I'd hate to be that guy, but can any of you help me in identifying this tree?
I live in Northern Central Massachusetts. Everything is just starting to turn fall, and this tree right near me has these red berries that small like ripe apricots. Now, I'm not gonna eat random tree berries. But I trust your knowledge.
This picture has one of the red berries, a leaf, and some bark. Does anybody know what tree this is?

Kousa, berries are edible, but the taste varies wildly from tree to tree, commonly have bitter skin. They're usually too seedy to snack on and said seeds cause diarrhea if swallowed. Recommend you make jam out of them.
