How fucked would the monsters be if instead of a kid they were dealing with a killer robot?

Robot has no SOUL, therefore no Determination. He can't harm monsters and can't SAVE/LOAD, so he's fucked when he reaches Asgore.

Flowey was soulless and yet he was still able to fight you in the beginning. If anything, Quote can only take one hit.

Determination being channeled through physical attacks is what harms the monsters. Determination comes from human SOULs, which is what Alphys extracted the DT from. The reason Flowey could harm Frisk was because he could use magic. Magic comes from a monster's body/essence, not their SOUL. I don't think magic can harm monsters, though (they put it in birthday cards and stuff), and either way a robot is not a monster so probably can't use it anyway.

Wouldn't a killer robot be technically a weapon, like a knife, if a human was channeling their determination through it?

I suppose. But it doesn't necessarily even have to be a "weapon". Frisk caused damage to monsters with a plastic knife, a pair of ballet shoes, and a notebook presumably filled with hate speech.
If the robot has no Determination, it can't cause damage either way.

What if the gun was made with determination?
"You know, I've long believed that one's weapons should be crafted by oneself. That one who fights with another's weapons and considers that force his own is witless. That one who blames his tools for that which his own power cannot achieve is a fool.
However…
When I see this gun before me that you have used so exhaustively, it moves this man to tears. To think such thorough use were possible even before the gun's completion…"
"In this world, there exists a balance between those who are creators and those who are users.
I knew that, of course, but it took your help for me to experience this firsthand. From now on, I vow to dedicate myself to the side of creation. The labor involved becomes joy when I know there are those who will enjoy my work to the utmost."
Who's to say Frisk's determination didn't come from the kids' influence through their clothing and weapons?

Isn't the definition of determination "the firmness of purpose". A robot would have a firmness in their purpose because they are programmed to follow that function through and through.
However, you could say a malfunctioning robot or in other words a robot gaining some sentience but now without any purpose wouldn't damage a monster.

It's very well possible that the Determination of the previous users remained in those items. In fact, Frisk's power might be less their own, and more an innate ability to seamlessly adapt their own body to the Determination of others.
In fact, if it were their own Determination, it would make more sense that their own clothes and items (bandage and stick) would have the highest ATK and DEF because they are their personal items. Yet, items found deep in the Underground, that they have no connection to or affinity for, are the strongest.
Maybe Frisk is just the vessel for the strength of others.

Is that how it works?
Is it Determination being channeled through physical attacks that causes the harm, or just the physical attack itself? I know that having a physical body and having determination are linked together, but how can you say it's one or the other?
I think you're making a lot of assumptions here. If monsters can only be hurt by determination, then how does someone like Gaster die? How do monsters 'fall down' if they can't be injured? Why are the monsters in the ruins scared of Toriel if she can't hurt them?
I'd ask why Toriel could hurt Flowey, but Flowey is kinda in the middle between monster and human, so he may be an exception to the rule.
You're basically saying that monsters are invincible to everything except humans here, which is blatantly untrue.
I personally think a robot would be less effective than a person, because it lacks the SOUL and emotions to really hate monsters, but would otherwise be a threat.
At least until a ghost possesses it.

It's definitely the Determination because in at least one case (the Empty Gun) there IS no physical attack; Frisk is firing bullets of pure Determination from it. In either case, a little kid who can barely knock over a tomato can hardly be considered a physical threat to monsters who, magic body or none, can suplex boulders.
As for the "falling down", I always got the impression that it was part of the natural life-cycle of monsters that aren't Boss Monsters. It's just their version of old age or something.

Are we sure Frisk isn't just beating the monsters with the gun; pistol whipping them into submission, one might say?
And the tomato is simply a joke, it's not indicative of Frisk's actual strength. It's like Mad Dummy. If you have lots of LV, then Frisk attacks him full force and knocks him backwards. I think it's more Frisk not wanting to actually destroy the tomato and risk ruining the counter of the monster who was kicking his ass a second ago and has a fiery temper.
And if Determination does determine damage, then surely Frisk would be walking around one shot-ing monsters. Or Flowey would be a bigger threat to the monsters in the underground and simply take the souls from Asgore in the first place.

Frisk would probably find him half melted and realize that the Doc was experimenting with determination and creating Amalgamates to invade the surface.
