As criminal activity continues to run rampant at ports across the country, police are seeking new powers to curb illegal behaviour.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, a new RCMP report says organized crime is still a major problem at ports across Canada.

In an effort to quell such nefarious activity, law enforcement is seeking the ability to require all port workers to submit to full background checks as a condition of employment. This would include federal customs agents as well.

As stated in the RCMP report, criminal organizations are now often targeting “employees at international ports who facilitate the importation and exportation of illicit goods.”

So what's the story? In Vancouver, one of the most beautiful and liberal cities in North America, Indigenous communities control some prime tracts of land.

They have decided to maximize the value of that land by building massive skyscrapersquite attractive ones, actuallyto increase the housing stock in a region notorious for housing shortages. The reporter behind a Radio-Canada investigation that found gender clinics were quickly rushing teens into chemically transitioning with puberty blockers is standing by her reporting in the face of an onslaught of criticism.

While speaking on Tout le Monde en Parle, Radio-Canada journalist Pasquale Turbide said that concerns from parents prompted the investigation.

he Trudeau Government’s new attack strategy comes as the ever-increasing carbon tax is set to raise on April 1, from $65 per tonne of carbon emissions to $80.

The increase translates to an added 17 cents per litre on gasoline, 21 cents per litre on diesel, and 15 cents per cubic metre of natural gas.

“The Canada Carbon Rebate is going up and Pierre Poilievre wants to rob you of it,” stated the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Jonathan Wilkinson.

By “Canada Carbon Rebate,” Minister Wilkinson is referring to the carbon tax that his Liberal Party recently rebranded as a tax that makes most citizens richer.

Minister Wilkinson’s message pointed to a CBC article from January that focused on a Saskatchewan resident, Germaine Rhomberg, who said she was worried that she would become poorer if her carbon rebates from the government dried up. Rhomberg’s concerns arose after her Premier, Scott Moe, stopped collecting the tax on Saskatchewanians’ heating bills.

Alberta Health Services approves 27 year old autistic women of government-assisted suicide while her father attempts to stop the process.

An autistic Calgary woman with a mental illness has been approved for government-assisted suicide (aka Medical Assistance in Dying – MAID), however her father claims that she’s incapable of giving consent.

The father, who’s name has not been released due to a publication ban, has asked an Alberta judge to dive deeper into the conditions that led to the government approving to end his daughter’s life.

The day before her scheduled death, he was successful in receiving a temporary injunction after pleading that his daughter “suffers from autism and possibly other undiagnosed maladies that do not satisfy the eligibility criteria for MAID.”

No medical documentation has been provided to the court justifying her approval.

The father worries that his daughter’s decision was influenced, but his daughter’s lawyer claimed that “while this is sad, it does not give him the right to keep her alive against her wishes.”

Her lawyer, Austin Paladeau, additionally stated that the conclusion of whether she qualifies or not should be left up to the medical professionals and it’s none of her father’s business.

Sarah Miller, the lawyer for the father, called the situation “a novel issue for Alberta.”

The relatively new term refers to environment-related policies that disproportionately harm marginalized ethnic groups.

“The Government is engaging Canadians on environmental justice and racism to highlight the fact that certain communities have been disproportionately affected by environmental hazards like pollution, toxic waste, landfills, and dumps,” a government statement read.

The session focused on struggles from a Black community in Shelburne, Nova Scotia, where for 75 years – until its closure in 2016 – a landfill released emissions that potentially damaged nearby residents’ health. A study is currently underway investigating the potential link between the dump site and cancer rates in the community.

Ongoing water contamination issues coming from the community’s dug wells remain, due to bacteria build up.

Guilbeault’s roundtable included representatives from the ENRICH Project, which tackles the impact that environmental racism and climate change have on marginalized communities in Canada.

A key topic was the advancement of Bill C-226, originally proposed by the Green Party’s Elizabeth May in 2021, titled “An Act respecting the development of a national strategy to assess, prevent and address environmental racism and to advance environmental justice.”

European countries intend to create yet another “capability coalition” to supply Ukrainian forces with long-range weapons, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Friday, echoing an initiative floated by French President Emmanuel Macron.

During a joint press conference with Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Berlin on Friday, the German chancellor stated that the countries have agreed to expand their own production of military equipment and “procure even more weapons for Ukraine, on the overall world market.”

“We are establishing a new capability coalition for long-range rocket artillery,” Scholz told journalists. The German leader provided no specifics and took no questions, so it remains unclear whether he meant something new, or was referring to a “long-range” initiative announced by Macron last month. According to a press release from the District of Columbia United States Attorney's Office, 31-year-old Ballek was taken into custody on February 7 after being charged with the distribution of child pornography.

According to the indictment, on January 23, 2024, Ballek was caught in an undercover cyber operation for distributing three video files depicting adult males engaging in sexually explicit conduct with minors.

Ballek’s LinkedIn profile shows that at the time of his arrest, he was in Washington, D. C., and had been working for the last two years as a financial risk specialist for The World Bank.

Ballek's LinkedIn profile also states that he worked for the Bank of Canada for five years as a senior financial specialist and was a program manager in LGBT capital markets to "empower LGBT+ talent."

Documents reveal the Liberals’ Climate Change department paid the World Economic Forum (WEF) to produce a report that made an economic case for their environmental agenda, including the ever-increasing carbon tax.

In August 2019, the Environment and Climate Change (ECCC) department’s then-minister, Catherine McKenna, gave $493,937 of taxpayer dollars to the WEF to produce the report, as revealed in response to an Order Paper Question sent by Conservative MP Leslyn Lewis.

Specifically, the documents reveal the ECCC gave money “to enable [the WEF] to produce and disseminate a report that will establish the business and economic case for safeguarding nature.”

“This report will be directed at senior decision makers in governments and businesses who have the influence and ability to shift business-as-usual approach,” the ECCC stated. [Emphasis added]

Six months later, the WEF provided the Liberals exactly what they asked for.

In their report New Nature Economy Report Series, the WEF sourced papers favouring a carbon tax. Furthermore, the report’s policy recommendation stated “Carbon pricing should also be introduced.”

The report highlighted Colombia’s carbon scheme – where they tax liquid fossil fuels at $5/tonne – and pointed out that the taxes yielded revenues.

“Our clients are disappointed in the Supreme Court’s decision not to hear their appeal,” said Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms lawyer Allison Pejovic.

The JCCF is a legal advocacy group based in Calgary that works to help protect Canadians’ constitutional rights and freedoms.

“It was past time to have a conversation with Canada’s highest court about whether Charter-protected rights such as rights to worship and assemble ought to be prioritized over economic interests, such as ensuring that the Winnipeg Jets could practice indoors and that movie productions could continue,” said Pejovic.

After losing their argument in two lower courts, the applicants filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, which did not provide any details as to why it decided not to hear the case.

Both organizations are pushing for digital IDs.

The list of supporters and promoters of the implementation of digital IDs, strongly criticized by privacy and security advocates, quite unsurprisingly includes the likes of the World Bank and Verizon.

What is interesting is the way they are explaining the push, and also how they propose to make mass, worldwide adoption of digital IDs a reality. There’s also a corporate-speak cliche-in-the-making for all this: “digital transformation journey.”

The pairing that is the World Bank and Verizon makes sense because in order to have people’s identities and financial assets centralized in the way proposed by various digital ID schemes, they need to first have access to the internet.

A recent meeting in Washington DC, dubbed the Global Digital Summit, saw the two respective financial and telecommunications heavy-hitters “agree” that governments must make digital IDs a component of what’s known as the social contract with citizens. Continue…

West will officially start his new role at Hertz on April 1.

In a recent study conducted by Ekos Research Associates on behalf of the Communications Security Establishment, Canadians expressed reservations about the government’s approach to combatting disinformation.

The study, titled “Study on Online Disinformation Advertising Creative Testing (2023-2024),” aimed to gather insights to refine the CSE’s advertising campaign strategy.

Documents reveal that Environment Minister and self-proclaimed socialist Steven Guilbeault has spent $6 million taxpayer dollars over the past two years alone on marketing his climate change agenda towards Canadians.

In response to an order paper question, Minister Guilbeault indicated that in 2023, his department dished out $3,912,569 towards marketing agencies to convince Canadians that his carbon tax is necessary.

Through just the first two and a half months of 2024, the minister has already dolled out another $2 million for more of the same.

A variety of marketing outlets are being used, from TV, to print, to digital, out of home and inside movie theaters, and social media.

The Environment Minister also indicated he’s put money towards “search engine marketing,” meaning he’s likely paying Google’s algorithms to favour his agenda when individuals search for related terms.

President Putin has said a buffer zone will be created to protect civilians from long-range attacks

Around 9,000 children will be evacuated from Russia’s Belgorod Region on the border with Ukraine, following increased attempts by Kiev’s forces to strike targets behind the front line, local Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced on Tuesday.

The first group of 1,200 children will be transported from unsafe areas on March 22 and will be relocated deeper inside Russia to Penza, Tambov, and Kaluga, Gladkov said.

“We are already relocating [people from] a large number of villages. Now we are planning to evacuate about 9,000 children from Belgorod and the surrounding regions, Shebekinsky and Grayvoronsky districts,” he added.
