What boards/chans/forums does /kind/ use?
For me it's /g/ both here and half, /int/, /a/, /o/, sometimes /r9k/. Been giving reddit a chance too, its ok.

/n/, /tg/, /tv/, and /v/. I might browse 4/vg/ if a game I'm playing has no discussion on 8/v/, but I otherwise stick to 8chan.
Reddit are bullies. They steal our memes, and have an awful site layout.

Here (often):
/a/, /r9k/ (since I've been depressed lately), /kind/ (obviously)
Here (not so often):
/fit/, /tg/
Here (rarely):
/b/, /x/ (I miss when /x/ across the boards were good), /christian/, /late/, /metal/, /philosophy/
Elsewhere:
sweat4health.com (my home board)
sfdebris.com/forum (not a member, I just lurk occasionally to read what they have to say about SFDebris eps I just watched; otherwise too "nu-geek" for my taste even if I agree with their policy against both being an abusive environment and a politically-correct circlejerk as they put it)
Spoiler for lewd: /d/ here and on halfchan, sometimes /e/ on either board

I visit /r/watchpeopledie for perspective.
Personally I've always been fascinated by life, our mechanical inner workings and its complex design all working together to create a living being. A living being I call mother, father, friend, plant, animal, etc. It's just intrinsically beautiful.
To see people die is to challenge the social notion that people are invincible and immortal, generally. To me, to see people die is to challenge my notion of people, it instills in me an objective perspective of people and life in general, that life is mechanical just like the rest of the universe. Like any physics equation, with the known variables we can predict the behavior of a living thing, because we behave based on our environment, because our environment is a derivative of a rational universe, it'd be foolish to say that we are irrational and spiritual beings that transcend the lack of free will that non-living things have.
Maybe that's a dangerous philosophy, but the ugliness in the truth of mortality is a beauty in its own way and I believe that the pursuit of truth is an ultimate good, no matter what that pursuit may entail.

I use 8ch for /v/ these days. At different times in my life I've frequented many web BBSs including 4chan, 7chan, 420chan, iichan and other more eclectic systems. The culture on 4chan has languished and no longer interests me, /jp/'s decline is a prime example.
/kind/ is interesting to me and I'm more comfortable with its pace and attitude. However I have doubts that a community whose focus is on acting kind is as likely to succeed as one where people are kind to one another out of a real respect for the community and its members.
One day I'd like to try providing the infrastructure for a web community of that kind to grow.

I think its also because a lot of the boards are kinda obscure and almost no one knows about them, like with /offgrid/ and /atlantis/ and other similar boards that might be interesting, but some of them were mostly forgotten, like /rocks/ and /scenic/
Maybe its also because posters might not know what to post, or they get lazy because there's too many boards and just go back to the big active ones

I dunno, I just miss the overall online fitness and paranormal communities I "grew up with" in the late 00's and early 10's. I remember when you could count the number of 2spoopy utub channels by hand, but now there's too much sewage to sift through in search of a tootsie roll. As for /fit/, it was following their sticky that I was able to drop almost 200 lbs and for the most part keep it off the past half-decade, but it's too bad anything below the sticky isn't worth reading unless you like being told to kys for not being a keto 'roider.
And yeah, that's the double-edged blade of anyone being able to make a board: most the time your board is going to be ignored in favor of the few populated places we already have. So there's really no point except to post on what big boards there are. I learned that the hard way trying to make a /r9k/ spin-off board for cyborgs so these "failed normans" could talk about cyborg things without having to be reeee'd at by "trve robots".

I've always been into horror and so forth, so I really enjoyed those several-hundred post "reality glitch" and other personal stories you'd see on various /x/ boards across many *chans. And the 2spoop stuff you'd see on utub in the distant past before there was so much it got crushed under its own weight. I still check out the likes of ReignBot, ScareTheater, and Night Mind every now and then, but almost never creepypasta readers like UNIT #522 or ObsoleteOddity anymore because there's no quality control at all. This guy had some good ones almost ten years ago when there were barely a handful of classics to read: https://youtube.com/user/SCPantera/videos

Thank you! It's a constant war against myself to not backslide but it's mostly worth it. Still trying to find that sweet spot of not obsessing over nutrition and exercise so much it stresses me and sucks up my free time. Was easy to go from living to eat junk food to living to eat (mostly) healthy, now the challenge is to learn to eat (mostly) clean to live a lot. (As opposed to the admonishment "live a little!" when one doesn't stuff stuff their face with chips and candy all day.)
I didn't know how to "promote" a board without flooding and spamming, so I guess it just plumb died. And as an American I shake my fist at Americans many a day!

For me I've been practicing Qi gong (which means energy work) Tai-chi and Zen meditations can be a part of it, I got a pretty good book about it called "Idiot's guide to Tai-chi and Qigong" which explains it and the benefits pretty well. There are also videos on youtube that show some of the exercises
I don't know if there's a board on here for that, but if there is I might like to browse it. I think there was a thread about it on /fringe/ but I don't go on there much (now I might explore the reasons for why I don't go on there much)

Qi gong and Tai-chi sound interesting. Saw the latter in an anime and it looked relaxing.
I'm getting in the habit of a short daily morning meditation, just your basic 108 breaths counted with mala beads. After reading so much it's time to get to getting, though I'm trying to look at it like physical exercise: too much at first will wreck you. I hope some day I can un-dull my wits just enough to start a few from that Zen Path Through Depression book and from here:
http://viewonbuddhism.org/Meditations/anger_aversion_meditation.html
http://viewonbuddhism.org/Meditations/love_forgiveness_meditation.html
I've tried a few things like this but I just feel silly and self-conscious. Probably because my vajra sword is as sharp as a stone. I have no hope of achieving Unbinding, but maybe I can make this life a little less shitty than it has been (even if it's just for the purpose of indulging sense-pleasures a little better; nirvana's not for everyone I guess), all the while planting a few good roots for more fortunate rebirths.

Its better not to see it as a straining pbysical exercise according to the Tai-chi/qigong book.

Maybe you just need better grounding, Qigong is also about letting go of strain and struggle and not trying too hard. Zen is a part of Qigong (Qigong just means energy work)

I agree, I definitely just need some discipline and to stick to something. Or at least a "no computer/phone until I've done XYZ today" discipline.
I've looked at /fringe/ a few times and it mostly seems like nonsense LARPing but they've got some neat stuff to check out like that meditations page. I'll definitely be trying a few of those! But not the magick stuff as, even if it's not just metaphorical/mental/emotional, Buddha warns that special powers like (iddhi or siddhi I think) are the path away from nibbana as being able to fly or read minds are massive ego traps. Many suttas specifically warn against pursuing mentalist power-trips because of their ego-trapping nature. Sound advice methinks!

-8ch: /v9k/, /hikki/, I also like to read /tulpa/ sometimes and look over /gap/ since it seems like a very cozy board. Some others as well but I don't visit them very often and I can't be bothered to list them. I dont' know… the occasional /x/ and some others.
-wizchan.org, I really only use /jp/, /hob/, and /games/ since the rest makes it even more clear that the people there are rather /unkind/.
-I used to visit incels.me because I thought I would fit in there after having to leave my home imageboard but I don't really like it. It just kind of opened my eyes to the fact that incels can be just as spiteful and mean as normals but for different (and somewhat more justifiable reasons maybe) reasons than normals as well as having different methods of being a jerk. /v9k/ also has this issue.
-I also use reddit but mostly for nice pictures. I kind of feel like the people who complain about how bad reddit is just use the main subs or the really popular ones and even reddit users know to avoid those.
I've been looking for a place to call home on the internet for a while with no luck.

I once read a counter-argument against one being as aggressive as you mention (rage-shitting all over the thread over minor annoyances) which went something like,
>Look, a blunt atmosphere drives off the worst of the tumblrinas and ledditards when they quickly learn this isn't their usual hugbox, but to go out of your way to be always shitty all the time will also send quality posters packing until only shit remains. Shit like you.
==Sound familiar?==

I use to like browsing video game boards and /pol/ a lot but quit them for obvious reasons, and /x/ and /lit/ are too dead to check up on.

I've stopped going on the internet so much, everything is sterile to me and I've had every conversation I cared having multiple times and it's becoming a caricatured routine especially imageboards. I'm grateful for imageboards being in my life but I don't care anymore.

Not even just that, but the general unwillingness to have an arguement or exchange of ideas in good will. Everyone is just shoveling their garbage on and on and if somebody asks them to not do so have the gall to claim higher ground. The self conceitedness of these people, is gigantic, and the "Me, Me Me!" attitude and unwillingness to even consider the idea that they maybe screwing up the entire place, and it's time to just approach these things calmly is frankly baffling. Honestly it feels like everyone's is having a constant never ending psychotic episode outside of me, lashing out at anything that isn't in zhe same state as them.
I'm not trying to make myself a victim, or preach to the masses so i just left for the most part and just lurk. I feel like just engaging at all is pointless now. I partly blame twitter as well. It's such an amalgamazion of this attitude towards the internet.
Everyone keeps saying how imageboards in general are like this. I'm sure you heard the arguement of swimming in a sea of trash to find a gem, but some if not most of the most interesting conversations i had were on imageboards, back when people were willing to put in the effort to upkeep the standards in the community they are in. Thankfully, due to 8ch, small, tightly knit communities like this still exist.

4ch- only really /ck/ and /t/ because 8's versions are basically dead, rest of the site might as well be reddit 2.0
wizchan - lurking it less and less honestly, the constant vitriol and negativity by the wizzies there is bad for the soul. /games/ and /hob/ haven't been infected with that kind of mentality yet so thats nice.

Used to lurk this multi language imageboard that translated everything into english that I can't remember the name of, but I'm pretty sure its dead sadly.

I find that's only true on boards hell, this applies to any site honestly that grow too large to sustain its self, making the quality posters look for the door with no one to replace them but people looking for nothing more then baseless arguing and to shitpost, hence why smaller boards and websites feel like actual communities.

I remember when you could have arguments, even heated and vicious ones, where one could learn something, have one's opinions shaped and tempered by setting them on fire to see how well they stood. But nowadays…

My original main boards were /pol/ and /r9k/ around the time the former was first added to Halfchan. After a while I started disliking the direction they were going (too much earnest craziness and closed-mindedness in the case of /pol/ and /r9k/ starting to revolve too much around complaining instead of the kind of topical variety it used to have), and eventually found my way here.
I use a lot of boards here, mostly equivalents of the I used to visit, (like /vr/ and /mu/). I used to really like /cow/, but it's not as entertaining as it used to be.
Even if the funposting is out of control, I'll sometimes visit Halfchan just because it has more activity.

/cow/, /k/, /animu/, /r9k/, occasionally /kind/, and /liberty/. /pol/ and /v/ use to be my main boards, but for /pol/ the community has changed so much from what it use to be in the first exodus that I eventually ended up leaving the board altogether. With /v/, my main problem is that the place just feels like its become r/gaming and the quality of discussion has dropped like a rock. In all honesty, I find myself not using image boards as much as I use too. Back in the day, I would be on /pol/ or whatever for hours at a time before I ran out of threads to lurk. Nowadays imageboards just don't feel comfy to enough browse with that sort of frequency and its not like I have any less time than I did before.
4chan and 8ch(aside from many of the smaller boards) have gotten progressively worse over time and its just pretty depressing watching this all unfold. Like your watching a train wreck happen in slow motion and there is nothing you can do to stop it. I really miss first exodus 8chan.

I used to visit so many boards it wasn't even funny, i had to have a custom script to have my top bar drop down otherwise it took up too much room.
Now I only frequent a few places, some old lurk spots, on RARE occasion ill stop by /b/, /kind/, and /ebola/
I spend most online time on twitter, shithole that it is, its very easy to just post stuff and not give a fuck about the results, as im usually too busy to actually follow active discussion threads, and in public or work, risk of getting caught on chans is much worse than someone finding you are on twitter.
It's a mixed bag, on one hand I have a career, a house, a dog, a gf who i met on 8ch of all places and we spend most of our time with eachother, but I still miss those old days of shitposting all day, but im too spread thin to keep active in any place on a recurring basis usually.
Oh and 4chan /f/ and /d/, i still make it there regularly.

the shit that happened with /pol/ that most people aren't even aware of is hilarious. There used to be a hardcore shotacon mod.
Also im so glad I got to experience the exodus Technically 8chans 4th or 5th, but it was the BIG exodus I got to feel the flame of youth I had back on old /b/ back in '09, that youthful energy that's hard to explain, I thought I would never experience again. I'm really glad I did, even if it passed, I am always thankful for 8ch for letting me experience that again
