Girl on left’s foot is at too harsh an angle and looks broken, our lateral malleolus us lower than our medial one which is why you can turn your foot inward a bit but can’t turn it outward (laterally) past the knee. Keep practicing,

A week late, I hope you work slow: The back leg looks like it's turned out too far. Knee down needs to be below the upper leg more. Shoulder's a little broad and that upper arm's got some meat to it, but she looks like she's supposed to be a beefy gal, so mebbe dat's intended.

I think her mid section as well is a little too long as well since you've place the lat crease a bit low, I think usually it would be where the rib cage is bending is nearer where the crease would be. at this level no amount of "shading" is going to make it look 3d. there's a fundamental lack of understanding which is form - the concept of thinking in a 3d space. you are just putting lines down corresponding with what you think a body looks like instead of what a body really is, which is the reason it's flat in the first place
honestly just draw a bunch of boxes. as much shit as drawbox gets i do recommend it for the base purpose of understanding what 3d thinking really means - when it gets to the anatomy part it starts to fall off because the creator isn't really -that- skilled at drawing but the early lessons are a godsend - he's basically taking peter han's stuff and putting it in ez-mode. check out peter han as well while you're at it
also a great read is keys to drawing by bert dodson. when you're doing studies of stuff it's going to help by actually observing accurately. and speaking of accuracy, "Accuracy" by dorian iten is also a great program and it's free. just more help on drawing what you see vs. what you think you see. this all ties in because once you can do studies accurately, those boxes and vases and fruit you draw are gonna come out not flat and nice looking and 3d, which you can then extrapolate into your personal works. godspeed brother

Use a direct light source and stick with it. the image on the left is a good example. The one on the right not so much.
Like >>12768 said, it might help feel less empty if there were more contrast in the image. A strong light makes heavy shadows, it might help some parts of the body stand out more than others.
I think more than that these images by themselves are just okay for reference material or so, but I think they might feel less flat with a tweak of framing or perspective.

Not him, but the way you have a rim light around the edges by shadow makes everything look glossy. It looks good on the shoes, which you’d expect to be high gloss, and believable on the top if it’s a shiny fabric. Her ample furry ass and legs should have a flatter shading to them because they’re fur. Same with the socks, which are also happen to be white. I’d lighten the shadows on white or pull them back and not cover as much of the form. Cell shading like this can be more about what shapes look good and less about how shadows would realistically fall. Something I do to differentiate textures, like at the bare leg – sock line, for example, is to offset the shadow instead of having a straight line bisect. It reads better as different materials, not just a color change.”
Pic related to show what I mean. Kinda quick and sloppy from the low res I was working with. Hope I didn’t mess your fine work up too much. Overall, really appealing work, bro.

anatomy feels off. especially eyes, how they line up with rest of face, flatness of the face, the neck and definition shown in relation to the turning head, and general curvature. Linework/inking could help a lot of the definition and flatness. Just making souple lines thicker on outside isnt enough. The same line should have variation in thickness - not just be one uniform long thick or thin line.
If you want to work on rendering, work with 3 colors - black, white and a midtone. Add 2 midtones when you get comfortable with 3 colors for a total of 5 (black, white, 3 midtones). Dont use color at all until you understand the basic rendering. it only hides your mistakes and once you understand b&w with midtones, you understand all colors and just need basic color theory to pick the different colors for your midtones.
I would use reference photos, too. a navy fatigue hoodie isnt going to have identical lighting and absorption/reflection of light as a pink and white t-shirt. the fatigues shouldnt wash out from light and should barely reflect light, as its mostly dark colors (reflect less light). The white streaks and giant highlights dont make sense to me with the type of fabric and colors.
Finally, the lack of folds in the clothing hurts the coloring. It doesnt look right to me because there should be more variation in rendering due to folds that arent appearing on a baggy hoodie on a slight frame. If you learn drapery/folds of clothing, the rendering of shadows on those clothes becomes much, much easier. You can practically cheat and just shade the side of the folds relative the light source.
Try do color something like this DBZ Fighterz image. Note how the lighting is rendered and the folds of her shirt. I converted it to greyscale for reference. This would be basic rendering with only 2 or 3 midtones. The idea is to identify these midtone (and highlight/shadow) areas. With digital painting, youll eventually be blending and using more midtones, but if you cant identify the areas, it wont matter how many colors you use. Your image feels odd in choice of highlights (behind the neck/trap area where it shoudl be all shadows since light source is hitting leftmost shoulder and extremely bright on the chest, yet the back of hood is also lit and you have highlights coming near the underside of the rightmost hood where it should be shadows, the leftmost face is shaded, but light is clearly washing out the leftmost shoulder, so that side of face should be lit and rightmost should have the shading as she is turning away from the light, etc).
If you are deliberately choosing multiple angled lightsources, I would stop that and work on single lightsources from set directions first and apply more as you advance. You are obeying basic shading patterns of light midtone shadow repeat type rendering, but its difficult to find your lightsource, as described earlier.
Some more issues with lighting - bottom right is huge highlight, but side of head and hair is shaded dark, implying less light on this side of face. Top left shoulder is huge shadow, but left arm is washed out in light and huge highlight on left chest. I assume slouched shoudlers or some such, but there would be lots of reflected light from teh hoodie above it and it should still be in direct light, yet is darkest shadow on the body. Top right of hoodie is washed out in light, so maybe she's backlit, too? It should be darker with the head casting shadow if lightsource is from front left since leftmost hair has white highlight and left arm is washed out and right collar bone getting hit with light (left side shaded from jacket/angle of light) and so on.
Her face should have shadows on left side from the hanging hair, as you show. But the light is coming towards a turned face away from it. The right side of the nose should be darkest. The slight head tilt should have two sides of the nose visible - not one dark ridge line cutting off the leftmost side. We should see a bright leftmost nose, highlight on the top ridge and shadows on the rightside ridge. You have her rendered as if the lgiht is coming from the right side on her face and leftmost nose cant be seen, but her body is 3/4 view and towards the lightsource. The slight head turn should have rightside of nose away from the light. The cheek would be lit up with highlight on the inner left side of the rightmost cheek and darker as it curves back into the head and away from the light. You have the highliight directly on the cheekbone, which should be away from the light - the highlight and rendering should show that it is rounded, but instead doesnt add directionality to her face, giving it flat look.

Thank you very much for the suggestions, I will keep this in mind. I must say that it is somewhat complicated to play with the contrasts without losing the colors that one wishes to use in the piece.
I usually apply the shadows using a single color, but the effect can vary a lot in a negative way depending on the tones I choose for the piece. The versality that I achieve with colors is not much.
>>12780
>Something I do to differentiate textures, like at the bare leg – sock line, for example, is to offset the shadow instead of having a straight line bisect. It reads better as different materials, not just a color change.”
Thanks anon, I really think it's a great idea. I also thought about trying to blur the shadows a little in the most extensive areas of the body and kept them flat without rim lights. I will keep in mind the modifications you made to the piece, later I will correct both pieces. Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.

In fact, I have no intention of drawing controversial content with this type of characters, or at least, anything that has to do with porn or those weird things that I've heard and seen. Honestly, that dislikes me. I am very encouraged to draw people, but I am still not good at drawing human faces. I would like to draw women like those drawn by Eleuteri Serpieri.
With respect to these anthropomorphic female characters, I dare to draw them like pinups, like the ones that Mr. Juanjo Guarnido sometimes draws. That would be my limit.

The left arm looks to be at an odd angle but I think it might work in a finished drawing that shows it is further away but right now it just has an odd angle and looks short. Because it comes in at too much of an angle or something.
The legs look odd too. They come out too far forward, all her weight is off balance and too far in front.

When an arm is on the hip like that, it is bent. To make room for it to be at the waist height instead of having hand down by the mid thigh at rest, the arm has to bend back into space. The forearm should be bigger than the bicep since it has to be farther back in space and the forearm comes forward to place on the hip.
I cant tell where the hand sticking out is going. I want to say its closer since the collar bone is longer, implying its closer and the other shoulder is back in space. however, the upperarm is shorter than the arm that is farther back in space.
The legs are similar ot the arms. The back leg has a good length and shows it is farther back than the front leg. However, the thigh is so much larger than the one closest to us. I realize it is sideways, but it is double the width of the leg facing us. The calf is way too short considering the length of the leg compared to the one farther back in space. That back leg is broken at the knee, too. Pull the calf straight down or lessen the angle it sticks out and that will be fixed.
This image is similar to the pose, but the angle is reversed (hand on hip and bent leg are closer to us instead of farther away like in yours). The bent leg calf should be similar to this. Note how the knee is higher on the bent leg. Yours is roughly the same height, despite yours being much farther back than this example pose. Note the forearms - the one farther back is about half the length of the one closest to us. Thats the level of foreshortening your hand on hip should have since it is much farther back (or should be in this pose you have).
For the exaggeration of the pose, I would raise your backmost shoulder and left most hip. This will cause a more dynamic pose and likely fix your anatomy. Currently the collarbones are different, but the shoulders are same height and a straight line for the pose. The hips are the same. You have a large curve for the hip, but if you follow the joints, the line is straight across to the other hip joint. Look at the second image I posted with lines of motion for the shoulders and hips, etc. You want this zigzag like gesture to your pose, especially since you are stylizing your art.

I posted this on /v/ as well but here's a more successful drawing than the sailor v that I posted earlier.
I'm really happy with it overall but the arm with the visible hand should be a bit longer, the eyes shrunk another pixel or two (they were massive uguu at first) and I don't like the light on the top, there was a lot more soft light right up until the end but it just looked washed out so I changed the colour of it to something much closer to the rest. Also the clothes should wrinkle a lot more around the lifted arms and I had no idea really how to shade the visible armpit.
On the plus side I think I pulled off the cartoon sleaze tight top quite fell for being something that I havent really tried before, and I think I also pulled off expanding the hips from the reference quite well. For the longest time her face looked completely gormless and I'm happy I could somewhat save it ending up at something at least casually pretty in my opinion. The warm hair colour is pleasant too.

She looks like Haley Joel Hosment. I think you were right to shrink her eyes but you might not have pushed it enough, because their size makes them appear too close together. Just remember to observe the general "1 eye width apart" rule. I'm seeing other problems with some other parts of this drawing but I think you just need to pick a better reference next time. The forms on your reference are not clear due to sunlight making parts of her body disappear. Otherwise I think you could easily do better.

we can see the top and back half of her head. head should be on a huge tilt downward based on this. her face is completely flat relative to this. nostrils should be barely visible. far less of the eye as the socket should cover some now. eyelashes and a lower eye lid would help make her look less mannequin-like. you could alternatively flatten the top of her head.

That's a fursuiter.
You don't seem to have a great grasp on English, so I doubt you know the subtleties of internet slang. A furry is somebody who either creates furry content or participates in the furry community. What can be described as "furry content" is broad and not always agreed upon, but the core of it is anthropomorphic animals, often sexualized in some way. Drawing furry characters would get you considered a furry by most people.

kawaii, you need to push more on detail articulation. Start with hair and slowly build up on drawing a perfect body anatomy. The hair is actually more complex than what you think it is. Hair have hair lines and and each of hair lines are not symmetrical to each other. The tip of the hair section is somthing you need to pay attention. It ended with strands, short hair style ended with a lot of tiny strand. The strands can also be partially visible on top of the head as well.

The problem wasn't what you didn't stick to, it what what you did try to stick to. Like the arm that is furthest away, majorly obscured by sunlight and drawn as is. It doesn't feel like a part of her body. I can understand using the picture as what it is, a reference to what you want to create and not a copy- (which is actually how they should be used) but a bad reference makes it pointlessly difficult since you're not gathering accurate information on how to portray the shapes you want to draw. It's alright to challenge yourself, but this is not a constructive method.

Looks good, bro. The only critique I can think to give now is the darkest shadows look too dark or saturated on the light fur colors. Also want to point out the shadows and colored lineart. I use colored lineart sometimes and when the shadows & lines get close in lightness levels, the hues can clash and be distracting. I usually go in and darken the lines when that happens, but here it was easy to pull the saturation down on the (light fur) shadows a little and help both problems.

I use body parts as a reference for other part so even doing that my proportions are still fine. Yours mostly are just not the legs. From the bottom of the groin to the top of the head should be the same distance as the length of the legs, well a bit less in your case maybe, I draw women and in a different style.

are you using references or just drawing randomly? how long are you spending on each sketch? are you going for manga style proportions (heads seem to imply that, but just confirming)? some of the bodies look like children. what age are you drawing (matters for proportions)? also, a lot look like upshots. i'm not sure if that's what you are trying to achieve, so its hard to judge. maybe your perspective and proportions are way off. maybe you are just going for upshots. maybe you want stylistically to have that shape.
the first one feels too scratchy and rough to really give feedback on. i dont even get a real sense of motion. drawing a line of motion/action could help since you arent doing entire bodies and hard to judge what you were trying for. some people draw cubes rotated in planes to show the directionality of their drawings. take the first one on left - is he laying down? standing? looks like he's falling way back or we are bug's eye view/upshot on the figure. second one is similar - is the perspective on the ground looking up at them? wheres that arm going? is it in front or behind the body? is it straight? even at rest, the arm should have slight bend, but no joint visible. what were you trying to achieve with the shot? for an upshot, it looks okish. other arm isnt really discernable and the lack of hands/feet and head makes it difficult to judge. but it looks like an upshot on someone in shirt/pants. if its referenced, we need reference to tell you how well it was captured. if its from imagination, we need some scale and idea of what you were trying to achieve.
take the one on far right. is that a child's body or extreme foreshortening? it looks like the torso is coming forward and bending at waist, but lack of breasts (hips to shoulder ratio implies woman), arms and head make it difficult to judge what you are trying to achieve.
if you want feedback, post what you did, images of references, and what you are trying to achieve. how long you spent on each figure is also useful. if its just quick 30 second gestures, we will have different feedback from 5-10 mins spent on each or even 2 mins on each.

wings dont work that way. yours physically do not work. she wont fly in any universe. its not enough to 'look like wings'. feathers need to go in a certain way to provide the ability to fly. primaries, secondaries, coverts, etc come in set patterns and layer a certain way. Doesnt matter how big or small the bird is. i suggest studying birds and bats (if you want demonic/dragon/webbed-like wings - they work completely different from bird-like wings and the physics for their flight and patterns are unique to them). just learnign about the feathers and wings would be enough to make this look much better. things can be fantastical, like egyptian cat/bird/sphynx girl, but certain things should still remain grounded in reality. wings are one of these things.
i'd also consider giving bird/gryphon-like feet and the reverse joint of birds for her feet to capture more of the hybrid nature of your mash-up, but that's just a suggestion on my part.

On thing I might say is that the fluffnificent "top plane" of the wings seems to droop quite a bit lower on our left than our right despite their relatively similar highest point and similar origination from behind the contour of the shoulders. See how it's almost level with the bottom of the breast on one side and the top of the other?
Because of her fluffy arms it kind of creates a tangent on the left side with the wings and it becomes a little hard to tell that said wings are coming out from behind her back. Because you drew it yourself the obscurity might not be super obvious but maybe try squinting around and see if you can see what I mean.

This is thematically like /ic/ in that it's an art board, I think the only real difference is that it's pretty slow. Most of us don't post unless we have something to show or something to say; you might only see a handful of posts each day and on occasion none at all.
We're a pretty small community with around 10 users total so this is not a good place to promote yourself, but it is a comfy place to draw and exchange critiques and a little banter once in a while.

Cute butts as usual fella, are you going for a fish-eye lens effect on the left piece intentionally? I think it's close to working but I feel something is JUST a bit off. Perhaps if you indicated her obliques just a bit more with a slight compression on the outer contour of the left side it would read a little better but I'm not sure-wouldn't take long to try, though-see what you think and play around with adding some variation to that left contour because she kind of looks like she's shaped like grimace on that side with how straight up and down vertical it is.
One thing might help your hands is to just check some of the measurements of your own hand and try and use them as reference; the distance between the tip of the middle finger to the top of the metacarpal and the top of the metacarpal to the carpal bones is pretty similar
and it's a phenomena that repeats with the shorter fingers
Also keep in mind, when looking from the palmar/bottom view of the hand a good chunk of the bottom of the phallanges are obscured by fat and "webbing", in short your fingers look a little stubbier from the bottom than they do on the top.
Keep it up!

Just a harmless binary brush tiddy poster. He was accused of astroturfing on /ic/ (i.e. making threads about himself), but I never believed that.
Some people can trigger an autistic obsession in others-a lot of artists on /ic/ had been driven off by such people in the past-and a lot of people on the sidelines can't understand that phenomenon so they reach for what is the otherwise most likely scenario (that the artist is simply trying to drum up discussion about themselves for attention).

On the plus side, I got these done. Just redrafting a design I had, to go alongside the redrafting of her character. Though I guess the last one here is pretty risque, for me. Whatever, I had to show her back to actually design the pattern.

I guess it never occurred to me to say that I'm always willing to divulge information, and or answer questions, about my material. So yeah, I'll spill some details.
Honestly stuff like what you posted wouldn't be out of place. Since technically it's just whatever my tastes in music are (the entire comic's just that. "My tastes" in whatever.) The song I linked, I had on loop as I drew that, and it's the kind of music I'm having Claire blast. But anything "high energy" is what you could imagine the denizens of Kangsville listening to.
On that note, "music" as a concept, is really important to the comic, if the Afterburns (technically only one's been named, but three have been shown) names didn't give anything away. To the point where each character so far has a certain kind of genre and tone, associated with them. So Claire is like "loud harsh noisy vocaloid music." Max is like "JAM Project/Motley Crue." Papi is "metal covers of jrock/j music in general." And this extends to the environments, too. The tavern back in Ch2 had that one medieval theme from Rayman Legends, The Gilded Samurai is Aquarium Park Act 1, I could keep going but you get the idea.
There's upcoming action sequences that I've also sequenced, by mentally mapping them out in time to music. The chapter I'm currently working on I did the first stages of drafting, by imagining stuff, while listening to Devils Never Cry. There's one sequence, as well, that even though it's the midpoint of the story, I'd honestly be fine if I wasn't able to work on it anymore after that, that's set to something you could probably pick out if you're picking up on where I'm drawing shit from.
So yeah, if you ever want to know more, feel free to ask.

Fucking cute shit, the only thing that bugs me is there faces on your red demons are a bit difficult to see as red typically has a lower base value. So I suggest making it brighter somehow; either by brightening it a bit or shitting the hue a but closer to get a red orange instead. Otherwise I fucking love those little demons

These work as a proof of concept but there doesnt seem to be much of a punchline to either comic. The idea that the characters are demonic and have such mundane interactions with each other doesnt sit well with me.
Keep in mind youre working in a digital form and you can format it however you want without the need for awkward sized panels. You can do pure vertical panels so that you can just scroll through and that might be easier to work with.
the most important thing if you want to get better though is that you just keep making them

Yeah, it's hard to come up with plot ideas early on, so these are just for the sake of characterization as to establish characters. Also about the panel layout, I thought they'd be a tad chaotic as to fit in with the style of the comic, but I'm always up for new ways to format the comics. Thanks for the input.

real nibba craft-honing suggestion: li'l bro's design should have an obvious (not drastic) difference from the MC's. I get that he has a usually pleasant expression and he's holding something here, but it would help in the future to not confuse them from one panel to the next.

Head shape, body shape, horn length, horn style, slight change in tone all seem like pretty good options.
Making older specimens more angular and have a more extreme aspect ratio in body parts is a pretty classic approach. Head taking up less of the whole body, and facial features taking up less of the head, too. In the same vein, younger creatures could be more rounded, both in outline and in width-to-height ratio of the torso and head, and could have larger heads when compared to the rest of the body.
Horns seem like a good candidate for personality. Shorter, rounder, plumper, less pointy but otherwise pristine and clean versus longer, thinner, angled and unkempt.
