last COVID-19 vaccination until death were 6.2 and 3 days, respectively. We established that all 28 deaths were most likely causally linked to COVID-19 vaccination by independent review of the clinical information presented in each paper. The temporal relationship, internal and external consistency seen among cases in this review with known COVID-19 vaccine-induced myocarditis, its pathobiological mechanisms, and related excess death, complemented with autopsy confirmation, independent adjudication, and application of the Bradford Hill criteria to the overall epidemiology of vaccine myocarditis, suggests that there is a high likelihood of a causal link between COVID-19 vaccines and death from myocarditis.

Author’s Note: This is my second post in a series about the lectures and papers of UNC professor Ralph Baric. As I mentioned in my first post, Ralph Baric: The JS Bach of Viral Genetic Engineering, Professor Baric has—through extraordinary focus over a thirty year period—become the preeminent authority on coronaviruses and genetically altering them. My title did not imply that Baric’s work bears the same moral and aesthetic qualities as Bach’s. The point of my title was to give the devil his due in terms of diligence, focus, and industry.

The following lecture from 2018 is titled Imagining the Next Flu Pandemic – and Preventing it!. The following passages struck me as notable:

1). At around 10:50 he talks about creating Chimeric SARS-like Viruses in the lab.

Three of these could replicate just fine and use human receptors for entry. … If you took a mouse that has a human receptor instead of the mouse receptor, these viruses are lethal. So they clearly have the potential to create lethal disease.

1). At 19:00 he talks about serial passage of viruses through mice resulting in the virus becoming more pathogenic. E-mails exchanged between Anthony Fauci, Francis Collins, and a group of prominent virologists in early February 2020 reveal their concerns that SARS-CoV-2 was the result of laboratory serial passage, though they never mentioned this concern in their papers or other communiques with the public.

Observations From my First Visit to Capitol Hill

Since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I have followed the medical freedom movement. I attended the Defeat the Mandates rally in Washington, D.C. on January 23, 2022-I met with and took pictures with a few of the doctors who spoke at the event. I found out about the event through The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Later on that year, in April, I attended the Save a Generation tour event in Jacksonville, Florida where I connected further with Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Ryan Cole.

I was invited to attend the latest hearing on January 12th by Dr. Peter McCullough at the Capitol building in DC. The hearing was conducted by Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia’s 14th congressional district. She was accompanied by Congressmen Ron Johnson, Andy Biggs, and Warren Davidson. The topic of this hearing focused on blood-related adverse events as it relates to post COVID-vaccination. Dr. Peter McCullough was accompanied by Dr. Ryan Cole and Dr. Kirk Milhoan. Each doctor laid out the negative effects of the spike protein from the COVID vaccine through the perspective of their medical expertise-all the while meticulously citing each observation with papers from the preprint servers.

Dr. Milhoan referenced the Hippocratic Oath and 1 Timothy 1:5-7 as the basis for his modus operandi within medical practice. The medical community could use more of this; however, because this is not the case, this hearing and the like are occurring in order to inform the public about what they are not hearing from mainstream media. It is because of the bravery and courage from these distinguished doctors and others like them-that we as Americans and those around the world can gain invaluable wisdom and insight on how to properly care for our own bodies.

Dr. McCullough observed the fact that before the pandemic the number of myocarditis cases were roughly between 200 to 400 cases per year-now after the COVID vaccine rollout, the cases of myocarditis are in the thousands. In addition, McCullough and his colleagues discovered that the death rate from myocarditis is 0.22 percent with a range of 0.41 to 45.9 percent. Mr. McCullough renewed his call to remove the vaccines from the market due to them being unsafe. Another way to lessen the effect of COVID-19, influenza, and the common cold is through nasal sprays and oral rinses with dilute povidone-iodine. In addition, the movie Oppehemier was referenced in relation to the angst that J. Robert Oppenhiemer felt towards the release of a dangerous nuclear weapon. More citizens should be alarmed by the release of the latest gene-alternating vaccines, and the other plans for it outlined by the World Economic Forum.

Senator Johnson asked “why is the rest of the medical community still silent?” Well, is not that the million-dollar question quite literally. Dr. Milhoan answered in part with “many of his colleagues will say that Kirk you’re right, but I am not going to stick my head out. I am going to work two or more years then I am going to retire. Dr. Cole answered next by citing “fear is the simple answer,” and “that the number of the people who have spoken out have mostly been independent, and those who weren't independent did pay that price-they lost their jobs for speaking the truth.” As a result of restricting early treatment, blackmailing employees and patients to get vaxxed, and ultimately succumbing to the dictates of the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex-many patients have lost their lives or became vaccine-injured, and whole host of other issues and problems that could have been easily avoided; however at the very least, mitigated. These statements made by the doctors are emblematic of the psychology of how the average citizen responds to a global crisis. What will the next psychological operation be and how many people from each country will fall for it this time?

From the late 1960s[7] through the 1990s, Bigelow developed commercial real estate hotels, motels and apartments.[8]

In his real estate career, Bigelow built approximately 15,000 units and purchased another 8,000. For most of his career, "he held on to almost everything he bought, but ... eventually unload[ed] much of his housing stock in the boom years immediately before the 2008 crash". In 2013, Bigelow reflected on this: "People just really wanted to throw money away, so that was lucky."[7]

Bigelow owns Budget Suites of America, an extended-stay apartment chain founded in 1987.[9] It caters to budget travelers needing to stay for an extended period. Its rooms are primarily suites featuring a full kitchen. Budget Suites owns three hotels in Phoenix, Arizona; five in Las Vegas, Nevada; ten in Dallas, Texas; and one in San Antonio, Texas.[10]

Aerospace

In 1999, Bigelow founded Bigelow Aerospace.[11]

Bigelow had indicated he planned to spend up to US$500 million to develop the first commercial space station with a goal of the station costing 33% of the US$1.5 billion that NASA expended on a single Space Shuttle mission.[12][13] Bigelow Aerospace has launched two experimental space modules, Genesis I in 2006 and Genesis II in 2007, and had planned for full-scale space habitats to be used as orbital hotels, research labs and factories.[14]

In 2013, Bigelow indicated that the reason he went into the commercial real estate business was to obtain the requisite resources to be able to fund a team developing space destinations.[8] In October 2017, Bigelow announced that he planned to put an inflatable "space hotel" into orbit by 2022.[15] The plan was part of a partnership with United Launch Alliance, and the project was estimated to cost US$2.3 billion in total. The cost of a 3-day stay in this spatial hotel was estimated at 5 million dollars.[16]

In April 2016, Bigelow's BEAM module was launched to the International Space Station[8] on the eighth SpaceX cargo resupply mission.[17]

In March 2020, Bigelow Aerospace laid off all 88 members of staff and halted operations after over 20 years of business, in a move that was partially caused by the coronavirus pandemic.[18]

In March 2021, he sued NASA for US$1.05 million, alleging he was not paid according to contract for product testing and development.[19]

Anomalies research

In 1995, Bigelow founded the National Institute for Discovery Science to fund the research and study of various fringe sciences and paranormal topics, most notably ufology.[20] The organization researched cattle mutilation and black triangle reports, ultimately attributing the latter to secretive advanced aircraft operated by the military.[21] The institute was disbanded in 2004.

In 1996, Bigelow purchased Skinwalker Ranch, a 512-acre (205 ha) cattle ranch located in Utah that is the site of purported paranormal phenomena, such as inter-dimensional shape-shifters,[22] for $200,000. In 2016, Bigelow sold the ranch to Brandon Fugal for $4 million.[23]

In December 2017, Bigelow was reported by the New York Times to have urged Senator Harry Reid to initiate what became the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, a government study which operated from 2007 to 2012 tasked with the study of UFOs.[24][25] According to the New York Times, Bigelow said he was “absolutely convinced” that extraterrestrial life exists and that extraterrestrials have visited Earth.[26]

Consciousness studies

In June 2020, Bigelow founded the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies (BICS) to support investigations into life after death.[5] In January 2021, the institute put up an award of US$1 million asking for essays arguing for existence of a life after death.[27] The institute awarded the first-place $500,000 prize to Jeffrey Mishlove, the second-place prize to Pim van Lommel, and the third-place prize to Leo Ruickbie.[28]

There’s a great scene in the 1986 film Manhunter in which the protagonist—an FBI behavioral sciences profiler named Will Graham—correctly postulates that the fingerprints of a remarkably twisted serial killer will be found on the corneas of his female victim. The Bureau and the guys in the latent print lab are skeptical and think that Will is himself being a weirdo, and are then astonished to discover that he is right.



To put Will Graham’s character in Jungian terms: he is an excellent detective because he possesses a keen understanding of the Shadow—that is, the archaic, aggressive, lustful, power-hungry side of human nature that lurks in all of us. All humans are capable of evil, above all those who walk around with the smug, unexamined belief that they never would be.

I was reminded of this scene today as I read an extraordinary report by “Right to Know” investigative reporter, Emily Kopp, who obtained early drafts of the DEFUSE grant proposal, authored by EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak et al., and submitted to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in 2018.

I highly recommend reading Kopp’s report, titled US scientists proposed to make viruses with unique features of SARS-CoV-2 in Wuhan. The following passage goes to the heart of the matter:

The documents reveal for the first time that a virologist working with the Wuhan lab planned to engineer new spike proteins – in contrast with the collaboration’s public work to insert whole spike proteins into viral backbones. Language in the proposal indicates this work may have involved unpublished viruses, generating unpublished engineered spike proteins.

This American virologist, University of North Carolina Prof. Ralph Baric, was set to engineer twenty or more “chimeric” SARS-related viral spike proteins per year of the proposal, and two to five full-length engineered SARS-related viruses. Documents previously reported by U.S. Right to Know show that some of the experimentation could secretly occur in Wuhan at a lower biosafety level than specified in the grant, apparently to save costs.

The proposal for Professor Baric to perform Dr. Frankenstein work on SARS-related viruses will come as no surprise to those who are familiar with his seminal papers on creating chimeric SARS-related viruses using gain-of-function procedures. The real fireworks revelation in an early draft of the DEFUSE proposal is the following passage:



The passage highlighted in blue is PRECISELY the assembly procedure posited by Valentin Bruttel, Alex Washburne, and Antonius VanDongen in their 2022 paper titled Endonuclease fingerprint indicates a synthetic origin of SARS-CoV-2. Daszak et al. even propose purchasing the same restriction enzyme that Valentin et al. hypothesized was used in the lab synthesis of SARS-CoV-2. (Valentin’s Twitter commentary on the draft proposal fascinating and entertaining).

At the time Bruttel et al. published their paper, it was met with ridicule by prominent virologists Edward Holmes and Kristian Anderson, who called it “confected nonsense” and “kindergarten molecular biology.” Holmes and Anderson would say this, wouldn’t they? With stunning criminal energy, they have been key players in concealing the lab origin of SARS-CoV-2 since February 2020.

At the risk of tooting my own horn, I was not all surprised to read about this development. As a true crime author, I’ve spent the last twenty-five years studying criminal behavior, conspiracies, and criminal investigations. For years, Peter Daszak and his virologist compadres have obviously been in the business of modifying and enhancing bat coronaviruses in order to make them infectious and pathogenic to humans. I suspect the creation of SARS-CoV-2 and its accidental or deliberate release from a lab will eventually be regarded as the greatest true crime story in history.

It’s going to take a while for our dummy politicians and knucklehead mainstream media journalists to recognize it, “but at the length, truth will out.”

Donald Trump has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize after his name was put forward by a Republican congresswoman, citing the Abraham Accords the former president helped sign while in office.

New York Rep. Claudia Tenney said that Trump was "instrumental" in brokering the treatysigned in September 2020 between Israel and Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, which aimed to normalize their relations as part of an overall goal to tackle ongoing tensions in the Middle East between Arab countries and Israel. Morocco and Sudan followed suit in signing similar agreements in the following months.

"For decades, bureaucrats, foreign policy 'professionals', and international organizations insisted that additional Middle East peace agreements were impossible without a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Trump proved that to be false," Tenney told Fox News in a statement.

Tenney noted that the 1976 Israeli peace agreement with Egypt and the Oslo Accords in 1994 were both recognized with Nobel Peace Prizes, but so far Trump's role in the signing of the Abraham Accords had not been acknowledged.

While the Abraham Accords have been cited as a way to introduce and strengthen Israeli-Arab ties, the historic agreements have also been criticized for so far failing to produce meaningful solutions for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"The valiant efforts by President Trump in creating the Abraham Accords were unprecedented and continue to go unrecognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, underscoring the need for his nomination today," Tenney added.

"Now more than ever, when Joe Biden's weak leadership on the international stage is threatening our country's safety and security, we must recognize Trump for his strong leadership and his efforts to achieve world peace."

Trump's office has been contacted for comment via email.

Trump has been nominated for the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize three times in the past.

In September 2020, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian parliament, nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize for his "groundbreaking cooperation" in helping signing the Abraham Accords.

One month later, Laura Huhtasaari, a Finnish member of the European Parliament (MEP) and a member of the right-wing Finns Party, also nominated Trump for the 2021 prize "in recognition of his endeavors to end the era of endless wars, construct peace by encouraging conflicting parties for dialogue and negotiations, as well as underpin internal cohesion and stability of his country."

Trump received a third nomination from a group of Australian lawmakers in September 2020 for his promotion of peace in the Middle-East.

"What he has done with the Trump Doctrine is that he has decided he would no longer have America in endless wars, wars which achieve nothing but the killing of thousands of young Americans," Eminent law professor David Flint told Sky News Australia at the time.

"So he's reducing America's tendency to get involved in any and every war."

Thousands of people are eligible to nominate candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize, including members of governments, university professors and past laureates. The committee decides from hundreds of nominees and the winner of this year's prize will be announced in October.

The prosecution of those people who rioted at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021 is, by now, completely political. There’s little argument those who did vandalism should be prosecuted, but there have been people convicted for offenses related to that day who didn’t go into the building, and weren’t even in Washington at the time.

One of the key charges presented by leftist prosecutors to leftist judges in the district has been “obstructing.”

And now the Supreme Court has begun a review of whether that was appropriate, and as a result, two “convicts” from that day have been released from jail, according to a report in the Washington Times.

The Times confirmed at least two of those defendants “got out from behind bars because theSupreme Court is reviewing the legitimacy of charging them with obstructing an official proceeding, which is one of the feds’ favorite charges for people who breached the Capitol.”

The charge, however, has been used irregularly, as Rep. Jamal Bowman, a Democrat who could be argued to have “obstructed” Congress by inappropriately setting of a fire alarm during a vote, never was charged with that offense.

The report explained Jan. 6 defendant Joseph Fischer charged prosecutors were being overly broad in their interpretation of the law, which cites “obstructing an official proceeding.”

The ruling could have a wide-ranging impact on the entire prosecutorial ideology being used in Washington now, and the report said until that decision comes down, “at least two defendants successfully petitioned for early release pending the decision.”

More are expected to file similar documents, and a few more already have.The report explained prosecutors have used the charge more than 300 times, of the some 1,000 cases stemming from that day.

”At least 152 people were convicted or pleaded guilty to obstructing an official proceeding and more than 100 have been sentenced,” the report said,.

Released already was Thomas Adams Jr., convicted of obstructing an official proceedingand sentenced to 14 months behind bars,after the judge concluded the high court could side with Fischer.

Government lawyers argued against his release, claiming his “offenses” were “of the utmost seriousness.”

Among his infractions, they charge, was that he recorded on his cellphone for several minutes before being removed by police.

The other defendant is Alexander Sheppard, who successfully petitioned for early release because of the Supreme Court’s pending decision.

There,Judge John D. Bates said, “The Court agrees with Sheppard’s contention that the Supreme Court’s grant of the cert petition raises a ‘substantial question’ as to the validity of his … conviction.”

The report said, “The Fischer case underscores how broadly the government applied the charge to demonstrators who entered the Capitol on Jan. 6. Mr. Fischer, a former police officer in Pennsylvania, attended President Trump’s ‘Stop the Steal’ rally near the White House on Jan. 6, 2021. He did not immediately join the demonstration-turned-riot at the Capitol or enter the Capitol building.

”He and a companion left town briefly but later returned to the Capitol grounds and entered the building, though after the electoral vote count in Congress had been suspended. Mr.Fischer was inside the Capitol for about four minutes, according to court records.”

It comes three years too late. But Francis Collins, the former head of the National Institutes of Health, has finally admitted that the COVID-19 lockdowns caused a massive amount of harm — harm to which he and other government public-health experts, such as Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, were oblivious because they were obsessed with doing things their way.

The Mea Culpa came last summer during a conversation hosted by Braver Angels, an organization that promotes dialogue among Americans with sharply different ideologies and political loyalties. Collins, who as NIH director played a central role in shaping Washington’s response to COVID-19, was paired with Wilk Wilkinson, a Minnesota trucking manager and podcast host who strongly opposed how government officials addressed the pandemic. The 90-minute exchange, moderated by Boston College professor Martha Bayles, was recorded six months ago but only recently attracted attention when excerpts were posted on social media.

The whole conversation was interesting, but one segment in particular was jaw-dropping. Collins described with remarkable candor just how narrow-minded, how willfully myopic, he and other high-level public health officials had been as they dealt with the crisis.

As a guy living inside the beltway, feeling the sense of crisis, trying to decide what to do in some situation room in the White House with people who had data that was incomplete, we weren’t really thinking about what that would mean to Wilk and his family in Minnesota a thousand miles away from where the virus was hitting so hard,” confessed Collins, who retired from the NIH at the end of 2021. “We weren’t really considering the consequences in communities that were not New York City or some other big city.”

That was a stunning admission. What he said next was even more scandalous.

“If you’re a public health person and you’re trying to make a decision, you have this very narrow view of what the right decision is, and that is something that will save a life. Doesn’t matter what else happens. So you attach infinite value to stopping the disease and saving a life. You attach zero value to whether this actually totally disrupts people’s lives, ruins the economy, and has many kids kept out of school in a way that they never recover from.”

“Collateral damage,” said Wilkinson.

“Collateral damage,” Collins agreed. He and his colleagues were locked in what he now concedes was the “public health mindset” — a monomaniacal approach that blinded them to the injuries they were causing. “A lot of us had that mindset, and that was really unfortunate.”

Was it ever.

As early as March 2020, Fauci recommended a nationwide lockdown and called for a “dramatic diminution of the personal interaction” in daily activities. He warned that “life is not going to be the way it used to be in the United States,” while insisting that was “best for the American public.” Collins said at the time that the only correct approach was “one that most people would find to be too drastic because otherwise it is not drastic enough.”

Now, of course, it is far too late to mitigate any of the pain endured by millions of Americans hurt by the government’s high-handed edicts and recommendations. Those curbs and controls began with the declaration of a federal emergency and travel ban, which in turn spurred many states to order their own restrictions.

The coast-to-coast lockdown destroyed tens of millions of jobs and at least 200,000 small businesses. It exacerbated numerous social ills, worsened mental illness, and took a deadly toll in missed cancer diagnoses and untreated heart disease. The prolonged school closures inflicted unprecedented damage on children. The social distancing and mask mandates were enforced with a ruthlessness that at times turned despotic. And countless men and women — from ordinary citizens to noted epidemiologists to elected state officials — found themselves demonized, censored, or shunned for challenging those who attached “zero value” to their concerns.

All this damage was caused not by the pandemic but by politicians who abdicated their judgment and left it to public-health experts. Whether out of panic, pigheadedness, or perversity, they declined to balance costs against benefits, a basic function of policymaking. Instead, they insisted they would “follow the science” — as though scientists were endowed with an infallible road map to navigate COVID’s complex interplay of disease, economics, education, psychology, and politics in a nation of 330 million people….

The legal and political worlds were rocked this month when Michael Roman, a former Trump opposition researcher and co-defendant in the massive RICO case brought against Roman, Trump and others by Fulton County GA District Attorney, Fani Willis, filed a bombshell motion to dismiss the indictment. Through his lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, Roman alleges that DA Willis and her “Special Prosecutor” Nathan Wade have been having a:

“clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case, which has resulted in the special prosecutor, and, in turn, the district attorney, profiting significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers.”

“Willis and Wade have traveled personally together to such places as Napa Valley, California, Florida and the Caribbean and Wade has purchased tickets for both of them to travel on both the Norwegian and Royal Caribbean cruise lines. Wade has also purchased hotel rooms for personal trips with funds from the same account used to receive payments under his contract with Willis.”

Nathan Wade is a private lawyer who was awarded a peculiar but lucrative no-bid contract to serve as “Special Prosecutor” in the case. The DA already has a large stable of experienced felony prosecutors who work full time as Assistant District Attorneys. It’s a mystery why Willis needs to hire an outside criminal defense lawyer to prosecute Donald Trump. Roman notes that Wade is woefully underqualified for such a massive undertaking as prosecuting a sprawling RICO case involving a former president.

“Based on her longstanding personal knowledge of Wade and additional research, undersigned counsel is unaware of, and is unable to find any history of,Wade ever having prosecuted a single felony trial, much less at the rate Willis is paying him. Based on his current experience, and based on the current appointment guidelines, Mr. Wade wouldnot be qualified to serve as defense counsel in this RICO case because he has not tried “at least two criminal trials of similar offenses.”

In short, Roman claims Willis is steering massive sums of taxpayer money to her married lover and in turn receiving a financial benefit, a kickback, from her lover in the form of luxury travel. Roman suggests that Willis and Wade might haveviolated federal law through this alleged kickback scheme in the form of “Honest Services Fraud” and, ironically a RICO violation.

This filing set off a firestorm that is enveloping the DA’s team. Since Roman’s filing, we have seen proof that Wade met with Biden’s White House counsel in the lead up to the indictment and that he coordinated with the January 6 commission. We have learned that days before confirming the existence of the Trump probe to GA Governor Kemp,Willis spent large sums of taxpayer money to hire a media monitoring firm to track her media exposure.

We’ve also learned a judge booted Willis from investigating GA Lt. Governor Burt Jones as a potential co-defendant in the Trump case because of a conflict of interest after she hosted a fundraiser for Jones’ election opponent…

For several days there has been a flurry of reports in both independent and mainstream media outlets suggesting the US could finally withdraw American troops from Iraq and Syria. These reports spread widely especially before the Sunday drone attack on a US base on the Syrian-Jordanian border, which killed three American soldiers and injured over 40 more, according to revised casualty figures.

For example, Foreign Policy reported last Wednesday that the White House is actively reviewing and reconsidering the troop presence after a years-long occupation of Syria, however the report emphasized that "no definitive decision has been made to leave."

Still, there had not been any serious reporting or "debate" on a plan to withdraw from Syria going back to the middle of the Trump administration, when then President Trump pointed out that troops were there "to secure the oil".

Just as in the aforementioned Foreign Policy article, hawks argue that American must "stay the course" (with no exit date, as these things tend to go) as if somehow the Pentagon's absence from the region will unleash chaos and an expansionist Iran (or insert Russia, China, or any 'bad guy' of the moment).

But this week, a top Biden admin official sought to definitively dispel the substantial rumors that an Iraq or Syria withdrawal could be around the corner.

And it was none other than Victoria "F*ck The EU" Nuland:

"Well, first let me set the records straight, the United States is not withdrawing from Syria," Nuland, who is US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, has told CNN Turk.

Nuland's comments are being reported in foreign media but have been absent from the US mainstream, perhaps given general apathy among the American public on questions of the 'forever' occupation of Syria.
