It's killing me. I'm looking for bow woods, and I have this tree in my yard (wood's probably not suitable, very stiff, very strong, though. Using it to make a couple singlesticks for fencing.).
I'm including a picture of a cluster of leaves I took. The wood is pale, but turns yellowish as it dries. The bark is smooth, and if carefully done when first cut, can be peeled off whole.

I'm guessing you've got trees to spare if you want to build a bow. Count me jealous.
Does it have any seed pods, nuts, or berries? I won't know since I'm not from the area, but someone else might. Where I live a big favorite is catalpa, with its lightning growth, huge leaves, and long bean pods.
