I can recommend it, but until that cat girl appear, there are barely any major Kemono character in it. Well, one more kemono (kobold) appear frequently, but as a side character, who don't have much impact to the story, until certain points.
This serie's called Dungeon Meshi.
It's a very fun manga about wandering in dungeon to rescue a certain someone, and cooking whatever they defeated into a meal.
The enjoyment come from characterization and the interaction of the main character, each with their own quirk, often leading hilarious situation. The battle, while not as spectacular are often suspenseful, basing around the character trying to figure out the solution to their issue using whatever resource they have at hand.
The world building's and the lore are also very interesting.
A good read, I tell you.
