With so many streaming platforms available now, do you still pay for traditional cable TV? Or have you fully switched to streaming services? What made you stay or switch?

I still keep cable for my parents. They like the familiarity and flipping through channels. I use streaming for myself, but it’s wild how fast tech changes habits. Just five years ago, cable felt essential—now it’s mostly background noise unless you’re into live news or regional sports.

I was on the fence about canceling cable until my promo pricing ended. Once the bill spiked, I started comparing options. I checked reviews, looked at channel packages, and even reached out to spectrum customer service https://spectrum.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html to see what could be adjusted. Turns out, even after trimming down my plan, I was still paying more than I would with two streaming services combined. So I made the switch. I miss live local channels a bit, but the flexibility of streaming, no contracts, and cheaper monthly costs make up for it. Cable’s great for some, but streaming fits my lifestyle better.
