Hi /out/. This is the first time I'm posting on this board,so please don't scream at me if it's not in this board's competence. The stuff I want to talk about is flashlights. They're like my little non-sexual fetish, and I decided I want a big one.All stuff I found was too damn expensive, until I came across Skyray king. This piece of shit I'm talking about is like $75 with batteries (4x 4000 mAh) and charger,it has 9 XM-L T6 LEDs,and they advise it has 15000 lumens. That's impossible, since one T6 led emits maximum of 910 lumens @ 10 watts. But still,it should be a lot of light. On full charge it should work for 210 minutes,so if they don't lie about the batteries capacity, that should mean it has 24 watts and around 2300 lumens (that's what I calculated,it's very estimated, but still closer to reality than 15000).So,does anyone here have some experience with those pieces of cheap aluminium, optionally alternatives for maximally around $100 with batteries and charger? Thanks.

Am I doing it right? This thing is actually reasonably bright for what it is

It's a small plastic faggot sitting on the top of some 9v battery?

I carry a HDS flashlight which cost close to $200 but it is worth every penny.

Before you bite the bullet on getting a flashlight (no-name IMO, since I have been active at candlepowerforums going on +5yrs) I would take a look at the following sites:

http://www.flashlightreviews.ca/
>'Selfbuilt' site for his reviews on certain flashlights. He is a member at CPF.

candlepowerforums.com
>website dedicated to flahslights, production and custom

http://edcforums.com/threads/what-is-your-current-edc-flashlight-part-three.119042/page-67
>flashlight edc (porn) thread

Also, that rating of 15000 lumens is bullshit, that is not OTF (on the front) lumens.

Also, what type of batteries do you want to use (AA, CR123, 18650s?) is important as well. Also keep in mind that if you want something 'hi-powered' for whatever reason more than likely it will be carried in a bag or left in your auto until needed.

I personally carry single cr123/rcr123 cell lights and a backup AAA keychain light (thrunite Ti). But if you get overwhelmed, especially after going to CPF, check out these manufacturers in no particular order to get a start:

HDS
Surefire
Nitecore
Thrunite
Foursevens
Fenix

Get a Zebralight SC62 (also another brand popular on CPF) and a couple of AW 18650 protected batteries and a charger and "call it a night" :).
