I was working this month and a gipsy came by trying to sell me something. Through continuous NOs and by not falling into her hand reading scam, she simply shut down, made a bad face and went away. Thankfully, I don't live in an area where there are packs. I don't know what you can do against packs, OP. I hate these people, they're dirty and disrespectful. Maintain your position and use your fists; only a true master can use their legs properly integrated and not just like a weapon. The risk of such a move is that one's opponent could roll out of harm's way and you could in essence…shatter your heel by hitting the ground instead.
You want to protect yourself against these animals with no training? I suggest you use your legs to keep a decent stance, then use them to "Lunge" into your strikes. Keep your fists up as they are your offense and defense (listen your ribs and sternum can take jabs and glancing blows easy even if you've never had a fight in your life….just use your breathing to push out your body and maintain balance) move backwards while maintaining guard then HIT with quick strikes defensively; target their noses and throats. You want to throw quick hits out that fatigue the enemy while maintaining a guard that will make their blows glance off. Think about fighting 6 people at once, how would one do this?
