hello /kind/, circumstances are forcing me to rely on an Android phone, I'd like to ask for tips and app recommendations to make this a more bearable experience.
I mostly need this phone for games and browsing, any recommended browsers for good downloading from a variety of sites like mega?

Well, I don't like to rely on the phone myself, but I have a few apps that I really like:
-SwiftKey is kind of awesome and futuristic in my opinion. Instead of tapping, you swipe your thumb around, hitting the areas where the letters that make up your word are located, and let go when it predicts the word you want. You can type really quickly that way. I think Android has a similar functionality built in, I can't remember. But this app feels the fastest for me.
-Chan Burauza makes using 8chan very pleasant. There are a few problems, like thread update notifications not getting pushed through, but it's still very good.
-Nova Launcher is what I use to customize how my phone screens look. It's really fun, and I suggest giving it a try.

A while back I deleted my image folder so that I'd shitpost less. This is about half of all the images I have on this laptop.

Thank you for the suggestions! I'm currently having fun tinkering with the Nova launcher, all these options are kinda overwhelming me at the moment though, I've always been used to just sucking up to poor/passable ui without a second thought.
The phone's looking prettier already! Thanks again, anon!

I forgot to ask earlier, are there any antivirus programs you guys could recommend? And what sites are generally good for getting apps From?

I used phones as main communication devices for years yet becaus of my paranoid nature I never installed too much shit people shill all over. I like to keep it simple, if your phone has good specs it's going to be an easy task. First off I strongly reccomend you get root. A lot of people say Firefox is shit and imho it's true but Chrome is even shittier and bloated, so get that. MXPlayer is a great and simple videoplayer, has HW acceleration if your phone supports it to watch chinese cartoons, can stream too but I've never tried that feature. Total Commander is a simple and lightweight file manager. Quickpic (pre 3.0) is GOAT image viewer, it's great but got bought and now it's full of social media crap and bloated af. For music depends on your needs, I have all my music perfectly tagged and organized so everything werked fine for me, still I recommend the Play Music app. For pdfs either Foxit or Xodo Docs, for general office stuff WPS office served my needs fine, dunno if LibreOffice is already available. If your phone has no physical buttons I reccomend you check out an app called LMT on xda, basically it enhances navigation and adds buttons and shortcuts for lots of things, highly configurable. If you don't mind the botnet and tracking there's no better place to get apps than the Play Store itself, alternative markets are probably full of shady shit and as there's no way to compare md5's and seeing how you asked about antivirus I strongly recommend you stick to that. Btw just like on a PC an antivirus is only necessary if you download shady stuff, so don't. Zero day exploits will fuck your ass whether you have AV or not. Oh and if you can't get root at the very least get an ad blocking addon for your browser of choice since that's the main malware attack vector.
If you get root make sure you get Xposed, it's a mod that allows you to install countless other mods, I use mine to change the hardware button functions.
Can't help you on the gaming aspect because
>gaming on a phone
And because in my brief experience with mobile games almost everything out there is freemium cancer. If I were you I'd get a ps3 controller and get emulators instead. Not very convenient but the ps1, n64, snes and even PSP games out there are light years ahead from every shitty mobile game made to scam your shekels.

Sadly I'm too poor and detached from any hardware and reliable rooting where I am right now.
Thank you for the advice though.

it is, I meant that I don't have access to computers, and that I would like to ask for advice with using a phone instead.
