I don't really want to argue on /kind/, but that's the only time I've really got unfairly banned. It's not about removing posts I don't like - it's about preventing threads from being derailed and ruined by off-topic flame-wars. As soon as you allow political or religious posts, you will inevitably get arguments. Banning them makes /a/ far more resistant to trolling and derailing. Yes, it comes at a price, but I think that price is worth paying. To be clear, I think /leftypol/ posts should be banned just as much as /pol/ posts.
One thing that does annoy me is all the elitism. Banning people for "thinly veiled rec thread" is retarded.
