There was an news made by Inoguchi about kemoner when it was posted on Splatoon 2.

I'll stop your right there. This whole article screams "muh fursecution", which is bullshit. I come to /kemono/ to get away from the obnoxious and legitimately deviant western furries, and because kemono art is better. Some may disagree, but I hate fursuiting, fursonas, and the western community at large, so I see no loss when people rightfully bash them.

ditto

Seems to be the situation of ~15 years ago in the West starting to repeat itself in Japan now– stuff like the obnoxious "Furry Friday" attention floods on the early 4chan (…which "Caturday" was invented to derail), and rallying over Furescution being used more for promoting the genre by special snowflakes. Unfortunately, it attracts special snowflakes.

In 5 years, I expect Kemono to be "90% Western Furry" in how it's done. :/ Sayonara to artists putting in the effort to do a decent doujin.

I jumped to Kemono in 1997. It wasn't. The be-like-the-Americans thing only started happening with Social Media platforms like Twitter. Even Dr Comet, Trump, and the /few/ others who associated with the Western hemisphere's fans in the pioneering days only did it as a side, their work/market/fans primarily being 'the Japanese Hentai scene. And for every Comet/Trump, there were 20x as many Japanese-only Kemono websites without a hint of Furry Once-Fandom.

Having Circles and a fandom for Anthro art and work has always been a thing over there, but it was indigenous communities and their ideas. (The popular "Catwife" and still influential idea of Human + Anthro romantic pairings had nothing really like it in Furry Fandom, for an example of how they did their own thing.)

Having fursonas as complete personal identities, drawing 'characters' has blank as their backgrounds, mursona commissions, fandom as a way to get IRL ass sex, Carpetsuting, etc. has only been happening in Formerly Based Nippon for the past few years, and it's getting worse.

Yeah, I read somebody else complain about this on /monster/ of all places. It's a damn shame. I like kemono and even a lot of furry art but I hate the whole fursona aspect. Now I would say artists are free to draw whatever they want but the worst character designs are usually not even done by actual artists but by commissioners with more money than sense. This means the gallery of every decent artist that takes commissions get's filled up with ugly biofreaks fucking each other.

IRL sex-seeking is in almost every social activity. However, the IRL anal-sex seeking (with a bizarre premise) and letting it flourish however drove the regular fans out of Furry.

Western Anime and Furry Fandoms both started at around the same time and with the same general idea, except Anime became orders of magnitude more popular and diverse (in the positive sense) because the Straight girls didn't run away. (Cosplay's appeal to girls did a lot of good!)

On the other hand: Australian Furry Fandom in 1994 was mostly female– mostly those with art backgrounds there for the self-publishing cute stuff; Amy Pronovost for example. By 1998 however, 90% of those girls had left because they were squicked by all the Gay freakhappenings– something I've been told by nearly all of them.

I honestly can't recall seeing many fursona commission, I did see some on Sindoll's twitter but that's about it. The bigger concern is Nakagami Takashi allowing the likes of LightSource and Onta to appear in Mare Holic and Kemokko Lovers. That shit needs to go away. I have no issue with Western artists contributing to a Japanese anthology work, it reminds me of the time I'd see Comet and Trump stuff in western furry anthologies. I didn't mind seeing Miu in a Japanese book years ago because he had a similar and cute style that fit. Things like Lightsource and Onta need to be culled. Onta/Doxy is a super jew while Lightsource can't draw.

The Western Fandom is truly cancerous and they want to drag down everything related to the genre like Kemono down with them. They have no quality control, they masturbate to bad drawings of what looks like ceral box cartoons and the men hump each other in mascot costumes in real life. They also have a lack of self awareness, they'll scream "fursecution" whenever people call them out for being obnoxious. I love Kemono and the Japanese fandom, but unfortunately they have a small handful of Westaboos that fursuit. Fursonas are indeed cancer, making an entire identity with one's own fetish never ends well.

I like a lot of western art and things but the community is filled to the brim with gay male nihilists who have nothing of meaning in their lives so they base it all around their fetish and sexual deviancy since it's the only thing 'important' in their lives aside from their job.

Then you see these fags spend thousands on commissions that they don't need, go to every convention religiously, and have no real friends except the other fags they go to fuck. It becomes their life, and it's disgusting to watch. I knew one who was my childhood friend, basically put himself in the poorhouse ordering commissions while he couldn't pay his bills, even though he had a very well paying STEM job, he just spent it all every month.

Years after I stopped talking to him, I saw people talking about him on /fur/ about how degenerate he was, and apparently he blamed his roommate at the time (me) for his misfortunes.

I don't care much for the Japanese community either but for completely different reasons. I'm just here for the art.

The Japanese fandom is far more tolerable from what I've seen. Anyways what we could use is more good art, writefags, drawfags and other content creating, nice discussions on Kemono and maybe a movie night every now and then to watch anime or something or even do a /kemono/ sings. /kemono/ has potential to be a fun board, as of now this place is really comfy.

Yeah, I'm with >>6876 on this one. I mean, the point of kemono is kinda to let the kemo artists do their stuff and we talk about it. Singing, drawing, writing, etc. will make us more like /fur/ and /monster/ combined, which I don't want. I would, however, be quite pleased by an anime/movie stream night. We could start with wolf children or something. we should do made in abyss when nanachi appears.

Define OC. Memes? No thanks, I don't /kemono/ to become subject to dumbass boardwars. OC drawings? I could get behind it but the drawfags, no offense to them, haven't been able to make much that I would say looks kemono. Writefags? you could do that on /fur/, there would be no significant difference between writing about kemono and furry. So no, I don't really think we need OC, the board is just for posting and discussing kemono art, and things related to it like anime, vidoe games, and events like kemoket.

So you're that guy. I sincerely hope you're not the BO.

Tell me this; if someone can't draw kemono "properly" according to your definition, should they not allowed to post and try and learn and discuss how to improve their style with other drawfags, and instead they should go away and not come back until their art is convincing?

>discussing kemono art

You could condense all there is to discuss into a single thread and then there would be nothing else to discuss again because everything else is more suited to /fur/, unless a kemono anime/videogame comes out which seems to happen once every 10 years.

Most of the "discussion" in this board is people asking for doujins or trying to find more kemono content.

Nothing specifically, I just don't want people to start leaning towards the idea that creating new content in this board is a bad thing, or discouraging people from trying if their content isn't kemono enough.

Western attitudes and behaviors that are perceived as negative ITT aren't related to any form of OC, even if they intertwine in the west.

I wouldn't have a problem with most of that if it didn't consume the whole fandom. I like a lot of western art too and don't have much of a bigger preference for anime-styled things, but I can't even say that since most western furry art would be by the fans themselves, and even those are shit more often than not.

Kemono is superior by default for not having such an awful following.

There's a difference from fan drawings and such– like is already done here and gets along fine in the drawthread and CM3D2– and the Cancerous behavour that develops when Furries are involved (like begging for Free Arts like has happened over the last several days). It has been pointed out ITT several times already.

/fur/ries who are here just to flood a slow board with requests for Pokemon spooge, commissioned, art-begged, multi-thread about whatever character's hot on /fur/ non-stop, or otherwise, can fuck off. You already have your own nests where you'd be a lot more successful getting what you want there.

(Old Geezer adds: this is why the hate for Furries developed on the Internet in the first place 15+ years ago– they have no respect for other fan communities. "Hey Sonic vidya board, I wants all yours Tails pron and I'll flood and flood this site for it." "This is a Video Game site, Cunt!" "Hey Tails/Shippo TTBS fan! I'm one two! Let have 4-5 of us constantly shit this site up with our unable-to-read-social-clues Autism!")

The difference in board culture basically comes down to a difference between actual kemoners and western furries. We think it's a hobby or fetish, many furries think it's an identity or lifestyle. Kemono events are all centered around doujin works, kemono GKs etc. whereas most furry events are just meet ups to go have fursuit sex. Basically treat it the way you would normal anime girls.

Well there isnt much to talk about now that the furry storm in Splatoon 2 has passed. It only lasted for a week and a half and was just a dumb internet slapfight against furries and furry haters while a few innocents got involved.

While most of the art was work safe, it was annoying to see the inkopolis plaza getting filled with dumb fursona art instead of the usual splatoon fan art and memes related to Nintendo games.

I will also say that I was turned off by some of the furries were blatantly trying to push boundaries with their art, especially during the splatfest where I had to report 4 pictures of curries giving each other "mayo facials" and one with a furry holding a ketchup bottle like a dick While squirting ketchup everywhere.
