Because the media and generally the public is consumed with republican mentality. For common-born women, most people didn't give a damn for traditional institutions reinforcing aristocracy. They wanted royals to become more prole, so to speak, and wanted royals to do 'ordinary' things. Where were the whistle blowers then? People didn't care enough back then. Maybe decades ago it was a big deal – in the recent decades, people encouraged royals to become 'more ordinary' than aristocratic. They wanted to break social barriers more and more.

Think of this on a social level. More and more ordinary people are adopting interracial marriages and the religion of Multiculturalism™ is telling The People™ to become proud of it. There is strong number of people who just embrace it now. We are in this Age of Decadence. The institution of the monarchy, with its design alone being cemented in the family, can only hold back the barriers of these decadent ideologues.
