TREASON: Majority of House Democrats voted against the deportation of CRIMINAL MIGRANTS

The vast majority of House Democrats have opposed the deportation of migrants found guilty of committing Social Security fraud and driving under the influence (DUI) in the United States.

The bills, known as H.R. 6678 (Consequences for Social Security Fraud Act) and H.R. 6976 (Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act), were introduced by Republican Representatives Tom McClintock (R-CA) and Barry Moore (R-AL).

H.R. 6678, which deports or bars a non-U.S. national who committed a Social Security or identification document fraud from admission into the U.S., saw opposition from 155 Democrats.

Meanwhile, H.R. 6976 faced opposition from 150 Democrats. The legislation sought to create grounds for inadmissibility and removability for aliens convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). The current lack of explicit provisions in immigration law allows criminal aliens to evade accountability for DUI offenses, potentially posing risks to communities.

Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) could not help but express his disappointment with Democrats.

"I am appalled to see a majority of Democrats in the House of Representatives voting to prevent illegal aliens who endanger the lives of American citizens by drunk driving from being deported. Americans deserve leaders who put their safety and prosperity first," he said.

Even the House Judiciary Committee expressed their disappointment with the decision on X. "They'd rather protect illegal aliens than our seniors," the House Judiciary Committee posted on Feb. 1.

Trump vows to implement "largest domestic deportation operation" if re-elected as president

During a speech in Iowa in September, former President Donald Trump declared his intention to implement "the largest domestic deportation operation in American history" if he secures a second term in the 2024 presidential race. "Upon my inauguration, I will immediately terminate every Open Borders policy of the Biden administration. Following the Eisenhower Model, we will carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history. I’ll also invoke immediately the Alien Enemies Act to remove all known or suspected gang members," Trump said.

Trump draws inspiration from the 1954 initiative, known as "Operation Wetback," of former President and World War II hero Dwight D. Eisenhower. The program, which sought to curb the influx of approximately three million illegal immigrants into the US, primarily in California, Arizona and Texas in the 19th century, involved transporting undocumented individuals deep into Mexico using buses, trains and ships.

Biden State Department Funds Program to Create Army of 2,500 ‘LGBTQI+ Allies’

President Joe Biden’s State Department paid a public university to train a cohort of “master trainers” in India who will then go on to train more than 2,000 people to become “LGBTQI+ allies,” according to a government spending database.

Washington State University received $15,000 from the State Department in July 2023 to hold a three-day workshop aimed at training 30 individuals with the goal of them eventually training 2,500 people to become “LGBTQI+ allies” and to develop a “better understanding of diversity and inclusion,” according to a federal spending database. The trainings took place in India between Sept. 25 and Sept. 27, according to the university website.

The State Department offered the grant under a program intended to “support the achievement of U.S. foreign policy goals and objectives, advance national interests and enhance national security,” according to a federal spending database. The training sought to “increase the comfort levels of all participants regarding issues faced by members of the LGBTQI+ community,” the university website read.

Individuals participating in the training were instructed on how to properly use “LGBTQI+ language,” taught about the intersection of LGBTQI+ identities and faith, instructed on LGBTQ+ history, and put through hours of allyship training, according to the workshop schedule.

The State Department has distributed several grants under the Biden administration promoting LGBTQI+ ideology across the world.

The State Department disbursed $4.6 million to groups in 55 different countries to fund LGBTQI+ activism as of June 30, according to The Washington Free Beacon.

State Department grants have included supporting “queer” Muslim writers in India, providing classes for transgender “makeup entrepreneurs” in Nepal, and funding a LGBTQ+ film festival in Portugal that featured pedophilic and incestuous content.

Conservative groups, including The Heritage Foundation and the Family Research Council, have argued that exporting LGBTQI+ ideology has been a priority at the State Department since Biden took office.

“Attempting to export contentious current viewpoints held by slim and temporary political majorities does not advance U.S. national interests abroad and might very well induce opposition to them,” the report from The Heritage Foundation reads.

Judicial Watch Sues Mississippi for Counting Absentee Ballots Received after Election Day

Judicial Watch announced today it filed a civil rights lawsuit on behalf of the Libertarian Party of Mississippi, challenging a Mississippi election law permitting absentee ballots to be received as long as five business days after Election Day (Libertarian Party of Mississippi v Wetzel et al. (No. 1:24-cv-00037)).

Judicial Watch’s lawsuit details:

Under federal law, the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of every even-numbered year is election day (“Election Day”) for federal elections. See 2 U.S.C. §§ 1, 7 and 3 U.S.C. § 1.

Congress recently reaffirmed a single national Election Day when it enacted the Electoral Count Reform Act (“ECRA”). 136 Stat. 5233, 525 (enacted as Div. P., Title I, § 102(b) of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, 117 Pub. L. No. 328, Dec. 29, 2022). See 3 U.S.C. § 21.

Under the recent Congressional amendments, no extension of Election Day shall be allowed unless there are “force majeure events that are extraordinary and catastrophic” that justify extension. 3 U.S.C. § 21.

Despite Congress’ unambiguous and longstanding statement regarding a single and uniform national Election Day, Mississippi extended Election Day by allowing five additional business days after Election Day for receipt of absentee ballots. See Miss. Code Ann. § 23-15-637(1)(a).

No “force majeure events that are extraordinary and catastrophic” currently exist in Mississippi to justify extending the ballot receipt deadline for the November 5, 2024 federal election for Presidential and Vice-Presential Electors. See 3 U.S.C. § 21.

Robert Popper, a Judicial Watch senior attorney, leads its election law program. Popper was previously in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, where he managed voting rights investigations, litigations, consent decrees, and settlements in dozens of states.

In December 2023, notice letters to election officials in the District of Columbia, California, and Illinois, notifying them of evident violations of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993, based on their failure to remove inactive voters from their registration rolls. The letters point out that these jurisdictions publicly reported removing few or no ineligible voter registrations under a key provision of the NVRA. The letters threaten federal lawsuits unless the violations are corrected in a timely fashion. In response to Judicial Watch’s inquiries, Washington, DC, officials admitted that they had not complied with the NVRA, promptly removed 65,544 outdated names from the voting rolls, promised to remove 37,962 more, and designated another 73,522 registrations as “inactive.”

In July 2023 Judicial Watch filed an amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief, supporting the decision of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, which struck down Maine’s policy restricting the use and distribution of the state’s voter registration list (Public Interest Legal Foundation v. Shenna Bellows (No. 23-1361). According to a national study conducted by Judicial Watch in 2020, Maine’s statewide registration rate was 101% of eligible voters.

Judicial Watch in July 2023 also settled a federal election integrity lawsuit on behalf of the Illinois Conservative Union against the state of Illinois, the Illinois State Board of Elections, and its director, which grants access to the current centralized statewide list of registered voters for the state for the past 15 elections.

When asked to confirm the deployment to Kinmen, the Pentagon told Antiwar.com it won't comment on military operations in Taiwan

US military advisors have been deployed to Kinmen, a group of small islands that are controlled by Taiwan but located just off the coast of mainland China, Taiwan’s TVBS has reported.

When asked to confirm the highly provocative deployment to Kinmen, the Pentagon said it could not comment. “We don’t have a comment on specific operations, engagements, or training” with Taiwan, Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Marty Meiners told Antiwar.com in an email.

“But I would highlight that our support for, and defense relationship with, Taiwan remains aligned against the current threat posed by the People’s Republic of China. Our commitment to Taiwan is rock-solid,” Meiners said.

The US typically sends special operations forces, such as US Army Green Berets, to act as advisors in Taiwan. The TVBS report said the advisors were sent to Kinmen for “long-term stations” at the Taiwanese military’s “amphibious camps.” Advisors were also sent to Penghu, an archipelago about 30 miles west of the main island of Taiwan.

The report said the deployment fulfilled the US’s 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which called for the US to increase its training of Taiwan’s forces. The 2024 NDAA, which President Biden signed into law in December, required the Pentagon to establish a “comprehensive” training program for the Taiwanese military.

The US has significantly increased its military and diplomatic support for Taiwan in recent years, ratcheting up tensions with China. Last year, the US deployed around 200 troops to Taiwan, marking the largest known US military presence on the island since the US pulled its troops out after Washington severed diplomatic relations with Taipei in 1979.

The US also recently began providing Taiwan with unprecedented military aid. Since 1979, the US has always sold weapons to Taiwan but never financed the purchases or provided arms free of charge until last year.

The new US support for Taiwan is being done in the name of deterrence, but China’s actions and rhetoric have made it clear the US steps are just making war more likely. This reality was put on display in August 2022 when then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) visited Taiwan despite repeated warnings from China. In response, the Chinese military launched its largest-ever military drills around the island.

The head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Moayad Shaaban, said on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation authorities and Zionist settlers carried out 1,593 attacks during January 2024.

Shaaban explained in the commission’s monthly report on “violations of the occupation and measures of colonial expansion” that the occupation forces carried out 1,407 attacks, while the settlers carried out 186 attacks.

He elaborated that the violations were concentrated in Hebron Governorate, with 291 attacks, followed by Quds Governorate, with 203 attacks, and Nablus Governorate, with 200 attacks.

He added that the settlers’ attacks were concentrated in Hebron Governorate, with 63 attacks, 38 in Nablus, and 23 in Ramallah, the most prominent of which was the shooting of the young man Tawfiq Ajaq in the Eastern Farm.

Shaaban pointed out that the settlers stole 47 heads of livestock, three agricultural tractors, and two tents, while the occupation forces seized 82 vehicles, seven monitoring camera recordings, and 15 bulldozers and trucks, while 19 cases of theft of money and gold jewelry were recorded and 60 heads of livestock were seized.

At this year’s annual World Economic Forum (WEF) conference in Davos, Moderna head Stephane Bancel admitted to CNBC that he ordered his staff to start mass producing “vaccines” for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) in late 2019, just a few months before the so-called “virus” even emerged.

After previously claiming that he first heard about covid in January 2020, Bancel now says he knew a coronavirus was on the way and that Moderna needed to start manufacturing injections for the upcoming “billion dollar” pandemic that he somehow knew was coming.

“When the [COVID] pandemic happened, Moderna had made a hundred thousand doses in 2019 for the whole year,” the CEO told the fake financial media outlet.

“And I remember walking after those into the office of my other manufacturing and I say, ‘How we make [sic] a billion dollars next year?’ And they look at me a bit funny and say, ‘What?’ And I say, ‘Yeah, we need to make a billion dollars next year; there’s going to be a pandemic.’”

Moderna has never had a successful drug product, despite raking in billions in profits

One could argue, weakly, that Bancel was simply excited about his company producing “life-saving” injections for the world, and that the money was just icing on the cake. But that is not how he worded it to his employees, hence why they looked at him “a bit funny.”

In 2020, Boston Magazine published a much different version of events than what Bancel stated at Davos this year. Back then, Bancel reportedly wrote to National Institutes of Health (NIH) deputy director Barney Graham immediately after he learned about the “viral pneumonia” in China in January 2020.

“If it’s a coronavirus, we know what to do and have proven mRNA is effective,” Graham is said to have told Bancel at the time.

At Davos this year, Bancel admitted that he was eager to rake in a billion dollars quickly and knew that a “pandemic” was soon to arrive that would make that possible. With the help of Donald Trump, Moderna was able to participate in Operation Warp Speed and the rest is history.

Before unleashing its COVID jab, Moderna had never successfully produced even a single drug product. Considering its COVID jab is also a failure, probably by design, Moderna still has yet to successfully produce anything effective or worthwhile.

Even so, the company has generated billions of dollars in profit as the tens of millions of people who took its COVID injection are now sick or dying of vaccine-induced AIDS (VAIDS).

“… as long as people like Bancel and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla continue to escape from real media scrutiny, we may never know the sequence of events that led these people and their corporates to make billions from technology that had still not widely been tested, for prolonged periods of time,” says Catherine Salgado, writing for The National Pulse.

In the comments, someone added that Moderna made its COVID Davos injection in about 48 hours with zero long-term testing, but was still allowed to rush it to market under the guise of a national health emergency, which Trump declared on March 13, 2020, before later launching Operation Warp Speed.

“I will never get a vaccine again,” this person added. “My last vax was 10 years ago, a tetanus shot. The medical establishment has completely broken our trust as they are nothing but shills for Big Pharma.”

An agency of the federal government “flagged” Bible purchases as an indication of “extremism” in communications with banks following the events of January 6, 2021.

“We now know the federal government flagged terms like ‘MAGA’ and ‘TRUMP,’ to financial institutions if Americans completed transactions using those terms,” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-OH, wrote on X. “What was also flagged? If you bought a religious text, like a BIBLE, or shopped at Bass Pro Shop.”

In Florida trial involving classified documents, Donald Trump’s lawyers are seeking more information about a Department of Energy clearance list

Former president Donald Trump’s lawyers say they may use evidence suggesting that Trump had a high-level security clearance as recently as last year to bolster their defense that the former president was acting in “good-faith and non-criminal states of mind” when he took sensitive documents from the White House to his Florida residence after leaving office.

The revelation came in a legal filing late Tuesday night in which Trump’s attorneys urged Judge Aileen M. Cannon — who is overseeing Trump’s federal trial in Florida for allegedly mishandling classified documents — to force prosecutors to produce more information about the evidence they have about the former president. A “motion to compel discovery” is a standard part of pre-trial legal proceedings.

In the 65-page filing, Trump’s lawyers disclosed some of the defenses they plan to use in the case, one of four criminal trials Trump is facing. They asked for communication between prosecutors and the Biden administration, which they said could show that the indictment against Trump is politically motivated, and they argued that prosecutors must show more evidence that Trump damaged national security by possessing the documents.

Among the more specific possible defenses: Lawyers for Trump say he had an active security clearance years after leaving the White House, based on a government document from June 2023 that still listed him with a “Q” clearance from the Department of Energy. The document was dated a few weeks after prosecutors indicted Trump in the case. He faces 40 counts related to willful retention of national defense information; obstruction, withholding or altering of documents; and making false statements, and has pleaded not guilty.

Trump attorney Todd Blanche first publicly referred to the "Q" clearance at a November court hearing in Florida, saying he had learned Trump “continued to have an active clearance” when prosecutors turned over the Department of Energy documentation as part of what is known as Brady material — evidence that prosecutors must share with defense lawyers that could be helpful to the defense.

In the latest filing, Trump’s attorneys suggested they still do not know the entirety of what the Department of Energy filing entails and asked the judge to force prosecutors to provide more information about the “Q” clearance. The term refers to a type of security clearance handled by the agency, whose classified information focuses largely on nuclear secrets. It became popular in right-wing conspiracy circles because of the movement known as QAnon, which originated during Trump’s presidency and centers on made-up claims circulated by a person known as “Q”, who supporters claimed had that level of clearance.

Trump’s attorneys did not suggest that they believed the clearance would allow Trump to store highly classified material at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida home and private club. Rather, they said it speaks to his state of mind and shows that he was acting in good faith when he stored the materials at his personal residence.

Their filing accuses the Energy Department of trying to modify an “inconvenient truth” by removing Trump’s name from the clearance list weeks after his indictment.

“In order to permit President Trump to prepare his defenses and present them to the jury, the Office must produce documents and communications relating to that decision,” the filing says.

So why would Trump be on a “Q”-level security clearance list even after he left the White House?

Security experts — who have not seen the list and do not know if Trump is on it — said that every agency has different protocols to track who is eligible to access certain information. The Department of Energy, they said, maintains a list that is not always updated regularly. Being eligible to view the sensitive material doesn’t give someone unfettered access to it, however.

“A clearance alone is not sufficient for access to classified materials,” said Steve Aftergood, a security expert. "You need a clearance and you need a need to know. As a former president, Mr. Trump’s need to know — unlike his security clearance — would have expired.”

Presidents do not go through the same security-clearance process as other government officials. Instead, they automatically gain access to restricted material upon taking office.

Former presidents retain some level of access to classified materials because they can be included on some sensitive discussions to offer their expertise, said Mark S. Zaid, a lawyer who has handled espionage cases. But he agreed with Aftergood that such access is only granted when there is a specific need.

“The reality is that [Trump] wouldn’t necessarily still have access because no one would have given him access,” Zaid said. “But he would have had eligibility regardless as a former president.”

The charges Trump faces in Florida include 32 counts of improperly retaining national defense information, with each count representing a different document that was allegedly in Trump’s possession at Mar-a-Lago.

According to court filings, one of those documents related to nuclear weapons and would have been off-limits to anyone without a “Q” clearance. That document is marked as “Formerly Restricted Data,” according to a previous court filing, which means that it contains information related to the workings, location or procedures for securing nuclear weapons. While the bureaucratic label has the word “formerly” in it, security experts say it is a misnomer because such information is still classified and restricted.

Other documents that Trump is accused of retaining require different types of clearance. Trump lawyers said in their filing that they may use the Department of Energy documentation as a basis to at least dismiss the charge for retaining the nuclear document.

During the Supreme Court oral arguments for Trump v. Anderson, Justice Brett Kavanaugh delivered a pointed reminder that former President Donald Trump has not been formally charged with insurrection.

Thursday’s proceedings centered on the contested application of the 14th Amendment’s prohibition against insurrectionists holding office, which has been invoked in an attempt to disqualify Trump from the 2024 primary ballot in Colorado.

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled in a 4-3 decision to keep President Trump off the 2024 Primary ballot in the state. The Colorado high court has been the only court to rule this way out of several decisions or dismissals in other states.

The legal theories are based on Section 3 of the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment which states public officials who have “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against” the US may be disqualified from public office.

During the proceedings, Justice Kavanaugh directly addressed Colorado attorney Jason Murray, emphasizing the absence of criminal charges against Trump related to insurrection.

Kavanaugh’s remarks shed light on the broader implications of the case, questioning the appropriateness of state-level decisions on matters potentially covered by federal statutes against insurrection. Kavanaugh highlighted existing federal statutes, like Section 2383 of Title 18, which already address the issue of insurrection.

Kavanaugh: “Some of the rhetoric of your position seems to suggest, unless the states can do this, no one can prevent insurrectionists from holding federal office. But obviously, Congress has enacted statutes, including one still in effect, Section 2383 of Title 18. [It] prohibits insurrection – it’s a federal criminal statute. And, if you’re convicted of that you are – it says, ‘shall be disqualified from holding any office.’ And so, there is a federal statute on the books, but President Trump has not been charged with that. So what are we to make of that?

Up to 775,992,000 bacteria-infected mosquitoes could be released in Maui every week for the next 20 years, according to Hawaii Unites, an environmental advocacy group that last month lost its bid to require the state to conduct an environmental impact statement before allowing the controversial project to proceed.

Hawaii Unites in May 2023 sued the state in the Circuit Court of the First Circuit in Hawaii. The group’s president and founder, Tina Lia, told The Defender:

“These biopesticide lab-altered mosquitoes are already being released in East Maui. Hawaii Unites has taken the state to court seeking a ruling to require an environmental impact statement for the project and comprehensive studies of the risks.”

She said Hawaii Unites describes itself as “a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation and protection of our environment and natural resources,” with a focus on “protecting the health of Hawai‘i’s people, wildlife, and the ‘āina from the State of Hawaii’s biopesticide bacteria-infected mosquito experiment.”

According to the group’s lawsuit, the state did not perform a sufficient environmental impact study prior to the launch of the project. Last year, state residents submitted 291 pages of public comments, both for and against the project.

“The final environmental assessment for this project is insufficient under the Hawai‘i Environmental Policy Act,” Lia said. “[It] fails to describe mitigation measures or biosecurity protocols for the mosquitoes, and the discussion of alternatives is inadequate.”

According to Lia, the Birds, Not Mosquitoes partnership claims it plans to suppress southern house mosquitoes that transmit avian malaria to native birds by rendering male mosquitoes — which carry the Wolbachia bacterium that causes avian malaria — unable to reproduce.

The technology, Wolbachia incompatible insect technique (IIT), previously was endorsed by Gates Philanthropy Partners, an arm of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, although there does not appear to be a direct link between these organizations and the Hawaii ongoing project.

An expert who testified on behalf of Hawaii Unites warned that the project, far from mitigating mosquito-borne illness, may lead to bacterial spread, the invasion of lab-altered mosquitoes into unintended areas and other environmental consequences.

But the court disagreed, ruling that the final environmental assessment “was compiled in good faith and set forth sufficient information to enable the [Board of Land and Natural Resources] to consider fully the environmental factors involved and to make a reasoned decision after balancing the risks of harm to the environment against the benefits to be derived from the proposed action.”

Court did not acknowledge ‘serious concerns’ of expert witness

According to the lawsuit, “documentation and studies from several sources, including government agencies, confirm that the experiment may not even work for its intended purpose and has the potential for significant environmental impacts.”

The lawsuit also noted that the IIT method has never been tried in Hawaii, while “the

specific experimental technique planned for use in East Maui has never been tried before anywhere in the world.”

According to the lawsuit, the regions of Maui where the release will take place include “the fragile ecosystems of East Maui’s Haleakalā National Park, Ko‘olau Forest Reserve, Hāna Forest Reserve, Hanawī Natural Area Reserve, Kīpahulu Forest Reserve, Makawao Forest Reserve, and Waikamoi Preserve,” as well as privately managed lands.

“At the highest frequency, this could result in over 807 billion mosquitoes released in one of the most unique and fragile ecosystems in the world,” the lawsuit stated. “Contrary to the assertions in the [final environmental assessment], the plan could actually pose serious risks to native birds, wildlife, the ‘āina, and public health.”

The State of Hawaii refuted these claims in its motion for summary judgment, filed Dec. 22, 2023.

Hawaii Unites on Jan. 9 filed a 70-page memorandum further detailing the group’s arguments, but First Circuit Court Judge John M. Tonaki granted summary judgment in favor of the state.

Lia told The Defender there are “several issues” with the ruling should the group decide to appeal Tonaki’s decision.

Lia said that there are significant differences between what was proposed in the final environmental assessment and what is currently being implemented in East Maui. For example, she said the group believes mosquitoes are being released solely by helicopter rather than drones, which is inconsistent with the release system described in the environmental assessment.

“This means that helicopters are flying closer to the tree canopy than the level stated in the FEA [final environmental assessment], increasing the potential for adverse impacts such as noise disturbances; nesting, breeding, and roosting disturbances; helicopter rotor wash; accidents and collisions; and wildland fires,” she said.

According to Lia, Tonaki disregarded the testimony of an expert witness, tropical disease and vector expert Dr. Lorrin Pang, head of Hawaii’s District Health Office for Maui, who testified as a private citizen on behalf of Hawaii Unites “about the state’s lack of study of the risks of the project.”

Lia said:

“The court failed to acknowledge Dr. Pang’s serious concerns about horizontal transmission of introduced bacteria, biopesticide wind drift of lab-altered mosquitoes into unintended areas, superinfection of mosquitoes with multiple bacteria strains, increased pathogen infection and disease-spreading capability in mosquitoes, and the experimental nature of the project — all issues that were insufficiently addressed or missing entirely from the FEA, and facts material to the lawsuit.”

Project enjoys powerful backing

According to Lia, the U.S. Department of the Interior provided more than $30 million for the avian malaria phase of the state’s plan. The project also has secured more than $14 million from the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act enacted in 2021 and an additional $16 million through President Joe Biden’s 2023 Investing in America Agenda to Prevent the Imminent Extinction of Hawaiian Forest Birds.

“Grants, partnerships with mainland universities, and public and private funding are anticipated to incentivize the use of lab-altered mosquito technology in Hawai‘i well into the future,” she said.

Birds, Not Mosquitoes states that the project is funded through a mix of public and private donors, including anonymous donors, including the American Bird Conservancy, Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, The Nature Conservancy, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

Previous funders included “the Hawaiʻi Invasive Species Council and anonymous private donors.”

Another organization that partners in the project, the Kauai Forest Bird Recovery Project, lists Corteva Agriscience as one of its partners. Corteva Agriscience is a conglomerate formed via the merger of Dow AgroSciences and DuPont/Pioneer and owns many patents for the CRISPR gene-editing technology.

Notably though, the mosquitoes in use in the Hawaii project are not known to be genetically modified.

In a March 2022 interview with Gates Philanthropy Partners, Scott O’Neill, Ph.D., founder of the World Mosquito Program, praised the abilities of Wolbachia, the bacterium now in use in the Hawaii project, which he said is “safe for humans because it thrives in honeybees, butterflies, moths, and fruit flies,” as they are “part of our food chain.”

O’Neill added:

“What makes Wolbachia a medical miracle is the fact that when it is introduced into Aedes aegypti [mosquitoes], it effectively blocks the capacity of many of the viruses that make people sick from growing in the mosquito. And if the viruses can’t replicate, they can’t be transmitted to humans.

“Our team successfully introduced a strain of Wolbachia taken from fruit flies into Aedes aegypti more than a decade ago, and over the past 10 years, we have shown that when Wolbachia-carrying Aedes aegypti are released into the environment, they collapse dengue transmission in that location. We are also confident that it is effective against chikungunya, Zika, and many other arboviruses based on our laboratory research.”

‘Maui is ground zero for these mosquito releases’

Lia said her group is concerned that the mosquitoes currently being released are experimental.

“The state has lied about the fact that foreign bacteria is being brought into Hawai‘i through the infection of these mosquitoes, and the mosquitoes themselves are foreign organisms that originate from outside the islands. The state has also lied about the documentation showing that up to 3,103 lab-altered female mosquitoes that bite, breed and spread disease are allowed to be released weekly on Maui,” Lia added.

There was never a purer demonstration of how traitorous Democrats are about “defending democracy,” or whatever corny phrase they like to use, than what just happened at the Supreme Court.

At the very end of oral arguments in the Colorado case determining whether the state had the right to remove former President Donald Trump’s name from the 2024 ballot,Justice Samuel Alito askedthe state’s solicitor general, Shannon Stevenson,what’s going to happen if other states “retaliate” by, say, removing Joe Biden from theirs. Elected officials in at least six states have suggested it as a course of action.

It’s an obvious question that Stevenson either wasn’t prepared for or knew it would expose her state’s case as a tragic joke. “Your honor,I think we have to have faith in our systemthat people will follow their election processes appropriately, that they will take realistic views of what insurrection is under the 14th Amendment,” she said. “Courts will review those decisions, this court may review some of them.” (No one has faith in system at all)

What she said nextshould have resulted in her being laughed out of the room. “But,” she said,“I don’t think that this court should take those threats too seriouslyin its resolution of this case.”

Alito challenged Stevensonon whether she thought the suggestion of retaliation, coming from places like Florida, Arizona, and Georgia, all potentially swing states in the next election, was truly unfounded.

“Um, I thinkwe have processes—” she said, before being interrupted.

“We should proceed on the assumption that it’s not a serious threat?”said Alito.

Stevenson said there are “institutions in place” that should “handle” such matters.Asked to specify which institutions, she said, “Ourstates, their own electoral rules, the administrators who enforce those rules.” She also said voters would have to rely on “courts.” (Wow what a stupid answer, considering how many states are run by corrupt dems. There are no institutions except the SC)

In essence, to believe this entire case by Democrats is an effort to safeguard democracy,rather than rig an election, is to trust that Republicans would never dare try doing the same. If they did,it would ruin Democrats’ plot.Alternatively, if such threats were made good, we should expect enough opposition to render them neutral…

But there’s a long way to go before the election. Attitudes change, and they will rapidly if Colorado is successful and other Democrat states decide to follow the example of unilaterally determining Trump is ineligible to run for a second term, all because he rejected the accuracy of election results (as Democrats do on a routine basis).

The media’s fixation on the Colorado case has focused solely on the legal merits of the case, when the more urgent matter has always been not what happens if it’s ruled legal to keep Trump off a ballot, butwhat it means for future democratic elections if he is.

There’s a reasonuntil recentlyit was not only abnormal but unthinkable in America for one political party to use the justice system to exterminate its opponent.The reason is self-evident— mutually assured destruction. If they can do it to us, we can do it to them. It’s what they do in the Congo and every other war-torn state across the globe.

Alito intentionally invoked that perilous likelihood. Stevenson’s response — “I don’t think that this court should take those threats too seriously” —showed just how seriouslyDemocrats take “defending democracy.”

By merely asking for examples, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas calmly destroyed respondents’ argument for disqualifying former President Donald Trump from Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary ballot.

The moment came on Thursday morning, during oral arguments on Trump’s appeal to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s Dec. 19 decision to keep him off the Centennial State’s 2024 primary ballot. Colorado’s highest court claimed in its ruling that the former president can be “disqualified” from holding office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which stipulates that “[n]o person” who has previously sworn an oath as an officer of the United States and has “engaged in insurrection or rebellion shall” serve in any of an enumerated list of offices of the United States.

The president and vice president are not included in this list of positions.

During Thursday’s hearing, respondents’ attorney Jason Murray argued that Trump incited the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, and therefore, engaged in insurrection. He also claimed that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment uses broad language, and thus that states possess the authority to include the presidency — and by default, Trump — as one of the positions eligible for disqualification.

Contrary to respondents’ assertion,Trump has not been convicted of any crimes, let alone insurrection, as Justice Brett Kavanaugh pointed out.

When given the opportunity to probe Murray’s arguments,Thomas asked him to provide the high court with “contemporaneous examples” of states disqualifying national candidates(such as those running for president) from the ballot in the years following the 14th Amendment’s adoption. Murrayfailed to provide the high court’s most senior justice with a specific example, instead citing an 1868 instance involving Georgia’s then-governor, who refused to certify the results of a congressional election because the winning candidate was “disqualified” under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

Murray then attempted to argue that “it’s not surprising” there are few examples because the ballots were not the same back then as they are today. “Candidates were either write-in or they were party ballots, so the states didn’t run the ballots in the same way, and there wouldn’t have been a process for determining before an election whether a candidate was qualified,” Murray claimed. (does this answer, even make sense?

Thomas, however, did not appear convinced by the attorney’s arguments.

“It would seem that particularly after Reconstruction and after the Compromise of 1877 and during the period of Redeemers, that you would have that kind of conflict,” Thomas said. “There were a plethora of Confederates still around, there were any number of people who would continue to either run for state offices or national offices. So, that would suggest thatthere would at least be a few examples of national candidates being disqualified, if your reading is correct.”

Murray attempted to weasel out of the justice’s questioning by saying there were “national candidates who were disqualified by Congress refusing to seat them,” but was quickly cut off by Thomas, who noted “that’s not this case.”

“Other than the example I gave, no,”Murray admitted. “States certainly wouldn’t have the authority to remove a sitting federal officer.”

“So, what was the purpose of Section 3?” Thomas rebutted. “The concern was that the former Confederate states would continue being bad actors and the effort was to prevent them from doing this, and you’re saying that, ‘Well, this also authorizes states to disqualify candidates.’ So, what I’m asking you for, if you are right,what are the examples?”

Murray again avoided answering the question, instead arguing there are examples of states excluding candidates from state office. Thomas interjected, saying he “understand[s]” states control state affairs but that Colorado’s case before SCOTUS is about disqualifying “national candidates.”

“What I would like to know, is do you have any examples of this?”Thomas asked.

Unable to provide a definitive answer to Thomas’ question, Murray fell back on his talking point that “elections worked differently back then.”

Supreme Court JusticeKetanji Brown Jackson quickly abandoned her “insurrection” questioningon Thursday when former President Donald Trump’s lawyer Jonathan Mitchell pointed out that the term, although used widely by corporate media, Democrats, and Colorado’s lawyers, does not accurately describe the events of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

The exchange occurred during oral arguments for the presidential frontrunner’s challenge to the Colorado Supreme Court’s December 2023 ruling affirming Democrats’ decision to remove Trump from the Centennial State’s 2024 primary ballot.

After going back and forth with Mitchell several times about what constitutes eligibility for constitutional disqualification from holding office,Jackson pivoted to the definition of insurrection.

In a question about “the violent attempts of the petitioner’s supporters in this case to ‘halt the count’ on January 6 qualified as an insurrection as defined by Section 3,” Jackson asked Mitchell to clarify his position on whether or not Trump engaged in “insurrection” during the Capitol riot in 2021.

Jackson clearly sourced her framing from the corporate mediaand Democrats who, mere minutes into the 2021 Capitol riot, deemed the bedlam a criminal product of Trump.

They immediately lumped the patriotic, law-abiding citizens with concerns about the 2020 election’s legitimacy protesting in D.C. with the people who vandalized Capitol property. Big Tech weaponized this mischaracterization to justify its censorship of Trump’s social media calls for peace. President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice also adopted the sweeping insurrection accusations as its primary motivation to prosecute any and every one of its political enemies in or near the federal building that day.

“I read your opening brief to acceptthat those events counted as an insurrection but then your reply seemed to suggest that they were not,” Jackson said. (She just admitted she can’t read or cognize what she is reading)

“We never accepted or conceded in our opening briefthat this was an insurrection,” Mitchell retorted. “What we said in our opening brief was President Trump did not engage in any act that can plausibly be characterized as insurrection.”

Jackson, unsatisfied with Mitchell’s prompt rejection of her assertion, doubled down.

“So why would it not be?” Jackson pressed. “What is your argument that it’s not? Your reply brief says that it wasn’t because, I think you say, it did not involve an organized attempt to overthrow the government.”

Mitchell conceded “an organized concerted effort to overthrow the government of the United States through violence” is one of the defining factors of an insurrection but said Trump’s actions never met that standard.

“My point isthat a chaotic effort to overthrow the government is not an insurrection?”Jackson asked.

“Wedidn’t concede that it’s an effort to overthrow the government either, Justice Jackson,” Mitchell replied. “None of these criteria were met.”

“This was a riot. It was not an insurrection,” Mitchell concluded. “The events were shameful criminal violence, all of those things, but did not qualify as insurrection as that term is used in Section Three.”

Mitchell continued but wasinterrupted by Jackson who hurriedly ended her questioningtime.

Meta blacklists Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei

The tech giant says it prohibits people with a “violent mission” or those “engaged in violence”

Meta has banned multiple Facebook and Instagram accounts belonging to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, accusing him of breaching policies regarding “dangerous individuals and organizations.”

The social media company confirmed the bans in a statement to multiple news outlets on Thursday, with Middle East Eye reporting that accounts in both English and Farsi had been disabled.

”We have removed these accounts for repeatedly violating our Dangerous Organizations & Individuals policy,” a Meta spokesperson told AFP and other news agencies.

While the spokesperson did not say exactly how Khamenei’s accounts had run afoul of that policy, the move comes after repeated calls by pro-Israel groups to take action against the Iranian leader’s online presence in the wake of the Israel-Hamas war. Tehran has denied involvement in the Palestinian militant group’s October 7 attack on Israel, but has voiced strong support for Hamas and Palestinians more broadly amid the latest conflict.

Meta says it does not allow “organizations or individuals that proclaim a violent mission or are engaged in violence to have a presence on our platforms,” adding that it will also “remove glorification, support and representation of various dangerous organizations and individuals.”

Khamenei’s Farsi-language Instagram page had more than 5 million followers, while the English version boasted more than 200,000. His former Facebook page appears to have had a smaller presence, with around 16,000 followers.

Several verified accounts under Khamenei’s name remain active on X (formerly Twitter), including handles that post in multiple different languages. In the wake of the October 7 terrorist attack, the Ayatollah declared that “the cancer of the usurper Zionist regime will be eradicated at the hands of the Palestinian people and the Resistance forces throughout the region,” with X later stating the post would “remain accessible” for the “public’s interest.”

In a Congressional hearing last spring, Gil Cisneros, then-Under Secretary for Military Readiness, announced that the Pentagon was closing its newly formed Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within its K-12 school system and reassigning its controversial DEI chief after a ten-month internal investigation.

Chat rooms to facilitate teacher-student conversations that are closed off to parents about sexuality and gender, and likely without their knowledge or consent.

Engaging four-year-olds in LGBTQ+ conversations. Elementary schools are the “perfect time” to “really show students the diversity of the gender expression and gender activity.”

Solidarity with the neo-Marxist Black Lives Matter organization to encourage teachers to “challenge our beliefs, examine our own biases, and reflect on how we need to evaluate the structures and systems in our classrooms.”

Video content on “dissent” and “equity” to “help educators facilitate classroom conversations and much-needed discussions about implicit bias and systemic racism, human rights, equity, social justice, dissent, protest, and empathy."

Marxist activism to dismantle systems of “power” and “privilege.” Suggesting a refusal to teach a “white-washed” curriculum and instead teach “social justice rather than heroes, holidays, and celebrations.”

A teaching handbook that recommends “critical conversations” with students about race, identity, and privilege and the way “injustice” affects our lives and society. These “explicit conversations” provoke “strong emotions” and crying students are expected.

Under seismic survey proposals being considered by the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management – the lead regulator of oil and gas exploration – ships would tow arrays of seismic airguns, which produce compressed air bubbles under extreme pressure to create sound. Hydrophones towed near the surface record sound that bounces back from the ocean floor to create a 3-D image of geological formations that hint at oil or gas deposits deep in the seabed.

"There's no need to panic, but if people are allowing seismic testing over munition dumps, nobody can say exactly what's out there, and what is going to be the impact of blasting it," Barton told FLORIDA TODAY. "Nothing good can come of blasting rotten ammunition dumps with seismic cannons."

Earlier this week, he mistakenly claimed to talk to two world leaders who have been dead for decades. And a Monmouth University poll last fall found a stunning 76 percent of voters think Biden is too old to effectively serve a second term.

The politics of age aside, the report also gave an unflattering view of Biden’s conduct, concluding that the president knowingly and willfully kept classified information of the highest sensitivity and was aware of it as early as 2017.

Hur found that the materials Biden secreted from the White House were highly sensitive, and included "marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan and notebooks containing Mr. Biden’s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence source and methods."

Two of those documents – one classified “secret” and the other “confidential” – are likely to become the focus of Biden’s impeachment inquiry.

Both documents involve conversations Biden had with Ukraine’s prime minister in December 2015, the very month the then-vice president began an effort to use the withholding of $1 billion in U.S. aid to coerce that country to fire its chief prosecutor, who at the time was investigating the Burisma Holdings energy firm that was paying Hunter Biden and his business partner millions.

“Oh, yeah, it's like, let's add that one to the very long list of documents that we need to get our hands on,” Rep Eli Crane, R-Ariz., told the "Just the News, No Noise" television show Thursday evening when asked about the classified Ukraine memos. “You know, we're gonna continue to try and expose what this President and his family have been doing. This is just one more document. It just goes to show that we can't rest on what we've done in the past. We got to keep plowing forward. The American people deserve it.”

Dozens of Republicans said Thursday night that Hur’s decision not to charge Biden – because he was feeble – even though there was willful evidence of keeping and sharing classified secrets provided fresh proof of a dual system of justice that has charged Trump for similar crimes. Those arguments also found an ally among Biden supporters, like Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz.

"You can't have two different laws for similar acts," Dershowitz told Just the News. "You have to have one single standard of justice."

Alina Habba, one of Trump's lawyers, told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday night she expects Trump's legal team to use the Hur report to argue the 45th president has been subjected to unequal justice.

Reps. McCormick and Crane agreed the issue of dual justice is growing louder, even breaking recently into sports and entertainment culture where former critics of Trump are now arguing Democrats have gone too far.

“I think that once again, we see the double standard. And I think this is why you continue to see the polls go the way that they are for President Trump,” Crane said. “They realize the heavy double double standard across the board that, you know, he's been up against. And I think it's going to really hurt President Biden come November.”

Added McCormick: “This is an unbelievable double standard of justice, and it shouldn't be excused.”

Prosecutors Decline To Charge ‘Elderly’ Biden Over ‘Poor Memory’

Federal prosecutors who investigated President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents declined to press charges despite discovering top-secret records in his Delaware home’s “garage, offices, and basement den.”

On Thursday, Special Counsel Robert Hur unsealed his report to the Department of Justice (DOJ), concluding “that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter” despite records found related to foreign policy in Afghanistan and handwritten notes “implicating sensitive intelligence.” Prosecutors declined to press charges, in part, because “Biden would likely present himself to the jury, as he did during our interview with him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

“Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt,” Hur’s team wrote in the nearly 400-page report. “It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him by — by then a former president well into his eighties — of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

Prosecutors included pictures of where the documents were discovered in Biden’s private residence.

Biden was exonerated despite false statements to federal prosecutors, who concluded that the president risked disclosing government secrets to uncredentialed people.

While Biden escapes charges for classified documents discovered across multiple locations, former President Donald Trump faces a 40-count indictment from the Justice Department over an alleged mishandling of records marked classified.

“Mr. Biden’s memory,” Hur’s report said Thursday, “appeared to have significant limitations.”

In the president’s interview with the special counsel’s office, Biden “did not remember when he was vice president,” forgetting both when his term ended and began.

“If it was 2013 — when did I stop being vice president?” the president reportedly asked in his first interview with Hur. “In 2009, am I still vice president?” Biden asked in the second.

Biden also forgot when his son, Beau, had died, “even within several years.” “And his memory appeared hazy when describing the Afghanistan debate that was once so important to him,” the report read.

The facts surrounding Beau Biden’s death have become a routine point of confusion for the president, who lost his son to brain cancerin 2015. President Biden has repeatedly claimed his son died in the Iraq War, which ended in 2011.

“My son was a major in the U.S. Army,” Biden said during a speech to troops in Japan last spring. “We lost him in Iraq.”

Biden had previously made the false claim in November of the previous year at a speech in South Florida. The president confused the war in Iraq with the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine during a talk where he was supposed to be focused on Social Security and Medicare.

“They talk about inflation … inflation is a worldwide problem right now because of a war in Iraq and the impact on oil and what Russia’s doing … excuse me, the war in Ukraine,” the president said. “I’m thinking about Iraq because that’s where my son died.”

Before that, Biden claimed Beau died in Iraq during a speech in Colorado just weeks earlier.
