I have considered hosting a site that is a voluntary part of a webring but I think I'm done running a board on somebody else's site, for a few reasons. The site linked in OP is mine, and if I do anything it will be hosted there but I'll be too busy to do it for a little bit, and honestly every time I think about sitting down to focus on it, I get the feeling that before I set it up, someone else will have done the same thing, making one or the other redundant.
One problem I think of is that I think we need more than just an image board to replace this board and boards like it, as they don't really offer any major benefits over each other besides sometimes content curation. I theorized about a having an imageboard with an attached forum section somewhat like a marketplace forum you see with some hobby sites where people can post bounties to have certain doujins scanned or translated, or offer services like 3d printing models etc, but I don't really know what the demand for something like that is because I am basically a hermit when it comes to the kemono community, I started this board to bring the community to me, for example.
