I don't think that's true. It may be just that nobody know how to reply without feeling the same way you said you do about wasting everyone's time. That's how I usually feel when I don't have a good answer for someone. I feel like I might insult them by talking and sharing my opinion about stuff I don't know much about, but that doesn't mean I don't care or that your post wasn't interesting enough.

Yeah, that and crossboarding memes. Maybe we're getting old and grumpy. Sometimes it's plain badluck, others you have to keep in mind time zones, im sure you've noticed this. Post X get zero replies. Post X 8hrs later get 500+ reply thread.

I'm going through something similar. I used to attend a board with a really tight knit community, so everyone was always replied to. I even accumulated quite the collection of memes and cute girl pictures. However, what with that board having died some time ago, I'm just now noticing how long it takes for some people to reply, if they reply at all.
Though, in all honesty, 8chan is slowing down a lot in general.
