Any anon here figure out a way to make some money without going out to your house? I tried looking for a job but I'm only qualified for a service industry which required a lot of interacting with peoples (I did worked for 3 months but I quit because I couldn't get along with my co-workers and having trouble talking to customer). I'm not asking much in term of payment, just enough to pay the bills and food. I live with my parents, I dont have any student debt or car's loan, I'm happy if I could make $500 a month just from the comfort of my bedroom.

I got a nice programming job they let me work from home. It's actually rather difficult and sometimes stressful, but that's because the work is hard, though I mostly enjoy it. My boss and coworkers are all really really nice and accommodating.

Occasionally I wonder if I should take advantage of the flexibility and travel, and then I think, what's the difference between being stuck in a room in California or stuck in a room in Berlin or Tokyo or Lima…

If any other programming anons are here, you may want to look into remote-friendly places like gitlab, stackoverflow, parse.ly. There are some more too.

Hey, good luck with school anon. A lot of it can be pretty terrible but if nothing I think having something to do/make you feel accomplished is worth a lot, at least mentally speaking.

Do you ever have anxiety when interacting with them online or over the phone? i take it since you're a hikki you don't actually leave the house to see them.

idk if this disqualifies me, but I don't really have social anxiety, I can go to a bar and talk to any random stranger without a problem. It's just that when I actually try to (this is, of course in the past) make a friend it always always fails (either they say they're busy, or I give them my contact they never message me) and that makes me feel really terrible.Especially if it keeps happening over 5-6 years, since college. My father has schizoaffective/bipolar, so maybe it's a factor in this, anyway the last time I got "ghosted" I woke up, lying on the floor in a subway station 6 stops away from my home crying at 3am. No idea how I got there, wasn't on any drugs or alcohol or anything.

Eventually I said screw it and stopped trying to make friends. I feel a lot more stable now that I don't get my hopes up unnecessarily…

All this to say, no I don't have a problem talking to my coworkers because I know all they expect from me is communication about work and a bit of techy banter sometimes.

It sounds like you weren't able to connect with people and that's why you withdrew from society would that be accurate in saying?

I guess so. But even if I was able to connect to someone, I don't know if I'd want the responsibility of being a friend to someone. Honestly it's been so long (high school, I guess) I don't really know anymore.

Same here to be honest with you most people in general just annoy the shit out of me and piss me off.

Are you at least content with your current situation? how long have you been a hikikomori and how often do you leave the house? I usually only leave once a month for groceries and once or twice every other week for fast food and that's about it really.

>Are you at least content with your current situation?

I don't know. On a day-to-day basis, yeah I guess. Work is interesting, I like to cook and try out different recipes, reading manga and books, talking on imageboards to anons like you.

More abstractly, sometimes I feel like I'm only fine on the surface and I'm going to somehow destruct eventually. I know that social withdrawal is a Bad Thing for people. Maybe I should get a cat. If I've inherited schizophrenia and it starts presenting (I think it already has a bit, no idea, I'm kind of terrified of going to a psychiatrist) I think I'll have to go see a doctor and get some meds. It is truly a horrible disease

>how long have you been a hikikomori and how often do you leave the house?

Maybe around 6 months. Before that I would go to work in person, and go to restaurants and bars sometimes (always by myself). Most of my cooking is vegetables so I get groceries about once/1.5 wks, luckily the supermarket is only a block away. I need a haircut and am wondering whether to just do it myself, since I'm not trying to impress anyone anyway.

> I usually only leave once a month for groceries and every other week for fast food and that's about it really.

By the way, are you content with your situation? Are you staying with family or by yourself? What kind of food do you cook that lets you leave only once a month? I've been thinking about freezing vegetables but I feel like that'd ruin the quality

I've always went to the barber but I hated it, now I do it myself, just buy a cheap electric shaver and do it. No more anxiety for me.

I've been thinking about doing this myself as well although i'm afraid that i will fuck up to be honest. My mom used to cut people's hair for a living so after i go weeks or even months without a haircut or shaving she cleans me up.

Sounds like a good day.

>Maybe i should get a cat

If you can afford having one go ahead but most hikikomori can not afford having a pet also having a pet actually requires you to leave the house more often too depending on the animal.

>I feel like I'm only fine on the surface and I'm going to somehow destruct eventually.

I can relate anon i do feel fine on on the surface but deep down i know i'm not.

>Luckly the supermarket is only a block away.

Same with my supermarket.

>By the way, are you content with your situation?

For the most part yes however i do have days where i wake up and feel sad because i have missed the life bus.

>Are you staying with family or by yourself?

I was living with my parents but then i was kicked out 4 years ago now i live in a house for the mentally ill with 2 other people of course i never leave my room so they never really see me anyway plus i sleep during the day and i am up at night.

>What Kind of food do you cook that lets you leave only once a month?

I generally only buy frozen food the last time i went to the store was July 12th. and i bought Pepsi Beef Jerky M&ms chips french fries chicken nuggets microwave cheese burgers potatoes apples and milk do you think i should change something in my diet?

It's not too hard with the right tools. (Your mom would probably be able to help pick out good ones.) With an electric trimmer, you basically just snap on a little comb and comb your hair with it, and with an electric shaver, you just rub your face with it once a day.

I was leery of that stuff myself for a long time (mainly the idea of sharp cutting implements going near my jugular vein), but eventually I took the plunge and haven't had any troubles with it.

True however because of anhedonia and depression on the days where i wake up and feel sad i pretty much don't wanna do anything and i just stay in bed.

>Is it nice there?

Yeah better than the last one i lived at which i lived with 15 people and everyone who worked there was a nigger. As i have said before living as a hikikomori in a group home isn't probably the best choice but if you have nowhere else to go it is better than nothing.

>Do you get good wifi and AC and stuff?

Yeah they aren't terrible.

Looks really good. I wish I could let my hair grow like that, but mine has a will of its own, so I can't make it look good unless I cut it at least four times a year, though I only do it once or twice anyway. At best I can make it just a little bit messy, and I can appreciate that, but just in a few minutes it frequently turns into a mess that I believe no one with the slightest amount of sanity would like.

It is actually easy scamming gullible retards out of their bitcoins.

They bought their coins years ago without a receipt. Now they want to cash out but all exchanges will not allow them as they have no proof of source. So what they do is go on p2p platforms and deal with shady figures in hope of getting some cash.

If you scam those they can not run to police because they would have to explain why those btc in question do not appear in any of their previous tax reports.

and while you're right in principle, and I'm not advocating crime merely saying it is one of many opportunities to make money, while you're right that avoiding giving the police (or anyone else) a reason to fuck your shit up. And that would be one of the most devastating experiences for a Hikki.

Some crimes are very difficult to detect. Being a _documented_ (ie doctors visits, meds, psych notes, even just people who know your habits) Hikki would make you an unlikely criminal, and make it difficult to commit these crimes.

One I've thunk on is Chargeback fraud (Internet White Collar). You basically buy something with credit cards and then tell your bank it was someone else (a fraudster), you never recieved the goods (sometimes doesnt work), or the goods were not as described. Your bank, after dealing with the merchant, probably pays you back. If they dont the first time, YOU CAN APPEAL.

If you buy goods to resell (digital goods are easy to sell from home. and you don't have to leave your house to pick up goods from a drop) you can literally max out your credit cards for cash, and then never have to pay back a cent.

The scheme is how you get out of the debt, turn the goods into any liquid asset, and not get in trouble.

OTHER THAN American Express, (so visa, mastercard, and smaller companies) the card issuer is on your side, basically. If you can make the purchases look like they originated from another persons house (not your neighbors unsecured wifi that you can use from inside your house) and claim fraud, that's probably the safest way to claim. I wont tell you how to fake this stuff. But if you can get as much as 5000 in credit, you can have maybe 4000 in your wallet after frictional costs. with a 10000 limit, say $8000. Not advocating crime, just explaining why people do it.

You could while all ways Nightcrime

I don't know about the finance stuff but as someone who majored in CS and did a lot of security/ethical hacking stuff in school, if you do blackhat hacking work and you're in the US, you will get caught. It's only a matter of time. There are so many ways that you leave digital traces and inevitably you'll mess up erasing them and be caught.

And again I don't know about finance but that sounds like a really great way to go to jail for credit card fraud. Idk, it doesn't seem worth it.

I think we should discuss reality here for a second working from home in the west is shit because working from home completely in the west is not realistic unless you're doing like cryptocurrency mining programming or investing in the stock market there are basically no at home jobs for hikikomori because almost every other at home job requires you to leave your house still for meetings and requires you to go to a in person interview or talk to a stranger on the phone which an actual hikikomori like myself could not do plus this lifestyle is not completely sustainable and the only kind of online jobs out there for people like us are jobs where you only make a small amount of money on the side because it is impossible to support yourself long term while being locked in your bedroom in the house that you live in in the end if you want to work from home you still have to interact with the outside world which a hikikomori can not do and in the end if you can not support yourself long term you either commit suicide return to society and become a wage slave or just wait to die that is kinda the truth of this whole thing tbh.

I've tried several ways to earn money while at home through the years and nothing really works. Started blogging at the end of 2010 after someone on an imageboard tried to start a shitposting blog circle to get money. Most of the bloggers that didn't abandon the project right away got more serious and we continued with this for a little more than a year, but by 2012 most had quit. Didn't earn anything on this because of low traffic. I guess manchildren discussing video games, cartoons and real life problems wasn't interesting to anyone, and I think most of us actually didn't want anyone outside of the group to actually read our shit. Kinda miss those days.

Anyone on here that did this?

>>849

>>5905

Used to work as a slave on swagbucks with polls, surveys and those horrible crowdflower tasks all day everyday back in 2011-12 or whenever it was. Could spend entire days only doing this shit, tedious mind-numbing tasks that pay next to nothing. When I finally got enough points for an Amazon gift card I got an error message stating rewards aren't available for my country even though they accepted international users according to their rules. Tried contacting them several times, they never answered and instead deleted my account. Years later I was stupid enough to go back and try again without any luck, this time they needed verification by a code they send either via sms (don't have a phone) or regular mail (not giving out address to scammers).

Tried several other similar sites with mostly the same results, either being banned for no reason when reaching the lowest redeemable amount (Slicethepie), being banned for no reason right away (InstaGC), not being able to redeem your money (Valued Opinions, seems to be a common problem with people getting banned when they complain).

I've also tried some sites that give you points to redeem for paypal cash for watching videos, these are not worth the time since you only earn about 10 cents a day (if you even get any ads, these are the ones that pay you, not the actual videos) and you constantly have to babysit them.

>>793

I do these almost every day now and have done so for the past five years since I've found some that are kind of reliable. There's way less surveys to do here (Sweden) and you earn less on them as well, compared to the US and the UK. Some pay you through paypal when you reach $10 (these are slow and it can take from half a year to over a year to earn this sum), but most pay in gift cards. While I'd much rather take money, the gift cards at least gives me a free game or some free books once in a blue moon.

Boring mind-numbing work and most surveys are aimed at middle class normalfags, but it's something.

>I wanna do art commissions and patreon stuff

I want to do this as well, but at the same time I don't. I used to draw a lot when I was a kid and in my teens, but for the past 10 years I've hardly done it at all. I want to go back to drawing again, but I have no imagination, no energy and no motivation.

And when you look at artists on patreon and see people who draw porn and furry shit are the ones that earn the big bucks. Not anything I want to do, I just want to draw whatever I feel like drawing and only for myself, I don't want any attention or recognition.

Though I've thought about just LARPing as an "artist" and churning out shitty porn and fur for the degenerate retards, but I don't know.

I have a monthly tugboat that I need to fight for every time it stops coming. It's a low sum and it isn't permanent since I've never been properly diagnosed, not that I want or care to, but I was forced to go after dropping out of school. Only been told that maybe I'm this, maybe I'm that. I've been in and out from the shrinks since 2010-11 and not a single one of them has come to a conclusion nor even cared, and I've even been told to my face that niggers and women are top priority. Really hard to get on neetbux or even food coupons here if you're a fucking white male. Not really worth jumping through all hoops and humiliating yourself for chump change that takes you nowhere though, but what can you do.

About actual work you can do from home, I guess there's always programming. I actually had the opportunity to learn programming for a year in school, but the teacher was a fat disgusting creep who couldn't keep his hands off, so I stopped going there almost immediately. And now I'm too retarded to able to learn anything.

If your that desperate you should be able to qualify for disability benefits. Theoretically, you could successfully get such benefits even if you wouldn't ordinarily qualify for them.

I got a job and fucking hate it, I don't belong in a workplace environment and with people I genuinely don't. I discovered transcriptionist, basically listen to audio and write it down, it's not as easy apparently I've heard some test tapes and all I heard was mumbling you have to develop an ear for it. I'm a lazy fuck too so I didn't bother.

Has anyone had any success working online doing writing? Blogs? Copywriting? Porn?

I'm very amateur at art (porn) but I managed to attain a small and growing following on a few sites and am now able to do individual $20-$30 commissions that give me some extra spending money. It took a few months of taking free requests and consistently posting on various art sites, but things are honestly looking up at this point.

I actually want to do that, make small amounts by drawing stuff. The issue is that communicating to people (who aren't hikkis) in a serious/business matter fucks me up. Also every time I draw something for someone else, the quality a lot worse than my usual drawings- despite putting more careful time into it. I remember when I first started out that I went on drawthreads and took random simple requests for both practicing art in general, as well as trying to get used to communicating with people. Now I'm just scared of making mistakes in everything.

Doing the thing where you draw whatever you want (and posting them on consistent schedule) only works for super popular artists or if they're are extremely talented, from what I know.

I deliberately stick to very popular subjects/fandoms so that I'm able to get away with my mediocre skills. We could discuss this in more detail if you want (discord or wherever), because I feel I should spare everyone the pain of reading about the intricacies of some of these cringey fandoms. Either way, interacting with people who want commissions was scary at first I'll admit, but after a little while I realized that they all basically act either very nice/polite, or like fucking spazoid autists that can barely form a coherent sentence, so I just look at them as such.

I have many, but I want to know this important question in this hikki understanding environment- is it necessary to be "social" on twitter like interacting and befriending other artists in order to get commissions? The end goal is to bring people to your commissions page, whoever that maybe. I don't want to befriend or talk to someone on the internet regularly; its true that I don't trust people (especially failed normalfags on twitter/youtube who are all sociopaths, pursuing their goals to live in Hollywood for fame, like a bucket of degenerate crabs) but its also mentally straining for me to talk to someone regularly. Even posting to craft the best message here that I can without over-explaining, or being too vague etc. eats up a lot of time (and a bit of anxiety) so I rarely post and enjoy being anonymous.

tl;dr having decent online presence or an identity to maintain tires me enough but I can't handle having to 'make connections' or talk to people regularly.

Okay, so the most I ever do is 'follow' other nsfw artists, and OCCASIONALLY comment positive things like "the shading here is so well done etc etc". The reason I do this is to establish a presence among the community. I never have actual conversations with anyone, and the closest I ever come to conversations are when people ask me for commissions, but those are usually very brief and require only 'yes/no' answers.

Hope that helps. I very much understand wanting to avoid conversation at all costs, but if you've got any questions feel free to ask.

Okay, then that sounds reassuring. I feel a bit optimistic now, I hope I can make something, even if its just pennies. Thank you for taking the time to help another hikki anon; I hope you continue doing well on your commissions.

I totally understand wanting to remain anonymous, but would it be possible for me to see some of your work? I'm curious as to what type of content another hikki produces.
