Monarchs are basically dictators who believe their power comes from God; I find most kings and queens quite hypocritical because they usually have the best security force protecting them 24/7. I don't think monarchs actually believe their own bullshit because if they did they would trust Gods to protect them.

No amount of bullet proof glass will protect you from God. I don't know what this is supposed to be about; are we to arrogantly ask God for protection from murderers when we can buy bullet-proof glass? Don't be stupid.
Also no, monarchy doesn't need to be religious; for instance the Al-Assad family is not religious as a matter of state, but it is a hereditary monarchy (an embattled one at the moment, but still a monarchy).

How is having security from assassins hypocritical when someone (on their own free-will) could pick up a gun and kill the monarch? Do you think God will magically decide to change that potential killer’s mind or stop the bullet? I swear atheists are pants-on-head retarded when it comes to this stuff.

>Do you believe in God?
Yes
>than why use bullet proof glass when God can just save you
First off, no one is entitled to a "get-out-of-jail-free" lightening bolt. God doesn't work that way.
>than how does He work?
He gave the idea of bulletproof glass to the inventor of the glass so people can reap the benefits of having bullet proof glass
Secondly here is a nice parable to hopefully illustrate for you how this works in a way you can understand, a greentext:
>be me
>faithful God fearing christian in NOLA
>I love God so much I know He will save me if harm ever comes my way
>news man says a big nasty hurricane is headed twords my house in a couple days and says I should GTFO
>it's okay because God will save me
>it starts to rain and this nice policeman knocks on my door and says I should GTFO
>I tell him no because God will save me
>my house begins to flood and the Cajun Navy spots me on my roof and offers to ferry me to safety
>I tell them no because God will save me
>The flooding gets really bad and completely submerges my roof and I am floating on some debris
>The Coast Guard in a helicopter spots me and trys to evac me into the helicopter
>I tell him no because God will save me
>than a friendly alligator sneaks up behind me and eats me
> I arrive at the pearly gates and talk to St. Peter
<"what gives bro? I thought God was supposed to save me."
>"You see anon, He tried multiple times to save you. First He got that weather man to warn you days in advance. Than he sent all those people to try and rescue you, but you stubbornly refused."
<"Ohh…fugg man…does this mean I'm going to Hell?"
>"Actually your docket is 74892019 and doesn't start for another 15 minutes. Take a seat and The Judge will be here to conduct your trial"
Also, read the Book of Ruth

>Monarchs are basically dictators who believe their power comes from God
Plenty do, but it isn't a requirement. A lot of them believed they were a god, plenty didn't believe at all. I bet that a good number just went along with Christianity for political purposes. You're being retarded if you thik that a monarch has to believe in God to be a monarch, or even a good one.
>believing in the power of God means you should never defend yourself
I bet you also think that "turn the other cheek" means to be a pussy rather than to make the other guy look like a dick because he's slapping you again with the hand that he wipes his ass with this time to remind him of his place. Also I think that Pope Francis is a devil worshipping pedophile, but him using bulletproof glass isn't due to a lack of faith (which he does lack). Though it would make him look like less of a clown if he was sitting proudly in the open.

I purposefully didn't answer that question and instead had St. Peter give him his judgement time to explicitly avoid accusations of scandal from people here. Hence why anon is going to the celestial courtroom to be judged by The Judge. I'm sorry I didn't make that obvious enough.

It is a requirement that monarchs at least pretend to believe in God; monarchs are the biggest LARPers in the world. They continue to pretend to believe because they can only have that much privilege and unchecked power if their peasants believe it comes from God.

Just like republicans continue to believe that their representatives are manifestations of the People™. Who cares? Unchecked? Who keeps the partisans in check? That's where we need a monarch to check your balance, kid. We have stupid people checking on monarchs constantly.

Personally, I wish we had monarchs like OP described. When OP talks to /monarchy/ about this and whines about unchecked power, I think OP is really talking to me as far as this board community goes. There are hardly any absolute monarchical regimes in Europe. Lest I could think of one. All monarchs in Europe probably don't think like this at all.
This really begs the question, OP… What exactly are you jiving about? Prerogatives are already stripped and restrained beyond its traditional capacity to the point where a monarch is a lackey of the parliamentary system. Popular sovereignty and a popular stance on monarchy are already embraced in the hands of monarchs who have power like Hans Adams II of Liechtenstein. Most people come to this board to cry about how most monarchies are ceremonial. I don't see this narrative you're driving OP, but I wish it was true.
>I don't think monarchs actually believe their own bullshit because if they did they would trust Gods to protect them.
That's because God sends monarchs to protect you and not the reverse. Sometimes for punishment and sometimes for reward; and this is vice versa between the monarch and his rewards and punishments. The world is a breathing place and the sovereign has every reason to keep security when the political animals skulk on the prowl. They have the Devil with them.
Also, if you don't know the difference between a dictator and a monarch, you're as dumb as a stone. This is rudimentary. Read the words for what they mean. There are differences. Even in the autocratic sense of the words, a dictator is clearly different from monarch in many ways. The only similarity I can imagine is the form of one man.
1. A hereditary monarch rules through dynasty.
A dictator rules through a one-party system.
2. A Christian hereditary monarch comes 'dei gratia' and with the wisdom of ancestors.
A dictator comes from the masses, based upon the meaning of 'DICT' and it comes to mean that the dictator dictates to the masses. The dictator is one who speaks, and the People are those who listen. The principle of dictatorship is based on this principle. A speaker who rallies to action a people.
3. A hereditary monarchy has succession from the heirs and even the absolute monarchies are usually lawful (as contradictory as it sounds to the dissenters) because they have laws securing succession. This monarchy is lawful. The autocratic monarchy is also lawful in that it is absolute with restraint, and the monarch is the embodiment of justice.
The dictator has the tenets of an ideology to adhere to and whatever country they stand with. I'm not too hard on dictatorships.
4. Royalty is usually more monarchical whereas the dictatorship has a democratic edge to their single ruler approach.

God is obvious to me.
I am, therefore the prerequisite rules for consciousness were in place before the Universe was. Ergo, everything has to be explainable by a hyper-simple infinity of potentiality. Or in other words, the minimum actual Source of being has to explain the maximum potential of this Universe.
'Infinite omnipotence with goals' is required to have all everything, especially since the concept of God exists, as does the potential for spiritual growth.

I haven't been that religious myself lately, and I think most monarchs never actually believed in one (fucking their own siblings was just a method to keep all of the inheritance for themselves, and away "from the mutts").
Considering that the Church is responsible for more human atrocities than anything China did in the past 100 years is proof enough.
I have 3 theorems how it all works:
1. They never actually believed in one, but just used it to justify doing basically anything just to get "the commoners" off of their backs (like using alcohol as an excuse to cheat on your wife, instead they say that "god told them to do it").
2. They're just as dumb (if not dumber with all of the inbreeding) as the people they forsake because they're the puppets of the Church. The Church was always the true European Ruler since they made all art and science illegal unless you pledge your knowledge to them (like Soviet Thought Police). 700 Years of that is why Martin Luther's 95 reasons, and the French Revolution post-terror, are still valid.
3. There was never truly a monarchy without sin since the planet existed. If you can name one kingdom/nation that didn't kill/pillage/rape anyone just because, I'll give you 2 dollars. For thousands of years, we believed that black and brown people were beneath us just because they're willing to work harder for some food (while we kept watching and calling them animals whose only existence is to satisfy our own materialistic needs, even if they weren't such a sinless people themselves). That's why I value individuality in people who think for themselves what is wrong and what isn't.
In short, there was never religion at play with kings and queens, it was all just another Game of Thrones for absolute control over the commoners and their own selfish needs.
As the old saying goes:
"Being in charge is better than being a bitch who keeps his mouth shut and does what he's told."

Even if that were true, and even if there wasn't more nuance to it then you make out, it wouldn't matter since those "atrocities" are just things you dislike.

I don't think you are right. Dictatorship is a republic with one authoritair leader, and monarchy is a very hierarchical system with an absolute leader or a "shallow state" which is limiting him/her. A king/queen can also not be a hypocrite, because then is the country going to collapse in max. few decades.
A good king doesn't also need any protection, because his always loyal and honest to his subjects, unless their is no other way out for the country's profit.
